My Cell no longer receives calls :( - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am at the point of smashing things over here. I have a VS985 on T-mobile. its been great. I must have flashed roms 100+ times. Now after flashing the new MM stock software I could no longer get inbound calls. I assumed it was a rom bug. I went back to a L rom. Still cant receive calls... I switched from global mode to 3g only and I can get calls. Once I set it back to 4g i'm screwed... Ideas? I'm going insane.

to make things better I cant KDZ it back to stock! It says unknow error in LG tools after reaching 4% of the SW Upgrade... Ideas?

Need help with cyanogen signal

Im fairly new to android (only had my phone about 2 months, refused to flash it till about 2 weeks ago).
I went from the 2.2 uk leaked rom to cyanogen 7 beta5. That worked perfectly on baseband uk T-mobile 2.51.1
I then installed the .zip update to fix the gps (beta 5.1) and suddenly my phone is dropping txts left right and center.
Im getting no texts through for an hour then 10 at a time. Whenever i send a text is just comes back unable to send txt.
Phone reports full signal and 3g+H working perfectly. But just keeps dropping txts and is sometimes unable to make calls.
i have tried basebands(UK Tmobile) 2.51.1, 2.21.1 and(UK) 34.0.3 (34.0.3 had no signal).
Im a noob and any help would be apreciated
I have somewhat the same problem, at first i didn't get signal in 2g network and in 3g i could make calls but could't recieve calls and texts. i changed to international 2.51 and now it seems to work. I will post again if the problem reapears.
It's weird. Changed back to tmobile 2.51.1 and re-signed up for the tmobile +orange shared signal. Works perfectly atn
Give an update if it drops again

ICS Leak - Missed Calls and Data Drops on LTE

I have been running the ICS leak for quite some time now and haven't had any major problems with it until now. Ever since they launched LTE in my area I have been having trouble with my phone not receiving calls. When I finally talk to the person that was trying to call me, they say that it would ring twice and then go to voicemail. My phone never rings and I don't receive any notifications about missed calls. I have also noticed that when it does this, my data no longer works at all. If I toggle airplane mode, it will snap the phone out of it.
This problem seems to be growing in frequency. ATT tried to sell me some BS about the phone gets clogged with interference from travelling through low signal areas and they re-registered my phone on the network and told me to give it a try. My phone is still having this issue. LG had no clue what was going on with my phone.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be going on and what I can do to fix this?
New rom? Just in case something did happen with the rom somehow.

I'm also having the same problem on official Bell ICS...

Why not use the official release?

Voice data is not sent over the LTE network but instead is sent over EDGE, HSUPA or HSDPA (gsm) networks. This is because LTE was designed to handle data only. Currently a few mobile operators are begging to launch voice over LTE capabilities (VoLTE). However ATT does not support VoLTE capabilities so whenever you place or receive a call your handset will switch to the gsm network to handle voice. After the call has ended your handset usually takes a few seconds to automatically switch back to LTE if available. During the time your phone is switching back networks your data will be inaccessible. If your phone does not switch back or your data never returns then you can toggle on/off airplane mode to reset it as you have mentioned doing. This should not be happening very often, unlike what you describe. What I would suggest is flashing HoNo's CWM official V20c ICS from att. This will update your phones baseband and firmware for your radios and I've also heard is more stable and has improved battery life. Hope I could help.

I had the same problems with the leak at home where I have a weak signal. Never had any problems with CM9 or GB. When I switched to the official rom all those problems went away. So I think it was just a baseband issue with the leak.

We ( my wife and I) got the same issue... With Bell.
So we sent both phone ( GB by the way non root ) to bell to get them repair ...
Sent back the phone... 1 h later ... got the same issue .. so they ( futuretel in Markham Ont Canada) dont find the issue, they just reflash the phone.
sent it and ... weeks later got it back ... lost it again ... but they change hardware and also reflash.
Now it's my turn ...
I'm still waiting for my phone because when i got it back, got issue ( probably firmware ) because I lost the speaker and speakerphone ... so if someone call me i was not able to ear them...
Sent back the phone again for repair and now i'm waiting.
Update my wife phone 2 day's ago with ICS from LG( bell ) and I dont think she got the issue.
If it's happening again, LG will have to step in because it's 2 repair for the same issue.
Since we are not alone in this situation we will be able to remove the hypothesis
of interference in our house!
And again ... when I was talking with someone from Bell support, I told them I would like to try custom Rom if the issue is still there...
The person agree with me... yes weard from someone from bell...
Other than that ... it would be good for people to "catlog" the drop signal / no voice service...
Some one have a good tool that can track that specific issue ?
Thanks!

[Q] E980 loses signal when calling at home

My E980 has a real problem making calls in my house. I have great signal and can use data without any problem, but if I try to make a call I go from 4G LTE and 4-5 bars to nada. If I am lucky I will get one or two bars back before the call times out and actually get to connect; otherwise the call times out and if I try again it tells me I can only make emergency calls. I have to either reboot or go into airplane mode and back to get it to try again. No other phone on the same network (AT&T) has this issue, however, and my SIM works just fine in other phones (does not have this problem).
I am running stock 4.4.2, software version E98020h. I am rooted and have Xposed installed with the G2 Tweakbox.
I've done multiple searches and did not find anything that pertains to my issue.
If flashing is required I am not sure if that is possible as I cannot access my SD card (KitKat issue and no app has helped).
Or maybe not. Time to find a decent ROM then.

ATT ONE M8 LTE Voice calling issue

So recently flashed Viper One. Noticed drop in Battery life so I restored to just after I rooted.
Its back to stock ATT/Sense. Still rooted etc. But noticed that I am not receiving and am unable to make calls. Dial then immediately hangs up. (Called sisters phone, she gets missed call but is unable to answer) restored to factory and recovered multiple times. Cleared cache.
Unchecked Enhanced 4G LTE Services and I am able to make and receive calls as normal. DATA is still listing as LTE but I just dont get the HD voice calls. Is there something I am missing as to why this would not be working correctly?

Hey, were you able to resolve this issue? I'm having the same exact problem
Both phones need to support VoLTE to get any benefit. It was supposed to be that if one of the phones didn't support it, that it would fall back. Maybe ATT isn't quite ready.

H812 Keeps Losing Signal (Please Help)

Hello everyone, I've been lurking here all weekend as I've been trying to stabalize this phone I bought off of Kijiji. Right off the bat, when I
installed the sim I forgot to turn off the phone . Haha, I was extremely tired & only when I removed the battery (of course) did I realize what
had happened. Ever since the sim has been in, the signal has been unstable every 5-10-15 to 30 minutes (this is without running POGO). By
unstable, I mean both data & most importantly calls. I won't be able to make or receive, when I place the call during these failures it will
say dialing, connecting... and just continue until "call ended". And when I"m called, outside of LTE just say we've forwarded your call to VM. On
LTE, it will say something along the lines of this customer isn't able to receive your call at the moment.
Troubleshooting Attempts:
- Tried SIM in a different phone & it worked perfectly
- Power Cycled Several times, Factory reset it 3 times
- Set up 2 APN's (sorry can't link yet, but google them if u like they're ez to find. LG G4 VM Canada APN's)
- ^ Tried both, both unstable, but PDA gives most stability
- I've registered to all available networks under GSM/HSPA/LTE all unstable
- Connected Automatically & Manually to GSM/HSPA/LTE together & separately. All unstable
- Phone is not in Air Plane mode

Now, I have just recently come across a very interesting development. Using the App Network Signal Refresh Lite,
In pokemon go I've been able to transition to a signal that will stay solid for up to 5 minutes, 3 on average. It will still
lose connection, but will usually reconnect in-app in moments. I do have to minimize it & do a refresh again in NSRL
every now and then but it's a big improvement. Before hand, when I would use go, the service (calls included) would
completely rip in seconds.
So... any ideas? I'll appreciate any & all help.
I've flashed every stock rom I can for the device too, but the signal continues to drop regardless of the OS. Some error messages I' ve gotten are emergency calls only, no service & service disabled but usually it just shows that its connected to virgin but I can't make or receive calls.
Other than the cellular service, everything else with the phone works perfectly. The wifi, the camera, the gps, etc it would be a shame to have to get rid of it but the essentials first. I have to be able to make calls.
Please, anyone, any ideas? Are there any apps I can install to fix the broadband or something.
It won't remain stable no matter what I do... and no one has any solutions
tips, thoughts or ideas? Really regretting this purchase now... It's been a
month and I still cannot get a stable connection. This is ridiculous.

You may want to check out this link (https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-h812-firmwares/) for an H81220X Bell/Virgin kdz (H81220x_00_1122.kdz) and use LGUP-NEW to install it. It might help but if not, you may be facing a hardware issue ...
Solved lg g4 losing signal
I bought my lg g4 K450 and within days l noticed my phone was losing signal constantly. By the grace of God l tried this and it worked.
Go to settings---Then to Network---To more---To Mobile networks----To network operators. Select search network. All available networks will be displayed after a thorough scan. Select your network provider with a WCDMA instead of GSM and it will register it. After it done registering, restart the phone. and u are good to go. It worked for me, if it works for u give glory to God.
