I'm not a HTC user myself, but my friend got his 816 on bootloop, and if he hold the power + vol- button in boot he will get the android robot screen, but not the menu which is supposed to come.
Sorry I'm a sony user and i'm not familiar with htc, the phone is not even on my hand but i'm just trying to flash the stock firmware again. Could someone give me a simplest possible guide, maybe something like flashtool on xperia.
And how do i completely shut down a HTC phone? it keeps rebooting itself with power and vol+
Thanks
First of all, to help, we'll need to know more specs of the phone..
If your in a bootloop, try holding vol +, vol - and power at the same time, once the screen is completely black, hold vol- and power. If you're doing it right, your device should boot in the boatloader. White background, phone specs at the top.
Please post this data, since we'll need to know the device model to help.
If this doesn't work, try to use adb commands.
First of all, make sure USB-Debugging is enabled on your device and all drivers are up-to-date (HTC Sync, Java and fastboot).
- Download ADB fastboot folder (just extract it to C:\ and you're good to go)
- Connect your device and PC using usb data cable
- Navigate to ADB folder and click on any free space while holding the shift Key
- Choose 'Open command window' here
- Once cmd is started use this command
Code:
fastboot devices
and check if your device is listed, then type
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
to reboot your device. It should start in fastboot mode.
And if that doesn't work either, try using
Code:
fastboot getvar all
instead of
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
and post the result.
Please make sure to delete the lines

Let me start by saying yes i'm fully rooted, ok now with that outta the way, im trying to a load new splash screen as explained here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=722717, but the issue i'm having is where he say "Boot your phone into fastboot (hold vol up key while powering phone on, select fastboot)", shouldn't it be power and volume down, also when i go to cmd to type" fastboot devices" to see if the computer is recognizing my phone my first command line that comes up says C:\Documnents and Setting\Tom Harman>, i have a filling that should not be there, but either way it's not showing it's connected, should i have the phone set to charge only, or disk drive or what am i not doing right.
39 views, come one some has got to have something, searching has turned up no good results.
You check with this line.. adb devices. Will have a bunch of numbers and if it does your all good.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
see i can't even get there since my first cmd line is C:\Documnents and Setting\Tom Harman>, i put in fastboot device, and it says not a internal or external command.
Boot the phone with volume up and it should bring you to a white screen with info about your phone. Select fastboot from the menu. When it talks about cmd, use windows explorer to navigate to the Android SDK folder on your computer. Find the tools folder and highlight the folder name and hold shift then right click and select open new command window here. Then type fastboot devices in the cmd window.

when i try this way of holding power and vol up, it buzz's 3 times and does nothing, then i have to pull battery just to start over, but if i hold power and vol down i can select fastboot, and it takes me to the red highlighted fastboot usb, but nothing about cmd.
You must navigate to the android-sdk-windows\tools folder. The path can be different for everyone. The location is where you extracted the android sdk to. Mine is at the root of the C drive.
Make sure USB debugging in Settings/Applications/Development is turned on and reboot into the bootloader (power+vol down)
Type this:
cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools press enter
(The path you just typed should be displayed here)
Now type: fastboot devices
This should display something like HTxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If it does, it worked. Just type your commands to flash the splash image.
Hope this helps
That's strange, did you flash an eng hboot? How did you root?

If you power up the phone with the volume up held it should boot into fastboot. I was wrong about selecting fastboot earlier, I thought you had to select it, but it will boot directly into fastboot.
IDK how the 2.2 root is done, it sounds like you don't have an eng bootloader.

found the problem, it lies in the hboot, should be .76, but is .79, time to revert.
Hi Guys,
One of my friends HCT one X is just going into bootloop. she has no idea what happened. She tried to upgrade the OS (via OTA) and probably slept. So i suspect that the update did not complete properly and this is causing it.
I havent used HTC once, so i have no idea what S-off, on. Fastboot etc is.
I managed to go to the recovery mode (power +vol down) and see that
S-On
Hboot-0.96.0000
eMMC Bootmode-Disabled
CPU-Bootmode - Disabled
WW Secure Boot - Enabled
Can some one please let me know how to fix this issue.
Thanks
You need to download the android sdk bundle, extract it and navigate to the platform tools folder. Open a command window there.
Put the phone in the bootloader by holding the power button and the volume - button together as long as it takes to see the bootloader.
Then connect it to the pc and type this in the command window
Fastboot getvar version-main
A number should come out.
And if you have HTC syncmanager installed ? Uninstall it but leave the drivers on the pc

Please Help,
I think my cousin has bricked my phone, I have tried everything and the phone will die soon as it wont switch offf.
Basically my phone has rooted and also the bootscreen unlocked, now my cousin didn't make a backup of my initial stock rom. so I am kinda stuck.
When I put the phone into boot via Power Button and Down Volume its comes to the white boot screen. When I Fastboot USB mode it says "SD Checking, Failed to open usb master", so how can i put this stock rom I found if my pc can't even detect the phone storage.
When I also go into my ClockworkRecovery and go into Mounts and Storage Menu > Mount USB storage, I get "unable to ums lunfile (no usch file or........ I thought maybe I could get the pc to recognize the phone sotrage via that way so I can put a ROM on the phone.
Phone has no ROM on it atm, I am slowly giving up.
update to the latest cwm or twrp then try again

I think it is beyond being fixed my friend, when I power up the phone without the cable then I put it in once is have pressed the power key for the fastboot, the phone is still not detected. when the cable is plugged in on the fastboot it shows "fastboot USB" so it must be doing something?
Is there anyway someone would be really kind and use a voip and direct me or is the phone just totally dead now?
Ok, you can get into bootloader so your phone is not bricked. You are rooted, correct ?
You have a fastboot folder on your PC with the necessary files in it ?

yes that is good, and from "fastboot usb" is where you install a newer cwm. get it from here>>>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240646 rename the file "recovery" and put it in your fastboot folder, then install it by typing in command window "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then install your rom or stock nandroid that I linked for you earlier
same problem
Hi I have HTC ONE X after custom rom has lost imei number, bootloader relocked, android probably deleted and can't connect like normal with Laptop "UNKNOWN DEVICE" becouse all identification numers are 0, USB MASS Storage unavailable
Any ideas for bring him back?
Make sure you are in the "fastboot" folder that is on your desktop. In other words, the fastboot folder window is highlighted.
Hold the "shift" key on your keyboard and at the same time right click on empty space in the fastboot folder. Now you will get a menu, click on "Open command prompt here".
You should now have a fastboot terminal window and you can send commands to your phone using fastboot.
As "nogotaclue", said download ClockworkMod Recovery from Here . Put the downloaded recovery image in your fastboot folder. I would rename the downloaded recovery to "recovery_cwm". I do this because I find it easier to distinguish between recoveries that way.
Now go into your fastboot terminal window and type " fastboot flash recovery recovery_cwm.img " without the quote marks and then hit "enter".
Once you get a message saying that it succeeded type
" fastboot erase cache " hit "enter"
Now power off your phone reboot into bootloader and select recovery. If all is well you will be looking at Clockwork mod recovery 5.8.4.0.
Now you just need to get a ROM or a nandroid backup and you should be good to go....

Well I can enter the boot screen so thats a sign I guess, I am just waiting to charge the phone a little then do the process
So I'll recap what I have to do
1.)Hold Power Button + Bottom volume controller
2).Enters the BOOTSCREEN
3.)Scroll to FASTBOOT and press the power button on the FASTBOOT then (FASTBOOT USB) should appear
4.)Navigate to my C:\Users\Jon\Desktop\fastboot folder where fastboot.exe is and the recovery_cwm.img is
5.)Shift + Right Click open command prompt here blah blah
6.)In the CMD window type "fastboot flash recovery recovery_cwm.img"
7.)If succeeded, then the following "fastboot erase cache" hit enter power off phone.
8.)BOOTLOADER, recovery and CWM should be there.
I have a HTC One X Integra H3G before all this I was on the 4.1.0 version of the HTC, is there a link of H3G roms

Was there any solution for this problem?
Try to open Fastboot with adb commands.

Post it in right device section
First of all, we'll need more information about your device.
1. When you hold the power button + volume down, are you able to boot into hboot? (white screen with phone specs) if you are, please post that screen.
2. Have you installed all drivers for the device? (HTC Sync, Java and ADB)
If yes,
- Navigate to ADB folder and click on any free space while holding the shift Key
- Choose 'Open command window here'
- Once cmd is started use this command
Code:
fastboot devices
and check if your device is listed, then type
Code:
fastboot getvar all
and copy/paste code here.
If no,
install all drivers and follow the steps above.
