Is there a workaround? Example: while tethering, I want to check the weather but my location can't be detected.
Is not really all that big of a deal but was may wondering if it is a software issue or a hardware impossibility. I figure there should be a separate GPS radio, but maybe it only works in conjunction with the WiFi radio?

I upgraded to the 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 radio (recommended radio for Leedroid 3.0.x. I am using Leedroid 3.0.6 2nd release. I did not have this issue before the radio / ROM change.
My problem is that my phone refuses to connect to my corporate wireless about 90% of the time. It will say connecting then scanning then connecting, etc. When I am in the office I need to disable Wifi or my battery gets used up very quickly. I have tried now at 2 different office locations with the same wireless settings.
I am able to use my wireless at home without a problem and at other locations as well.
Has anyone else had similar issues? Should I try changing the radio again and if so what radio is recommended.
Thanks,
Shieze
I've noticed that my GPS doesn't find my location without being connected to network. I'm running CoreDroid Rom and I thought that it might be the problem. I may be wrong because this is my first device with GPS and to be honest I don't know if connection to network is mandatory. If not, is there any way to fix that so I can use location apps without connecting to the internet?
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
I'm having trouble using bluetooth mouse and wifi at the same time. The moment I turn bluetooth on, the internet stops working.
I googled around and haven't found anyone with similar problem on Acer A100. It doesn't seem like hardware issue (both wifi and bluetooth work ok separately) and upgrading from HC to ICS didn't solve it.
Has anyone heard of anything similar? Do you guys use them at the same time?
Your wifi is probably 802.11b/g, which uses the 2.4 GHz frequency. Bluetooth also uses this same frequency. Try changing the channel on your wireless router or turning off autoscan. Your problem is not specific to the A100, a Google search for Bluetooth and wifi interference will bring up many results. If your router is dual band, you could change to the 5.75 GHz frequency.
Thanks for suggestions. I'll try them when I get home and report my results.
EDIT: It's still not working correctly after changing the channel. I've read the paper on interference between two wireless technologies, the conclusion is that they can coexist with somewhat lower data rates. I'm experiencing total breakdown of WiFi, so I think there's something unexpected happening on IC that's handling both BT and WLAN (AzureWave AW-NH611).
Or perhaps they just can't simultaneously use the same antenna, that's why I asked if anyone else uses them at the same time on Iconia A100.
Hi all
I plan to use the Galaxy Nexus as a music player. I will not activate it with a phone company. Therefore I will not have any voice or data connection. Also, I won't always have a wifi connection.
I would like to know if the GPS will be working under these conditions.
Definition of working : will give me a coordinate of longitude and latitude. Separate programs may require data connection but this is another issue. Might just download offline mays.
Thanks.
Yes, it does work.
Download GPS test from the market.
Hi all I'm hoping you can help me.
I have the R800a model of the Xperia Play, running 2.3.4, stock standard and not rooted.
I'm experiencing some very strange behaviour when I turn on wifi hotspot tethering on my phone. When I do, it seems some 3G functionality in the phone is lost. I can still browse the web in Dolphin Browser, but TuneIn radio stops working completely, saying there is no connection. As soon as I turn wifi hotspot off, it picks up the connection again, but if I turn it back on...bang, drops out.
For the record, devices connected to the hotspot, such as my Nexus 7, can access all online functions, including TuneIn radio. It's only the phone itself that seems to lose this functionality.
It seems unlikely there is a bug in TuneIn radio, because I've had a friend verify that it works on his HTC phone when wifi hotspot is on. I haven't verified if it's happening within any other apps but it does look like the inbuilt wifi hotspot functions in this phone are blocking some 3G connectivity while active.
This one is stumping me. It's quite annoying me because I enjoy listening to the radio on the train, but I can't do it on my phone if I'm browsing the web on my Nexus 7.
Does anyone have any clue about what's going on here?
So I've found it's not just wifi hospot tethering, but tethering in general, as USB tethering does the same thing.
So I've gotten around this by setting up Bluetooth tethering instead, which took a bit of fiddling but seems to work much better.
I have a feeling Telstra's software was probably blocking some functionality while tethering via USB or WiFi.
