You can't manually install OTA.
You can fix it either with a RUU or a nandroid backup

What do you mean by get back to 100% stock ?
Do you mean you want to change the CID from SuperCID to HTC__044 (based on your current version is 2.22.707.4)
Do you mean you want to change the S-OFF to S-ON ?
Whatever it is .. the first step is to make sure what your MID is.
Run command when on bootloader/fastboot - fastboot getvar mid and post here the result.
I'm not feeling well today (down with fever) .. I will check tomorrow for your reply.

sorry to hear about your illness . May you come round soon.
and yes i wanted to get back s on to get rid of that test device and want to update to at least lollipop version through OTA system and if for that i have to change my CID then i'm ok .but if changing the superCID creates any problem of my network then it will be really negative for me. point to mention here that i bought this phone from a refurbished shop in BANGLADESH.
and yes im just like newbie so cant find my MID with the way you mentioned.

You do realize that you can update to marshmallow by simply flashing firmware without going back to stock, especially since you are S-Off, correct?

Still recovering, just back from clinic and a bunch of medicine :crying:
Your MID and the firmware version that you have is not tally.
Before I can give better direction, you need to decide what you want your device to be ...
First thing, let's forget about the "warning" due to S-Off for a while because that's the easiest part to fix... and the will be the last part.
Most important, where your location is ? Do you want it to be an Asia WWE device as your firmware installed ? Or you want it to be a US device as your MID stated or you want it to be a EU WWE device then we'll change both firmware and MID.

lots of thanks for reply even in such situation and sorry for bothering you. prayers are sending from here. may you come round soon.
about my decision......
1. i want to keep my phone with latest updated firmware without problem facing. here i meant problem because i think a stock rom may be provide better and smooth service than a custom rom. and yes my thought can be wrong as i'm just new in this field.
2. removing the warning but now keeping that away as you advised.
as now i'm staying in Bangladesh (southern part of Asia) so i will adopt with appreciation any approach that will be easiest way to achieve the above twos.

Thanks. Looks like exactly the same radio version as from the Egypt ROM, and a slightly "older" main ROM, but then that's still a lot later than the stock European ROM and this is a WWE one too.
As usual, bear in mind the usual warnings if you try any of this out.

Unfortunately, no. Assuming you have a TMO G2, this will fail due to CID lock. Welcome to the "screwed by VISIONary" club. Its a growing group, unfortunately. We need a TMO RUU, which doesn't exist yet.

Do you have S-OFF? If so, you can download the RUU, run it, copy the rom.zip from the temp folder and extract it somewhere handy. Make a nandroid backup from recovery and then flash boot.img, system.img and userdata.img (and probably also the two tp_ files) using fastboot. Mind you, this is a stock ROM, which means it won't be rooted.

That's what I meant, sorry for not being clear. The number is "older" than that in the Egypt ROM, but this is a WWE ROM so it's newer than 1.34 of course.
Installing this ROM could make your phone unrootable/un-S-OFFable, though.
Since the Egypt img files are only 20 hours newer than the WWE ones in this RUU and the first ruu we have is 1.34.405 could the third set of numbers be an indication of the distribution area?
Further info, from here: (taken from http://www.htc.com/europe/support.aspx?type=Others)
The new Build number after the update will be 2.73.405.93 (EU); 2.73.405.94 (TELNOR Denmark); 2.73.405.95 (Greece/ Ireland); 2.73.411.90(Russia); 2.73.495.90(Ukraine); 2.73.468.90(Turkey); 2.73.1100.90(Belgium)

So I'm guessing 405 actually indicates the language pack/intended area of distribution.

Hello everyone
I'm new and I read a lot of info in the forum after adding this thread. I just want to make sure what to do, please. Don't want a bricked phone
I recently bought a HOX Quad tegra 32gb from China by mail, comes with local chinese system.
After checking the rooting I was trying without success to install a sense based rom, like ordroidx and viperx. Can't boot after the installation. Even with fastboot boot.img command.
Finally the CM10 Rom could boot the device, but I want to get the apps based in the sense framework.
My guess is that the problem is with the hboot version.
So I tried to update Hboot from the version I have 0.43.0000 with JBFWTOOL21 and it stops sending me to this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543604
and telling me to download a RUU to be able to update my Hboot
Also tells that my device-main software is 1.29.401.11
The link doesn't work and I'm worried about choosing a ruu that ruins my phone.
Please give and advice.
This is the info from Hboot screen:
ENDEAVORU XE SHIP S-OFF RL

My question to you guys is can this be updated? should it see the updates?
or is it a bad phone (i can send it back if needed for a refund)
Thx in advance for any help on this matter cheers all
If you can send it back for a refund or for another phone, do it.
It is not a bad phone but not suitable for you at where you are located now.
That's a Sprint US device and the official update will come only when you're on Sprint US network, not on any other SIM free network.
And yes .. you post this in wrong section, I'll ask moderator to move this to Q&A section

I agree with the above that this is the worst version of the M8 to have (along with the Verizon version) if you aren't located in the US and on that actual network (Sprint or Verizon) for the following reasons:
1) Excessive carrier branding and bloatware common to most US branded devices
2) This version can't be fully converted to Euro version or any other version (to change radio baseband, OTA updates, etc.)
3) Can't flash many ROMs, unless they specifically support the Sprint version; or you install the proper kernel
Although points 2 and 3 above are mostly only relevant if you intend to mod the phone.
If the phone supports all the bands your carrier uses (3G, LTE) and you don't mind the Sprint branding,
you can still update it by RUU, with download link and instruction on the bottom of the following support page (be aware that RUU will wipe the whole phone):
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8-sprint/news/
Thank you. I was sure it had something to do with Sprint as under the current user in settings/about it is listed as [email protected]
thanks again for the speedy reply much appreciated I will send it back and get a UK version
Cheers

If it was Error 155, you need to flash the firmware.zip, then RUU (quirk with MM RUU).
But as you are returning the phone, I'd just not mess with it. Above is just an FYI, as it is confusing why the RUU that matches your version would fail.

then OTA to 4.21.512.5 but most probably you need to change the CID from SuperCID 11111111 back to stock LRA__001 for OTA to install successfully as explained here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67516629&postcount=26
Then you can install any Marshmallow GSM ROM with Verizon support.
Note : Never ever install any Verizon stock firmware or any GSM firmware to your device, it'll brick the radio and you'll lose network & data.
Think about it before you do it...

It's awesome you actually got great advice and refrences to how to do what you need to do. I'd like to add this though: Consider whether getting Lollipop is worth re-locking and doing the things you need to do, including putting your device from s-off to s-on is worth it. And yes, you can run a RUU executable and extract the rom.zip from your computer's temporary files, but unless you have some mad coding and manual programming experience, with the version of HBOOT you have listed if you want to be s-off again you may be out of luck. or find yourself in a bootloop or your computer unable to find your device, or even unable to access stock recovery even with the correct button sequences. At best, you may find yourself unable to access mms apn settings (not even sure if you need or care about that), and if you can access them (apn and mms settings), unable to get the settings to stick (or actually apply themselves so your phone even uses them at all), or only have internet access but no mms even with the exact settings for mms you need put into a third-party texting app such as textra. etc.
if you are already or end up s-on and updated to the "latest and greatest" for your M8, maybe everything will work out perfectly for you . But, just something to thing about before doing all of those things. If you are lucky enough to get a bonafide XDA member's attention and help, as you have already, you are still by default expected to think of these things and do your own research. What you probably won't find out along the way is that when you run into some strange problem, there's no one knowledgeable to help you decipher it. There's tons of unanswered posts on this forum alone that have been viewed many times, that go unanswered.

That's a wrong advise and wrong understanding.
Once a device is S-Off, there is NO NEED to relocking bootloader and there is NO NEED to change S-Off to S-On.
Only S-On device needs relocking bootloader to install signed firmware and signed RUU. S-On device can't install unsigned firmware or RUU.
S-Off device can install any unsigned or signed firmware and RUU (no relocking is needed and not advisable)

Leave it UNLOCKED so it will still be UNLOCKED after RUU is installed.
Whatever you do now or later ... no need to relock it, leave it UNLOCKED.
You can do OTA as this is not a Verizon device but LRA. Now you can't OTA because you have a Verizon ROM running. RUU 4.21.512.4 is stock LRA, you'll get OTA notification once you install it.
The only thing is you need to change SuperCID 11111111 to LRA__001 to proceed OTA (as experience by other user in the above link I gave you).
Frankly speaking I don't see any good reason to have SuperCID on this variant.
Once you updated to Lollipop you can use Marshmallow ROM which support Verizon (there are a few of them). Nougat .. not so sure but you can always try later after you updated to lollipop but definitely won't work on your current firmware which is a KitKat.
Hello guys,
I'm pretty new to the forum, thats why I'm not sure if theres another topic as this one.
Anyway I've bought an HTC One M8 from a guy on the internet. Well, I've received it today and tried to start it. The first thing after the HTC-Boot-Logo is the Bootloader. I've tried to factory reset the phone - didn't help.
Some other information:
Software status: Official
RELOCKED
M8_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT 3.19.0.0000
RADIO_INVALID_VER_INFO
OpenDSP_INVALID_VER_INFO
OS-
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Dec 1 2015,17:33:10.0
So, since I can't enter the OS, I don't know how to flash a new OS or a custom recovery. The only thing that works is the bootloader.
I appreciate any help, thanks in advance!

Post the results of fastboot getvar all here and we should be able to figure out the proper firmware/RUU for you to flash. Edit out your IMEI and serial# first before posting it.
Stuck in fastboot is the expected result after relocking the bootloader, as it expects RUU to be run.
Provide the getvar details requested by xunholyx in the previous post, and we can direct you further.
If no RUU for your version, the other option is to unlock the bootloader again, install custom recovery TWRP, and restore a stock TWRP back (or alternately a custom ROM).
But we need more info in order to determine which way forward, what files to use, etc.

The advice (run RUU, if his version has one) has already been given. It's not value added to give that advice again, until we have more info about the device (getvar data already requested twice); since the OP gave basically zero specific details.

Okay, I tried to flash TWRP and to unlock the bootloader again. nothing worked. And if I want to get more information with getvar there is nothing showing up - it's just loading forever... So I decided to change the Motherboard of my HTC, and well.. Now it doesn't work anymore... But still: thanks for trying to help guys!

Wow, you were probably not justified in trying to replace hardware; and probably an overly hasty decision. It was probably a fairly simple matter to recover via software related solutions. You probably were just not following the steps correctly.

Too late now, it looks like you ruined the phone. But FYI, you can't flash TWRP with a locked bootloader; it's simply impossible. So unlocking the bootloader should have been your main focus.
Fastboot not connecting is usually an easy matter to troubleshoot. Usually a matter of drivers on the PC, or a different cable, different USB port on the computer.
You also can't unlock the bootloader without fastboot. So that was probably the reason why your attempts to unlock the bootloader failed. Again, it probably would have been easy to get fastboot working, then either RUU (after giving us the getvar info); or unlock bootloader and install TWRP.
But probably too late for any of that, now.
