H815 SEA Variant OTA V20c - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I just received a notification for V20c. Anyone else using the SEA variant in SG receiving the update as well? I don't want to go ahead with the update as I'm curious how the battery life would be since all the Marshmallow updates thus far have been a bust for so many people.
Anyone who jumped on the update yet? If you did, do share with us the experience on V20c thus far. I want to make sure it works well before even risking the chance of getting the bootloop issue just by going through with the update hahaha.

I did the upgrade 800mb file size hope the batt life will get improved .. too early to say anything

Stuck on 1.15.401

I can't get an update of any kind. I'm seeing everyone w/ firmware 1.26 - 1.28 and it seems like I'm ages behind everyone.
1) Is anyone in the US with an International HOX getting any updates w/o
having to install something?
I remember reading that someone today in the US was getting the update but they had to tweak the software before their phone grabbed the patch.
Do unlocked phones in the US usually lag behind in terms of updates? I'm new to this sort of thing.
Muchos Gracias!
My update came a couple of days ago. No noticeable changes, but I'm not a very demanding user at this point.

I got it from HTC and not from retail. I'm pretty sure it was in the first batch or something. No flaws though so it's not the end of the world.
Here is to hoping it will grab an update of some kind eventually
I believe this should be the 1.26 update for your phone. I wouldn't jump the gun on doing an update to 1.28 becuase it will change your hboot and possibly mess up your ability to gain s-off at some point.

[Q] Force Firmware update to 8112/8773?

By now im sure everyone has updated their OS to 8773 or Tango. Im assuming most of us, especially Rogers Lumias, are still stuck on 8107 for the Firmware software (nokia's software, not microsofts) Is there any way to force update the firmware? especially with the stupid purple screen issue.
OP, please don't confuse people. You are waiting for the Nokia Firmware update: 2175.1003.8112.12085 to fix the purple screen issue.
Firmware updates have nothing to do with OS updates. They sometimes arrive at the same time, but that's only for convenience, not necessity. When Nokia, and or Rogers, are ready to push the Firmware update to you, you will get it. No idea, btw, what's taking them so long.

You posted this at 6PM last night... I made a thread early in the afternoon about how to do this (my way doesn't screw up future updates)...

No Lollipop Update

I have not received any update for Android 5.0 yet. I find this pretty odd considering it has been out for a long time. Everything seems to be functionally normally, but I never get any OTA update notification and it says I have the latest updates. Is this something to be concerned about, or am I just extremely unlucky to be one of the last ones to get it? Thanks.

The Nexus 7 is experiencing issues with L. My dad's device also didn't get it yet.
However, nothing stops you from flashing the image yourself from Googl's developer site.
This is the first time I've heard of this. Thanks for giving us all a heads up!
Oh wait, there's only about 10 other threads on the first page about this very issue.

Did Verizon stop the 12A role out?

Quick question for the forum. I was wondering if anyone reading has not yet received the VS98612A update (that is not rooted) that was pushed to some users at the beginning of October?
The reason I ask is that I am planning to sell this phone. First the touch screen issues, now I intermittently receive push notifications over WiFi which has kind of turned into a deal breaker for me. Since the upgrade, the touch screen and overall software performance have been great, BESIDES the notifications. Since I would like to possibly sell this phone I was wondering what the chances of me getting a referb with the 12A update if I were to send my current phone in for a replacement. Apparently my conscious won't let me sell a phone that has a known software big to someone who may completely unaware.... If only Verizon/LG felt the same way....
Thanks,
Nate

They pulled the update as far as I can tell. My VS98611a unrooted cannot see it. Was stoked about the Marshmallow update news until they apparently pulled the European update as well! LG, W T F!
I put my SIM back in my G2 and wow, its a way better phone experience. The antennas and camera aren't as good, but everything else feels like an upgrade IMHO.

I sent in my bricked 12A and got back 11A with no update in sight. So I'd say, send it back.
I'm trusting you lol. Just called and am having another one sent. Have a nexus 6P being delivered tomorrow, but will have to wait a day or 2 to activate it until I get my referb g4. Thanks for the update!

6.0

My question is since my ota update from 5.1 to 6.0 my battery life is terrible,I previously used greenify on the 5.1 and had fantastic battery life..mu apps are limited, none are apps the constantly aka messenger etc..I've tried everything from limiting screen time to using green along with the doze but into 6.0,, is it possible that the built-in doze is actually draining the battery life??. To me 6.0 was a terrible update, and is it possible to go back to 5.1, my phone is a vs985 lg4 with Verizon...it is unrooted also..can it be rooted and would that help??
