hi.I do not want to do unlock boot loader in htc m9 .I have s-off phone by xtc2 and now i want write recovery.img . please help me
Have you tried the usual fastboot commands?
To flash a custom recovery you have to be in download mode and the bootloader has to be unlocked.
Having S-Off you could do the bootloader unlock on a rooted phone via echo command from cmd prompt.

You have to use fastboot commands in fastboot. Type in "fastboot devices" and your device should show up. To flash the unlock token type in " fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin"

I have a HTC One X which has a T-Mobile firmware, CID: T-MOB005. Several months ago it was not possible to flash this device, has this now changed?
yeah it has....i've got the same CID and the JB firmware has been released
Can you point me i the direction of the right tutorial?
Do I need to S-OFF or change me CID for custom roms?
S-off is not needed, its as we speak even impossible to obtain .....
But you can go here for your firmware

Read it carefully !

I found the right firmware, but can't find the instructions.
Rename the .zip to firmware.zip and place it in the fastboot folder
- Boot the phone to the bootloader and relock the bootloader :
Fastboot oem lock
- then put the phone in ruu mode with this command
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
(watch the capitals, this command will put the phone into a black screen with a silver HTC logo)
- then flash the firmware
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
- you see the text on the pc screen, when it says OKE you are good. If it failed you reflash the zip right away again.
Then reboot the bootloader, unlock it, flash the custom recovery, make a full wipe and install the new JB of ypur choice and don't forget to flash its boot.img too
This is what I need to do to upgrade Hboot from 1.36 to 1.79, so I would get stuck on no 4
Even with the .zip method you'll need to relock/unlock the bootloader. It's NOT flashable in
recovery. Create a new account at htcdev.
Here's how to use the zip:
1. fastboot oem lock
2. fastboot oem rebootRUU
3. fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (do several times if it fails)
4. fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin.
Any help would be great, thanks in advance

Htc sends unlock code via email, go searching old mail.
Or sign in at htcdev and follow the steps to have new unlock code.

Yes you can receive a lot of Unlock_token.bin from HTCDEV I take from them 3 for my phone and all of them working. Just go again in htcdev choice unlock bootloader enter with your username and pass fallow the instruction and you will receice new unlock_token.bin it is no problem to register again with the new acount and new mail and again fallow the instruction and you will receive your Unlok_token.bin
As Shown in Attached Screen Shots My HTC One M8 is S-OFF, CID-11111111 But Written ***LOCKED***...
Q.1 -What Does This " ***LOCKED*** " Means?
Q.2 - If this Phone has S-OFF .. and i want to flash TWRP Recovery.. then why this error coming everytime i try o flash ? (Failed (Remote: Not Allowed) as Shown on ADB Screen Shot...
am i missing any step... or should i have to still use sun shine ?
Thanx in Advance ...
Unlock the bootloader via the HTC dev site, then you can flash custom recoveries. It's free and you are s-off so you can set the flag back to LOCKED anyway.

Hasn't there also been an echo command to set the flag to unlocked, or am I mistaken?! With S-OFF at hand this should work and he should be able to flash the custom recovery in faceboot mode after this has been done.
EDIT: when device is fully booted, edit installed and adb debugging enabled one can do as follows:
Unlock
adb devices
adb shell
echo -ne "HTCU" | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 bs=1 seek=33796
exit
adb reboot bootloader

Problem Solved by unlocking boot loader via "htcdev".... but thanks anyways
I need some help with my HTC Desire HD, my device is bricked it wont boot, all things i can do to unbrick it begins with unlocking bootloader....
got the identifier token
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
then i did all the steps in htc dev...and put it in via fastboot using
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
when hitted Yes, the phone normally reboots, but...
I said before that he was in bootloop and when i putted in fastboot mode after that, the bootloader didn't unlock...
i guess the bootloader unlock didn't finish the process cause the bootloop...
