Something Odd today.
Haven't had much issue but I started using XBMC on the ouya. Was watching an SD movie, so not much throughput, and all of a sudden playback stopped saying the connection timed out. I didn't think much of it, and I figured it was an issue with the alpha build of the SF capable XBMC...
Well it happens a few times, while I was running a ping to it. Turns out the connection was dropping. Fine, no problem, its right next to the wifi AP so ill switched to wired, I heard of wifi issues with the ouya. Well... its still doing it. About every 5 minutes or so I have a connection drop, lose about 20 packets, and it doesn't always happen under load.
Anyone see this? this could either be an overheat issue, or a driver issue, but I haven't seen it yet, so I'm wondering what its doing all of a sudden.
Weird... fixed after a hard reboot. BTW originally I was having issues from a cold boot, so for some reason theres some instability, possibly on some boots

I've been having a problem on all of the recent nightlies, and i know lots of people are having the same problem on the CM6 RC2, where turning off the screen puts the wifi to sleep, even when you have the wifi sleep policy set to "Never".
I noticed this when i started trying to stream music from Grooveshark or Subsonic- if i turn the screen off, the song stops a few seconds later, presumable because it has run out of buffer.
Is anyone else still having the same problem? Does anyone have a workaround for this?
edit: it seems to have no problem staying awake on my home network, but my work network is where i have the problem- could it be something about the wifi network that is doing this?
well, strike that- i'm encountering the same problem on the 2.2 stock rooted ROM as well. it appears to be a problem with the wireless network here at work.
I might have left my phone screen on at home, which would have let everything buffer, preventing me from noticing the problem there, but i'm pretty sure the wifi sleep policy works correctly on my home network. Very strange.
This is easily reproducible for me as well and only started happening with CM6.
for me this happens on every rom, even stock. there has not been a day i've gone to bed and woken up 8hrs later with my wifi on.

I'm glad I'm not the only one- though it seems to happen more to N1 owners, it seems this is happening to android users all over the place. From everything I've read today, no one can figure what causes it- there's no rhyme or reason to it. For me, the wifi sleep policy works correctly on my home network, but not my work one.
I read a post from a week ago somewhere that there was a fix coming from broadcom (those are the same people that are responsible for my router's wireless N problems with DD-WRT), but I don't know if that was referring to a Nexus One specific fix or a fix for all android phones.
I'm glad at least my wifi sleep policy works correctly at home, but the fact that, for some reason it doesn't work on a different network is extremely annoying.
Hey there, I brought my htc one x on contract with 3 at the start of august, the first one had a problem with the battery and had to wait to have a new one in white but eventually, I recieved one that worked. It had been great till a few weeks ago where my wi-fi has been poorer than before, everything else was fine though including my computer and few other things but my one x suddenly buffers every youtube video which take a while to load and keep pausing, the wifi disconnects every now and then but the internet along with twitter and facebook you can't always tell but it defiantly is poor at times. The Wi-fi icon at the top is full at times even when it isn't connecting well to the wifi and then always goes up and down. Always random. I tried the squeeze test which has once or twice improved it but nothing is effected by it usually, even when i downloaded the wifi analyser app, at first i squeezed it and it shot up but since then even if it says the signal is good, it still isn't. It's the youtube that is the worse, but I don't think it is just that as the wifi disconnects and goes up and down at times and just poor compared to before. Do i have this same problem though? The squeeze dosen't always work and what shall i do? Go back to the 3 store?
Really was a good phone till this problem popped up.
So there is this one thing that have nagged me in the back of my head with my HTC One X, and it's that the WiFi sometimes (rarely) drops for a few seconds and then reconnects (at full strength), it seems random, happens both in use and when not using it, as in I unlock the phone and it's not connected to the WiFi, 3G connectivity seems to work just fine when this happens, it appears to be a WiFi only thing.
Now I'm sure this is NOT the WiFi hardware fault, the squeeze test does not make my WiFi signal die, and my brother also bought the very same phone, just another color, and it behaves similar in WiFi performance, and it too have no issue with the squeeze test, however, as my brother rarely use WiFi or browse with the phone, I haven't been able to get an answer if his phone behaves like mine does every now and then.
My router is a Netgear WNDR3700, running on Ch 11 (no one else on the channel), and other equipment such as laptops have no issues with it, so I'm wondering if this is software issue or what not, the phone is currently running stock HTC 4.0.4.
What could create this issue I wonder? I'm thinking of setting my routers beacon interval to 1000, it seems to save battery according to some threads, but I can't seem to think this is relevant here.
I have the same issue with my HTC One X+. In fact, I found this topic because I was seeing whether it was an issue (I hope it's not...).
The issue seems random, but now and then I turn on my phone screen to have no signal and then it reconnects. Not the WiFi bug and not a dodgy signal as it's strong.

Im now onto my 3rd white HOX for my wife (my grey one has been perfect!) and the second one suffered really back from wifi drops, the squeze test afaik doesnt drop the signal but make it better???? If I squeze mine it shoots up to full and when I release it, it drops back down really low. If yours and your brothers are the same maybe try another channel
I think this may be the issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708492
I've heard about nebulous "WiFi problems" but it doesn't seem like there's any authoritative information on what those problems are. In any case, I was wondering if anyone has experienced this:
This is easier to notice while using some kind of streaming service like YouTube, Netflix, or Hulu, but it's not tied to any specific app. While using the tablet for internet-related activity, every once in a while, the WiFi just stops working. The icon shows full WiFi signal bars, and it's still connected, but any and all attempts to use the wireless connection utterly fail. However, turning WiFi off, then back on, immediately fixes the problem. This happens randomly, as in, sometimes it will happen after 5-10 minutes of use, and other times, it won't happen for several hours.
The tablet is relatively new, has never been dropped or otherwise abused, and has the fitted OEM wraparound case on it. I'm at a loss to figure this out, and am close to just sending it back for a replacement. But I wanted to make sure this wasn't a semi-recognized problem before I did so. Especially since this feels like a software/kernel problem that could theoretically be fixed by installing a different ROM.
Thanks in advance!
After reading around the internet I'm finding that I'm definitely not alone in having my G3's Wi-Fi quit working in the last few months.
They are dropping like flies.
Has a fix been found yet that I'm missing?
Wi-Fi option in settings is grayed out in on position and the phone lags like crazy. Bluetooth seems to suffer the same. Often the mobile network connection fails to connect as well.
Restarts, battery pulls, safe mode, nothing helps.
Phone was perfect until 4 days ago. Nothing was installed or updated.
