Hey guys! Since last week I've been experiencing some weird problems with my LG G3 d855 screen blacking out, everything was working OK, the last thing I remember installing was Opera Max,
don't know if this have to do something, BUT I've didn't dropped my phone or anything, It was working at all times, maybe it's time has come?
I've factory reset to see if solved but no luck. I attach a video so you can see what the problem is, it doesn't happen at all times, I can still use the phone normally and a few times a day the problem appears.
Can someone confirm I have to replace the whole screen? or is it something else?

There have been a couple of suggested fixes:
https://www.reddit.com/r/LGG3/comments/3j6puw/screen_flicker_and_fade_please_help/
This simple version of this one worked for me for a few days. I'm going to try the more involved version (still fairly simple)
http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g3/527306-why-does-my-lg-g3-screen-flicker-fades-darkness-8.html
And an existing thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/screen-fades-to-black-flickering-issue-t3255804
I chatted with LG's customer service and they basically denied the existence of any systemic problem.
OMG so many people with the same problem. I've readed all the posts on ac's forum, most of them complaining about LG customer service and how about they even know what the problem really is.. And in almost every case problem appeared after the warranty ended. Awful experience with LG.

I just buy a H818N two months ago. But some issue happened , I can't access my camera sometimes. And when it happened I noticed that my network also has some problem. The signal always unstable .
But this is issue happened only few times , but I have completely no idea what it cause.
I just try to flash my device with KDZ but I am not sure if it will work.
Anyone knows anything about it?

Have you found the way to fix it? I cannot launch my camera, it just shows the back button and galery one, but with black screen
Hey guys,
About a month ago my LG g3 would randomly crash, i noticed it happened more on apps such as snapchat and the camera (default) but then started to happen when just on chrome and other random apps. in the last week this got a lot more frequent and started occurring at least 10 times a day, again mostly in camera apps but also on others.
Yesterday i tried fixing it by installing the newest android update - lollypop? I also uninstalled snapchat as it was crashing my phone constantly. Crashes were still occurring so i updated all my apps. After this my phone wouldn't even load, it would crash and then just loop in the LG logo bootup.
It did this for about an hour with no luck till i plugged it in to the wall. It then worked absolutely perfectly and has done since. But when i take it out of the wall it will crash within about 3 minutes of normal usage or about 10 seconds from opening the camera.
I then backed up my data and performed a factory reset. After this i am still experiencing the exact same problem. Fine when plugged into the wall but when its not plugged in it doesn't last 1 minute.
I have searched the internet and can find similar problems but no definitive fix, please could anyone advise? Thanks!!!

Try to flash back to stock via kdz or tot so you can make sure that your issue is not hardware issue. It will delete all of your data.

Yeah no problem, here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089 . Download the kdz that is for your phone and use lg flash tool like in the thread to flash back to stock.

I took the plunge to Android 7.0 Nougat, however I am having some major problems. Initially I had everything stock, and every once in a while my phone would reboot when on WiFi. Sometimes it rebooted within 5 minutes of booting back up, sometimes it would reboot 1 hour after booting back up. There is a whole thread about it here (note: not the bootloop issue occasionally talked about in that thread, although it could be related I guess): https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/kaMOvuf093Q
I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue? It definitely seems to be linked to WiFi only. A bunch of users apparently narrowed down a few apps that triggered the reboots more frequently (Napster, for example), but the problem seems deeper than just a rogue app. Safe mode does seem to alleviate the issue, but this is not really an acceptable solutions to me. I tried another kernel (Franco's), but that didn't fix anything. I was wondering if anyone who had this problem had any success fixing it by changing ROMs or kernels? I also read that turning off WiFi scanning may also help--I will report back if this fixes anything.
Any suggestions welcome, thanks!
This could be part of the hardware issue that is happening, it talented to me and I finally have my phone back

I have a H-790 Nexus 5x on Verizon.
has been happening to me too -- reboots randomly about once or twice a day. (only realize it since fingerprint scanner does not work and i am forced to key my passcode at first login post reboot).
It seems that the H 790 production series are faulty
Nexus 5x reboot problems
Yes it would appear so. However, I have read one post in Google Forums that speaks of problems with H791. However, it could be related to the wifi problem. There are two problems - one is problem booting initially and finally phone does not boot into the ROM and cannot be recovered. This seems to be related to hardware problem in H-790 series. The other has been isolated to the WiFi scanning which causes a crash.

Yeah, I am definitely having a problem with the WiFi crash. Would a custom kernel fix this? A custom ROM would, right? Any ideas for a fix for this?

I thought the bootloop issue was hardware related, but not the random reboots issue? Ex: Safe mode fixes the problem for me.

IMO opinion this is just the eMMC dying problem that people have reportedly sporadically over the past 12mo. That problem has affected both H790 and H791. It likely just became more likely to show up after the 7.0 update because that was a large update, but by no means is a large update going to cause the problem by itself. The core problem is eMMC that was waiting to fail and could have happened just when web browsing but a large update just pushed it over the edge. Some phones you can do many large updates and never see a problem, then boom, one day randomly it just reboots and bootloops, with no amount of flashing or resetting making any difference.

I really wish Google would fix this, this isn't really an acceptable solution to me. :/
I have a h790 nexus 5x and haven't seen this issue, knock on wood. However if it's linked to wifi scanning that was issued in another post you may try disabling wifi scanning to see if the issue is resolved. If not it's definitely the emmc in my opinion

If it is indeed not a a hardware problem, then don't wait for Google to fix it overnight. Besides, it may be the case that there is no bug at all, and you flashed a corrupted firmware. Your Best bet right now is to try some custom Roms and kernels and see if it fixes the problem. If you don't want to mess with user made firmware then I would suggest you to reflash the latest stock image form Google. If both of the above fail, the you are forced to roll back to marshmallow
You can try to disable wifi scanner on sleep,.
After the Nougat upgrade, I was having random reboots on my 5X (LG-H791). It always happened when my 5X was sleeping (laying on my working desk or on my bedside table for some time). After the reboot it was working fine again for some hours, so it does not seem to be the bootloop issue. I remember that I had a few rare reboots after upgrading to Nougat 7.0, but after the last 7.1.1 upgrade the reboots occured at least every second day.
Last Friday I had enough of it. I downgraded to the last stock Marshmallow 6.0.1 (MTC20K), and it didn't crash a single time after that.
My wife's 5X is having the same random reboots. The reboots are less frequent (but still occur) when WLAN is turned off. I will downgrade her's too, if my 5X is still still stable after the next weekend.
I wonder if this is a different problem, or if this is just a first symptom of the bootloop issue. If it's a bug in Nougat, then shouldn't much more (if not all) 5X owners experience these random reboots?

hi, i had the exact same problem with my nexus 5x from carphonewarehouse (uk), and when it was given in to repair i was promised money in return, however they ended up refusing to give money and gave a replacement phone instead, the only way to fix this issue is apparently to get a replacement, as it is most likely a hardware issue google haven't accounted for
I've had the random restart issue for a while now. I got a "new" replacement in November for a different issue and have been on 7.0 the whole time (until last week when I got 7.1.1 OTA). I'm going to call today about another replacement. I've just had two restarts in the last hour.
I have my d850 for a long time. in the past it did this thing where it would reboot constantly until I plugged it in. A new battery solved that issue. Now, 8 months later, it happens again, only difference is that plugging it in doesnt help. Ive tried two new batteries this time, first one didnt work and i figured it was faulty so i returned it and got another, which still doesnt fix the issue. I turned on the phone without my sim and sd card which made no difference either.
I just unrooted my phone and reset to stock, which still doesnt fix the issue either. should i bother with a third new battery to test this? this phone works so smoothly, still fast, still a GREAT phone...I just cant pin point the issue thats causing the reboots as ive tried all i can think of. Id hate to have to toss it. any other suggestions?
thanks in advance!

wow thank you. i have seen a few other threads on how to disassemble the phone for screen flicker, overheating, etc but I havent came across this one. I tried applying thermal paste ( an idea i found in the thread you linked me to), it seems to restart less (without the sim card in, but wifi and location/google maps works fine). since its restarting a lot less, im thinking of opening again and actually purchasing and applying the thermal pad.
Does anyone else have suggestions? and again, thank you!

I use Non-Stock ROM for my device ever since 2 years ago (not a fan of Stock ROMs), and I have no issues aside from early throttling (can be solved with thermal pad). Maybe the issue only persist because you use Stock ROMs. Try changing into Non-Stock ROMs like AOSP or LOS with a good kernel.

thats the thing, ive always been rooted. always. but for testing I did unroot and revert back to stock and the problem still sticks. after realizing that I rooted again and went back to marshmallow (instead of nougat, and ive tried more than a few roms using marshmallow and a few different ones with nougat). So ive done with non stock roms for a long time, and i do prefer it.
So ive done the thermal grease without the thermal pad and it worked for a day(literally), and stopped working and constant rebooting all over again. I got a new sim card today, no luck. so i may try this thermal pad. but since just the theermal grease seems to not have fixed the issue, im not so sure the thermal pad will work either, but will give it a try.
another thought though, when flashing roms or kernels, it goes through the process like normal! but when actually booting up or when operating (like texting or surfing the web, or just sitting on the counter/in pocket), it just restarts constantly or bootloops(just shoes the LG screen and turns off, and then LG screen again, and so on)! i cant pin point the issue. im gonna look into the paper trick and possible look into purchasing a thermal pad. can anyone provide links in the one they used? i saw the link in another thread just wasnt sure how long that would take to ship to me. maybe i can see what other used?
Hi, so i've been using the Oneplus 5T for a year and just recently it started having issues with lag, making the phone unusable. I tried installing different roms without success(Oxygen OS Open Beta 23, Lineage OS 16, and Oxygen OS 5.1.4) and i have no idea what is causing it. This issue began while i was on the OOS beta 23 and it wasn't rooted, it just started behaving that way suddenly i didn't drop it or anything, also the screen blinks and start doing weird things sometimes. Did anyone had this issue? And what can be causing it? Thanks
Link to a video of my problem: https://youtu.be/17LOiftTf8w
Found the issue. Apparently it's caused by google play services, if i clear the data of the app the phone works fine and as soon as i install something from the store it starts lagging again
I always have this issue after finishing a clean setup on oxygen os beta. One restart for me solves and never returns.

What the hell is that lag issue seriously ??
I was thinking to flash a custom kernel and ROM but would it solve the issue ?
And the issue is completely random as well.
I have the exact same issue. Starts when i download something from playstore, open camera after a while or transfer big files e.g transferring data through oneplus switch. I have tried everything i could and didnt help. Upgrades, downgrades, root, trimming storage, clearing cache etc. Nothing is helping. If anyone finds a solution please tell me too. Really frustrated ?
The problem occured on official ROM but it comes back even on Lineage OS 16 (official too).
Do you think it could be a hardware issue ? If not, how come this problem happens even when flashing an other ROM ?

Maybe try to reset your phone by using MsmDownloadTool, if that doesn't fix your problem then it must be a hardware issue.

I don't know what did they replace I didn't get any information about that. The screen is the same though they didn't change it, my guesses are either it's the motherboard or the motherboard to screen connector (it's called main flex I think, you can get on for about 3$)
