Hello everyone, after a great success on building roms for bacon device. I've decided to share my work with other devices. So I've started with angler! After positive feedback on the rom today I'll publish here the rom.
Kernel and Device tree are untouched so everything should be working smoothly. You can use a custom kernel in case you like, but i'll only give support to stock kernel as I do not yet own an device. So CM bugs are basically also our bugs, and from what I know there is none. Still I'm open to suggestions.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What changes have you made between versions?
A: All changes made are the same as CyanogenMod ROM which can be found here: http://www.cmxlog.com/13/bacon/ and all manual changes will be also stated on 2nd post.
You can also check on Settings --> About where is all the changes .
Q: What is LZ4?
A: Read here about the project: https://github.com/Cyan4973/lz4
Q: Was latest build used LZ4?
A: This is still under testing and I'm working on it. It'll be on the test folder.
Q: What is the test folder?
A: Unstable, and test builds where I seek to study a new configuration to enhance user experience.
Q: Why don't you always share change logs?
A: Limited time. Sorry about it.
Q: Why do you many times ask for donations?
A: Well... This work is free, and as you know if you like it and on your own free will you think I deserve and currently wish to help me out as I am currently going to become unemployed and as also I study for my Masters in Finance , I believe is only fair. While you use, I'm testing and investing my time on it. Should be rewarded because of that right? Is only fair.
Q: Do you receive alot of donations?
A: Since last year until today I've received around 300 euro. But I've invested 1000 hours on these android builds. That gives a ratio of 30 cents an hour.
Q: Why do you still invest on android since it doesn't provide you any feasible income? I would have already quited!
A: Basically this forum makes me relax.
Q: Will you leave cm builds when exodus is released ?
A: I didn't plan on giving my cm builds, but if exodus prove to be superior why should i have double work right? Only time and users will tell.
Q: I'm confused. I have no clue which build is the latest!
A: You can always download again!
Q: Your site have ads why?
A: Need help on extra wealth to survive. Leave some clicks while you visit is only nice.
Q: I want more from the rom!
A: Me too!
Q: Why you sometimes ignore users?
A: I never ignore, just don't have time to answer all. Please help one another and also use search button. I think you prefer me learning to bring something nice than post all the time right? hehe
Q: I have so many questions to ask you!
A: I can provide many answers! Just ask!
Q: Can I PM you?
A: Only when is urgent!
Q: How to report bugs?
A: Our bugs are CM bugs. Report on JIRA: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org
Q: Are you CyanogenMod maitainer?
A: No, just an user which wants to have better builds possible. But would be nice to see CM adding me to the contributions list.
Q: Why Slim gaaps? Open Gaaps are so much cool!
A: Open Gaaps has provided many unstable issues which makes the phone unusable until a clean format. Slim gaaps have shown to be better on that.
Q: Why some buttons of UKM don't work?
A: Need time to improve that..
Q: I want an update app to auto update roms. To lazy to check the thread!
A: I understand, for now is not feasible to do it as I need time to analyse and understand best solution as I update tool-chains regularly and also is not my priority. Remember time is limited for me.

Yes, I have heard good things about it! So if I do not change /system to F2FS then I will be able to flash this ROM and other ROMS as normal correct? As long as they support F2FS of course for the other partitions I have converted. But some recommend system as F2FS as well, if I did that then what is the draw back? I would have to convert ROMS to be able to flash correct?

Introduction
This is a test version of OmniROM with SGX DDK 1.9 graphics drivers, as well as many OMAP-related kernel updates. No, this isn't 3.4, but a LOT of TI updates were packed into the kernel. Currently, this is only for maguro, but anyone can build it for toro/toroplus with the sources.

Features
The ROM and the kernel has a stock feeling - no mods were added.
Most notable new features:
- SGX DDK [email protected]
- GPU governor
- Enabled 384 MHz GPU frequency (as a part of the OMAP updates)
- Tons of background changes for the kernel

Important notes
Camera and OMX is not working yet! This turned out to be a harder task for me to fix than implementing the new GPU drivers...
Other bugs are not known yet, but there may be some! Bug reports are welcome.
Thanks to everyone who helped me, especially Hashcode, as I used his repos as an example on how to set up things properly.

FAQ
How can I install this?
Just flash the ROM zip (and optionally GAPPS), and you're done.
Can I install this on top of Omni roms?
Yes, you should be able to do so without data loss.
Can I revert to non-1.9 Omni after this without data loss?
Yes.
Is this faster than the current ROMs/kernels?
As this is a stock-like ROM and kernel, not necessarily - there are no optimizations, etc added.
However, if one adds the optimizations used on current custom roms and kernels, this should be faster than them.
Can I install another kernel?
No, the new drivers require the ROM and the kernel side to match each other. Only this combination will work.
When will you fix camera?
I'm trying, but I don't have much success...
Can I help?
Sure, I appreciate any help, as I'm running out of ideas on how to fix camera and OMX.
Can I build this stuff myself?
Of course - everything needed is on my github. You'll need the following repos added to your Omni sources:
omni_android_device_samsung_tuna
omap (newpvr2 branch)
proprietary_vendor_samsung_tuna

Amazing! I will try out tommorow
I've installed it and it feels smooth, I've not encountered any bugs yet. Have you tried removing "kitkat workarounds" from frameworks/native?
Thanks for your awesome work
Nice work! Seems a lot more responsive although it may be placebo effect.
Thanks for posting this, I'm going to try building for toroplus, since we seem to get left out of the excitement so often. My internet connection is slow and so is my computer, so you will probably have everything fixed before I get a chance to even look for bugs.
Great work! I hope you manage to get camera working soon.
Amazing work bro, wishing u best of luck !!
I'm on F2Fs otherwise would have tested this asap...
Awesome work!
Thanks for the amazing work you've brought to the gnex, but since i'm on F2FS i was wondering if you could make a F2FS compatible version of this rom?

Yeah, but the glitches are still there. Actually, that may be a bug in android itself (it affects a lot of devices), they may have fixed it on L... and those workarounds are really not important, as the problem only comes when taking screenshots. And since android takes screenshots for the rotation animation, etc, those glitches appear there as well. The workarounds just force it to take screenshots on CPU-path, they don't change anything else.
I think they fixed it in DDK 1.12 (which is the next version after 1.9), but that's another story, as I think it does not support our GPU (but it may in the future).

I am fairly certain it will run, but you might not have access to SD card or camera. If not, find out if there is a GEE/b kernel you can flash afterwards or if the OP can create a GEE/b kernel since it looks like it has a new kernel, aside from any other currently available. I know I've never seen UnityMod kernel anywhere.
To the OP, if you ask any of the other kernel devs what changes they made to produce a Gee/b kernel of the same settings I am sure they would provide some advice.
EDIT: some changes may be necessary in the build.prop as well to allow access to GSM.
EDIT: Don't really want to be part of this thread anymore and I haven't said anything useful
Ok. I am the OP BTW. Founder/Creator.
The UnityKernel cannot be found. It's the major unique feature of UnityROM-2. How it is done is quite simple. To me. But I remember when I had this phone. How badly it needs a good stable ROM. Just like jewel did till I did this.
So trying to do y'all a favor lol. The best ROM for Evo LTE now coming to the next Sprint "Problem Device".

I saw you were the OP, that's why I quoted you too LOL. No worries. Thank you for building this ROM. I haven't tested it yet because I am working on getting the G3 port to work on our Sprint OG. But I am happy to check it out. I just wanted to let you know that you can build the geeb kernel too. I don't think it takes much, I think only adding or switching a branch for your build.
Also, if you created this ROM and built from sources, you might want to think about having this thread moved to Original Development instead of Development. This one is more for ports and changes to an existing rom in order for it to work on our phone. The new Roms and creations should go in the Original Development.

You did a great job, it works fine. I think you should continue to work on perfection of Rom. As far as I understand, you need to go to another forum thread(Optimus G Original Android Development). When using the camera - got two crashes . everything else works perfectly, quickly and smoothly! Antutu received 20673 balls without my optimization. Thank you for a wonderful job. I know little about it, but it seems to me that all is well. This gproj or aosp based? You use the new driver for the camera? Excuse me for my english.
Well thanks for the feedback. I'll run 2.7.0 for LS970 now. Tons of new things added for the build and kernel

Strange... I'm pretty sure I've read that it was supporting F2FS. Anyway... I won't argue if F2FS is good or bad. I've been using it since BSmitty featured it first time in the GNex, and I'm satisfied. So... back to my beloved Fancy, which supports F2FS without inconvenience.

f2fs is just experimental. tried it and actually .. it is not as stable as ext4. the whole story about f2f's performance over ext4's performance is just placebo effect. tried it on galaxy nexus and also on s4.. both models without any real benefit from f2fs system. EXT4 is just better and most stable. that's it.
Don't really know much about f2fs because i never used it...

mind i ask which kernel you tried f2fs with on a gnex? i gain 200+ mbs on writes with f2fs on my gnex on a bad day. && how can you actually prove is just placebo? have you done tests showing it doesn't gain ANY write/read performance compared to ext4?

f2fs support was in r398, franco just missed one or two commits for the ramdisk i think so f2fs didn't work....but @osm0sis'es last synapsed version works very well with f2fs on data and cache and system on ext4.

fancy and smitty. yes, it shows upgrade in w/r performance at tests but there is no feeling of anything better compared to ext4. Do you know why PA-Team has never supported f2fs? Totally because it's experiment. The same like ART in KitKat. You can send logs to check some bugs only if its on dalvik runtime, but if you were on art runtime nobody would even check your log. ART became official and fully stable in lollipop... i truly think that f2fs can become more stable but i don't actually know when. At this moment ext4 has nearly the same performance as f2fs but is times more stable. It is not worth spending this stability for such a performance upgrade.

I find F2FS absolutely stable, and I don't know in what manner it could compromise stability.
ART is working amazingly well in my Moto G, so I don't agree when you saying it's an experiment in KitKat. The fact that ART is choking for our GNex, doesn't mean it's an experiment. Are you a Google engineer to say that ART is fully stable in lollipop?. I think it never won't work smooth in our devices.
You defend EXT4. I defend Dalvik

THINGS TO READ BEFORE ASKING:
Use N4F26T Vendor Image for 03/09.2017 build.
Stock kernel does not force encryption.
Not prerooted.
Built for the Nexus 9 Wifi (but it works on Nexus 9 LTE too. Flash latest volantisg vendor IMG and manually set APN)

Starting from a clean AOSP environment, only specific features and fixes are included, which are personally tested ON HAMMERHEAD, with one goal in mind. To create a stock like android ROM, "as it should be".
This means, and I mean it, a ROM like how stock nexus image should be, for me.
This isn't going to get bloated. Most UI "features" are already there.
This isn't going to start picking commits relentlessly, I will test them personally and only add things that 1) work like they should 2) would fit in a stock ROM.
This isn't going to be updated very quickly. Only security and bug fixes will be pushed out ASAP.
This is going to follow Google's & AOSP guidelines as closely as I can.
And lastly, this is first and foremost a ROM about Nexus 5 (hammerhead). This is my personal device, this is where I test the ROM. angler, bullhead, flo, mako, shamu builds are provided AS-IS, and bugs/missing stuff/features especially for them will be put on the lowest priority and will depend on my free time. I will only guarantee the nexus 5 ROM and its abilities.
That said, welcome aboard!

CHANGELOG
Source Code: https://github.com/krexus
When @KreAch3R started building this ROM for shamu in 2015, I jumped on board right away. I've got Krexus running on every Nexus in my family: mako, hammerhead, shamu, grouper, and NOW flounder.
It runs beautifully on flounder and I hope you enjoy it too.
I am extremely grateful to @KreAch3R for all of his help and support.
IMPORTANT POINTS:
You have to flash GApps (Open or BaNks recommended)
ROM is not rooted, flash stable SuperSu for root
Busybox is included
Included kernel is stock no-force-encrypt
Flash newest factory vendor.img (I had Layers issues with stock selinux enforcing kernel on an older vendor version. Newest vendor.img works perfectly with stock kernel enforcing and layers)

BELIEVE ME, THE QUESTION YOU HAVE IS PROBABLY ANSWERED THERE.
Thank you for supporting the building for flounder, @buffal0b1ll!
For the next build, I will try to make Layers work with the default google kernel, and fix the processor info.
I want to specifically thank @BeansTown106, which device trees and blobs I used for this bringup.
Enjoy Krexus!

Finally, we are starting to get some more quality ROM builds for this device. This is just awesome.

Layers actually works fine with the default kernel and SELinux enforcing. An up to date vendor.img flash was all I needed to fix that.

I'm still using fire-ice 10.2.2 and haven't noticed slow charging. In 18 minutes I went from 27 to 35% just now. Ampere has me charging at 1460 mAh
Thanks for a great rom! Will it work with LTE version?

I'm glad you like it! I don't know, as I don't have either device. Are the ROMs interchangeable on these two variants? For reference, the device tree is highly based on PureNexus' excellent tree (both based on AOSP with very few commits). The kernel is the default google kernel for flounder.

Nope, just flashed the rom and mobile data works right away. Corresponding section in settings and mobile data tile are also there.

Got it. FYI I'd been manually vendor fixing the fingerprint since December on the Wi-Fi flounder and had layers issues on the stock enforcing kernel. Fire ice made it work with the old hacked vendor partition. To make layers work with stock kernel i updated to may factory vendor.img
Hey guys,
I've just managed to make a build of Cyanogenmod with lots of help by a guy called sultanqasim (actually he did most of the work), thanks a lot bro
Probably it's very bugy. Let's call it Pre-Alpha. Anyway, the build is ready and I need guys who'd like to try it out.
I chase GDrive for the first CM build. All Beanstalk builds are uploaded to the official Beanstalk AFH.
Currently working:
Display
WiFi
Bluetooth
Sensors
Audio through bluetooth
NFC
Broken:
Audio through built in speakers or headphones
RIL
Camera
Mic
Various other smaller things
Some Sprint users also report that it doesn't work for them. Just try it out if you like. Every tester's report takes the project a bit closer to stable builds.
Download Cyanogenmod (GDrive)
Download Beanstalk (AndroidFilehost)
To flash it:
in TWRP, reformat the userdata partition as unencrypted ext4. Go to Wipe->Advanced Wipe, select data, click on repair or change filesystem, change file system, and choose ext4.
in TWRP, go to Wipe -> Advanced wipe, and erase system, data, dalvik, and cache
flash the file by pushing it to your sdcard or you can use adb sideload. Also you can flash GApps optionally.
reboot into the system
Looking forward to your reviews. Thanks a lot
Good luck to all of you

Moderator Information,

Can't wait for CM13 on this phone. I know Squid2 has been a ton of work into this, from what I know, already a solid month behind the scenes.
device boots up? display?
thought this thread was closed till a download link was posted...
i don't seem to find any link or me gone blind lolll
edit:- just read that its opened for uploading the link so it seems upload is in progress
Maybe change the title with correct spelling of " Unofficial "
We've had a booting and partially working version of CM13 for a while now, it's posted by @squid2 somewhere in the guides and discussion thread. Which, makes me wonder, with all due respect, how this is any different from that build?Have there been any fixes to the broken things on that ROM (most of the radio, for example) that warrant this being a separate version of CM13?

i guess we would need to wait for the upload to be finished to see if its any different or the same as the Op doesn't seem to be much of responding to any comments
@krassermensch - Can you give us a list of what is and isn't working in your experience, at least?

Hey, squid2 is the guy I named sultanqasim in the first post of this thread as sultanqasim is his GitHub name. I managed to build Cyanogenmod with his help and his sources. He's the main developer. I'm just trying to make a more current build for those who'd like to have one. As a result my builds are based on his latest commits. I'm just the one who did minor patches which aren't as relevant as the ones squid2 performed. He's the more experienced one of us. You should treat me like a maintainer and him like the main ROM developer.

Hah, thanks for clearing that up - good to know. Didn't mean to attack you, just asking the questions trying to keep it all honest. So should we assume his working/not working list applies here?

Don't mind. I really want to let everyone know that the main work was made by sultanqasim as I'm not willing to steal anyone's work. I just want to provide a more current build of his work to the community. Assume some minor things have already been fixed but it's probable that you'll experience camera, nfc, radio... issues here as well... I also hope this'll be fixed soon
I'm really glad to see this coming along! Keep up the good work. I'm not much of a tester normally but I think Im going to give it a shot later tonight and let you know what issues I can find.

So glad to see the credits given, and insight to what testers will find.
Didn't want to see any drama, I thanks for putting the time in and squid for laying these ground work!

@krassermensch, thanks for your efforts but... If you're going to publish his work, how about updating the OP with his bug list and the title with pre-alpha. Just so users have more information, instead of the vague "it might be buggy". We know its buggy. Specifics about what works and doesn't is what people would like to know.
This still accurate?

Hi, I flashed your rom with the open gapps, booted up and connected to wifi and logged in through google. I don't have any cellular connection though. I am making a nano back-up of this and going back to stock until I figure out the cellular connection. Let me know how I can help or report bugs to you.

I think the RIL is not working yet which is what you need for the cellular connection. This definitely needs more work before its useable. But really good progress to date.
