LG G4 not working with LG Bridge - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all. Not been on XDA for a while; but I hope you can help me. I have an LG G4, which I just received yesterday from Vodafone UK. I tried to connect it to LG Bridge today to check for updates, but the Bridge would not work with the phone. The phone name showed up in the bottom left corner of the Bridge screen. It said something about it cannot work with this phone at this time; please try later. I had installed the drivers for the phone, and switched debugging on and off a on again. I tried it with usb set to all the different options; but nothing worked. Have you got any ideas as to how to get this working correctly?

what drivers did you install?
The official WHQL_Ver_4.0.4 from the LG site? (can't link it)
Worked with LG Bridge for me on my stock H815.

I had LG Bridge switched on, and I had the LG drivers from the website. I think the LG Bridge is incompatible with Windows 10, which is what my laptop runs on. However, I did manage to get both my husband's phone, and mine, updated to Marshmallow. I used a program from here on XDA called LGUP, and found the relevant kdz file to run the LGUP program. The phones are both on stock Marshmallow now, with no sign of the Vodafone boot menu. I ran LGUP as an update, so that I was able to keep all my apps, files, etc, as they were before.
Thank you for your help, @Yuuseki, I appreciate it.

Cannot flash G4 H815 TWN with LGUP. Continual "Invalid TOT file" errors.

Hi All,
I received the official LG OTA MM update for my H815 (TWN) a week ago and I've just noticed that the bluetooth function now doesn't work at all. It won't even turn on and there is no MAC address associated with bluetooth in settings (It just says "unavailable"). On 5.1.1 bluetooth worked fine.
I've been trying all day to downgrade back to LP 5.1.1 using LGUP but it gives the "TOT file is invalid[1]" error with every KDZ file I have tried.
I have tried these KDZs:
Europe H81520C_00_1218.kdz
Europe OPEN H81510D.kdz
TWN H81520b_00_1218.kdz
The phone is running MM 6.0 and V20c
LGUP detects it as "H815" on COM4 when connected.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? I really need the bluetooth to work and this is soooooo frustrating.
Thanks in advance.

Flash recovery firmware using LG Bridge. That'll solve the problem.
You seem to have flashed wrong (partially incompatible) KDZ file on your device. Talking about H815 itself, there are multiple versions based upon provider and country. So flash recovery firmware, and dont do it when your device is on.
Here is how you should do it:
1. Download LG bridge on your computer.
2. Switch off your Device, pull out your battery.
3. Attach your USB Cable from desktop to mobile
4. Hold volume up button, and put your battery while holding it. It should switch on itself if the USB is attached and you are holding volume up before putting in battery.
5. Once its on Bootloader, flash firmware recovery from LG Bridge.

Thanks Dark$tar. I did what you suggested and the LGbridge reinstalled MM6.0 onto the phone. I then did a hard reset and nothing is different. The bluetooth functionality still doesn't work at all and any attempt to flash the phone with LGUP still givers the "TOT file is invalid[1]" error with every KDZ I have. Thanks for your help though, at least I know I can recover the phone with LGBridge should I need to again.

Glad to hear that I could help! Also, if your bluetooth is still not working, it seems to be a hardware issue. Now that you have flashed the stock firmware via LG Bridge, you can claim warranty and get it fixed!

Also, though I think you wouldn't have made this mistake but since you mentioned it installed MM, so I want to ask:
Did you click on firmware upgrade or the firmware recovery? Note that the firmware update will simply use the base OS files and will replace the new ones and recovery firmware will replace the entire OS (refurbished). The Recovery Option is on Bottom right, in form of text which you need to click whereas the update option is the button on the same screen in the center that you don't have to click. Both of them have completely different functionality.
If you have done it right, well then I am 90% certain its the hardware issue. But I believe that the firmware backup is likely to install the November's released version of LP not MM (unless LG has recently changed that) which is why I am wondering.
Yeah, I clicked the blue recovery text in the Bottom right corner. It definitely installed MM 6.0 onto the phone.
Also, I have found out the cause of the bluetooth issue and unfortunately I have to wait for the next Android update. There was a large discussion on code.google.com about the exact problem I have and the current workaround requires the phone to be rooted. I don't think it's possible to root the H815 TWN yet.

Hi, I have the same problem, did you find a solution to "tot file is invalid" error message?
No, I didn't. Every one I tried gave me that error. I just gave up in the end.

D855 - Flashed wrong baseband... red and blue flashing LEDs

Hey guys,
so I recently decided to update my LG G3 (D855 EU) from CM12.1 to CM13, but it just told me that I have the wrong baseband.
So I flashed a baseband someone recommended on reddit/here (xdabbeb_vs98535b_bootstack.zip) which apparently wasn't the right one.
So I just rebooted (bad idea), now my phones LEDs are just flashing red and blue right after the LG logo.
I tried the KDZ and the TOT method, but both of them failed because they can't seem to find the device!
LGUP just shows "Device Unknown". LG FlashTool never goes past READY!! And LG FlashTool 2014 cannot connect to the device.
I installed every driver I could find. (LG United Mobile Driver, LG Mobile Support tool and even LG PC Suite)
I tried uninstalling the device a couple of times, but every time it just can't seem to find any drivers for them automatically.
So installed them manually. I have "LG Electronics Inc." and "LG Electronics, Inc.". Only the first one worked, the second only gave me an Error 10 in Device-Manager (Device cannot be started)
The device is already configured as COM41. I also tried COM 4 and COM 5 for the flash tool 2014 and LGUP.
I tried everything on multiple computers and I even set up a VM to try it on Win7!
Please help me! I don't care about my data, I just want my phone back
My warranty expired a couple of months ago...

I'm using Windows 10, but I also tried it on Windows 7.
Because Windows 7 seems to work better with the tools
Google LG G3 drivers. I had the same problem with my G3 and i got drivers for the G3 only, installed them and was then able to use LG Flash atool 2014.
Thing is if using Win 10 you need to disable Driver Certification or 10 will not recognize the phone for upgrading etc. Also once disabled they will need to be done each time you start up from cold as Win 10 does not retain the setting when switched off.

I tried that already, but it can never find any drivers... I disabled Driver Certification but nothing changed.

Just a quick question... Are the Drivers supposed to be by "LG Electronics Inc." or "LG Electronics, Inc." because it is showing both of them and I really don't know which one to choose.
(I can see both of them if I manually select a driver)
hi all!
i have the same problem and didnt even got to the PC part.. my phone (lg g3 d855) just flashes red and blue lights.
if you can please explain to me (step by step) what i should do to make it work again..
i installed lolipop cm12 (had stock kitkat by LG before) on it and it worked fine but the whole purpose was to get the MM cm13 so thats when i flashed 35b instead of 21c as requested.
please help me, thank you all.

Success after supersu bootlooping and non recognized usb on g4

Like a lot of people I have the eu version of the h815 and managed to bootloop it after following the garbage methods online for rooting .. I came here for help and found all the methods listed... lg up, lg flashtool 2014 etc.. the problem was that my phone just wasn't recognized by the computer, it charged well but that was it, lg bridge, lg up, lg flashtool.. none could find my phone.. I thought I was doomed to a soft bricked paperweight and even began contemplating the hundreds of pounds needed to purchase a new phone.. however after hours and hours of tinkering I cracked it and now have a working lg g4 again.
first off download and install lg up dll file
then install lg up but don't open yet
find and make sure u download the correct kdz firmware file ( I needed the h81520d file which I downloaded from storage cow as devtesters didn't work for me)
now head to your computer control panel and delete(uninstall) any lg mobile drivers that you see.
connect your phone through usb into download mode and leave connected
once that's done download the old drivers (4.0.4 I believe) and not the newest 4.1.1 or whatever it is now.
then open lg up and hopefully like me you see your recognized phone.
click upgrade (not refurbish) and click bin.. right of bin is the ... symbol.
hit that, choose your kdz file and voila.. let it work its magic..
DAMN IM HAPPY. HOPE THIS CAN HELP SOME OF YOU LIKE IT DID ME.

LG G4 H815 problem

I have a problem, after starting the LG screen.
It will probably be a software error because it does not have a bootlop. When Factory reset is turned on, it shows up, but it does not respond before the ending.
Download mode works, but LGUP does not open completely and wants to enter the model but where?
I've already explored everything with LGUP, the latest 8994 dll version, but it does not respond.
I also explored LG Tools, that recognizes my model H815, the update will run but always at 16% end.
Does anyone know what to do?
Well thank you.

LG Bridge for software reinstall

Hi all,
I was wondering, once I have custom firmware and recovery on my lg g4, will I be able to reinstall the software from LG Bridge. I understand that I could use the kdz downloaded by it in LG UP, but I was wondering, if I put my phone in download mode, could the update error recovery utility in LG Bridge also reinstall it?
Thanks in advance for your help

I tried this recently just to see what it does, but it even didn't recognize the phone. So you probably need to use LGUP (which I used to go back to stock on my G4) or TWRP to flash something else.

I just tried it and interestingly if the phone is in download mode, it does get recognized as an LG device and will initiate an Update Error Recovery
