MTK 6582 - Allview Viva H10HD - new partitions issue - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

MTK 6582
Hello all,
I am referring to my reply here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2455850&page=132) but since I got no answer for some time I decided to open a new thread.
I was trying to replace the EBR files since yesterday on my Allview Viva H10HD (MTK 6582) tablet without success.
What I did:
1. Installed MTK Droid Root & Tools 2.5.3.
2.Pressing root rooted successfully the device
3.Pressing Backup then lead to state where the process doesn't go further and stops at "preloader_and_dsp" (pic2) for hours...2
4.Only choosing Turn on USB storage lead the task finish with error - "Zero file, no space left on device" (pic1) 1
Without having a backup I will not be able to use the firmware for EBR 1 &2 files change.
In Device Manager I installed the Mediatek Preloader VCOM driver but no change (pic5)5
As a device, my tablet is found as YunOS ACB devide (pic4)4
Windows 10 was started with disabled driver signature.
Can anyone advice what the issue could be caused from ? My internal storage is just too low (700mb after factory reset out of 5.96gb total)

Can anyone help on the above ?

Can you please send my the firmware. Thanks

[Q] How do I prepare MTK65xx device for custom ROM?

Hello.
I have an MT6577 Chinese clone phone.
* Model GT-i9300 (alps I think) / Android 4.1.1 / Kernel v: 3.0.13
* Device has been rooted and "ROM Manager" installed.
* On an old Win XP 32bit Laptop, I installed: PdaNet USB driver, MTKDroidTools-2.5.3, sp_flash_tool-v3-1312 (v5 does not work).
MY QUESTIONS:
* BOOTLOADER: I wish to unlock and backup the bootloader. adb-fasboot does not work. I have found many tutorials, but mostly for more severe problems. My device is not bricked, so I imagine there should be a simple method to this. How can I unlock / backup bootloader?
* Are there any other steps I should take as preparation to flashing a custom ROM?
* Is there any way to check whether irreplaceable software (like bootloader) has been infected with malware or not (considering the rooting process)?
* Is it possible to load a kernel to device memory without flashing it? Many SOC devices (not phones) can load the ROM through tftp, which allows testing without flashing. If the kernel or other part has errors and the device locks-up, all you have to do is reboot and the device boots normally into old kernel. Does ADB do this?
* On linux, you can get full hardware output with commands like lsof. I have come across several methods to do this. What can you suggest for a complete hardware listing on the device?
* I use BSD/linux and I'm very comfortable with both. However, I don't have a grasp on Android-specific things like "scatter file" and the partitioning scheme. I therefore may not understand some of your "Androidspeak" if you can bear with me.
Thanks for your time.
PS: Forum server is very slow and it took forever to login. I am unable to view forum threads as well because of extremely slow server response. Other sites display at normal speed when this is having transfer problems.
General USB driver install guide for MT65xx devices MTK Droid & SP Flash tools
Here is a general driver install guide for any non-mainstream MT65xx device for those who may have problems communicating with your device. It has been tested and works with both of the following tools and including the Google SDK "adb" and "flashboot" facility. It's a little long in the guide department but I have duplicated using it on several systems and it always works. So maybe it will help you. The guild takes you through installing both a working “MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port” and customizing the Google SDK USB driver file “android_winusb.inf” to support your non-mainstream MT65xx phone with the tools MTK Droid Tools and Smart Phone (SP) Flash Tools. as well as ADB and FlashBoot and including support for powered off phone communicating via COM port to SP Flash tool. Enjoy!
Eratta:
- you will NEED to use a version of MTK Droid Tools earlier than V2.5.3 if you want a backup copy of your phone which includes the user data and memory cache.

NOW MY PART
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE THAT MY PHONE IS OT-918D
I didn't even know what was the imei of the phone was or the phone model but used SP-FLASH tool with many different versions of scatter files untill I came across the one that was used for installing recovery on ot-918 from a different website.
I even got to the point that the phone wouldn't come on after trying different models of the 918, but luckily usb worked.
WHAT YOU NEED
SP_Flash_Tool
One Touch Upgrade from Alcatel site
Scatter Files in the zip file below.
FILES TO USE ON THE SP-FLASH TOOL:
MT6573_Android_scatter_2_3_5_OT_918.txt
AND TICK THIS FILES :
dsp_bl
preloader
pro_info
NOTE: sometimes you have to press and hold the center button for the phone to be detected in order to accomplish the above procedure. Just make sure you remove the battery each time you try..
Then open the Alcatel Upgrade tool , this time it won't tell you that your phone is already up-todate. then proceed with the upgrade.
NB:MAKE SURE YOU USE A LOWER ANDROID VERSION E.G 2.3.5 SCATTER FILE OR ELSE ALCATE UPGRADE WILL SAY PHONE ALREADY UP TO DATE.
This applies to even a phone that won't come on(Mine was dead and couldnt come on only charging, and after fixing it, I discover that I had spoiled the display fiber since the phone was not displaying anything.)
Unfortunately I had to do the whole thing from a dead screen after pulling it apart prior to unbricking it.
You can find your serial number and phone model in the Alcatel upgrade file called otus_log.txt
Incase mine was in C:\ONE TOUCH Upgrade S 2.8.0\otus_log
I think that this method might work on all Alcatel MT65xx Phones.
But now that the phone works I have to get a new display.
918 Is dual sim !
After puling apart my phone which I have always assumed to be single sim(This apparently caused alot of confusion as to which Rom to use), I realize a second Sim card slot right beneath the top slot although it's hidden and not accessible if you replace the chasis , so you guys might want to try a possible second simcard for you 918 phones, that I suppose is the reason why some guys could install dual sim roms and fail to access fast speed since it's using the secondary sim card, I haven't tested it since I have not acquired the screen yet.

the error is one of the drivers lg
you should plug it into one of the main USB ports on your PC.
or rather entering device manager and re-assign drivers to ports.
Have you downloaded the lgup for lg g3 and g2?
Drivers are installed, USB debugging is enabled, LG PC Suite OK.not sure what else there is missing.

good after I found the problem LGUP
roms apparently change the model of the device as it changes cm11 to build Cyanogenmod 11 xx
AOSP - to AOSP rom 2 etc.
the solution would be to install a stock rom clean no matter if v10 v30 etc. The important thing is not having changed the model number and manufacturer.
I hope I have helped and sorry
that includes cloudy fa's roms

Hi !
How do I do all the above ?
My PC recognize the phone without problem, but LGUp won't start unless I "select a known model"... (LGUp window shows : Model = Unknown ; COM Ports = [COM5, CloudyG3] )
Problem is that my phone is softbricked after installing a new ROM, and I can only enter download mode (not even recovery). I just want to downgrade it and reflash a LG's stock ROM (or whatever ROM that would make my phone actually work !!! )
Can you help me do that ?

LGUP "UNKNOWN" and FlashTool failure with LG G3 (and possibly others)
When I downloaded and installed LGUP with the DLL installer stated to be for the LG G3, the program did not recognise the phone, reporting it as "UNKNOWN". The LG FlashTool also failed, reporting the IMEI and PID as NULL. After spending a lot of time on this, I twigged that the DLL file in the LGUP model directory was for the 8994 processor; but the G3 has an 8974, quite different and incompatible. I located the DLL installer MSI file for 9874 devices, uninstalled LGUP and the DLLs from Windows add/remove programs, ran the 9874 DLL installer and reinstalled the LGUP program, and everything worked.
The file is, amongst other places, on https://uptoandroid.com/download-lg-up-tool-for-lg-smartphone-latest/. Do not download DLL files for LG G4, LG V10, LG G3, LG Stylo, filename LGUP_Common_DLL_Ver_1_0_28_5 .msi, but instead For LG phones based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 SoC, filename LGUP_8974_DLL_Ver_0_5.msi:.

How to qfil Flash
When select qfil flash type, press power key, volume up and volume down key at the same time, then the phone enter into qfil mode, connect USB cable with PC, wait for PC install driver automatically, then press ‘Refresh’ button on the tool, serial port will display on UI, select the port you want to flash, and make sure there is no other qcom device connected.
Select corresponding flash zip file, the path of zip file should not contain Chinese and special character. (Under qfil mode, the tool can’t get hardware information, you should check if the software and hardware is matching yourself.)
Press ‘Flash’ button, then start to unzip flash zip file to current folder, but if there is already a corresponding unzip file existing, ‘Decompression folder is exist, re-decompress or not?’ dialog will pop up, if select yes, will re-decompress, else not. After unzip finished, start to flash the phone automatically, and the progress bar display flashing progress(for me the bar not move stuck %1 i did wait 15minute then unplug phone and push power button long time, and at the same time, the flashing log will also be shown on UI.
After flash complete or error happened, a notification dialog will pop up.
after phone start go boot logo and wait by the way open fastboot rom and push le_zl1_fastboot

If you have another storage problem, look for another solution.

I followed instructions but it didn't work.
What can I do in order to increase storage to 24 GB?
qfil mode error
Is it for restoring the original storge capacity for Le Pro 3? The reason why I'm asking this is becuase I am currently stuck on qufil rom because it keeps making error everytime I tried to go to the launcher. Will it work on my circumstance?

First of all, thanks to pst125675 for testing Android dump on HP Elite x3 Retail unit. So far I can say converting HP Elite x3 into Android is completely possible - although there're some known issues.
To download HP Elite x3 Android dump, visit here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/not-guide-android-dump-of-hp-elite-x3-for-future-use.4558603/
Known issues- IMEI will be erased. I don't know how to fix it for now, but you can make telephone call properly if your country/region's regulation doesn't require a proper IMEI value.
Known unaffected countries/regions: China, Russia.
- Unable to use fingerprint sensor, IR sensor.
- Difficult to revert it back to Windows 10 Mobile. Guess you don't want to revert it back anyway.
Applicable modelHP Elite x3 Open Market variant, both retail and prototype unit can be used.
Telstra and Verizon variants might be supported (same RKH), but they're untested - do it at your own risk!
DO NOT TRY IT ON OTHER WP MODELS!
Procedure for Retail Unit1. Disable Reset Protection (if applicable) in settings and downgrade the phone back to initial release (10.0.14393.953) with Windows Device Recovery Tool or FFUTool. If your phone is locked out from Reset Protection, there're some methods to bypass it which aren't covered here.
2. At this point, do not connect to Internet during the entire procedure. Enable Developer Mode and install Interop Tools, install NDTKSvc then enable Interop Unlock here. If you were always trying to hack your HP Elite x3 then I'm sure you've already known how to enable Interop Unlock.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...es-now-on-github.3445271/page-7#post-68463839
3. Copy attached registry file to the phone, disconnect the phone and import it with Interop Tools. After that reconnect it to your phone.
4. Connect your phone back to PC, and browse to EFIESP folder\Windows\system32\boot, locate resetphone.efi file and rename it to resetphonex.efi.
5. Download the debugprod package from here: https://gus33000.me/2019/01/05/secureboot-flaw-for-all-wp-devices-literally/ and extract developermenu.efi from it, rename it to resetphone.efi and copy it to EFIESP folder\Windows\system32\boot of your phone.
6. Power off the phone and press both vol- and power key to get Windows Phone Boot Menu. Use power key to select Mass Storage mode.
7. Connect the phone to PC. You can use something to backup entire eMMC before doing any further, like HxD from https://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD20 or dd. Open disk with read-only mode (choose MSFTPhone eMMC) and find somewhere with at least 58.2GB storage space.
8. You may want to backup QCN before installing Android (in case you want to restore IMEI). This part will be mentioned in replies.
9. Now use Rufus ( https://rufus.ie/ ) to install the extracted Android dump to your phone. You'll have to tick "List USB Hard Drives" so your phone will be listed in Rufus. When you're ready, click START button to start Android installation.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL! DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE DURING THE PROCEDURE, OR IT WILL KILL YOUR PHONE AND NO WAY TO REVIVE! IF YOU ARE USING A LAPTOP TO FLASH YOUR PHONE, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SLEEP DISABLED AND KEEP EXTERNAL AC ADAPTER CONNECTED!
10. Now wait 1-3 hours for the procedure completes. Once the procedure completes, force reboot the phone.
11. Your phone will boot into Android. You may see an error message in Chinese that told you decryption failed. Simply tap the button "恢复出厂设置" to perform factory reset.
12. Enjoy Android OS on your glorious HP Elite x3.
Procedure for Prototype Unit
If you're not sure if you have a prototype unit, check if your phone meets any of following conditions:
- HP Sample, Not for Sale is printed on the back
- You can see Not for Resale text displayed during boot
- No fingerprint sensor and a more generally known HP logo is used
If your phone doesn't meet any of conditions above, then your phone isn't a prototype unit. This part is not for you.
Simply follow this guide to put your phone into EDL mode, use any Snapdragon 820 eMMC firehose programmer to backup/restore the entire phone. The prototype variant allows you to revert it back to Windows Phone variant whenever you want.
[GUIDE] How to dump and write back the storage on most of Qualcomm devices
This is a generic guide that could be suitable for many Qualcomm based devices, once the phone can be triggered to EDL mode. To make sure this guide will work as expect, following requirements are needed: - Know how to trigger the phone to EDL...

Special Thanksgus33000 and Rafael Rivera for discovering the production signed Developer Menu and Interop Tools development

Bootloader Unlock
It's possible to unlock the bootloader after installing Android. However since I cannot find Fastboot driver that completely suitable for HP Android devices, you'll have to force install Fastboot driver for other OEMs on it.
Once Fastboot driver installed, the bootloader unlock procedure will be pretty generic. Simply enable OEM Unlocking in Developer Options, reboot to Fastboot mode and execute this command, then confirm bootloader unlock:
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
It's also possible to install Magisk root on this phone, simply use 7-Zip to open Android dump and extract boot.img inside, then patch it with Magisk.
Backup QCN
This procedure can be only done before you convert it to Android.
To enable diag port, you'll have to download attached diagnostic.rar , boot the phone into Mass Storage mode and execute this command under Administrator privilege. Assume your MainOS drive is mounted at drive G.
Code:
enableQCComp.bat G:\ SerialCompositeConfig
EnableMSFTStack.bat G:\ SerialCompositeConfig
Once 2 commands were executed successfully, reboot it back to normal OS and make QCN backup with QPST.
How about revert it back to Windows 10 Mobile? You'll need to build a TWRP, which obviously isn't available. Or at least enable Rooted ADB Shell under stock recovery.
I'm sure developers are talented enough to modify boot/recovery images to have it enabled.

For Windows, right click on Update Driver, Select Driver manually, and choose All Devices, select any generic Fastboot driver you have installed.
Fastboot driver installation is unneeded for Linux distro or macOS.
A known working driver is the Google driver provided on Google website: https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb
Many thanks for your reply. I am struggling to enter fast boot mode.
adb reboot fastboot is not working, only adb reboot bootloader. Then I get the same menu as with "Vol - + Power" buttons combination :
START
Restart Bootloader
Recovery mode
Power Off
Boot to FFBM
Can you please explain how you got into fastboot mode in order to execute fastboot flashing unlock? I have already extracted boot.img from the dump, many thanks

I think I have tried that, but the phone was simply invisible to the computer.
Fastboot devices command was returning zero devices, but before that adb reboot recovery was working thus restarting the phone into this mode (fastboot mode).

also, I was thinking, how realistic is to have a working TWRP for our phone and maybe some custom ROMs? Is it too much to hope for this model? )))

I made a barely working TWRP based on existing ZUK Z2 TWRP.
I said "barely working", which means only ADB commands will work, you can't touch the screen at all. Also it exceeded 64MB so you can't flash it right into your phone, you can only boot into it with "fastboot boot twrp.img".
I'm not ready to post this to public.
Does it allow to work with hp lapdock (screen+keyboard accessory for the x3) from this android fw?

First of all, thank you for making a guide on how to install android to the Elite x3.
I've got a problem, after changing the registry files of the windows phone (step 3), the phone doesn't show on my computer. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
