So I bricked my phone... yep
Basically, what I did was I flashed a stock rom for the international version of the GS3 instead of my AT&T version, which caused it to brick
But that's okay because I did the SD Card thing where you use the debrick.img on the card, which this is my second time doing this, so I'm used to it.
I got it to boot up.
But here's the problem:
I have no way of connecting the phone to a computer because the charging port in the phone is broken! So I'm stuck using the stock recovery, and every time I try to flash a stock rom, via SD card, it gives me the error:
E:Signature Verification Failed
I've tried a couple of different stock roms even from SamMobile.com but none of them seem to work.
So where can I find a signed, verified stock rom that will pass the test and allow me to flash the rom with the SD card?
Or is there some other workaround?

I've never used a debrick image, so I don't know if this would work. Just an idea to try and get around the broken USB port.
Could you root the debrick ROM with some app based method like Towelroot? It is probably vulnerable unless it is based on one of the newest stock ROMs. Once you have root, use an app like Flashify to flash a custom recovery, and then you should be able to flash back anything you need.
I'm not sure what you mean, I don't think the debrick img is a rom because my phone won't boot passed the GS3 screen. There's no way to get into the phone, all I have is download mode and stock recovery and that's it.

My mistake. I thought the debrick images got you into a working stock rom, just based off your external SD. Thankfully I've never had to use one.
Try this TWRP-2.7.1.0-d2att https://mega.co.nz/#!Qwgy3DzB!0geWEcBY14ftWVNzKfN3L-A757ntaMcHl9_Mv9vHmqs copy it to internal memory and rename it to update. zip
Go into stock recovery flash and after reboot back into recovery flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51

I got a replacement GS3 through insurance and rooted it yesterday. Instead of flashing CWM I tried going with TWRP this time but didn't realize that TWRP doesn't read external SD cards and my roms were all saved on the external SD. And of course, this was after I wiped everything. So I tried unrooting and flashing back the stock firmware but it keeps failing in ODIN. So I tried re-rooting and flashing CWM which works but none of the roms will flash. I keep getting a system 7 error or something to that effect when I try flashing any rom. So now I can either get to recovery mode, or download mode. If I power the phone on it gets stuck on the Galaxy S3 screen. Any thoughts as to processes to try? Links? Threads? I've tried just about everything I could find.

Since when does TWRP not read external SD cards? It see's mine just fine, for well over a year. Where is your nandroid backup, you know the one you made before you did anything just incase it didn't go as planned? In any case you didn't give much information to help troubleshoot. 'I tried unrooting' - if you were going to flash a stock ROM there is no need to unroot anything as the stock firmware is just that, stock. How did it fail in ODIN? Did it say why it failed, what file were you trying to flash? More often than not the system 7 error is caused from an out of date recovery, normally i would tell you to start there but given the fact you admitted to just randomly attempting to flash things to the device you are going to want to start from stock. The second sticky thread in this sub-forum is where you should start reading, because based on your post you either need a refresher or never have read it to begin with.

For whatever reason, TWRP wouldn't read my sd card. And when I said I tried unrooting - I just meant flashing back to the stock ROM. Odin fails when it gets to system write. It goes down a bunch of lines of code successfully but when it gets to system write, it fails every time. I've downloaded a few different stock ROM versions for AT&T and tried switching USB ports around my laptop. I've also tried a few different versions of ODIN but I'm not coming up with anything but a soft bricked phone still.

Did you have usb debugging enabled before you attempted to flash via ODIN? It sounds like it doesn't have permission to write to the /system partition. You can try doing a factory reset from recovery to get past the bootloader and make sure, or use Kies to flash to stock via this thread.

I could have swore I made sure to check before I started the process but I cant' check now because the phone won't boot. Can't flash back to stock. Can't flash any roms. I can get into download mode and recovery though. It's weird. I've reverted other phones back to stock plenty of times. It just keeps failing no matter what I do with this.

Here's another question for you, I've looked all over for the newest CWM in .tar format but everything comes in .img format. I can't use the .img in ODIN to flash to the phone and can't boot my phone to use the CWM app to flash. I suppose I could try TWRP again but when I flashed the first time - TWRP wouldn't read my EXT SD card.....

if you could wipe everything get on odin with 4.1.2 update reboot use cf root to root it (if you dont have root) after reboot download ROM Manager from Play Store install CWM recovery (easiest way to root) hope this works
Hello! I have been flashing roms/kernels for awhile now. I have tried probably 12-15 different roms and beanstalk has been my favorite for awhile now.
Anyway, i decided to revert back to stock so i could update and try stock 4.3. First thing i did was flash stock 4.1.1(i think thats what version it was) firmware with odin. Everything went fine and phone booted up and worked perfectly. So i proceeded to update via software update in the settings menu. My phone updated flawlessly and before i knew it i was on stock unrooted 4.3. Needless to say I did not like the changes, so i decided to go back to the older version.
So, i flashed the stock 4.1.1 firmware with odin again and it was a pass. I then tried to turn my phone back on and it would hang at the samsung logo. So i figured i would restore my old beanstalk backup. I tried to restore it and there was an error. So i rebooted my phone and it hanged on the samsung logo again, only this time there is that little blue cyanogenmod guy there like it used to be when i was running beanstalk. I tried flashing different stock firmwares and now they all fail with odin. I rebooted into recovery and did a data wipe many times and i still cannot boot or flash anything with odin.
I can still get into cwm recovery and download mode. Im thinking that the older stock rom i flashed caused problems because i was on 4.3. Something wrong with the bootloader maybe?
Any help or advice to get this fixed would be great. I still feel there is hope because i can reboot into recovery and download mode.
well nvm, my phone is really screwed now. I read another post and it said to flash a boot image file. I flashed the file and tried to reboot and now the phone wont come on and i cant get into recovery or download mode. =-( now i officially have a paper weight
be there... done that

I would first download a fresh version of a rom and the corresponding version of GAPPs and on your computer. Transfer you files onto you misco SD card via the SD card slot on the computer. Boot your phone into recovery and flash them from the /sdcard1 option. Should flash successfully. Then reboot. I always keep spare ROM versions on my removable card for such emergencies. Also, keep a current ROMbackup there as well. Good luck.

It's kind of been a known issue since the day the OTA came out that downgrading the bootloader from the one that comes with 4.3 will hard brick your device. No known fix.
I tried installing a native hotspot plugin through recovery (twrp) that was for CWM and my phone got stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy SIII" screen. I didn't know what to do so I wiped everything (I have/had no idea what I was doing) and now theres nothing on the phone at all (besides TWRP). I checked for a bootloader in terminal but there was nothing. I try flashing stock roms (such as 4.1.2 and 4.3) but got some sort of "auth" error with odin.
Before this happened my phone was running 4.3. Does anyone have any idea what to do? I need this phone. Can I save anything from the internal storage?
Are you running a 4.3 bootloader? If you are, you flash a stock rom that is older than 4.3 in Odin.
Is you phone an i747 or i747m?
i747. where can i find a 4.3 stock rom?

There is no AT&T 4.3 stock ROM that can be flashed via Odin because AT&T never made it available as a complete ROM, only as an OTA update. This might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
That would help, but I have no way of getting the .zip on the phone. TWRP refuses to let me use the external SD card and I cant sideload because adb cant detect my phone.
EDIT: Got the .zip on my sd card and im using CWM but when I try to flash the .zip I get some sort of status 7 error.
_
"e:Error in /storage/sdcard1/ATT_I747_UCUEMJB_StockRestore_222014.zip

EDIT2hones working, this is solved! Used the guide above. Had to downgrade my version of philz touch.
I've been trying to get cyanogenmod 10.2.1 to work for my phone, and I was getting assert failures in recovery. I found an AIO firmware update by freeza and flashed it in CWM and rebooted and now my device is hard bricked. I can't access recovery, download mode, and the phone will not power on. I flashed this file; Galaxy-S-fre3-MB1FirmwareModemAIO.zip, specifically. Is there any way to revive my device without having to JIG it or is it just done for? I was also on a KitKat rom.

Sounds like its toast without a jig or JTAG. You could have switched to PHILZ ADVANCED CWM recovery. This recovery works better than TWRP or regular CWM. I had many of different issues with these 2. This zip is not a ROM, but a modem zip.
JB india firmwares link please. I cant download via Samsung link

If you have a Virgin Mobile SPH-L710, you can use the de-brick image below, otherwise you need to search around Google for one. You would search for "debrick image for <model numeber>".
I got this problem solved with the help of zachf714, invisiblek and a special thanks to xstefen for providing a working debrick image. Here is the link to the working debrick image that xstefen provided: http ://download.xstefen.net /getdownload.php?file=./xstefen/mmcblk0_backup.bin.zip. (Remove spaces) all you need to do, is write this image to a micro SD card using linux's
Code:
dd
command or Win32 Disk Imager. Then put the sd card in your phone, boot into download mode and flash a stock ROM using Odin.
Wish anyone else who have this problem luck.
P.S. I am not responsible if anything happens to your phone because of this.
I recently tried flashing TWRP on my S3 and now getting stuck at boot. I can't even get to stock recovery to factory reset because the usb port on the phone does not work at all. Is there any kind of script or anything I can place on an external SD that would run at boot to get the phone back to stock recovery or anything?
Did the USB port work before trying to flash twrp?
No it did not. Sorry for the late reply
The phone won't enter TWRP or stock recovery? Without a working USB port, I know of no way to get stock recovery onto the phone other than possibly using flashify, rom manager, or some other program that can flash a recovery from the ROM.
No TWRP or stock recovery unfortunately. It powers up to the "Galaxy S3" screen and gets stuck like an old Honda on a deep muddy road. Won't boot past there. Wondering if there's any type of script or something I could put on an external sd card that tells the phone to boot from external and restore back to stock or flash a kernel or anything.

There were debrick images that allowed the phone to boot from an external SD card but a Odin was still needed to flash a stock ROM.
Any chance the images still exist anywhere?
