Device Status shows custom but no root - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I have a galaxy s3 I747UCUFNJ2 that I tried rooting with CF-Auto-root, installed TWRP recovery and managed to get SuperSU updated but when i go to open SuperSU it won't open with message: "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" Device status shows custom instead of official. I dont want to have to totally wipe the phone just root with no custom rom.....
What am I forgetting??

Since you have TWRP, just flash supersu.zip from TWRP.

Try busybox from play store
Do you have Knox?
You might need to freeze it with TIBU or remove it.

[Q] SuperSu Not instaling root binary?

I flashed 4.3 stock on my Galaxy Nexus, installed TWRP, and flashed this version of supersu in recovery http://download.chainfire.eu/345/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip
For some reason, when I open supersu, I get this prompt: http://i.imgur.com/thgXsFh.png
I would have thought flashing the supersu zip in TWRP would install the binary needed?

WugFresh not installing binary

I used the wugfresh tool to unlock/root and install custom recovery.
When it asks to test root I open SuperSU and it says
There is no SU binary installed, And superSU cannot install it. THis is a problem.
How do i fix this. ive already flashed back to factory and tried again. same thing.

TWRP says there is no root/superSU.. OS says differentlyu

I'm currently running the stock SM-T310 4.4.2 build. I have my device rooted (verified by Root Checker Basic) and I have SuperSU installed via Play (SuperSU Free v2.4).
Yet every time I am in TWRP and attempt to flash a rom, the ROM install fails immediately and at Reboot, TWRP asks if I want to install/fix Root permissions. What is going on and why is there a discrepancy?

SuperSU Binary Update "Installation failed !"

Since I rooted my Nexus 5X, whenever I'll go into the SuperSU app, it'll ask me to update my binary but a few seconds after I go to do that, it pops up with the message "Installation failed ! Please reboot and try again." However even after reboot it won't work. Has anyone had the same problem, or have any idea how to fix it?
Other things to know is that I'm using a Mac so if I need to use it, I'll have to use Terminal commands on Command Prompt, the version of SuperSU I flashed was Beta 2.56 and the custom recovery I'm using is TWRP.
Thanks in advance.
guessing you flashed SuperSU to your phone via TWRP. after you flashed it, did TWRP ask you again specifically if it should flash SuperSU?
if that was the case the solution is easy: repeat the process and decline that offer from TWRP, because that replaces the version of SU you initially flashed.

SM-T217S Kingroot worked?

I got a galaxy tab 3 (sm-t217s) given to me and had a wild hair to root it so i natually looked up some auto root methods after towelroot didnt work and was pointed to Kingroot. Never used it before and not sure if im regretting it yet or not. I obviously have root access because i can install and use root only apps but i tried downloading supersu (before realizing that kingroot also installs its own super user app) but it wouldnt successfully update the binaries. Also there seems to be no custom recovery options availablefor me to directly install from the device, all have tobe done via Odin. My big main question is would i be fine to use Flashify or Rashr to flash a custom rom or a custom recovery file i downloaded?
Yeah You can Use flashify Or Download TWRP Manager From Playstore and select Samsung Tab 3 lteltmo And Then install it ..it'll install successfully And you can use The custom ROMs to flash it via TWRP..

Click to collapse
Sweet I'll try it out. I kinda figured it would work but better safe than slaving on Odin later reflashing stock firmware
Please repot your sucess..
It works or at least did for me. With the kingo su thing that came with it I just installed titanium backup and uninstalled the kingosu and then installed supersu via store and/or flashing n custom recovery if I already flashed it using flashfire/twrp/flashify.
