Hi Masters!
I'm having issue updating my HTC M8 to Marshmallow. I tried the RUU that I got from HTC website (Unlocked/Developer). But I'm getting e155 error. I checked the readme file and it says that I dont have the right RUU for my HTC.
Installed CID Checker and here's what I get: HTC__001 WWE
I am assuming that this is a Unlocked Phone.
Please help me out masters. I beg you.
I really want to install stock marshmallow without loosing the features of HTC Apps.

I'd wait for another few days, the rumour is that MM 401 might be pushed next week.
We'll just have to wait and see.

If you are S-Off you can flash the Dev Ed firmware. Or you could flash the ViperOneM8 ROM. It got updated to MM yesterday, and works with 4.16.401.10 firmware. That's what I'm using with it right now.

Hi, I have managed to update my device but then I started having problems so wiped my device. Now when I flash the old RUU it tells me that I am downgrading and need the new RUU. could someone please send me the link as I cannot find one anywhere. Thank you very much

Dev edition comes with an unlocked bootloader, that is all

So, being as my m8 is s-off, unlocked and not carrier locked (HTC--001), there would be no real benefits it converting it to a de version ?

well u may get earlier updates, when lollipop sense hits, i will be converting to whatever variant gets it first

your M8 variant are WWE international unlocked ,
you can wait for an update lollipop via ota ,
if you don't want to wait , you can try to install cusrom arhd 30.1 , Insertcoin 6.0.0 , or Skydragon ,

I used the RUU for the developer edition but its all US themed. Is there a RUU for the unlocked varient?

Ahh, shame, i'll just go back to stock WWE .401 and wait for it, i've had a play with lolipop and it is better for notifications ect, but HTC say they will release it soon.

Why do you say that? I've got WWE RUUs for 401.6 and 401.9. There is no reason to think that there won't be one captured for 5.0.1.

ok well i stand corrected then, its been a while since i last messed with my M8, it wasn't available and everyone was saying it wont ever be. So thanks for your correction.

Any 4.x firmware will work on the latest current ROMs.
What you have is probably the latest firmware for T-Mob US; and either way it will work on the custom ROMs.

SD is a fine ROM. At least from what I've read. I've been exclusively a Sense guy on this phone!

I'm not big on suggesting favorite ROMs. Everyone has their own specific preferences, needs, etc.
I've used stock Developers Edition, LeeDroid, Skydragon Sense, and currently on SROM (just flashed it last Friday). But that isn't to say others, such as InsertCoin, Viper, Etc. are not every bit as good.

The Verizon branded version of Nougat for M9 is not out yet (AFAIK) The version number above is for unlocked devices....

no, if you try flash this update change the firmware, thats contains the radio.img, and the phone not function in gsm or cdma network

There's no official Nougat release from Verizon for M9 as of yet.
There's a brand new rom from two well respected developers just hit though,
should work for all carriers, it has Verizon in its setup options.

my device is 3.37.605.7 so in the other word i can't update it to 4.49.605.11 RUU in the post above?
