Android Car Rear View Mirror Owners? - Connected Car

Hi guys
Ive been trying to choose a dasg cam but im tginkibg abouthing about getting one these instead.
I'm just wondering how good they really are or are they just a gimmick.
Some things that really need to know are.
1. How good is the front camera as in the spec it says that it's only 30fps where as I would have preferred 60fps.
2. Would I be able to hard wire it to the car and leave it on all the time and then view it over wifi from my phone using an android app.
Other than these two things. I really just want to know how food they are and if the mirror is really a good mirror and not just a dull reflective surface.
And help would be really good

Anyone ??

If you left it on all the time it would drain your battery. But with a 12v adapter to micro use would be possible with correct wiring.
I don't have anything to compare camera to other than the other mirrors I own. Which they said where 1080p but really 720p. Only my A33x5 is true 1080p.
Mirror works like normally mirror. The new a33x5 screen is big improvement over a23. But still hard to see in sunny conditions
My use is really only recorder and google maps. If you need other features I would suggest something dedicated or double din. If you just want recorder only, then buy dedicated one for same price.

Thanks for the reply.
I have one of those battery savers that would cut the power before it would drain or damage my battery so I should be okay on that front.
But are you able to view the camera from an Android phone using an app (most connect using a wifi connection )?
Like I said I was really just in the market for a dash cam but I can see the benefit of a mirror with not only a dash cam but also a reversing, fm transmitter...etc

Help needed
Hy guys
I am in desperate need of help, please forgive me if this is not the exact place for my request.
I own a full hd rearview mirror dash camera, that also has 3g and android. The problem (until three days ago everything has excellent...) is that it got stuck on...upgradin android, optimizing app 1 of 1. I saw that this happens on android, but the issue with my mirror-tablet-camera is that IT ONLY HAS ONE BUTTON! So I have no volume up button in order to start a recovery mode or something. It has a reset button, but it is useless...in this case. I tryedkeeping the reset pushed 10 seconds, 20, 30, also tryed pushing iti while booting, tryed pushing the power repeatedly while booting, keeping the power pressed 10-20-30 seconds....nothing helped!! Any idea? Help? Please? Thank you.

Note 4 gets hot when using camera

Hello
My Note 4 gets pretty hot when using camera (either when camera is just on, taking just low as 3,4 pictures or using viber, Skype or tango). Phone becomes hot in back by camera and screen area itself. Once camera goes off everything it's back to normal in a minute. Does anyone else is experiencing something like this? I asked this on another thread but this way question might get more attention and more answers.
I just realized next: when I turn the camera on and put phone next to my ear there is something like static sound coming from speaker. As aoon I exit camera, that sound is gone... Can someone try this?
Thanks!
Wow... OK. Did anyone at least try to test for this sound and press home button while holding phone by the ear?
Update:
I just got of the phone with Best Buy and they confirmed couple cases of Note 4's overheating as well. Well, at least I am not the only one...

Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem. After open the camera and take few pictures the phone back and especially phone screen will be very hot. As soon as shutdown the camera and keep phone not used about 10 minutes the phone returns to normal. I was looking for the advice how to solve this problem but so far could not find any answer. if you have any good solution please post here for reference. Thanks
coming from the htc m7, im not used to my photos being post processed on the fly. i didnt know the first set of photos i took with the note 4 it was processing filter effects on my face which leaves me nice and smooth looking.
so im thinking all that extra cpu power during camera use for on the fly post processing could be heating your phone up.
maybe scrounge around the settings and try to turn all that off??
mine doesnt overheat, the screen does get brighter when using the camera as with most phones ive used which ive always thought was on purpose when using indoors and outside.

There is an issue with the proximity sensor, its not working some times.
Heating issue is present but it depends up on the apps. playing games like NFS is causing more heat than any normal games.
Rear cam is damn good no issues about that. never faced WIFI and random reboot issues
Yes, You might be having them but you see, They are only Software Bugs... Don't worry Man! We have software Updates Support...
There are many software bugs.
I think Cyanogen will fix all the bugs in future updates. No software is perfect out of the box! Let's see how cyanogen deals with the promises along with YU.
Reboot issue
I own Yureka & my phone restarted once or twice when I play game, especially Clash of Clans.
I guess this is the CPU heat issue, still checking. I have underclocked CPU to check if phone reboots randomly or not.
Will post results. Meanwhile if anyone have solution, I would be happy.

Hi,
So with these kind of issues like heating/reboot, etc.... you mean to say that we have some kind of solutions, and not to bother though every phone faces the same issues, if am i correct.
And, we can go and grab this phone though we get it below 10k which has good features where we dont sunch phone.
I'm impressed with 2GB-RAM mostly.

Hi. Thank you for reply.
Finally I have found solution.
I underclocked CPU to min 400 max 800 MHZ and set IO scheduler to noop (that is FIFO with very less CPU cycles)
I have found considerable less heat issue now without any lagging with COC. Also now battery lasts much longer than earlier. I am very happy. Cheers !

Hey! For those wondering how the camera on the Yureka really is, here's a screencast of the same so that you get a feel of what it really is! youtu.be/oSkgd8jwCKs
I'm not allowed to post links so please add http:/ in front of the above address to view.
Else search for screen cast recordings on youtube of each phone. You'll get a feel of how the camera really is

Unboxing: What’s in the box?
It is one of the first cellphones that I have received factory sealed. So I was able to say that it was a brand new phone and no one else has ever used it.
After removing the sealing I could see the phone, a small foldable manual and an USB/data cable with a power adapter in two different boxes. The power adapter is suitable to EU wall-socket.
Casing & Build Quality
The build quality is very good. Nothing knars and there is a nice looking silver frame around the front of the phone. The whole body is, like the one of the normal Blade S6, made out of plastic but it doesn’t feel cheap. Some users of the normal S6 mentioned that they are able to push in the back of the phone with their fingers. This isn’t the case here. Maybe because the backcover is removable on this phone (on the normal version it isn’t).
If we stay at the back of the phone we will find the dual LED flash in the top left corner. Next to it the 13MP back camera and a microphone. The camera is framed by a silver circle just like the front of the phone. Approximately 2cm below you can find the ZTE logo imprinted in light-grey.
At low range you can a CE logo, the number „1588“ and a picture of a crossed out bin. The writing „Designed by ZTE in California Assembled in China“, that you can find on the normal Blade S6, is missing. Lately there is the loudspeaker with a small bump next to it so that the phone doesn’t lay flat on the backside and covers the loudspeaker.
On the right-hand side you can detect the volume control and the on-off switch down below.
The micro-USB connector is in the middle of the bottom and next to it in the right corner you can find a microphone. The USB-port is a bit special because you use it to remove the backcover of the phone.
The left-hand side of the phone is clean. There are no buttons or for example SimSlots like on the normal Blade S6.
The 3,5mm headphone jack and the IR-blaster are placed on top of the phone.
If we look at the front of the ZTE Blade S6 Plus we will be able to see the all-white borders and the black display. The position of the earpiece is at top in the middle. Left besides is a sensor bar and lately the front-camera. Below the screen is a blue circle. It’s the homebutton. If the phone is turned off or in standby the two buttons left and right next to the homebutton aren’t noticeable.
There is one more thing to mention. The phone has rounded edges.
As previously reported is the backcover, in contrast to the normal Blade S6, removable on the Plus version. If you remove the back of the phone you will find the 3000mAh battery, the two micro-SimcardSlots and the micro-SdSlot. Of course there are the dual LED and back-camera visible, too.
With its rounded edges and the thickness of 8,4mm the ZTE Blade S6 Plus feels very good in the hand. The plastic housing doesn’t feel cheap because everything is well build and it isn’t too lightweight.
The borders around the screen are big and according to this the dimensions of the phone are bigger than other 5,5“ screens, too.
Display / Touchscreen / Multitouch
The used 5,5” 1280x720 IPS HD-Display is great. I can’t see any pixels and the colors are natural. The viewing angle is stable and watching YouTube videos makes a lot of fun. You can adjust the brightness very high and this is why there should be no problem using this phone in sunlight. The automatic brightness adjustment also works well and reacts fast on changing ambient light conditions. So far there have been no ghost-touches or something like that. The touchscreen is very snappy and precise. Finally I have to say that it is a five point multitouch screen.
Processor & Storage
The ZTE Blade S6 Plus has the same processor like the normal version. It is the solid Snapdragon 615 octacore processor with an Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM.
It’s a 64bit Prozessor and there are no lags noticeable. Not even if you switch fast between the different homescreens. Apps and games starts fast and works well. I could even play graphic intense games like Asphalt8 and RealRacing3 on highest settings without any problems. 2Gb RAM are enough space to run various apps at the same time. For example it is possible to hear music in the background and to surf on the internet at the same time.
The phone has 16Gb of internal storage. The storage is partitioned in System Rom, User Rom and Internal SD card. You can expand it with a micro SDcard with up to 64Gb. I have tested a 64Gb micro SD card from Sandisc and it worked like a charm.
2G / 3G / 4G
The ZTE Blade S6 Plus supports DualSim (two Micro-simcards) and 4G LTE. The reception is very good and without any abortions.
Attention: SimSlot2 only supports 2G! You can only use 3G and 4G LTE in SimSot1. But of course you can make calls or write sms with in both SimSlots.
Sensors
To see the supported/build in sensors please check the GoogleDrive link that I have provided at the end of my review.
Wlan
The Wlan reception/range is very good. It is even better than on my Meizu MX4.
Bluetooth
The Bluetooth range is very long, too. I have tested it with several phones and Bluetooth speaker.
Cameras
The front-camera has 5MP with a F2.2 aperture and a 80° wide-angle lens. The main camera on the back has 13MP with a F2.0 aperture and gets support by a dual LED flash.
The camera quality of both camera is decent in my eyes. The front-camera is good enough for selfies and apps like Skype and with the back-camera you can make snapshots and semi-professional pictures.
Please conceive an opinion by yourself by looking at the pictures at my GoogleDrive folder (link provided at the end of my review). All pictures were made with the preinstalled camera app without any changes in the settings.
Benchmark Tests
Please check the results in the GoogleDrive link that I have provided at the end of my review.
Firmware
The ZTE Blade S6 comes with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box. Everything works fast and reacts snapppy.
The preinstalled launcher is called „MiFavor 3.0“ and looks good. There is no app drawer, so you find all the installed apps on the homescreen just like on FlymeOS or MIUI. You have to sort your Apps with folders for a better user experience. If you don’t like it you can easily download a different launcher with the preinstalled Google PlayStore.
Sliding up on the homescreen or pressing the menu button (left or right next to the homebutton) opens a menu where you can change the background/wallpaper or the animation when you scroll through the different homescreens. In the settings is possible to change the function of the two buttons around the homebutton. You can select that the back button is on the right and that the menu button is on the left side of the homebutton or the other way around.
If you hold the homebutton for a while (not only touch it) GoogleSearch will open. The ZTE Blade S6 Plus has a multilingual firmware and supports a lot of languages just like German, English, Spanish, French… .
Unlike the normal ZTE Blade S6 the Plus version doesn’t support SmartGestures (I couldn’t find any settings) but on the other hand there is another launcher called „Family Mode“. With this launcher every icon is very big and so it is easier to handle for older people who are sick of the sight of small things.
Moreover ZTE has implemented a service with the name „ZTE AliveShare“. ZTE claims that it is 40 times faster than Bluetooth. With this App you can get connected to your friends, share e.g. pictures and play games against them. I wasn’t able to test it in depth because I’m the only one in my area with a ZTE smartphone.
There is no option to see the battery percentage preinstalled. You can easily fix this if you install the app „Battery Percent Enabler“ by kroegerama. After the installation you have to set a check mark and reboot the phone. Then you will see the battery percentage and you can delete the app without losing the notification.
Root
It is possible to root the ZTE Blade S6 Plus using the curren version of KingRoot (4.0.0.233).
You can download it here: http://203.205.136.145/mmgr.myapp.co...&f=d388&p=.apk
Copy the downloaded .apk file to your phone, install the app, start it and click on "Root".
Audio
The sound quality is good and phone calls are clear as well on both sides of the line. Just like on the normal Blade S6, the Plus version has the little bump next to the loudspeaker as well. It really helps to improve the sound and the loudness if you lay the phone on its back while listening to music or watching a movie.
Notification LED
The ZTE Blade S6 Plus has a notification led in the form of the blue pulsating homebutton. It looks very nice and I like it more than the normal LEDs of the most phones.
Battery
The 3000mAh battery is non removable. It will always be hard to say if the stated value is real or fake because you can’t for example scale the weight of a built-in battery. The battery lasts very long and a screen-on time of more than five hours was unproblematically possible. Please don‘t forget that this really depends on the user behavior and can differ very hard from user to user. Maybe if you play games for a long time you only get three hours of screen-on time.
GPS
Supported
Compass
Supported
IR-Blaster
The ZTE Blade S6 Plus has a built-in IR-blaster on top of the phone. It performs vey well. I have tried it with the free app „Remote for Samsung TV“ from the PlayStore. Even long distances approximately 6m away from my television were no problem.
Radio
There is a radio preinstalled but you have to use headphones to be able to use it. It doesn’t support DRS.
Conclusion
All in all is the ZTE Blade S6 Plus a good looking phone, with great specifications and an outstanding reception of GPS, Wlan and networking. Everything works out of the box and all GoogleApps are preinstalled so that you can directly download tons of apps and games. The phone comes with the newest Android version (5.0.2 Lollipop) and until now I couldn‘t find any bugs or lags. Everything starts fast and reacts snappy. At the moment there is no working method to root this device. So if you definitely need root for some apps I give you the advice to wait a bit of time before you order (there is still no root for the normal Blade S6, too). The display and battery are good and the reception of GPS, Wlan are very good. I really like the IR-blaster but I see it as a gadget and will still use my normal remote. One thing that I can’t understand and where I really see potential for improvement are the large bezels around the display because they make the phone very big in comparison to other 5,5“ and especially to the new borderless smartphones like the Nubia Z9. An improvement would make the operation with one hand a lot easier.
Pro:
- powerful processor
- very good reception of Wlan, Bluetooth and GPS
- Infrared blaster supported
- Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with GoogleApps preinstalled out of the box
Neutral:
- Cameras
- Notification LED with only one color (blue)
- price
Contra:
- only SIM-Slot1 supports 3G and 4G LTE
- less accessories in the box (no case or screen protector)
- huge bezels around the display

Hey, very nice review.
Can you confirm, that shaking phone don't turn the LED on? I really like this gesture on my blade S6.
IR blaster is nice to use in pub, where is something ugly in TV you don't want to see
But for practical use I doubt about using it at home...Maybe if you lost your remote.
Do I have to change something in the settings before I test it?
With normal setting nothing happens when I shake the phone.
Settings - gestures & motions - turn on.
If you don't have this menu in settings, it is probably not supported.
This menu doesn't exist on the Plus model.
It is now possible to root the device. Please check my review for more information.

And follow these steps to switch to SuperSu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=60818978
Firmware ZTZ_Blade_S6_Plus_B02 available for download since 26/05 rom ZTE Hong-Kong support.
For rooting B02 I used KingRoot-4.1.0.249-release-nolog-201505211812_105001.apk (previous one did not work) and then I used SuperSUme.zip making it easier to replace the Kingsroot against SuperSU.
Thank you very much for the information.

My X727 two week review

Picked up an X727 during BF deal (great price) and have been using the phone for couple of weeks now and I thought I would share my experience.
I didn't intent to use this phone as a DD but it has become one. I like it more than I thought I would.
I have unlocked the bootloader, rooted, and installed TWRP. Got rid of bloatwares and changed the launcher to Nova. Besides those changes, the phone remains pretty much stock.
Using Nova not only bypassed eui, but also setting up some gestures on Nova helped with a better UI experience like jumping directly to system settings, jumping into the control display, and pinch to shut down.
Here are few of positive points.
1) The phone is quick. I didn't really notice it in the beginning but I can feel the slow down when I switch over to 808 or 810 based phones. It also stays very cool for the speedy performance.
2) For T-mobile, having hot spot support and Wi-Fi calling straight out of the box is really nice.
3) Battery life is long. Not incredibly long but still really nice to have the extra cushion.
4) Sound quality and the double stereo speaker set up. Not loud but still fairly good sound.
Here are few Okay points.
1) Display is good. Not great but not bad. Slightly on the cool side. 1080P display is fine.
2) Fingerprint reader is competent. Only seems to have to read twice when it's waking up from a deep sleep. Other times, it works well and quickly.
3) I was worried about the camera but It's okay. Nothing to write home about but it takes okay pictures.
Here are few of negative points.
1) The stock camera HDR mode is horrendously slow to take picture and to process. Definitely need a better camera app.
2) Quick Control display under the recent button. Why? (also missing chromecast control)
3) No earphone jack. I miss being able to plug in any old ear buds. The included ear buds are good but can't charge at the same time.
There are couple of odd s/w behaviors but it's a minor and the phone functions as DD just fine. Hope to see a Nougat (either official or CM14.1) release soon.

There is a separate thread where I have listed apps that I froze. The phone seems to function fine.
I didn't delete system apps just because I've run into problems before.
I just froze them.

What would like to be "spoken" about?
By me (and my x720) extending your list;
pros
Good quality with headphones, supported by Dolby Atmos and equalizer
Screen is hard, it can be Gorilla Glass 4
Build-in cleaning app (phone manager)
Comfortable grip
Great money-specs value, in my opinion the best choice
cons
Slow and not too good quality of cams pictures
Build-in apps, witch need too many permission to work, still worse than google play's replacements, sometimes in chinese language and is trouble to unistall them
Stock apps drain battery too fast, on Nova Launcher, Firefox, Pi Music etc it is improved
Less ROM + multilanguage support
Stock apps force portrait screen orientation, witch is annoying in 5,5"
Stock ROM kill features like multi-colour LED notification (force chosen colors), take some troubles with notifications etc
ROM, ROM, ROM... It's one of the most and only true trouble in this phone. Everybody agree?
I broke down and purchased one locally for $200. Have only played with it for a couple hours but so far so good. I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. Magisk V9 and Phh superuser work to pass SafetyNet so Android Pay and Pokemon Go are a "go"! Having a OnePlus 3, QuickCharge 3.0 just doesn't compare to VOOC charging. The phone gets hot and it slows down the charging. Haven't seen it hit 3000+ma yet. VOOC is cooler and faster charging tech. Good build, I like it.

You gotta understand that QC and VOOC are different charging technology. I agree that VOOC would run cooler and faster. But with QC you shall never see very high current, cause QC increases the voltage by keeping current about same.

Yeah, I understand. I just got used to how my OP3 charges. This is my first QC3.0 device.
how did you unlock bootloader and installed twrp on le pro 3 x727?
It comes with the adapter to 3.5mm earphone jack, right?? (I have tons of 3.5mm earphones so is worth to ask)

There is a thread on how to unlock and add TWRP. If you are having a problem, you should ask in that thread.
You need to explain exactly where the process is failing. Just be careful since it's easy to mess up and brick your device. Also unlocking will void your warranty.
Ask the question there and see if someone can help you.

I have unlocked and rooted three x727s so far and have not had any problems. 18s,19s, and 23s(or was it 21s)

Screen won't turn off

So i have been facing this really strange problem.
When i flash the stock firmware the screen just doesn't off. Neither on timeout or pressing the power button.
When i press the power button the phone just gets locked n lockscreen starts showing up but the screen doesn't turn off.
The other strange thing is that if i plug the phone via usb to my laptop or any other power source then pressing the power button does turn the screen off.
Any idea what's causing this n what's the solution.
Because of this screen issue i am being forced to use a custom rom currently its havoc os.
I would love to go back to stock though. It has working fingerprint lock n i find the one ui more comfortable
Edit:
Ok i found the problem.
the device keeps detecting usb. hence i keep getting usb connect/disconnect notification n the device lights up.
now does anyone have its solution
Same problem right here. I have to turn off my phone and turn it on completely each time I want to use it...
I was having the same issue, it only started after using Odin to flash the November update, it has since stopped, and I think it may have been due to some moisture getting into the phone.

like alot of a70 users (counting me) you suffer from a bad usb charging board ,the only way to fix it is to change the charging board, they went cheap again and that's what happens...

I sold mine n got a oppo reno 2.
Much better than a70. The camera's better, has a true edge to edge display, more ram n storage, a better processor.
Samsung's selling the same thing the a80 for 110k while i got this for 77k here in pakistan.
Samsung really needs to step up its game.
The only thing I miss is the one ui.
Do this :
Open the dialler and type *#0808# ( if it doesn't work do *#2873# ) and USBSettings should appear.
You will see some options like MTP , PTP , RNDIS+DM+MODEM etc.
Choose the last one , should be RMNET+DM+MODEM+ADPL.
Then apply and reboot.
Tell me if this solves the problem for you

Doesn't look much different to me. The reno might not have a camera notch but it has a fatter chin. Any difference seems minimal plus the a70 has a bigger screen anyway? Just a preference thing IMO.
As for the A80, it has the best camera of all 3 it has one camera that swivels and does front and back duties and again it has a bigger screen. yes it's more expensive but then, again, I think it's down to preference? You can't just say the reno 2 is the same as the a80 but cheaper - it isn't, there are differences.

I guess it does come to personal preferences.
Because I still prefer the reno 2 specs over a80.
Its got a slightly better processor. More storage for less bucks. Better ? glass. Bigger battery, newer type c usb. A headphone jack. N as i said all this for less. I don't take much pics n I ain't so knowledgeable about that but if the pics look good then i am happy. So yeah personal preference i guess.
But the only sad thing for me is that there's no one ui n zero xda community development for now.
