edit: Kingo Root does it.
edit: Kingo Root doesn't do it.
Hey guys, got my Nexus 5X with Android 6.0.0 build number MDB08L. I rooted it with the Nexus Root Toolkit v2.1.0 successfully, tested with Root Checker.
Problem is after my root process, NRT asks me to install BusyBox 1.24.1
I've granted BusyBox root access and tried installing to /system/xbin and /system/bin but installation to both directories are not successful. I'm not sure why this is the case.
Would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Happy to supply any other info. Thank you!
I think NRT may cause the problem, try rooting with new systemless supersu

Thanks. Is there another workaround? I prefer not to try an experimental way..
I'm on 6.0.1 with latest systemless and everything is good (apps, busybox, xposed, gravitybox,..).
btw you can try rooting the old way (supersu 2.52) but don't use NRT

My question is about systemless root. Has any effort been done to get that working on the Z00A?
Systemless root is normally created for Nexus devices where their bootloader detects system partition if it's modified or not, then prevents the end user from booting. Later discovered that systemless root is also able to not trip Knox or break OTA support on Samsung devices.
Systemless root isn't useful on our device, because our bootloader detects kernel and recovery and prevents the end user from booting if these files are unsigned unless the bootloader is unlocked.

Is there a possibility of a systemless xposed without depending on magisk?
I'm following this post (which has been proven to work) to get systemless root (already installed and working) as well as systemless xposed without tripping safetynet.
However, the only build of a systemless xposed for MIUI on MM I can find is xposed-v87-sdk23-Magisk-MIUI-edition-by-SolarWarez-20161127.zip - which clearly depends on magisk. I took a look at the zip contents, and much stuff does heavily depend on magisk.
However, Magisk is not needed anymore (suhide and root switch work better) and will only trip safetynet, so I don't want to install it.
Any ideas? Is there a build of systemless Xposed for MIUI without anz magisk stuff?
I rooted my S20 Ultra (SM-9880) with Magisk, but since it is a systemless root, it does not allow the installation of apps on the system folder, which I would like to do with anti-theft apps. Is there any way to undo this and root it with SuperSU instead? Or is Magisk the only option for this device?
