Hi, szyminindy...
I don't have the technical expertise to help you, but the guys who do, are likely going to ask you to post a...
Code:
fastboot getvar all
...output.
This will provide them with something to help diagnose your problem, and hopefully come up with a solution.
Dont forget to edit out (remove), your IMEI and device SERIAL numbers before posting.
Good luck.
Rgrds,
Ged.
EDIT: ...and which you have now done... :good:
Your bootloader is unlocked? If so, your device is not bricked at all.
Download twrp: https://dl.twrp.me/m8/twrp-2.8.7.0-m8.img.html
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-m8.img
Now you have twrp, download some rom(sense,cm,aosp) and flash it.
Maybe someone posted twrp nand and recovery for your cid/mid(so you can get stock 6.0).
EDIT: Actually it's posted
It's on ckpv5's thread, you got lucky, you can easily get your stock 6.0
When you got some working rom(doesnt matter sense/cm/aosp), here is the stock recovery for your cid https://mega.nz/#!P8oHETTQ!0iKB-iZhMlfYKiE1jvBMyZtribJKgV-hf4Zdy2zAiig and stock rom
https://mega.nz/#!X9IjVASb!bNCxQJlDbX40cLHGlmP1qk0SaYfW93lo8jicFv81B-4 Make sure to download both files and follow instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860

Hello xda-Community!
First off, I have posted this a couple of weeks ago in the general help thread, however it quickly got swarmed and lost, so I wanted to try again.
I have run into some trouble with my O2 HTC One M8. First, my readout from fastboot:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 3.16.0.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 1.15.2133156.UA13G
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main:
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
(bootloader) serialno:
(bootloader) imei:
(bootloader) imei2:
(bootloader) meid: 00000000000000
(bootloader) product: m8_ul
(bootloader) platform: hTCBmsm8974
(bootloader) modelid: 0P6B10000
(bootloader) cidnum: O2___102
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 0mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: ab0efa49
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0
all: Done!
I have been running CM11 for some months and am pretty happy with it, but I want to upgrade to Lollipop. However, the phone won't let me do that, as hboot is only version 3.16.0.0000 and Lollipop needs 3.19 (apparently). The version_main is empty for some reason, I did not erase that part.
But now comes the kicker: To upgrade hboot, I need to return to stock (or set the CID to SuperCID), right?
Now, I cannot return to stock, because there is no RUU / nandroid backup for my CID (O2___102).
As I don't have S-OFF, I cannot install any other RUU. To get S-OFF with SunShine, I need to be on stock though, because right now I get the following error message: "Your device has a debuggable ramdisk (ro.debuggable=1). You need to flash a non-debuggable boot.img, stock would be best."
So basically: I need to get back to stock to go back to stock, or am I reading this wrong?
Is there a way out of this?
In the general help thread, someone said I should flash a ROM close to stock (he/she suggested Maximus HD) for this to go away, but I cannot flash any ROM besides the CM11 one I am already on, as none of the other ROMs allow me to boot - I simply get stuck during boot-up and have to reflash CM11 to use the phone.
The recovery I am using is TWRP 2.7.0.2 if that information is necessary or helpful.
Thanks in advance for anybody who can help me.
Have you try stock nandroid backup 1.54.206.5 or 1.12.206.17 from this thread ?

Well god damn it. I had tried those but apparently, they got corrupted in the download. Just tried again (from my laptop) and it worked marvellously. Thank you for your reply!
Prologue:
So there I was, caressing my shiny and smooth M8.
At the beginning of the year I S-Offed, and added DigitalHigh's awesome Beyond Stock...
Later on, I used a standard RUU GPE Rom.
After repeated Wi-Fi password amnesia, I wanted Beyond Stock Back.
Flashing "GPE_5.1_M8_DH_080215.zip" gives me an "Error 7" even with repeated wipes... hehe... wipes
Searching didn't give me a coherent answer.
So I though, let's update TWRP... and...
Now
The thing's only usable in Bootloader.
If I go to recovery or ANYTHING, the "Google" logo stares at me in disgust.
Odd detail: I'm using fastboot and when it's stuck on the "Google" logo, entering "adb devices" detects the phone in recovery mode.
I flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0, but all I see is the "Google" logo. (I can still feel vibrations on the screen as if I'm hitting a menu button)
I also tried to "fastboot -w" and it gave me the "remote: not allowed" result.
Actually, I tried to fastboot a lot of things and the result came the same.
Anyways, I'll give a detailed log as soon as I remember how, but the reason I post this is 'cause searching for this doesn't give an understandable or reliable result.
Thanks

Give the output of :
Fastboot getvar all
But delete the serial and imei before posting ! If you have an old bootloader you have to use the 2.7 series of TWRP. if you have the latest bootloader (3.18-3.19) you have to use 2.8 series of TWRP !
OOOOOOOOOHHHH, Where I get new M8 bootloader?
Hold Up, going to work, will post 'getvar' later today.
It's there, brah.
Take a look if you can.
It's an AT&T device, you are using it with AT&T ? And you fully converted it from sense to GPE ? You could also :
1: run the GPE ruu again. It will get you on GPE stock again and since you are s-off that should not be a problem of any kind.
2: convert back to sense (original AT&T with software number x.xx.502.x)
i am not sure if the AT&T RUU will cover the "back to sense conversion" so this might be interesting too as it involves the standalone flashing of the firmware first (you need a AT&T firmware, NOT the one posted there !!!)
here is more conversion info :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523
and here you can get firmwares : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
if you want number 2 here is more info with a download link to the latest android L RUU : http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-att-htc-one-m8-lollipop-ruu-4-28-502-1-75822/

Hi,,
I have managed to remove my OS, without making a backup. All i have running is TWRP. Was going to install CM12.1, but didnt update the M8 to the latest software that contains relevant bootloader. From here it went downhill - fast.
Ended up with no OS, no backkups, and no ability to flash other ROMS i think.
If someone could give me a few ideas, i would really appreciate it.

Your case is different and you should start your own thread but there are many same case as yours.
Here is one and the solution is in there.. run RUU - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/os-sos-t3192177
Anything you're not sure, ask there. Don't hijack this thread.
UPDATE: Thanks to ckpv5 and the links that were provided i was able to complete the reinstall - thank you so much!!
Opps - sorry - didnt mean to offend!
Will take a look.
Thanks
Mike
The RUU got me an OS and, right now, that is all I need.
Thank you!!
Hey guys
like described in the thread title, i need a little help here, i got a HTC one M8, thats stock in fastboot.
it will not bootup to anything else than fastboot and RUU. no custom recovery is working or any rom.
i have read multiple threads by now and look 3 days and i can't find the right RUU for the device at all.
If someone could point me in the right direction here i would be grateful
here the getvar:

(bootloader) mfg-name: 0001
and ofc. a screenshot of the bootloader
for the steps to do here:
since device is S-ON, i need to relock the bootloader with fastboot oem lock
using the HTC_fastboot.exe with command prompt to get the device into RUU mode and after that flashing the correct RUU for it, after renaming the .zip itself to RUU.zip, right?
or is there any other way to get the device back to stock or at least a custom recovery / root whatever to set the device S-OFF?
i know the topic was here multiple times, but since device isn't mine and i really don't know what exactly was done before with it, i need a helping hand here.
any fitting android version, 5.0.1 or 6.0 would be fine, since the device will get root and later on S-OFF and a custom recovery and another nougat based android version.
as long as i can boot up with root, i would appreciate every help here.
Cheers
Mike
1. This device is not M8 but M8s.
2. There is no way to S-Off this device currently. Not supported by Sunshine.
3. There is no Nougat rom for M8s, only Marshmallow as current latest.
4. You shouldn't relock bootloader before you have a correct RUU in hand.
5. I know a lower RUU version is available for free but won't work on your device due to S-On
6. No same version but higher version 2.11.161.1 is available but will cost money
7. If you can unlock bootloader then you can restore 1.11.161.10 twrp backup and then OTA to current version 1.21.161.1 and OTA up to the latest.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424942287
8. Here is section for M8s - https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/one-m8s-general
hi to all .. i have htc one m8 and i root it ..i want to check if the root still ..if yes i want to unroot ..my htc version is lollipop ...plz help me
You need to restore a stock TWRP backup (stock ROM) and stock recovery in order to OTA update. See the following thread for the required files and guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Alternately, if there is an RUU for your M8 version, you can use it to update. But not all M8 versions have RUU. Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting) if you want further advice.
EDIT: I see from your post history, that you asked this same exact question last year (and again the year before that), and I gave you the proper answer. Not sure why you feel the need to ask the same question over and over, when you've already been provided the correct answer.
If you don't understand the process, or have any specific questions about the process, then ask them. Otherwise, just asking the same question (how to return to stock for update) is just annoying.

You are on the latest version. There are no more updates. There haven't been for years now (3-4 years?).
14 year old noob who tried to root his phone and got to this state. I've tried every single method but nothing works, spent around 7 hours trying to fix this last night, seriously need some help, btw S is on.

This is your problem .. your device is Htc One M7 not M8.
Anything for M8 will not work on M7.
It's best to ask in M7 forum .. maybe they have RUU to fix your device.
Check - https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one
Add : you cab try to unlock bootloader again, if successful then install twrp for M7, it should boot. If unable to unlock bootloader you need RUU to fix it.

By any chance do you know what RUU I need?
