Hi !
No, I tried a few ways (Kingo Root, Motochopper, Towel Root, Vroot, Z4root, Safe Root...) but still not rooted. I didn't try the SRSroot method because the Application wants an Update when I open it...
But this phone is really similar to the Snopow (same company or Chinese Copie..?) so I will maybe try this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2777140
But my problem isn't to root this smartphone, I just want to find a way to change some lines in build.prop =)

Hi !
I want to install the Xperia Apps because my last phone was the Xperia SP and it's quite difficult to change some habbits !
I read somewhere that changing the values model in build.prop was a way to force app to install
The SMS/MMS and Multimedia Storage Apps sucks but I don't want to speak badly of the phone, there is a lot of good things inthere :
- SOS button is really saffer
- The Camera is good
- It seems to be a Chockproff phone (I won't want to try but the weight is reassuring
- Aaaand YES ! The walkie Talkie works perfectly, most that I can expect (I use it in my job, with some CP040 Motorola, it was a pain in the a** to change parameters - frequencies by channels, CTCSS, GBW - with a computer, the Software and the COM Adapter)
Will you buy it or it just for personnal information?

And do you have the GPS app on the screenshot? Because I don't and I'm looking for it but I don't its name

Hi,
App always adds zero in what parameter ? What is the configuration of your distant walkie talkie ?
Is it in simplex or duplex mode?
Do you have any CTCSS on the distant walkie talkie ?
I don't have the GPS app that you show on the snapshot, do you have this on your version?

I try to screenshoot my parameters but it seems that you can't do this shortcut (volume - & power) in the app. So, I try to understand your issue and I think I see your point :
- when you input a frequency (like 445Mhz), the app changes the value to 445,0000 Mhz ...?
Sorry for the following explainations, I hope it will be useful for some people
To talk to another walkie talkie, you need to input the transmission frequency (TX) and the reception frequency (RX). On many commons devices, the RX & TX frequencies are the same (it's called a simplex mode). There is a limitation of this mode : you can't talk and listen at the same time, there is only one device who used the frequency.
You can also find a squelch parameter :
- The min value (0 in this app) means that you always listen the audio signal on this frequency. But it's really unconvenient when you are in a big city with a lot of frequencies (TV, radio, telecoms, others walkies-talkies...)
- The max value (8 in this app) means that you listen the audio only when the audio signal is stronger that your value (it's an approximation in this app, you currently express this in decibels). Not really convenient too unless you are nearby your distant device. :highfive:
The Power parameter is the transmission power (depends of your location and the range that you want to cover)
The GBW (or Gain-Bandwidth) is the audio bandwidth (12,5 or 25kHz).
The CTCSS value is a coded squelch (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System). It adds a tone in your audio signal what will be decoded by your receiver device (provided that your receiver had the same parameter ! ). You can easily find a code table on the World Wide Web.
Hope it will be useful for you !

Thank you for explanation I am really a noob for walkie talkie

You're welcome !
With this explanations, did you try again to use the app?
To talk to another device, you have to look for the channel bank on the manual, it could be useful to set the parameters
I think more and more people will have this smartphone, some big distributors in my country starts to sell it !
Good news, if someone is stuck with something, we can help each others !

anyway it is good to hear that this phone is started to sell in some offline shops, can you tell me

Hi,
Not in offline shops for the moment, just a online store but you don't have to explore all the web to find which is a pretty good thing !
I live in France, voilà, the secret is over
I didn't try a new root method, maybe some developpers heard us and try to do something...
I'll try in a few moments, if I've got some news, I'll tell you !

Need testers - new Online RadioX application

Hi guys,
I want to introduce you a new free software for WM called Online RadioX.
It is very important to know your opinion about this application. Please, test the program in your devices and tell us about bugs, lacks e.t.c.
Superb!
It's superb dude. I like the graphics too. How do I add stations?
Installed on my home brewed Topaz.
ps. I like your Online Tvx too. But not free.
No channel for my country, Malaysia.
Thanks, unfortunately you can't add stations directly in application.
If you want to add a station, please, complete new channel report form
...
quickly tested it before my battery goes dead
*delete .lnk from program files folder = not needed because a .lnk is in the start menu folder
* i think radiox has a problem with s2u2 auto lock.
#this registry string will add your app to the exceptions list.
(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2\Exceptions\"ExceptionEXE99"="radiox.exe")
if i like it ill add it to my rom
thanks
Rn
thanks in advance raving_nanza.
What is your device?
np dude,
using blackstone/touch hd
*is there a way we can make our own skins for your app?
thanks

theoretically possible to make custom skins, I'll consult with the developers

a database updater (don't need to install again whenever updated),
a language selector/indicator (can filter using default language of the radio),
and probably a ontime filter/indicator OR malfunction feedback button (lots of radio station return error, probably due to ontime of the station/the link is just broken)
hmm, and probably a suggestion link sender ( To send link of radio station of my recommendation to developer -- most of the time we only know the website, but have no idea how to extract the streaming link)
Going to the more advance and fancy side, putting a Globe/Global map where we can zoom into and let us filter content by region.
Enable background streaming and playing .... we seldom just listen and do nothing else, and probably schedule streaming recording (some of the radio show that we wish to listen but the timing is no good for some people on others side of the globe/on work)
that's all i can thought of from first run, actually this run quite heavy on ram (eat 25MB of ram when running ... probably some fat trimming as well)

[DEV] Xoom voice capabilities

I want to open new Thread about getting Informations for working voice capabilities at Xoom !
Here only DEV talk please !!!
EDIT: Found Information for MDM6600 from Qualcomm : http://www.qualcomm.com/media/documents/gobi-product-specs
the pdf file show up different types of modems and the Options: see attachment !!! so actually we could only say that its really actually Modem Version which doesn´t allow Voice Call
First of all i want to share some Informations i think we should know:

I hear what you are saying, thought about that too. Not sure the method to google/motorola madness. If it was that simple, the 2way mic'd headset would work. (tried it and it sadly does not) Keep in mind that our devices are one of the first tabs (old school - but great!) and were not designed to make or receive voice calls (with out help). With that thought ... some pieces of the puzzle may not have been installed. Who knows lol. There is a lot more going on for native support. This has nothing to do with SIP calls, we all know that SIP, Google Voice Skype Video Chat/calls, bluetooth blah blah blah .... work. I'm talking about straight up native outgoing/incoming voice calls via usb voice/data modem. Directly from the device. A couple of us are looking into it. There are so many unanswered questions with this device, makes your head spin.

http://developer.motorola.com/docs/tablet-support-for-telephony-and-4g-lte-networks/
However, in the tablet space, data is king! Most Android tablets, such as Motorola XOOM™ (the XOOM 4G LTE and XOOM 3G models), are configured for data only.

Sounds sadly ... i know ... seems to be Motorola remove Telephony Support complete ...
Because tablets are not phones, there are features that have been removed or work differently on tablets. Be aware of the following things that may impact your application.
Do not call the Dialer appYou cannot launch the Dialer from within your application. It is not included on tablets. If you link a phone number to the Dialer, you may want to add in logic to launch another app instead, such as Contacts.

If you plan to target specific carriers by filtering on radio technology, be aware that android.hardware.telephony.cdma and android.hardware.telephony.gsm are not defined features for tablets.
Even though you cannot initiate a phone call or modify the phone state, you can read the settings in android.telephony.TelephonyManager. There is a difference, however, in the data that’s returned from a CDMA/GSM device and WiFi-only device.

Need advise in design of application

HI all.
I'm creating application for search ATM with filters:
Bank (List of banks)
Payment System (VISA, MasterCard, Maestro)
Currency (USD, Euro, etc)
Location (Current, Select on the map, Saved Places)
Time (No matter, now, 24hour)
Distance in (yard, mile).
I don't like my UI now, there are many Spinner's. It would be great to get any advise how to make UI more attractive.
Thank everybody!

You can download some app by search like "atm finder" , "toilet finder", "gas station finder".
And learn from them
Truly try to ask less info and check material design tutorials

Like the design of the post above. Hope there is the possibility to search in other length units than yards? European people don't know how to deal with that
