ARHD 6.0 requires a 3.xx firmware...
Also....what version of TWRP did you use...
(needs to be the latest beta from captain's twrp thread)
Lastly....did you allow TWRP to install superuser prior to boot ?? (Will bootloop)...
Check those items....g

You need to update your firmware to 3.xx.
Your recovery is not the correct version....and you flashed an incompatible version of SU....
Flash the appropriate firmware...
Then reflash the rom...
Then flash the correct SU via the new recovery...
Do not allow TWRP to install SU...
That is flashed by you...
Read and re-read the threads pertaining to ARHD...and recovery...
It's all there....
And now we know why the device doesn't run...g

can you post the links in here i need, i cant find them somehow and i wanna make sure that i´m using the right ones

ARHD 6.0 requires a 3.xx firmware...
i am in the same position as you mate you cannot install ARHD 6.0 as it requires a 3.xx firmware... you have to make sure the rom you want to install has the correct or corresponding firmware on your device first so if you want to install that rom you will need to update your firmware to 3.xx and as you are s-on you can only install the official over the air (ota) update which will update your firmware aswell so to do this you will need to install the stock 2.10.xxx.xx rom i would use the 2.10.401.1 software that will take you back to stock you then need to relock your bootloader and then update your device with the official ota updater from vodaphone which i am still waiting for is due very soon once you have done that you can re unlock your bootlaoder install twrp again and now as you will have 3.xx.xxx.x or 3.05.xxx.x (not sure of the software no as it has not been released in the uk yet for vodaphone devices it may have been released for other countries or the us im not sure) you could however also s-off your device using sunshine update your firmware to 3.xx.xxx.x and then update your rom pm me if you are still stuck as we both have the same phone and problem and version firmware and software

Hey, I´ve just decided to stay like that on ARHD 14.0 untill there is a firmware update for my 2.10.161.7 because I dont want to destroy my system and I changed my status to S-off now.

You can do the firmware update now you are s-off let me know if you wa t to know where to get it and how to do it I am doing the same I am already preparing for it just waiting to pay for s-off and I will be doing it

Gents...
No need to relock your bootloaders for OTA..
ALL YOU NEED...is a stock system image and recovery...g
Edit:
The reason for leaving the bootloader unlocked is simple...
If any part of system is not correct when you relock....you will be unable to unlock again later...g

can anyone give me a little guide how to update the firmware with s-off

Read the information below very carefully....then read it again....
Not trying to sound rude or condescending.....but firmware flashing can be a brick level event if the wrong software is used etc....
A lot of information here....and I've never found a better written thread...
Read read read.....and happy flashing....(go to first page of thread)...
Standard disclaimers apply...and you do this at your own risk....g

[Q] Flashing update help

Hello.
I need some help with the update process on the HTC ONE X.
Here is my phone info:
Code:
Android version : 4.1.1
S-ON
version-bootloader: 1.36.0000
version-baseband: 5.1204.162.29
version-main: 3.14.708.28
platform: HBOOT-T30S
cidnum: HTC__622
I have CWM Custom recovery and the bootloader is unlocked.
I am trying to update the software to the latest one available.
Here is what I tried:
1)Performing a regular OTA update. It won't update.
2)Getting the OTA zip and flashing it trough CWM. After this I am stuck in a bootloop.
3)Using<RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_hTC_Asia_HK_3.14.708.28_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_299865_signed> . I get Error 132 signature error.
4)Running <<RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_hTC_Asia_HK_1.29.708.15_Radio_2.1204.122.17_release_268338_signed>. Gives an error regarding the bootloader version.
4) Extracting the zip from <RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_hTC_Asia_HK_1.29.708.15_Radio_2.1204.122.17_release_268338_signed>, flashing recovery, boot, and system img, relocking the bootloader and runing the <RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_hTC_Asia_HK_3.14.708.28_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_299865_signed> . Again signature error.
Right now I restored a nandroid backup.
Could you please point me in the right direction? I'm not really a beginner in flashing but coming from Samsung, flashing One X is very time consuming and honestly I lost my patience.
I think I got the right firmware (considering cid) but I may need to flash something from the stock rom before I can update.
I just want to update to the latest stock rom and if possible to a custom one. So, can you guy provide some info and maybe some links about what versions could I flash considering the information about the phone posted in the opening?
Thank you.

I tried that already.
All you had to do was flash the stock recovery.
To get ota you must have stock Rom, stock boot.img and stock recovery. You do not have to lock the bootloader for ota but you do before you run an ruu, which is probably why you got a signature error on the first one. And lastly, you cannot run an ruu which is lower than your main version

Thank you for the info. Is the recovery from the clockwork nandroid backup the right one or could you please point me to a link with the right stock recovery?
And one more thing: is Android Revolution HD compatible with my phone?

No, the recovery in the nandroid is a custom recovery. You can get the stock recovery from the general section from the "collection of stock nandroids" thread. Or you can Google "3.14 stock recovery" and look for clydeb1's dev host account, he has a load of recoveries listed. And yes, arhd is compatible with your phone, as is any other rom in the one x thread.

[Q] Firmware flashing 2.22.401.4 for HTC_044 CID

My M8 has the CID of HTC_044 and I would like to flash latest ROM. However it requires latest firmware, ie 2.22.401.4, I am wondering if it is safe to flash the firmware to my device being with different CID as the firmware's android-info does not contain my device CID.
I have S-OFF on my device, I am wondering if I change mt CID to supercid would allow my device to run the firmware without issue.
Thanks in advance.
Yep,if your phone is supercid,u can flash that firmware...

If your firmware for CID HTC__044 is 2.22.707.3, it is not necessary for you to flash another firmware to run a 2.22.401.4 ROM.
As long as the firmware is 2.22.xxx.x ... you're good to go.
Anyway it's up to you if you want to flash 2.22.401.4 firmware but your Radio will be the EU region if the firmware that you flash come with radio image. If you currently in Asia, it's best to keep 2.22.707.3 firmware

When we read firmware we look at x.xx.707.x not 2.22.7xx.x
You don't need 2.22.707.3 firmware if you already done the OTA update.
Please advise your current firmware that you have ... check what is written on the bootloader ... is it 1.54.707.7 or 2.22.707.3 ?
If it is 1.54.707.7 then you need to do OTA update.
If it is 2.22.707.3 then you're good to flash any ROM.

Couldn't check my firmware version as the OS field is empty in the bootloader.
Hboot: 3.16.0.0000
Radio: 1.16.2133156.UA10G
But I highly doubt my firmware is 2.22.707.3, I would think it is more likely to be 1.54.707.7 as I have rooted by phone before newer firmware roll out.
So can I use your firmware in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376&page=141
and flash it by using this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/vomerguides-m8-bootldr-unlock-s-off-t2800727

Right ... your current hboot is 3.16 so it's 1.54.707.7
I suggest that you restore 1.54.707.7 stock Backup, flash back stock recovery and do the OTA (no need to relock bootloader or S-On .. OTA update work on unlocked bootloader and S-Off)
I don't post firmware on XDA. Those that I posted are recovery and stock backup.
If you insist to update firmware without OTA update .. that's you call. Someone maybe will guide you how to do it as I don't feel comfortable telling how to update firmware.

Great
Now you can flash any Sense 6 custom ROM that you like.
Only remember that you don't need to flash another firmware, your current one is good enough.. just flash ROM.
I am having the same issue - I have the HTC__044 and need new firmware to get the newest ROM.
I am S-On and CANT get S-off (s-off needed to flash firmware)...firewater does not work with my phone after multiple tries.
I tried getting Sunshine to work for s-off, but I need to be on a stock Sense ROM (I am on Viper 1.8) and don't have a stock backup. I can't find ANY stock ROM's online! Once I have supercid i was going to flash firmware, but without S off...I'm going nowhere (it seems)
anyone have an idea where I should start?

Everything that you need is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
1. Restore nandroid backup 1.54.707.7
2. flash stock recovery 1.54.707.7
3. reboot and check for OTA
4. install OTA
5. done .. your ROM will be 4.4.3 - 2.22.707.3
6. flash any 4.4.3 custom ROM that you like if any
All above no need to relock bootloader or S-Off, it works on S-On
If you want to S-Off with sunshine, step 1 & 2 then sunshine
or after step 5 then sunshine (both way should work)

I'm still a little on the noob side with rooting/flashing..I am at work and don't have time to read much - i will go home and give it a go... I'm sure I will have lots of questions
A quick look at the site, i saw lots of recoveries but not very many stock ROMs. I mainly just need a plain/rooted stock Sense rom to run Sunshine. After which i can flash new firmware, then the new custom ROM i've been wanting. Also, does a nandroid HAVE to be HTC__044, or can it be any WWE cid? (like anything that's "HTC__xxx")?
Excuse my ignorance...trying to learn as much as possible
I just got my m8 from Tmobile today, and I am on firmware 157.531.7
I've checked several times for updated firmware, but always comes back nothing.
Am I stuck on this, or will it take awhile for the network to "see me" and send it?
not rooted, fully stock for now
thanks so much!

If your main purpose to restore to stock to get SunShine working, then any nandroid backup will do either HTC__044 or WWE. You don't really need a rooted stock as SunShine works on non-rooted ROM too.
As you said you're a noob, that is why I suggest to restore to 1.54.707.7 then OTA to 2.22.707.3 so you don't need to manually flash firmware to get other custom ROMs running flawlessly. It is not necessary to have 2.22.401.4 firmware but it is necessary to have a 2.22.xxx.x firmware for those custom ROMs, unless you're not in Asia.
As you can see in my sig, I'm on 2.22.707.3 firmware, I can run any ROM without problem.
Being a noob, you may make a stupid mistake when flashing firmware.
There is also by mike or so a stock Rom as a zip.
Flash it like a custom Rom Flash the stock kernel and better the recovery and do sunshine...easier then with getting nandroid backup etc

Hi One-M8-Master,
I've read quite a few of your posts & given that your moniker seems appropriate, I'm wondering if you might be able to help me?
I've posted this on another thread but haven't got very far as yet, so am hoping that you might be able to get me out of the stupid hole I've dug myself into :fingers-crossed:
It is quite a long description but if you don't fall asleep reading it, I'd really appreciate any help you might be able to give me.....Here goes:
"Hi Guys,
Now I know you're all already thinking that I didn't update my firmware before I flashed ARHD & now I'm getting all the problems that come along with not doing that......& you'd be correct....kind of. HOWEVER, as it turns out, I already seem to have it. Let me explain.
As you can see, I'm relatively new to all this but successfully unlocked, rooted & installed a custom ROM on my ASUS TF700T tablet, so I wanted to do it with my One M8. I always do loads of reading before I start anything (I even read the instructions for new games before I attempt to play them because I'm a bit weird like that!) but what happened on this occasion was that I did the reading, unlocked the phone, flashed TWRP, & rooted it but then ran into the problem that some people appear to have had when trying to s-off via the adb commands & Firewater, that is, my pc could see the phone but when I gave the reboot command, it told me it wasn't connected.
I then got into hours of reading to try & solve this issue, discovered that (without Sunlight) on some devices it just doesn't work once you've accepted the 'should we allow this pc to connect every time' message (which I NEVER normally say 'yes' to), unless you install the Android Studio & Java Develpers Kits, update your version of adb, & force the phone to ask again (which I did but it turned out that I already had the latest version of adb, so that route proved fruitless!). I actually missed a night's sleep trying to resolve the problem, so work wasn't good the next day! but I think it is here is where my problems started because I was so tired & frustrated that I just picked a ROM & flashed it. I had even read the warning about not flashing it if you didn't have the correct firmware but I think that being so tired, it didn't really sink in, or I'd forgotten about it by the time I just flashed the ROM.
By this point, I'd been sat in front of my pc for about 30 hours & needed to go to work but the phone was actually booting through to ARHD, so I was relatively happy in the knowledge that at least I hadn't bricked it! On starting to use the phone that evening, I noticed the long boot times & then that my Sense 6 Toolbox didn't seem to be making any changes, even if I rebooted the device, so I went back to the beginning of this thread & started reading again. Thus, I re-read the firmware warning & panicked (my 2nd mistake!), thinking that I was getting the problems because I hadn't updated the firmware (it still didn't occur to me to just check because I think I just assumed that I wouldn't have it). So.....I tried to restore my TWRP backup of the stock ROM that I made after I had unlocked/rooted, with the intention of reverting to the stock ROM, getting the OTA update & then re-flashing ARHD but despite TWRP telling me that the backup had been successful, the phone went into a bootloop back into TWRP. I solved this by re-flashing the ARHD ROM that I knew at least would get my phone out of the bootloop & back into KitKat, which it did. I then checked what version of the firmware I had & to my surprise, my Build Number in About\Software Information\More says "2.22.401.4 CL365360 release-keys", so it looks like I had the correct firmware version all along?
The above being the case, I'm now puzzled as to why I'm getting the problems that I'm getting with ARHD? Does anyone have any clues/answers that might get me out of this hole I've dug for myself & get my awesome One M8 working like it should?
I know I've caused this problem by doing things when I was too tired to think straight but I'm fresh as a daisy now (still fairly noobish but fresh ) & now I need your help to sort myself out. I would be so grateful for any help anyone can give me to get me back on track.
I hope all of that makes sense & thanks in advance."
@dan5001
The firmware you speak of is the displayed version main number of the flashed rom. It has no relation to your actual installed firmware. Check your bootloader and post here what it says. I bet it is still hboot 3.16 and if that's the case your firmware is not updated.

Hi.
This is my own fault but I'm getting really frustrated with it because I've probably spent a total of 40 hours on it so far
I tell you that because I know that I needed S-OFF & SUPER CID to be able to update my firmware, so I just thought "screw it" & I paid for Sunshine. I now have S-OFF & following Vomer's guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/vomerguides-m8-bootldr-unlock-s-off-t2800727
I now have S-OFF & SUPER CID. I thought that would be the end of my issues but it would appear not!
Looking at my bootloader, you are correct, HBOOT is 3.16.0.0000!
However, I've tried to upgrade this firmware by downloading what I think is the correct update .zip from the list at the bottom of the aforementioned Vomer's guide (v2.22.401.5 (Rename to firmware.zip after downloading)), renaming it as suggested, & then flashing it in TWRP but it just keeps telling me that the update has failed!
Do I have to do it using the adb commands on Vomers guide? I didn't think so but it's just not working??
I appreciate any help you can give me with this. Given that I've spent so long on this & have paid for Sunshine, you can see that I'm trying to help myself but I've still got rain!!
EDIT
Just a thought, I do still have ARHD v10.2 installed at the moment because even though it's not working properly without the correct firmware, it's the only ROM I've got at the moment, so it means I can use the M8 to a degree; would that cause the problem with upgrading the firmware?
Firmware flash can be done via fastboot commands, that's how i did it
Installed rom has no influence on the to flash firmware, try it via fastboot

[Q] how to update to least lollipop

hi all
my friend tried to update his phone, and all he's got is:
the phone can't boot into recovery. stuck on "entering recovery"
insert coin rom (v 3.0.8) works fine, except the play store!
i tried to flash a new recovery with no success. finally i flash a twrp by captain throwback version 2.8.0.6, and wow it works!
now, i'm wanna to update his M8 to least android version.
fastboot getvar all:
m8_ul
s-on
CID: HTC__K18
MID: 0P6B10000
HBOOT: 3.16.0.0000
version main: empty
settings >> about >> software information:
android version 4.4.2
sense 6.0
InsertCoin version 3.0.8
build number 1.54.401.10
can i simply flash 4.16.401.10 firmware.zip, least TWRP version, ARHD 34.0 (don't worry i don't forget the boot.img )
or
it's better to return to stock and perform software updates?
by the way,
the build number in settings, is the current firmware.zip that installed? or the firmware that the rom based on??
thank's
i read somewhere that its safer to flash firmwares in row, start at 1.54.401.10 then the others in the x.xx.401.xx line
you can also try simply to flash the latest RUU. maybe you get some wifi errors.
i was on 3.xx.401 firmware and installed the 4.x DEV RUU without any errors
yeah the build number in settings shows the rom base.
ok, thanks

so, i cannot know the exact firmware he has..
i'm asked that because the safest way to update is going back to stock. i found only 1.54.401.5 NAND Backups.
i'm afraid to flash the wrong nand backup..
how can i know which firmware he has?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
If you want to go the save way Try the 1.54.401.x RUU.exe from the thread. Then you should be fine to apply the otas
Dont be to afraid from flashing wrong files in most cases your phone wont get bricked it just dont boot up

Version main is empty because of the older recovery. Try to flash TWRP 2.8.4.0 again.
You can't flash the firmware zip without being S-Off. Sunshine is the only way to do it now, and it costs $25 (totally worth it). Or you could return to stock and take the OTAs. (stock ROM and recovery plus unmodified system partition)
The build number in settings is in fact the ROM base, and not the current firmware version.

first thanks for your help!
i will try this tomorrow .
on my m8 I bought sunshine (totally worth it) agree
but before i have s-off i'm flashed new firmware.zip (you have to relock your bootloader)
s-off lets you to flash firmware.zip without Signature and without relock

Another part of the problem is that HTC updates incrementally. You can't just leap frog from 4.4.2 to 5.0.1.
Once you get S-Off, you can flash a firmware zip from this thread. @Sneakyghost makes his firmware packages so that you don't have to flash each update one at a time. You can just jump to the newest.
But.....from the readout on the earlier post, it is WWE and there is an RUU for that. It is signed, so it should work. It will only get you to 4.4.4. (3.28.401.9 is the newest on this thread). You could try to flash the Lolly firmware after you have updated to this.

OTA to 4.19.617.1, this package is for htc_himaulatt devices; this is a htc_himauh

Hi Folks,
I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction please. Here's the story:
I bought a T-mobile branded HTC One M9
Changed it to WWE and ran with a it for a while without issue
Changed to Dev edition and applied the Android7OTA.zip (4.14.617.6) then TWRP, currently running without issue.
I got a notification of another OTA (4.19.617.1) earlier this evening.
Flashed the stock recovery I extracted from the android 7 dev RUU
Downloaded the OTA on the phone and once the phone booted into the stock recovery, I'm told:
'this package is for "htc_himaulatt" devices; this is a "htc_himauhl". Installation aborted'
Fastboot getvar all currently shows:
(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_himaulatt
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) serialno: xxxx
(bootloader) current-slot:
(bootloader) imei: xxxx
(bootloader) version-main: 4.14.617.6
(bootloader) boot-mode: download
(bootloader) version-baseband: 01.01_U11440971_103.00.61018G_F
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
(bootloader) mid: 0PJA11000
(bootloader) cid: BS_US001
I've read of using a cid of BS_US002, I've changed to that and retried applying the OTA, but it did the same (so I changed it back).
Assuming the Product reported by fastboot is what's being checked... fastboot's reporting it's already set to what the stock recovery seems to be saying it needs to be. It was happy flashing the first RUU, I'm not sure what might be different this time round.
I bet there's a small thing I might need to change, but I don't know what.
Does anyone else please?
Also.. I've not found much info at all about the OTA to 4.19.617.1. Is it new enough that me somehow getting it off the phone (will probably need brief instructions) could be useful to anyone?
TIA!
Currently having the same problem.
Will post here if i have any luck.
Thanks philicibine.
I've just tried it with supercid too (fastboot oem writecid 11111111), but it didn't do the trick.
Before the phone reboots into the stock recovery, it says ''we have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its system software....'.
ok so my phone is currently accepting the update!
The problem for me was I had installed TWRP. In trying to restore the stock recovery i was restoring the one from the NoWipe firmware file i used to upgrade to Nougat.
To solve, I extracted the recovery.img from the OTA.zip and flashed that.
Almost finished updating!
here is the recovery.img if you want to try it >> https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzkydKcZdx9YWW55UDlIOV95UDA

It was the stock recovery from the first android7 devRUU that I've been trying this with. Which OTA did you get this one from?
I've flashed it and the newest OTAs downloading again as I type..
edit: the file you posted a link to (thanks!) and the recovery I was originaly using are definitely different... My phones just failed to apply the update again, but given a different reason 'system parition has unexpected contents'. Guess I've not left system untouched as I thought.
I've just tried extracting system from the original devAndroid7RUU.zip and now I'm getting errors about it not being able to decrypt the .zip.. so must have somehow taken the recovery from another RUU.zip earlier this evening (which wouldn't have been a devRUU, but a WWE-explaining why it reported my phone didnt match the dev edition details). I was doing it remotely form work, while working-must be more careful, I guess.
This means I cant extract system from the right RUU.zip though.
I think I could flash the RUU.zip again (wiping everything, grrr), then let it install the later OTA before doing anything that could amend system.
I'd realy like to not wipe it if posible though.
How did you get the recovery you posted out of the OTA.zip please?
It maybe the same recovery then as I got it from the Dev ota. Seemed to work for me. Maybe you could flash the nowipe firmware and then this if it doesn't work?

I simply unzipped it. It was in the firmware.zip archive inside the OTA.zip
I'm pretty confident the two recovery's are different, my phone does different things with the OTA depanding on which of the recovery's I've flashed.
I used 'HTC_RUU_Decrypt_Tool_3.1.0-WINDOWS64' to extract the recovery from what I thought was the devRUU.zip. This wont open the devRUU.zip now though, so I must have had it extract the wrong RUU earlier.
I've just flashed the stock android7 firmware and the recovery you posted a link to and the OTAs re-downloading
Edit:
I'm still in the same situation, it's reporting system's modified
I think I might just RUU it again. I need my phone running and set up over the next few days though, so it'll have to wait until Christmas is out the way.
Many thanks for your help though.
Do you see many differences after you've applied it?
(And I managed to type ota instead of ruu in the op, I've amended)
Hey guys,
I'm having the exact same issue. The way I was working it around was flashing the update via RUU from laptop but now I'm tired kf doing that every time when there is an update. I will restore my factory recovery and will try it again. After I've done so, I'll get back to you about it.
Best Regards
I couldn't sleep last night, so went for it with the DevRUU.zip I originally used..
It flashed fine as before, then my phone downloaded and applied the OTA just fine.
I couldn't get SuperSU to install properly afterwards though, so restored a TWRP backup so I could use my phone today.
I've been getting the OTA notification repeatedly during the day today though. Seems you can only postpone it for up to 4 hours, rather than dismiss it or turn off checking entirely. It's annoying.
So, I might give it another go pretty soon!
I just RUUd again and then did the OTA.
SuperSU-v2.65 (that I was using pre-OTA) woudn't install, showing 'Patching secpol. Failed. Arborting'
SuperSU-v2.79 installed just fine.
Sorted.
Hey guys. Just went to stock recovery. Unzipped from ota.zip>installed it>recovery works>phone reboot into system>finds the new update>starts to install>rebokts to recovery>starts updating up to 24%25% and then gets me back to recovery saying there is some error. What should I do? I don't want to update via RUU. Thanks

hi.a poor understanding of English and how to correctly put on this site files. I had the same problem. phone-htc__a07 no rooted android 6.0 twrp recovery. Hello,
Reporting back.
So what I did was, I took the RUU, flashed RUU, then updated to the newest update with no problem. Had no issues restoring my phone exactly how it was before to flash the RUU. Phone restored automatically from google account. The only thing which didn't restore was my wallpaper (like I care about it ). So that's it. Thank you very much for your help.
Best Regards

I just wanted to add to the list of install methods. Here is what I attempted.
All attempts with MID 0PJA11000:
Rooted 4.14.617.6 with TWRP recovery and CID BS_US001 - OTA failed (doesnt hurt to try )
Flashing RUU 4.14.617.6.exe with CID BS_US001 - OTA failed
Flashing RUU 4.14.617.6.exe with CID 11111111 - OTA failed
Flashing RUU 4.14.617.6.zip with CID 11111111 - OTA failed
After the above line and changing the CID to BS_US001 - successful
It appears you must run an ruu.zip to accept the OTA no matter what. Strange the exe's will not work. It also appears the master CID no longer works. Surprisingly I was able to change the CID after running the .zip install and still accept the OTA with no problems.

Oreo on Australian HTC__039 HTC 10

Hi,
I have an unlocked Australian HTC 10 (CID:HTC_039)
I've been running Viper 10 from Venom ROMs but sadly that's ceased development. So I'd like to switch over to LeeDroid (or even back to stock rom and root) and get the Oreo update. However as far as I can find HTC haven't released an RUU for my device. So I'm thinking perhaps I could use sunshine to s-off, then change my CID (though I'm not totally sure yet how that is done) and use an RUU that way to get the Oreo update - I should then be able to install LeeDroid as well with Oreo I think as the RUU will give me the firmware for Oreo?
I'm concerned that I could loose my cellular and/or Wi-Fi and other radios though? which would be a serious issue... I read about changing radio firmware - do I need to do this and would it break my connections? perhaps change the radio bands it supports?
Thanks for helping out a total noob!

But I can't find an oreo RUU where the MID and CID are known so that I can flash it to get the firmware updated and make it compatible with leedroid (based on oreo)
I've also lost cellular connectivity but that happened before I S-OFFed so I hope that's just fixable by formatting everything...

Ok I've done that (haven't done TWRP yet) and cellular is back!!
Thanks heaps - Will update here if there's anymore problems!
So for anyone following along behind it all works fine - although the Oreo update is basically uninteresting IMO. Probably staying on Viper 10 Nougat would have been better...

Once kernel source is released and we get a custom kernel things will be alot better with battery and customizations.
Here's hoping, although I've never used a custom kernel. Any recommendations for customising apps available for HTC 10 Oreo now?
Thanks for all your help
(bootloader) kernel: lk
(bootloader) product: htc_pmeuhl
(bootloader) version: 1.0
(bootloader) max-download-size: 1579200000
(bootloader) serialno:

(bootloader) version-main: 2.42.710.2
(bootloader) boot-mode: download

(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.0.0.0000
(bootloader) mid: 2PS620000

Hello i am at the same exact situation with you, being doing a bit of research on how to fix this. this is so far what i learned, flash firmware and flash oreo rom.
currently i am in S-on but i will s-off after i get the whole idea and correct file to do the firmware flashing, the thing is i still not sure how to flash firmware and where to get the correct file, or i have to change my cid and mid to find the matched firmware, mind to guide me in that?

Right now the custom ROMs for the HTC 10 all seem to be based on Nougat firmware - if you follow the steps I gave you you'll end up with oreo firmware - so if you want a custom rom don't follow those steps - just install it now using TWRP (assuming you are running Nougat at the moment)

Yes you can. You need to be on Oreo firmware for his ROM. you need to S off your phone and change CID, I recommend you follow the guide in the link above, debrand to WWE using RUU.zip. Just follow that guide step by step and once you have the phone running take the OTA to Oreo then flash twrp follwed by leedroid ROM
Edit: because you flashed leedroid rom then went back to Nougat you want have baseband but once your running Oreo rom it will return.

Wrong RUU. there is no RUU for WWE yet and that RUU won't flash unless you have Oreo firmware. So like I said follow the debrand to WWE using RUU.zip. the RUU is posted in that thread all you have to do is follow the Instructions. Once everything is done and you have flashed the RUU boot the phone up (you won't have radio) use Wi-Fi to take the OTA to Oreo. Flash latest twrp because RUU will flash stock recovery then flash leedroid ROM.
So steps would be
1: Obtain S OFF
2: Change CID to HTC__001, MID is the same so don't need to change that.
3: FLASH 2.41.401.41 RUU
4: Take OTA
5: Flash latest twrp, a new twrp was posted yesterday
6: Flash Leedroid.

Should be all good. After OTA boot the phone make sure everyone is working. If you want to after that flash twrp then leedroid. :good:

a question, the main point of s-off is we r able to flash the firmware ourself? but to match the firmware we need the same CID and MID, am i correct?

Yes. modified firmwares as well. As you took OTA to Oreo there is no need to flash any firmware.
