So i just installed CM 12.1 and install went smooth but after I rebooted I noticed that there is something wrong with the CM boot logo there is a strange line done the center of the screen, and thought It would go away after a reboot, but even in the UI its still there, I am using TWRP recovery. The actual LG boot logo does not have this weird issue so I know its a problem with CM, I am attaching some photos.
--UPDATE--
Just as I was uploading the photos to xda, my phone autmatically locked and when I double tapped the display to turn on, boom it was gone, I only wonder if this issue will come back when I continue using the phone...

Same thing has happen with every Lollipop rom I've tried as well... Once the phone reboots, I simply turn the screen off then back on and that line disappears on my G3. I'm using Paranoid 5.1.1.

It is a known issue when flashing a custom rom with the stock 20B bootloader.
Your can flash 10R and all is good (at least for me)
Get it here http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/D851/stock_partitions/

I flashed the 20B bootstack and it worked out fine for me
Can anyone post a link on how to flash the 10r bootloader? The zip in the link does not install in TWRP, nor can i get the phone to show up on Odin. Been out of the flashing game for awhile.
I think if you turn the screen off or just reboot the phone it fixes the screen. I have had the same issue with CM12 and CM 12.1 and some other ROMs too. I am running stock rooted on 20E and is observing a battery drain I think I will go back to stock debloated 20B which gave me the best battery life.

I'm having a very strange issue when using ANY CyanogenMod based roms on the D851. It's hard to explain. As soon as the ROM boots, the screen is split vertically right down the middle. One side (right) is lower than the left side of the display. I have experienced this will ALL AOSP roms I have tried. Has anyone seen this? When I flash a stock based ROM, everything works fine and the display isn't split down the middle.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Same for me, Im not a super user, sometimes I flash a custom rom and that is exactly what happened to my phone, then I have to come back to CloudyG3 or jump to Lollipop
It has to do with the modem. I think if you go back to 10r...or something like, that it will fix it. I am on BlissPop version 4 on the 20E modem. It happens on start up only, all good after boot.
You can flash the newest OTA (Lollipop) and then go back to AOSP. http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/development/rom-sr-remix-kitkat-stable-deodex-t2961412
Hope this helps!
Pretty sure this is a bootloader issue, CM roms on the newest firmware cause this. Flashing the kitkat bootloader solves your issue

D851 here, When ever i switched from cloudy 2.5 to blisspop 4.0 and after wiping everything i flashed a various of radios bootstacks and etc to make it boot after many failed attempts to boot ( it boots up but after 4 or so seconds after the lg logo the screen turns black and doesnt turn back on until after i pull out the battery) it worked after i flashed the rom WITHOUT a custom kernel so naturally i booted up just fine and thought maybe now i set up everything on my phone and tweaks i should go back and flash a custom kernel i used to use (777 r16) but then it gave me the problem i faced before the black screen after the lg logo no kernal would work. THEN another problem arised similar to the freezing on the black screen randomly during a usage thru my day the phones screen would be unresponsive animations but touch wouldnt work and i know its not my screen cause when i flash back to cloudy it works fine the freezing happens at least every 5 mins. someone halp?
i know this thread is kinds old...
but i have this same issue too... I found if I switch batteries the problem isn't as bad... but, then it becomes bad again. Its weird. Before I swapped batteries I couldn't even login with my google account, after a fresh flash. then after I swapped batteries (gf has same phone) I was able to get through to the end and setup the phone. But, then an hour later it started happening again....
OP, did you find a solution?

i actaully did i think one of the problems was maybe flashing over the same kernel? see what happened was after i gave up flashing the kernel i just flashed without it and to my surprise the build actually came with the kernel pre-installed...shocker and so i had no need to flash over the kernel that i wants because the maker of g3 tmo blisspop already had it in his build and it boots up fine( DISCLAIMER: i cant say this about other roms because the only one i actually tested and wanted was blisspop)

Okay.
Well, when I was flashing I never flashed a kernel.
Ill be getting a brand new Anker Battery in the mail today. Ill report my findings.
I ended up going to a stock based rom and the issue never happened. So I stuck with it. Ill have to do some testing later and ill let you know how the battery works.
It's not the battery
I downgraded my T-Mo G3 since I couldn't root it with LP on it. Went back to 4.4.2., rooted it, TWRP'd it, and installed the latest CM12 Nightly, Gapps, SU, etc.
As long as the sim card was OUT the installation was great on wifi only, As soon as I put it in it shut off right after, or during boot up. Take the sim out and it works. And yes, the only way to get back into recovery was pulling the battery and doing the key press to recovery. Mystified.
If I find out anything, I'll post it here.
I'd say do a complete return to stock, upgrade via LG Mobile Support tool all the way to 20G, see how it works stock for a while. Then root ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197 using the first method) and see what happens.
So I took out my age old xperia M(single sim) a couple of days ago and installed cm 12.1 on it. The only issue I'm facing with it is that if I keep the phone on standby for a while the phone completely and silently shuts itself off. When this happens it doesn't turn on with the power key as well so the only way to turn it on after this happens is by removing and re inserting the battery and then pressing the power button. (phone boots normally then)
This problem only appears when the phone is in standby. I could use it 2hrs straight and the phone would keep functioning normally as long as I don't keep it on standby for a long period.
I've tried tons of different cm12.1 roms and factory reset the phone multiple times but the problem is there with every single rom. Haven't tried any rom that isn't based on 12.1 yet.
Strange thing is that this standby dead thing doesn't happen when there is a music app that's playing some song while in standby. Even if the phone is on silent and media volume is 0. So the temporary fix is to keep playing some song and keep media volume at 0. I would be really happy if someone comes up with a permanent solution though. Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have the same problem with CM based roms, went back to stock and it doesn't have this issue, could it be something to do with ambient display/doze?

No, I don't think so. Which version did you come from? I would suggest flashing 15.4.A.1.9 first because most custom ROMs use it as base and doesn't offer full compatibility with older versions.

Nope. My sister had been using this phone on 4.3 since 1yr now. I decided to use it as a secondary media device when she got a new phone. When I first unlocked my bootloader after rooting the device went into bootloop. So had to restore it to stock 4.1 Indian (couldnt find 4.3 indian ftf) using flashtool (took 2 days and tons of researching to get the drivers working). Then I rooted it again and flashed twrp and cm 12.1. Have been facing this problem ever since.
It's driving me crazy now. Might go back to stock if it doesn't get fixed
Edit - also just checked the sim slot isn't working either. Tried multiple 12.1roms but it won't get detected. Didn't realise this before as I'm using this as a media device and don't need sim card working anyway.

Do what I said to @kurtbvb too, as it may just be base incompatibility. Flash everything except the TA partition (if present) and wipe /data and /cache.

So do I flash stock 4.3 using twrp or do I need to flash the ftf file using flashtool ?

Flashtool. Some files are required which custom recoveries can't flash.
Just flashed the above mentioned ftf file and then rooted the phone, installed twrp and then cm 12.1 based rom. Everything runs perfect now. No random shut downs and Sim card works as well.
Thanks you so so much
A fair number of unlucky LG G3 owners using AOSP/CM-based ROMs, myself included, have a major problem with the issue where a reboot/power-on cycle results in the phone getting stuck at the LG or boot splash screen ad infinitum.
The only way around it is to do a battery pull, sometimes several times, before the phone eventually recovers, but not until after it's gone thru its "Optimizing" or "Upgrading" apps, which takes 5-10 extremely annoying minutes.
I'm using a D851 and have this issue with every ROM I've used (Xenon, Exodus, AICP, to name a few).
This is not a battery issue as I've had the same problem using batteries from 3 different manufacturers. I've also had the same problem when plugged in.
If anyone knows of a fix - would be greatly appreciated (please don't say factory reset or root back to stock - I've already done this and it doesn't fix this issue).
I also have this problem with aosp and cm roms, i also get bsod sometimes. I think that maby the battery is broken, but im not sure since i dont got any problems on stock. When i get money for a new battery i will reply here with results.
I got my new battery today and it bootet up instantly
I had this issue on my d852 running cm12.1. It turns out using autorec is what caused it for me. I fixed it by flashing a kitkat tot then installing twrp using flashify. Once I had twrp installed I flashed the modem.bin from a lollipop d852 kdz. I haven't had a shutdown/reboot hang in a week now.
I have the same problem D851, it happens on latest builds of exodus and aicp. candy and blisspop works fine without any issues. I have changed the battery but the problem persist on exodus and aicp
Hi. Im using LG G Pro E988 variant. I'm trying to flash cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly version. Everything went well and all but i got a problem where the phone likes to reboot itself. So i try to clean everything with the usual stuff (wipe data, even wipe system, cache, etc) and re-flash the same. The issue still persists so i thought maybe it's the problem lies within the cm12.1 itself so i move a step back. I flashed the latest Cyanogenmod 11.2 Snapshot version that was available from their site. The issue still happened and i got no clue what's going on. On my stock kitkat ROM, this issue never happened.
Anybody got the same problem? Thank you before

well i think i did try wild kernel with cm12.1 latest nightlies. The issue gotten worse. More random reboot occured.
Currently on slimLP with his zerkernel v1.7. I thought this one is perfect, but then out of nowhere the random reboot occured again. It's not as frequent as before but still happen.
Right now I'm using Mokee with wild kernel and everything is going well.

Random rebooting is a common issue with all the cm 12.1 based ROM for lg ogp. The cm12. 1 in my opinion was never fully stabilized even by the time the devs were starting to switched to the newer hardwares. If you keep the number of apps you unstated to minimum, you may be able to keep random rebooting down, but this just my observation. I thought the latest bliss pop 4.03 had the rebooting issues sloved, but it rather just had the occurrence down to where it's less. But there are other issues such as the device getting extremely hot, which in turn causes shutdown. To the point where I give up on using LP once again on this device, and move back to kk. The kk may be an older rom, but at least it's stable. With the LP, I think issues with it unable to find the sim card, GPU issues that cause screen to flicker and blackout, all are never fully fixed. Rather, those issues were patched and rigged to make the rom run, but not smooth enough where you see issues such as rebooting and overheating.

Yeah, i think the issue are only on cyanogen based ROM. When i use the lolipop such as Super Mini V6.5 by henrypham91 and lgviet team, it's all good. Deep sleep normaly, no sound delay when game on 2D graphics, and all. But then again, it's noticeably slower if you compare against CM head to head. I really love CM or AOSP based rom because they are so fast.

Their website has an English version. There should be a British flag on the upper right side. Then download their history zip which is a kind of final release.
