I really want to get a dock station so I can use the Desk Home and maybe watch some movies at work.
Does anyone know where to get one?

When you're done using it to prop up your phone at work,
you can use it to clean all the **** outta your desk when your boss catches you.
How would you dock a phone that has its power connector on the top... LOL
It slides in sideways. Hence the desk app.
Make a paperclip stand!
I made one of these and it works great for my Vibrant. I have it on my desk at the office and plug the usb into my computer. I've been watching videos during lunch using this thing with no problems.
Can't beat that for $0.01. I did have to make three before I got it just right, so maybe the cost is more like $0.03.
Look at my paperclip stand. Its perfect, I just have to be carefull don't scratch it with the edges.

I made 3 or 4 of the paper clip ones and just never felt that it was that sturdy. Oh well. Off to the supply room to rumage for supplies.

You could use pencil erasers on the ends to not scratch it

I've been wondering about this dock for a while now. Supposedly someone said they saw it in a video on Samsung's website, but I haven't seen anything. I hope it comes out soon, though. I really want one!

could use electrical tape as well, then you could make it in a variety of colors

Check it out. Made it with some sold scrap metal I had around the shop. I will get more pics when I put some spray on it.
Here it is all finished. The bolts make it so I can tilt the phone more forward or back by loosening or tightening the jam nuts. Comes in handy when watching video. I put some VW lug covers on the head of the bolts to protect the case of the phone. Not bad for a days work.

as a fellow auto tech i have to say good friggin job LOL. thats something i was looking to do with a box for the blue shop towels. i already made a ghetto ass subwoofer with one beats pretty well for a pc speaker LOL

wouldnt really consider that ghetto. have you seen the ****ers around here using the cardboard box the phone came in? or the guys using paperclips?
he could probably market this to iphone owners as some industrial steampunk phone stand, get "Made for iPhone" stamped on the box and sell these for $200 all day long.

What case is that on the phone? I just ordered a Vibrant (it'll be here tomorrow. Can't wait!) and I'm looking for a good case to put it in. That one looks pretty nice. I was a bit disappointed to find that Otterbox doesn't make a case for the Vibrant.

Its just a rubber case from the T-mobile store. I got it when I got the phone. It was only like $15 and it fits real nice.

love to see it. i'm a car guy too. buddy of mine made some lamps out of old cams, cranks and turbine housings from some shot turbos he had in his garage.
i like to see stuff like this. lots of people dont have an open enough mind to figure stuff like this out.

New Dock
This is my new one, for my touch pro2. Same basic design as the first, but a little rougher around the edges. It also fits my vibrant really well. I think Im going to play around with fiberglass and see what I come up with. I did body work for awhile, and I can sling mud with the best of them.

Today I got creative with my brand new Optimus One.
I wanted to give the phone a more prominent place on my desktop, and here's what I've come up with. ( check attachments , I can't post links)
Getting the phone into the dock is pretty simple.
Just slide it down and it should click into the usb connector.
It did took me a while to get things lined up perfectly.
It might not be the most stable solution, but it's pretty solid.
The rubber bands holding the connector in place are pretty tight.
Any other users here made themselves a dock?
I could also use some tips on making it more stable.

Very nice! My ideea was a little different. I used fimo modelling clay i bough from an arts shop with crafting materials (very cheap). You model it the way you want to and them place it in the oven and it hardens. It is very hard and and you can get it in any colours you want. From the leftovers I made a little android guy. I gave it the phone's shape, so it fits quite good and is stable enough. I then glued a piece of fabric so as not to scratch the phone in time. It is not the best looking solution but it fits its purpose perfectly. It took like 20minutes to build it, not including the time it stood in the oven.

True. I wanted a simple dock to use the phone as a night stand clock thinggie. I'll try another design to incorporate the charger some time.
I really dig you Lego design. Technics all the way!! Fits with the Optimus One robot theming too.

I don't trust the mah ratings seidio give out. They are usually lower than advertised once tested.

now thats what i call bricking your phone...but the seidio is not going to need a new back cover if its anything like their other slim extended battery.
loztboy is right if you look at some of the threads about testing the mah rating the oem batteries always have more. if the siedio is the same size as the oem it wont last longer.
I've seen too many complaints about Seidio not holding up over time, I wouldn't bother trying one.
I'm sure there are other batteries that are just as good as the Moto branded ones, but there's so much outright JUNK and counterfeit, and bad lithium batteries don't always die, sometimes they catch fire or explode.
Nope, I'll stick to Moto on this part. From a trusted supplier, not an anonymous one either.

So far this is the best looking case I have seen. I sent an email to them asking for a picture of it in a "typing angle" but haven't gotten a response. I can see how the typing angle works on the version 1 but I'm not sure on the version 2.
If anyone here has this case maybe you can post a pic of the different angles not shown on the vendor website.

I am also interested in seeing more pics of the PDair. This is easily the best case I have seen (maybe the Zenus ones will be nice, but they are taking their time).
If the design is similar to others like kevikev case, then I would go for kevikev case ..
Would be interested if you have to insert your xoom upside down like kevikev or they invent a better idea !!
Upside down is a showstopper as I haven't found a DLNA-compatible video player that rotates when the XOOM is upside down.

Whether you have it propped up in the landscape veiwing angle, or propped in the landscape typing angle, the screen remains with the vrz logo on top. I have only used it a little so far, but have not had a situation where I had to view the screen with vrz logo on the bottom. You do have to have the case open to access the charging port though. Or you can just insert the xoom upside down in order to expose the charging port while the case is closed. I think overall it was designed pretty well.
