false alarm clock report - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi to all,
i'm new to the XDA, so I apologize if I'm wrong something. I ask for help to the moderators to follow me in this my first post on xda. I followed the forum for years and I always found the answer that I need time by time, phone by phone.
But now I have an issue I can not solve, and I have not found a solution in the forum (if the problem has already been cited excuse my inability to find it).
i try to explain.
My phone say me that I have set an alarm clock to the "10" minutes more next to the actual time but in reality I have no alarm set.
es. if now is 13.03, my phone says me that at the 13.10 i have an alarm set. when i reach the 13.10 the phone simply move the alarm at the 13.20 without ring or other. when i reach the 13.20 it moves the alarm on the 13.30, ecc, ecc..
my stock alarm clock run in the right way: if I set an alarm, that alarm sound at the right time.
es. now is always 13.03 and i set an alarm for the 14.05. my phone show always the bad alarm time every 10 minutes (13.10, 13.20, 13.30, ecc..) when I reach the 14.00 it show the correct alarm at the 14.05, it rings at the correct time and then reshow the bad alarm time set at 14.10, ecc..
first of all I thinked that I have a problem in my Zooper widget considering that the comand #SALARM# (for show the next alarm) show the bad alarm time, then I installed AutoAlarm (a plugin for tasker) but even there say me that my next alarm is on the "10" minutes more next to me.
repeat, my stock alarm app work correctly and actually my alarm list is empty but the phone recognizes that the alarm is still set (in zooper, in tasker, and also in the notification bar appear the icon of the alarm).
I have an european lg g4 with stock rom (lollipop 5.1), unlocked bootloader, correctly rooted and xposed framework (sdk 22)
I want to say also that i use te same widget in zooper for years in many phone, and when the issue appears for the first time I have done nothing, no install new apps, no change any settings.. it's simply appears there after six mounth that I have this phone.. I was watching a film and that false alarm clock appears.
can anyone explain why?
thank you!!

3d party alarm software

Hi Guys,
Maybe its a stupid question but, I`m going crazy here. I have the HTC 3300. I have tried several alarm software but none of them seem to work. As soon as a put the device in standby, the alarm software does not wake up the device for the time I have set. When I turn on the device the alarm starts doing its job. SPB Time latest version seems to work, but 6 of 10 times the device won`t wake up for the alarm. Strange!!!
I just can`t trust the alarm. For now I just have to use the built in Alarm of the device.
As far as I know (correct me if Im wrong), but there are issues with WM5 and alarm not waking up the device, do a search and there are lots of post on the subject. I thought they would fix this with the latest roms, but obviously not.
Try AlarmClock, excellent freeware
ptravel alarm also works great ..

Old alarm times being held

I have a hermes with black satin and it runs stable. The problem I have been finding is that I change the alarms and they work well. The problem is that the alarm continues to go off at the time the first alarm was previously set to.
This is a very strange thing to happen. The only thing in the settings I have been changing on a semi regular basis is the date and time region when travelling.
I have tried turning off all alarms by not having any days highlighted, the program tells me the alarm will not function yet at 7.30am I will get an alaram sound..
Does anyone know where in the registry the alarms are kept?
Cheers,
you have to cleanup the notification queue.
try this tool attached or dotfreds task manager
thanks for that download. Unfortunately I screwed something up and lost the ability to ActiveSync...
Just reloading now..
Beware playing with things you don't know about, kids!
cheers,

Why don't the alarm work ever!??

What is it about a phone that can do everything yet the alarm clock does not work. every wm phone i have had the alarm has never worked or just intermittantly.
i was over 1 hour late up this morning the alarm is set says its set notifications are all correct everything is done i can do to ensure the alarm is activated however the time comes the alarm does nothing and there is no msg or error msg to say otherwise its grinding my gears any one help me get a 100% reliable alarm on my touch pro 2 pls! and on my tytn2 and xda orbit.
thanks all
Alarm
I have used a program called G-Alarm on windows mobile ever since I have had it, as the built in alarms are CRAP. G-Alarm is 100% reliable and even lets you do quirky things like playing mp3's to wake you and not letting the alarm be tuned off until you have completed a maths question or a maze (to make sure you are awake!)

G-Alarm is very good, but the latest version isn't free anymore. Maybe someone can upload v.1.5.1 which I think is the last free built. I can't do it right now because I am in the office.
i have that installed but yet to try it out! i have noticed in wm alarms you can set 3 however there is only 2 ava'ble there is already one in there named to dont touch this ( is that something g-alarm has added)
my g - alarm is v2.1.2 - registered
wm alarms are set but nothing happens the 2nd shot shows this dummy alarm that appeared did g- alarm put it there?
this is the g-alarm i have installed
Get that latest cab here:

Yeah, G-Alarm puts this one Alarm with "Don't touch" there so that TF3D can show the next alarm in the home tab. Just leave this Alarm as it is -you can set as many Alarms as you want in G-Alarm. No need to ever touch the Windows-Alarms again
sweet! thought so! i used to run fizz alarms but this is top notch got 20mp3s on my mem card all added in the software blends them in and out nicely and the talking clock is sweet it blends the talking clock in perfect to your tunes this is gr8!!!!
I also think the alarms on WM devices are quite rubbish. One time I got to the office 1 hour late and I didnt even know it until I arrived and saw the look on my colleagues face who was waiting to go home. The alarm woke me up and I picked up my phone and dismissed like I had been doing for years. I followed my usual routine but only difference is that I got to work almost exactly one hour late. The only explanation for this is that the alrm must have woken me up 1 hour later. How this happened I just dont know.
Now I have the touch pro 2, I use the alarm on that but I have still left the alarm on my TyTN II on a back up.
are you sure you set alarm in the right way???
pro2 alarm setting isnt in the normal way, you should go to:
setting(touchflo 3d)---sounds---advanced---notification---in Event section,find Reminder
this is the alarm sound

Bull****. From the home tab, tap the clock, touch the 2nd tab. This is the alarms tab.
Also, I use the alarm Monday through Friday all week. It works perfect. So, I think you guys are failing at using it. I have used it like this for a year or more with 2 different phones. The HTC Hermes and now my HTC Rhodium/TP2.

WM6.5 alarm clock not always working

Using stock ROM (Vodafone) and the in-built alarm clost doesn't always work... not sure why, as it's random.
Anyone else got the same problem, or better still a reason why it's not working?
I am using a custom wav sound, which is large (attached) - but without it the alarm just doesn't wake me up!
The build-in alarm of WM is unreliable since it's birth.
Long, long time ago, when I overslept once more, I bought pTravelAlarm.
A few bucks and your problem is over.
(But there are also free alarms like Klaxon.)
I have not had any problems with the alarm actually going off. However, I have noticed that it will sometimes play not only the alarm sound but also the "reminder" sound. I'm not sure why this is and it doesn't seem to happen every day. I would suggest trying a smaller sound file or maybe set up a test of the alarm and your custom sound during some time when you can observe it. Perhaps you can see if there are any special conditions that make it not go off (other programs running, checking email or something, etc...)
I am having the same problem all of a sudden
It always worked on 6.1 (and some custom ROMs)
It worked on the official 6.5 ROM
I installed Tomtom and alarm stopped working. I removed it and the alarm worked. I installed some other apps (.NET 3.5, email scheduler, timesynctz, flitsnav) and the alarm stopped working. I haven't been able to pin it down on 1 app. I removed them one by one but the problem now persists...
I have had the same problem. Woke up to late and looked at the screen where it said that he couldn't connect to the internet (probably to sync my email). When I pressed ignore, the alarm went off, email came in etc.
Maybe it better to use Klaxon or G alarm...
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\Sounds]
“Repeat”=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{15F11F90-8A5F-454c-89FC-BA9B7AAB0CAD}]
"Options"=dword:4000001B
Ok, what does that code snipit (registry settings) actuall mean/do???
Same thing here... alarm sometimes fails to go off. I have noticed when it happens that the clock is locked up and is not at the current time. Also the top left of the screen says "messaging" instead of "Start"
I've noticed the messaging deal pop up from time to time for no particular reason... and when it does the clock stops keeping time. I think the fact that the clock stops is the only reason the alarm fails to go off. Any button or screen press will unfreeze the clock.
This is on a TP2 T-Mobile official 6.5 rom. Reflashed several times, and problem always returns. Unsure if it happened on the original shipped rom.
I've had issue and changed to SPB Time, never had an issue there.
Are you sure your phone wasn't locking up in the middle of the night? I have had that happen, the Blank Screen of Death locks me up, the phone just sits idle and alarms don't go off.
has anyone tried the registry settings of HD2Owner? You have to add the new settings? How does it work?

CM9/RobotoMod clock

I just put RobotoMod-Xena 1.0.1 on my phone last night, but didn't completely finish ironing out all the glitches on the install before I needed to hit the sack. I use my phone as my alarm clock, and managed to figure out how to set it while I was darned near already asleep.
So, this morning at the bright-n-early time of 5:15 AM, the alarm goes off. I'm used to the Sense desk clock that pops up a window when the alarm sounds asking if you want to deactivate it, or snooze it. That window wasn't there, and I couldn't get the alarm to shut off (which really pissed off my wife ). I finally had to power down the phone to get it quiet.
I don't know if this is a CM9 or RobotoMod thing, but how in the world do you deactivate a sounding alarm? Or should I find an actual Alarm clock app and use it instead? I'd rather not, since it defeats the purpose of having it built into the phone in the first place (IMHO).
u said u used the Sense desk clock , mean not the origin cm9 clock ?
No, I meant that I was used to the sense clock that was on the stock ROM before I loaded RobotoMod/CM9. It's the CM9 clock I'm having troubles with (I think) - I don't know if the RobotoMod devs changed that or not. I'm still trying to figure out where everything is in the code so I can find it for myself, but I'm not having much luck.

robotoMod rom's clock work fine on me , did you try to reflash the rom?
Yeah, it's on the third try right now. One complete wipe and reflash, and one reflash without wiping. The clock works fine - its the alarm that I can't turn off once it goes off.
hmmm....that's odd. I'm just sitting here at the desk and decided to test this again. The phone is not plugged in, and I used the 2nd alarm slot (default Sat. and Sun. alarm). A "snooze or dismiss" window pops up, and worked. The volume buttons were set to dismiss, and that worked. I just changed them to snooze, and it worked.
I'm going to go back to the first alarm slot and verify it works there, then I'm going to attach the charger to it and make sure it works before my wife gets really, really, realllllly annoyed with me on Tuesday :fingers-crossed:
