I (tried to) started encryption on my D850 and it showed some android doodle for a second and now it's been at the AT&T logo splash screen for a few minutes. Is it supposed to do that while it's encrypting or did it kill itself as soon as it started? I'd rather not sit here for hours waiting for something to happen if this isn't what's supposed to happen, suggesting something went wrong.
edit in case anyone was wondering, half an hour later it's still at the ATT splash screen and i'm becoming more and more skeptical that it did anything but destroy all data on my phone in an instant somehow

I'm going to try to explain this the best I can so... my apologies for any loops or confusing parts in my story.
~Basically once my phone was removed from being charged, it jumped itself into some kind of boot loop. I did not do anything just unplug it and check the time
~~The process it went though before it started to work again
~It ended up just shutting down and booting up. When it booted in only got as far as the "Deviant Development" screen and the load bar only loaded up to about 20-30% before it just rebooted itself. From there my phone was stuck on vibration. It would only vibrate for a split second, stop and vibrate again. Even if I tried to get it to make it load the TWRP recovery screen it would just boot itself again once the "Team Win" logo appeared. (Update) Device options randomly appeared by itself when I went to put it on sleep. I just tapped the button and from there it just rebooted itself.
**Question**
I'm just curious to know if anyone may know why my phone suddenly acted like that, my phone has no damage at all, never been dropped. First I ever experienced this. Any advice or suggestions?

Sounds like you have a sticky power button. I think there are a few threads about it on here if you search.
So my Gnex has been working fine since I got it (I am not sure exactly when but it was relatively soon after it came out). I unlocked it but never ended up flashing any ROM or anything. The only issue I've had with it has been that since I installed Google Drive on it about once every hour it asks me if I want it to use Gmail or Drive to perform an action without any other prompt.
Current Problem: The phone will not boot without being plugged in. However, when I do get it to turn on, it gets stuck at the Google logo screen. Something is definitely wrong at this step because a few times the word Google seemed to be popping up all around the screen and shaking around. A few other times at this step the word Google disappeared and then very slightly green stripes started rolling up the screen and slowly getting narrower.
I figure it is probably dead, and I was not able to find any other threads on this but I figure it is worth seeing if anyone else has encountered this.

So, my 3 yr old was watching what does the fox say videos on my i317, (yes that's the first problem, I know) and he apparently did something to my phone, but I have no idea what he could have done to get this to happen. The phone doesn't boot loop, it actually boots up just fine and gives me the 'apps upgrading' notification and then continues to my lock screen. Sometimes I am able to get past the lock screen and my notifications start popping up then the phone will auto reboot. It just does this over and over again. So I popped out the battery and put my backup in. Used my backup for about 2 days before getting sick of the phone shutting down at 25%. I believe this battery issue was caused by falling asleep on top of my phone while it was plugged in and screen on for about 6 hours.....verrryyyy hot when I pulled the battery after this. Anyhow the phone acted fine except for it shutting off when it's showing a fairly high percentage. So today, I pop that battery out and put the good one back in and the phone started doing this...for lack of a better term....reboot loop again!!! How can the battery replacement put the phone back into whatever state of error it was in?!?! Bottom line is, what does the fox say will kill your devices and Ylvis are the spawn of satan.

Could it be the batteries aren't connecting to the terminals tightly?
Hi. So, last night, my phone was sitting and charging when I started hearing it vibrate. I looked at it and saw that it was suddenly on the Verizon splash screen. No big deal, it just reboot for whatever reason. But then it kept doing it. It boots up, gets to the lockscreen, starts loading things, and then kicks back out to the Verizon screen.
Reflashing everything fixes it. Safe mode does not. It doesn't happen in recovery mode either.
I've pretty much resigned myself to having lost this, though I did make a backup of everything, restoring it just causes the problems to come up again.
Is there any way I can keep it stable long enough to at least back up the contacts and stuff? Or a way to kill whatever is causing it?
Looking for suggestions as it seems I'm experiencing issues that don't really fit into one exact category.
*D855 LG G3
*Chupa Chups Rom (Lolipop)
*TWRP 2.8.4.0
The story so far;
Woke up the other day to unresponsive G3. Pulled battery, popped it back in and it booted. LG Lifes Good, Chupa Chups Rom Animation (Lolipop) then to my password entry to decrypt phone. Seems to cycle for a bit like its decrypting. LED is a steady flash of green into blue, over and over, and then black screen, LEDs off, unresponsive. Let it sit for over 40 mins just to make sure it's not just taking forever and when I check it its back to being unresponsive. Pop the Batt again and won't even boot this time. Do this several times till it eventually boots again. At this point, it seems random when it decides it wants to boot. Even if I hold the power button to drain any leftover energy without the batt in. Finally boot again and it cycles to the Rom animation then Blue Screens for a bit and powers off. Pop bat again. Let sit for 10mins. get it to boot and it cycles like the first time. Get to decrypt stage and then Black again. Called my phone from a diff phone just to make sure it wasn't the screen and still nothing. I rinse and repeat this process about another 30 plus times to varying success and any successful boots would always end in either Blue or Black screens. At this point, I believe the Black screen is just the phone being powered off as that's what always follows the Blue screen.
Edit:
Also tested 3.8v batt and is holding charge at 3.9 to 4v without any abnormal drain.
6/1/[email protected]:55pm - Just booted again after sitting overnight and the boot cycle actually went all the way through the decryption and I caught a glimps of the home screen about to load before it blue screened again. Thats the farthest its gotten so far.
6/4/[email protected]:45am - After a full battery drain and recharge apx 3 days since last attempt. same cycle as previous boot. Decrypted. Got to home screen. Blue screened, then black screen and this time following the black screen it blue screened again and then finally shhut down.
I am NOT able to boot into download mode as I'm pretty sure I had USB debugging turned off at the time of the incident. I can boot into recovery (TWRP 2.8.4.0) but can't really do anything there as the phone is encrypted and I'm not able to decrypt it in that older version. It shows all the encrypted partitions as 0mb. I tried to update TWRP to any newer version as well as Blu_Spark or Codeworkx for encryption support to no avail as it can't mount /data. I did reboot from TWRP back to recovery successfully over and over again without issue or having to reseat the battery. I did try to boot to the system and it just Blue screens again. I would like to try and save any data I can and would like to exhaust any options leading to that end first, but if it comes to it I will just wipe and reflash it.
First and foremost I would like to try and use TWRP to restore my phone if possible. I do have some Baks I can use but since the phone is encrypted now (and wasn't when the baks were made) I feel like that still poses an issue. So any help starting with that route would be great otherwise it's on to other methods. I don't believe its the fade/flicker issue as when the screen is displaying it's always fine. However, when I disassemble the phone I'll make sure to check the ribbons first as that's easy enough. I'm leaning more towards the CPU possibly having a bad seat or something. After some sleuthing, I'm thinking about the oven method, but have no idea what temp to do it at. I've seen everything from 160 to 400 degrees. Even blowdryers and Irons. I could just make a reflow oven, but would still like to know the proper temps for that kind of thing assuming the TWRP recovery method of things doesn't work out first.
Thanks in advance to this great community for any help that should follow!
Edit:Well It seems like there's not much in the way of potential solution responses so I think I might just attempt this so-called "Oven Method" and see what happens. If, and when, I do Ill post results. In the meantime, I am still searching for a way to use TWRP to decrypt and rescue the data currently on the phone. Barring any success in that arena on to the Easy Bake Oven
