I seem to be experiencing an issue where my AFTV2 has an issue with it's network after waking up from sleeping. It's wired (using a homeplug). Basically I wake it up pushing up or down on the remote and usually I'm still within Netflix or at the Home Screen. If in Netflix if I try play something, I get errors. If I go back to the home screen, none of the menu's are populated with content and it says "check network connection". If I go to networking settings it says "wired (problems)". Removing the network cable and plugging it back in fixes the issue, if I reboot the device networking is fixed. This doesn't happen every time the time sleeps, but it happened again last night.
I never experienced this once with the AFTV1 and I was using the same TV and network setup for about a year with the AFTV1.
Just wondering if I'm alone in experiencing this. If I alone I think I'll revert to 5.0.4 stock, block updates on my Mikrotik, then see if the issue persists. I just want to eliminate the easy possibilities.

Something Odd today.
Haven't had much issue but I started using XBMC on the ouya. Was watching an SD movie, so not much throughput, and all of a sudden playback stopped saying the connection timed out. I didn't think much of it, and I figured it was an issue with the alpha build of the SF capable XBMC...
Well it happens a few times, while I was running a ping to it. Turns out the connection was dropping. Fine, no problem, its right next to the wifi AP so ill switched to wired, I heard of wifi issues with the ouya. Well... its still doing it. About every 5 minutes or so I have a connection drop, lose about 20 packets, and it doesn't always happen under load.
Anyone see this? this could either be an overheat issue, or a driver issue, but I haven't seen it yet, so I'm wondering what its doing all of a sudden.
Weird... fixed after a hard reboot. BTW originally I was having issues from a cold boot, so for some reason theres some instability, possibly on some boots
I am having this strange problem where every time I connect to a wireless network my device lags terribly for a minute or so. This happens both when turning wifi on and when it turns itself automatically on when the screen comes on. This lag only appears to happen when the wifi first goes on and doesn't happen at all when the wifi is off. I notice that the wifi icon in the quick settings menu flashes orange for a second and then shows the network up/down arrows. I downloaded an app called my data manager to try and see what apps were using data, but it doesn't seem to be showing anything weird: Os services and settings used small amounts of data.
Could this be a hardware issue? I did drop and almost break my n7 a few weeks ago, but it has seemed fine since then.
Anyone?
Back up device, factory default, re-test.
Restore when done.
Do above to confirm that it's a h/w issue.
I've checked around and have seen other phones with the issue, but I've tried the fixes like forgetting network and resetting network settings. Ever since mm, every time my phone screen shuts off, it disconnects from wifi, kind of. I will still be connected jn settings, but it says no Internet available. I have to reconnect every time, and then it will work until my screen goes off again. I feel like this is killing my data since I don't always notice it. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? I'm completely stock, no root or anything. Just did a factory reset a week ago and hoping I don't have to do it again since I'm finally set back up.
Have this issue with both wifi and mobile data. Mine doesnt matter whether the screens been off or not. Its like it goes to sleep periodically no matter what. Never had the issue until the latest update. Its not tied to a specific app, so its either the radio or a bug in the phone.
I have AICP on my L710, but, lately it has ben acting strange. I use it with FreedomPop so I don't have a lot of data and am trying to set it do auto updates and the like over wifi. I have these settings set this way in Play and on the phone. I'm also noticing that the phone is sometimes stopping on its own and rebooting. Somethings it goes through a long animation and is doing a lot of updates, other times reboots, but, I don't see it updating any apps. It seems to often happen when I'm in my car (not connected to a mobile network) while a USB cable is attached for power. I just want to listen to music that is stored in my phone and I wind up having it stop and reboot.
I have also noticed that the phone is using up my very limited mobile data in just a few days. I see it is the OS that is what is using all this data.
I know this month a few days ago at the beginning of the cycle I had it set to restrict background data, play was set for only update over wifi, etc. I also installed a better data usage monitor. Today I got a warning that I had used over half my allotment of data. While looking things over, I found that restrict background data for mobile network was no longer checked. I'm guessing this got reset back to non-restrict after an update that I didn't initiate.
So I have a few questions:
What triggers the auto update to reboot on it's own? I imagine the files and what not are downloaded when on wifi as they should, but, the actual reboot to initiate the installation seems to be happening on its own. Is there some setting to ask if I want to update now I could switch on to have some control over this?
It seems like this auto rebooting seems so be happening with a USB cable plugged in. I was wondering if maybe the connector is getting bad or something mechanical is causing a short or long an causing this. I can sort of understand something like that causing it to shut down, but, it doesn't seem like it would reboot automatically.
Finally, is there some way I can set it specify restrict network data on every bootup. I have looked at boot manager, but, this only allows me to specify what apps start. Is there an app that includes system settings that I could install? This seems like it would just being doing the same thing that changing the setting on the OS restrict background setting checkbox. It seems like it should be persistent.
Or maybe there is a bug in the ROM, that is overwriting this setting when it does an update?
Anyone have any ideas on what might be going on, what I can check and do to fix this?
TIA
Hi everyone,
I have 2 Galaxy S8+ from Verizon and here are my issues:
Past issues:
One of them did not come with the Galaxy Apps store (Not the plays store), and that phone also experienced the DQA issue
Current issues:
If I turn on Fingerprint gestures, the fingerprint sensor will stop working, this was an issue I had from the day I got the phone and has continued even through the updates. Here's a thread I made about it a while ago : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/fingerprint-sensor-t3595614
My internal speaker has detached, or at least I think that is the issue, as sometimes when I am in a phone call and shake the phone just a little bit, it will either start making a weird buzz sound or completely cut off the sound. Shaking it again will fix it, that's why I think it's a physical issue. I haven't dropped my phone and just in case I ever do, I have a case and a screen protector on it, and neither of them (phone, case, screen protector) have any damage marks on them.
The Biggest Issue: Currently this is the most annoying bug I am experiencing is that whenever I go to lock screen and security in the setting app, it crashes the settings app. I also can't use the search function in the settings app, as it crashes the app withing a few seconds. The lock screen and security is the only menu in which I experience this, I am 99% sure this is due to me turning on Secure startup. I had it turned on a few days after I got the phone and it worked great, I had to turn it off once, about a month ago in order to get a quicker boot. After that I was experiencing issues turning it back on (meaning I turned it on, rebooted the phone and it would not work) , after some persistence, I was able to get it to work and it has worked and still works.
One thing to mention is that I had done the most recent system update, I am not sure this issue was caused by at, since the inability so search in the setting menu has happened prior to the latest update.
I have tried everything other than a full factory reset (wiping all cache, wiping apps cache, reset setting, reset network settings), which I refuse to do, It is absolutely unacceptable for me to pay this much for this phone and have so many issues with it, I have factory resetted my phone (Samsung's recommendation) in order to fix the first issue listed above, multiple times and it did not work.
At this point I really don't know what to do, Samsung support has been useless in this, I don't wish to replace my phone right now as I need it to much to even give up for one day, If anyone has any advice/fix other than factory resetting, I'll happily try it.
Thank you,
GGgamer16
Sounds like a factory reset is needed. I just tried all you mentioned with zero problems on the newest update w/ navbar options and experienced none of that. Speaker problem is most likely hardware related.
Anyone had any luck getting rid of the wifi disconnect? The issue where wifi disconnects showing a ! next to the wifi symbol on the status bar?

You try changing your WiFi channel? Using 5ghz or 2.5ghz? I use Wifi 100% of the time I'm home and never have any issues with disconnects.

Yeah I have tried changing channels. It didn't matter. I'm on 2.4 GHz.
I found a possible fix from another forum. I changed my wifi encryption from wpa2 AES/tkip to wpa2 tkip only last night and was rock solid after that point. I didn't have any more wifi issues... Just wanted to mention this change for other people. I usually got 5+disconnects every night. I'm gonna try just the AES option tonight and see how it acts.
