[Q] Can I update to Jelly Bean w/ OTA while rooted?

Hello!
The title pretty much says it all! Is it OK to update my One X through an OTA while I'm rooted on ICS?

Don't do an OTA update if you have a custom recovery ! As you can see in my thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043818) you will be stuck on htc boot screen, and if you try some random method that you found on the web like i did, you might have to restore your phone with RUU . Make sure to have a stock recovery and a stock ROM before doing the update. I don't know if you have to relock the bootloader, someone with more experiences should be able to answer this

Root is no problem. You have to be on
Stock rom
Stock kernel
Stock recovery
Bootloader can also stay unlocked.

So I would just need to flash stock recovery.

how to change WFS from custom to stock rom?

guys please help me i want stock ROM back from custom Rom...i formatted my card because of which all backup got deleted now i want stock ROM back how can i do this?

is ur device bootloader unlocked or locked? if its still locked then just download ruu and execute it.. otherwise u need to relocked bootloader back .

There are two ways to do that: Flash the a stock rom or use the official RUU(ROM Update Utility). Flashing the ROM will keep your phone rooted, but in order to use the RUU you have to relock the bootloader and your phone will not be rooted anymore.
You can find the files (ROM's and RUU's) here. I only used the last one from that list (RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed.exe). Didn't try flashing a rom.
In order to install the RUU, first you have to install HTC Sync (for the drivers), then you have to relock your bootloader using bltool. Just boot into recovery, flash the zip, and select LOCKED or RELOCKED, then reboot, connect the phone to your PC and run the RUU. You might have to reboot into bootloader if it won't work at first and install the RUU while the phone is in bootloader mode.

Download a cwm flashable stock rom and flash it

i restore my stock OS recovery image, if you dont have tat you can download the stock rom in the android development section

hello im confused on what all is going on can someone tell me how to update to official t210r kitkat 4.4.2 and then how to reroot/install custom recovery
@gr8nole can u help pls also how
also if i flash the official kk for t210r would i need to install your custom kernel or what again sorry just confused

If you want to flash the full firmware, then download it from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin.
Then you can install custom recovery with Odin.
Be aware that if you flash the full firmware package, it has a new bootloader that doesn't play nice with custom recoveries. If you use any software method to boot into your custom recovery, you will get stuck in recovery and must flash stock recovery to be able to boot the OS. You can use a custom recovery only if you POWER OFF; then use the 3-button method to boot into your custom recovery.

Hey guys ive gitten up to the point now where im rooted running cwms latest touch recovery. I need to upgrade my bootloader in order to flash any 4.3+ roms. Can someone help me with this process. Can I just flash the latest bootloader or can I flash a rooted 4.3 rom and flash the new bootloader after? Kinda stuck at the moment with the stock rooted 4.1.2 rom running latest cwm touch recovery.

The link you posted leads to a rom thread. Is there something specific in there I should be looking for. The one you lead me to talks of downgrading not upgrading

[Q] About rooting 4.4.2

Hi, I had problems with my phone lately and I made them worse and the phone got stuck on boot animation. So I just flashed stock ROM via ODIN... Only now I know that if I flashed 4.4.2 my bl is now locked and I can't root and install other ROMS, is it true? Is there a way to fix it?
