Hi i downloaded the marshmallow update on my lg g3 and everything works great but sometimes the phone just won't unlock. I try using both the power button and the knock code but it stays shut. Does anybody have the same problem? How can i go back to lollipop? thanks

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. I have moved your question to your device's Q&A forum. You'll receive expert advice here. Good luck!
I'd suggest to back up your things and do a factory reset. I flashed mm with flash tool, update wasn't available and even updating to 5.x caused various issues with gapps not working etc.

Hey guys I've had this issue where regardless of what music app I use, a few seconds after I turn my screen off (i.e. lock the device) the music will stop playing until I turn it back on.
Anyone have any idea why? I'm on version 10e (latest according to PC Suite and OTA Checker), and I'm stock unrooted.
Other than that the phone's been amazing and blazing fast, even outspeeding my M8 GPE sometimes

Also, when charging, this problem doesn't occur. This further adds to the mystery...
Also, it happens if I have music local or streaming, so that rules out network issues.

UPDATE: OK so after messing with about every single setting on the phone, I tried switching it back to Dalvik. Fixed everything 100%. Whole phone is faster, from opening apps to web pages.
Very strange... Not sure why there would be so much ART incompatibility, but I guess it's 4.4.2 and not .3 or .4. If anyone else has has this problem (including an inability to wake the phone up without a few tries), check your RunTime. I'm hoping it'll be better next update, but for now this'll have to do.

Hi there!
I have exactly the same problem since I updated the phone to Lollipop (D85520A) but before that I didn't have that problem. Firstly I found this when I updated to D85519H and then I performed another update to the current version (D85520A) and it didn't help. The smartphone is way better, but this problem is really ennoying me.
ART is not available on Lollipop and my phone went only for one day to ART mode and it was a pain in the ass (when I still had 4.4.2) and then I switched back to normal.
I am thinking about to a factory reset and reinstall Android 5.0 on CSE mode AGAIN and see what happens, but I think it won't help at all.
Do you have any idea of what could I do in order to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
Fixed
Hi there!
Just a short update.
Like I mentioned before, I got this problem when I updated my phone with the new Lollipop FW (D85519H) and then I tried to perform another update using the D85520A but the problem was still there. So I believe that the update didn't fix the issue from the previous update so I performed another clean update using the same last one and the problem disappeared.
Thank you anyway.

Dear friends
I would like you to help me out with the strange problem which encountered me this week. Here's the background: I bought Lg f180k (Korean version of Lg Optimus G) with a stock rom i.e Jelly bean 4.1.2. When i checked for updates OTA in phone settings i received a notification of firmware update. I clicked on update and the process started. Everything was normal till it rebooted as it came with a popup message saying "Device has been suspected to be rooted" and the update failed. Than i connected to the pc suite and put the phone in DL mode and start the process again on the pc. This time everything went normal and the phone updated successfully and rebooted. Here comes the main issue, When the phone rebooted after the successfully update the touch was not working at all. I touched every single area on the phone screen but nothing works. And i could see the interface of Kitkat firmware that means it was updated successfully. Please help me to find out the problem. My phones touch screen stop working when update to Kitkat. I restored to stock jelly bean and the phone is working flawlessly. I am really confused and i have searched everywhere but couldn't find this issue on the forum.
TIP: Phone is working perfectly on 4.1.2 stock rom.
When update to Kitkat 4.4, Touch screen stop working at all but the power button still works.
Thanking you in advance.
Seems like the update failed, I suggest flashing the latest KDZ using LG Flash Tool 2014. Try searching the forum for links to get KDZ and Flash Tool. Don't worry, you're lucky it didnt bootloop or get bricked.

Thanks mate.... I tried the solution you told me but still the same. I used the latest KDZ file that is: f180k30c_00.kdz and Latest Lg flash tool 2014. Everything goes perfect with the upgradation process till reboot, No TOUCH on kitkat
I tried the sling custom rom (Sling_TJF_G_F180_v1.2.3_blueberry_29042014) and it works perfectly.
Please anyone help me to update it to Kitkat ....

Have you solved the problem?
I suggest going into lower version of the firmware.
Try F180K 30b ?
Check on back to me, I want to know the out come as I am kinda doing it for my friend aswell
Hey
I tried every file of kitkat but nothing worked. Even i tried the custom sling rom for kitkat but encountered same problem. Everything goes perfect with the upgradation process but after reboot touch stop working at all. It seems like my phone typically doesn't support kitkat rom :-/ its strange. If you find any useful information kindly share with me. Currently i am using sling custom rom for jelly bean and its working flawlessly. Thanks

I have this problem too. Please sorry my bad English.
So i just installed CM 12.1 and install went smooth but after I rebooted I noticed that there is something wrong with the CM boot logo there is a strange line done the center of the screen, and thought It would go away after a reboot, but even in the UI its still there, I am using TWRP recovery. The actual LG boot logo does not have this weird issue so I know its a problem with CM, I am attaching some photos.
--UPDATE--
Just as I was uploading the photos to xda, my phone autmatically locked and when I double tapped the display to turn on, boom it was gone, I only wonder if this issue will come back when I continue using the phone...

Same thing has happen with every Lollipop rom I've tried as well... Once the phone reboots, I simply turn the screen off then back on and that line disappears on my G3. I'm using Paranoid 5.1.1.

It is a known issue when flashing a custom rom with the stock 20B bootloader.
Your can flash 10R and all is good (at least for me)
Get it here http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/D851/stock_partitions/

I flashed the 20B bootstack and it worked out fine for me
Can anyone post a link on how to flash the 10r bootloader? The zip in the link does not install in TWRP, nor can i get the phone to show up on Odin. Been out of the flashing game for awhile.
I think if you turn the screen off or just reboot the phone it fixes the screen. I have had the same issue with CM12 and CM 12.1 and some other ROMs too. I am running stock rooted on 20E and is observing a battery drain I think I will go back to stock debloated 20B which gave me the best battery life.
Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone could maybe figure out this issue which has been troubling me for about a month or so.
I have ran marshmellow before absolutely fine however decided to flash lollipop back on my phone as I felt the battery life was better.
Anyway, whenever I come back to any version of the Marshmallow roms, i'm greeted with not being able to set a lockscreen (lockscreen has crashed), I cannot uninstall apps without a force reboot and I cannot access the security settings on the phone without it crashing.
I've tried wiping pretty much everything and it seems to be on all roms. I've tried multiple from fresh.
Any ideas?
Much Appreciated
Issue fixed, flashed a new KDZ and seems to be working

DO you know if flashing back works on verizon? I loved this phone until MM...
Also any insight on the steps, did you just use LGUP and get the KDZ off Sotragecow?

@zwalk - sorry for the late response. I did exactly that. Seemed to fix everything. I recommend trying 20f or 20g if it works with your phone as it seems to fix battery issues.
Hi there! So, I couldnt find the Cyanogenmod thread, so i figured this place was better than any other.
Anyway, I have an LG G4 H815 on T-Mobile and so recently I downgraded from Cyanogenmod 14 to 13 because I wasnt a fan, and ever since my mobile data has been throwing a fit. If I go back to stock LG MM it at least has some data connection, but its on "E", but if I try and go to any custom ROM it gets pissed and decided it doesnt need data and it doesnt want service half of the time. Any suggestions? Ive been working on it all day and its kinda really super frustrating. Thanks!!

Greetings and welcome to assist. This appears to be the correct thread for CM on your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/general/cm14-t3464339/page10
If you can't find any help there I would reflash a complete stock rom for your device, it souns like modem/apn issue. Returning to the full stock rom for your device should fix any issues
Good Luck

I've already tried flashing stock rom, and it works when I just flash the LG MM, but Cyanogenmod is still broken with a clean reflash. I've played with the apn settings to no avail. How would you reconfigure the modem settings?

AFAIK you can't configure your modem only change it for one from a different firmware. It does sound like a CM bug which is quite common especially on cm14 hopefully they'll fix it soon
