What RUU did you try, exact file name?
Another option is to unlock the bootloader again, put custom recovery back on the phone, put a ROM on the phone, and flash it.
Stuck with no OS is a normal, intended result of relocking the bootloader.

this is my RUU

That is for the AT&T M8, which is not even dual SIM and different hardware
It would never run with s-on and wrong CID and MID. If it did run, it possibly (or even probably) would have bricked your phone.

Yes, the RUU has to be for your M8 version (match CID and MID), and same version number or later than is on the phone currently.
I don't know whether an RUU for your version exists or not. Look around this forum, someone may have posted it, even if its not available on the HTC website.
Or use the alternate method I stated previously.

There is no RUU for your version available .. and there is not much ROM that work on Dual SIM.
Unlock bootloader again, install TWRP then restore 4.30.401.16 nandroi backup.
You can get all the needed files in my thread linked in my signature

how can i unlock

You need to use the unlock_code.bin that you received from HTCDev.
Still remember how you unlocked the device for the first time ?
Put the device in fastboot mode then run the command fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Once the bootloader is unlocked, install TWRP recovery then do the restore process

what the next
now the device is work with CM13 How can i roll back to STOCK VERSION

no celluar
no celluar network in two sim card after start-up with cm13

Read what I wrote on post #5

If you read all the instructions and you don't skip step 5 you should see the folder structure in your storage.
So I guess you skipped step 5 ?

Then.. you should be able to locate where the backup location is ?
You should find something like this in your internal storage or microSD (depends on where you backup storage is)
TWRP/BACKUPS/YourDeviceSerialNo./BackupFolder(which is normally in date format_follow with ROM name)/boot.emmc.win
Then place the extracted backup (the content) in this folder (replace whatever files in there) so easier for you to find it in restore menu in TWRP

Now that you made a TWRP backup, TWRP would have created a folder that has your device's actual serial number as the folder name, not the literal word "SERIALNO."
It will be a string of seemingly random letters and numbers.
It will also be the only folder inside TWRP/BACKUPS/

my device back to live
thank you very much guys my device live again

Screwed Up Need Help URGENT

Hi. My phone has had issues with not being able to be mount backups on TWRP and have tried everything to fix the problem with no luck. I read somewhere on a post that the only way I can fix my problem is to relock my bootloader and flash a RUU which I'm in the process of doing now. This all started when I accidentally deleted my system files (which was stupid) in TWRP. Have I screwed up and will I be able to flash the RUU onto my phone.
NEVER do anything until you got the correct files. Who says there is a RUU ? we need info.....
Post the outcome of :
Fastboot getvar all (and del the IMEI & SERIAL)
Can you enter the bootloader and the recovery ?

Thanks for the quick response, it's really late right now but hopefully I can post those details tomorrow morn. I can enter bootloader/hboot which my computer recognizes. Though I have relocked the bootloader which I can easily unlock, it's status is relocked. My recovery (TWRP) was killing me though as every time I pushed a file through adb which was received the bloody program spat out an error every time about being unmountable to the system and cache. I know I shouldn't have rooted my device if I didn't know what I was doing and what did you mean about not having the correct files? I did have a cm11 stable backup but that wouldn't "mount to disk" either. From what I have heard I think this is a soft brick which would mean it is repairable? Or is it just a lost cause?
Also if this helps, I am s-on and wiped my dalvik, cache, data and accidents the system. I also have a 32 gb sd card installed on the device.
Cool. The easiest way is to unlock the bootloader, load a rom.zip (preferably) a sense 6 (close to stock rom like arhd or maximus) and perform a full wipe in the recovery and install the rom.zip via the recovery (external sd)
See if there are any errors in this process

Tried this, if I try to load a rom onto my m8 it will automatically fail. The rom is not able to be mounted to anything. I also tried flashing a boot.img to try to get it to startup but it also failed from the same reasons as flashing a sense base rom and cm11. Also before I cleared the system partition I had a gpe rom installed if that helps.
Was it a complete gpe or just a Rom? Also if Roms are failing to install get the sdcard from the phone and use a card reader...then put the zip on it and flash it..normally a boot.img fastboot should be flashed without problems
Read this thread carefully, it has info about not mounting issues !

There is an RUU for the AT&T Variant online. I used it to restore my M8 back to stock. There is a link here, you just got to look for it.

LOL People rely on having a ruu to much. Good luck in finding one for him. Since he is s-on it has to match his official main too because downgrading is not an option (with a ruu)
1 ruu for the AT&T....does it work on a Sprint device ? Does it work on a international carrier branded device ?

GOD YES!, i've somehow managed to get the bloody device to boot up but now its stuck in a bootloop. I think i opened up a custom rom extracted the boot.img file and flashed it to something (not sure what). Does this mean i have to manually replace each partition (data, cache, system ect.) with a part of a rom?
I would install a fresh rom via the sdcard.
And you "think" you opened a rom.zip and flashed a boot.img ? Seriously .....

Unfortunaly the problem still persists (log) ;
E: Can't mount /sdcard
E: Can't mount /data
E: Can't mount /cache
E: Can't mount /system
Installation aborted.
I really don't know how i've gotten to this point, should I just take my phone back to the manufacturer for repair?

No you need to PM the guy with the mkfs file and fix that first.
ok just pm'ed him, hope he can respond soon. As for the state of my phone, is it soft or hard bricked? I just can't tell the difference because other people in the same situation as me have given up.
Its soft......as long as you can reach the bootloader it could be fixed.

Asking for help with 6.0 OTA error with a rooted M8.

Hello,
I have a HTC one M8 from Orange(if that is something you'd like to know)
I rooted it a couple of months ago, being amazed by the number of new things you could do with a rooted phone. What I didn't take into account is that it doesn't let you recieve OTA updates. I replaced the stock recovery with TWRP and used superSU. Once I decided that I didn't want to remain with android 5.0.1,I pressed the "unroot" option in superSU's app. The thing is that I didn't know that it did not replace the TWRP with the stock recovery.
Yesterday,I recieved a notification from andriod, asking me to download the 6.0 update. I downloaded it,pressed install and the phone rebooted into TWRP. It didn't start the update, but It says in the TWRP "log" or whatever that E: failed to sysMapFile 'somethingsomething' and it failed to install the same file.
I checked bootloader and my phone is unlocked and with S-on
I am scared to do anything right now. I don't wanna brick my phone. I'm not sure if I want to replace the TWRP recovery not because of fear of losing the root, but because of fear of bricking the device completely. I also don't know about flashing the OTA update form my computer.
Any suggestions?I don't care if I lose the root,I just want my 6.0 update c:

More like for trying to run the OTA using TWRP and for not using search. I can't even count the number (here's +1) of posts that tell you that you need to be on stock recovery to flash the OTA.

Well, there are many ways to skin a cat; flashing official OTA using TWRP isn't one of them.
You need to have stock recovery to complete the OTA upgrade. AFAIK, your orange device (cid 032) is covered by stock WWE firmware (x.x.401.x). Your hboot 3.19 tells me you're running lollipop firmware.
So, without much ado:
1. Follow the link below to Mike's FW thread, then follow the instructions to download and flash lollipop firmware 4.16.401.10
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282
2. Check for software updates, and OTA yourself up to Marshmallow.
Cheers

within any stock firmware.zip is an Android-info.txt file that has a list of eligible phone-variants that are allowed to flash the firmware. In your case, the modelid: 0P6B10000 (international M8) and cidnum: HTC__032 (Orange telecom operator) indicate your device is eligible to flash this 401 firmware. Alas, recent stock firmware files are encrypted by HTC to ensure that you don't mess up your device by modifying the Android-info.txt (which is what we used to do earlier on, rather than change the phone's modelid and CID).
____________________
Strangely enough, I gave you a link to a firmware-only thread with a direct download link to a firmware-only repository, so I don't know how you ended up asking me about 1.4gb RUU!
Never mind, just go to the link below, download the 50.2mb file and flash it (its your stock firmware):
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952612412
The way forward:
A. If you're S-ON: Relock your bootloader.
B. If you're either S-OFF or have a RE/locked bootloader:
1. Rename the file you downloaded to 0P6BIMG.zip (Note: 1st character is a zero, and careful not to rename the file to 0P6BIMG.zip.zip).
2. Copy & paste the 0P6BIMG.zip to the root of your SD CARD, the reboot to bootloader. Follow the instructions in red to flash it.
3. Boot into Android and rename the 0P6BIMG.zip file into something else, otherwise your bootloader will attempt to flash it everytime you boot into it.
4. Check for software updates and OTA to Marshmallow.
Cheers

Flashing firmware alone won't fix your problem as you posted on post #1, your current ROM is rooted. OTA won't work on a rooted ROM, it needs a non-rooted stock ROM
You have two choice here :
Option 1 :
Since you already relocked the bootloader and don't have a microSD - read and follow this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
Option 2 :
Re unlock your bootloader with your previous unlock_code.bin that you got from HTCDev
Restore a non-rooted 4.16.401.13 stock backup and install 4.16.401.13 stock recovery, don't root, check and install OTA 6.12.401.4

Allright,I'm downloading the RUU now.Thank you very much for this.Next time i'll be more careful when trying new stuff with my phone to not do something I don't wanna
Foremost, you can simply go into your SU or SuperSU app and choose to uninstall root from the settings; simple and convenient.
Secondly, if your willing to lose your data by flashing the RUU (yes, it'll delete your data and format your internal memory) why not flash the Marshmallow RUU? Its the silver bullet, but you will lose your data!

When you uninstalled SuperSu in the app settings .. you still will fail to have the OTA working .. because when you rooted your device, you made a lot of changes to system files like flashing custom kernel which changed the modules, you may installed xposed and more files were changed, you may already removed a lot of so called bloatware. (as what I can see on your post #1)
When you relocked bootloader and later reunlock again to root .. you'll lose data anyway ... if you read carefully .. it is always advised to make backup of your internal storage files like photos, music & etc before you proceed with RUU, relock and unlocking ...
So .. how is the RUU goes for you ? When you successful install the RUU .. you get the Marshmallow ROM 6.12.401.4 because the one that you install is indeed a Marshmallow RUU not the old version 4.16.401.10

I have a small problem.Maybe because I relocked the bootloader I can't get into recovery to see where the backup goes anymore.Do I need to re-unlock?This was from your 2nd link you posted for a guide
When you chose the RUU method, you don't need the backup anymore.
Backup is for option 2 only and for option 2 you need unlocked bootloader.
Read again option 1 - it's a simple process .. follow all the instructions there

Okay so I downloaded the 2 files,re-named the zip RUU but when I open cmd and type a command it says it isn't recognized as external or internal command.and when i try with "htc_fastboot *rest of command*" it says "adbwinapi.dll" is missing. Will it work if I paste these files in the other fastboot folder that I have?
That means you don't have fastboot/adb or you don't put those files in your fastboot folder.
You need Windows PC with usb2.0
What you need is fastboot/adb, install this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
and HTC USB drivers - Install HTC Sync Manager - http://www.htc.com/us/support/software/htc-sync-manager.aspx
it will install the needed drivers then uninstall the HTC Sync Manager but leave the drivers.
If you install the above fastboot/adb, you can open command prompt at any folder, not necessarily to put those RUU zip and htc_fastboot.exe in fastboot folder. Any folder will do.

[Help] I need suport for update to Mashmallow!

Hello everybody.
I just received my HTC One M8 and I'm happy with the purchase. The device is amazing. The same came with root access and obviously without the update OTA option. I've read a little about this device, it is the CID 1111111 (do not know how many '1' are xD ) and I think it is S-OFF . I want to install android 6.0 mill for being the most recent, but I accept suggestions from other ROMs too. I waiting for your help . Grateful.
Sorry for use Google Translator lol
PS: I have a Sprint device and that's my "getvar all" command.

Okay..............
I'm, not sure why. Both will do the exact same thing, it's just the method of flashing that is different.
.exe is like downloading software for your PC. You run the .exe and the install wizard takes care of the rest.
If you use the .zip, you can either fastboot flash it, or use the SDcard method to flash

Yes.
Plug your phone into your PC, double click the download, and follow the prompts.
But if you are S-On, you will need to relock your bootloader first. In fastboot: fastboot oem lock then run the RUU
EDIT: I should also say just in case you don't know, running the RUU will wipe your device, so be sure to backup anything that is important to you first

No need to worry about stock recovery. As long as you installed 6.x firmware, reboot to bootloader then install RUU

Great :good:
If you ever want to install a custom ROM, make sure you install custom ROM with Sprint support.
Never flash a GSM firmware on it as it will brick the radio and may brick the device too due to different partition layout.

I think I'll install a custom ROM... The memory option shows just a little more tham 500 Mb free, that's normal? If yes, what can do to free up more memory or what's the best custom ROM, in your opinion, or course. Including baterry life x performance on your answer.

And also I run only my own made custom ROM.

THANKS ckpv5 I WILL GIVE YOU WHOLE INFO. ABOUT MY PROBLEM
As i changed my MID and flashed wrong zip of HTC europe rom on HTC SPRINT which drained everything including my custom TWRP. I was totally new to HTC totally messed up everything. its been more than five days my phone had stuck at hboot screen i know you guy are genius can save my hundard of BUCKs as its new phone bought 15 days ago it was rooted.
I WAS TRYING TO INSTALL SPRINT FIRMWARE TOO BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY FLASHED THAT FIRMWARE ACCORDING TO EUROPE ROM. NOW THE PROBLEM IS THAT I AM UNABLE TO FLASH FIRMWARE DUE TO CHANGED MID (talked earlier) CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT TO DO.
Do you still have TWRP installed ?
If no, install one
If yes,
Boot to TWRP recovery, select mount - system
open command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder then run command
adb shell
then this code
Code:
echo -ne '\x30\x00\x50\x00\x36\x00\x42\x00\x37\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=1 seek=16384
Make sure you copy the code, not write it yourself
then exit
then select reboot - bootloader
then run
fastboot getvar mid
you should see your mid now read 0P6B70000
(you don't need "su" command)
Now you can install Sprint RUU - http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8-sprint/news/
or check those in Sprint section that I linked above
Note : You will get your device running again but you maybe lost the 3G/4G and only can get 2G. Reason is you flashed wrong radio meant for GSM on your CDMA, this usually brick the radio. If you're lucky enough, this is not happening.

EVEN UNABLE TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER NOW
You can't fastboot flash recovery while the bootloader is locked/relocked.
You need a microSD.
Download the 0P6BIMG.zip that I posted here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67526388&postcount=387
No need to worry what OS it is written for now, it will get fixed when you install RUU.
Place the 0P6BIMG.zip on root of microSD (means not in any folder)
Then put your phone on hboot, it will scan the file. Volume up to update (install). Once done, it will ask you to reboot but you know that your device is bootlooping, just put the device on bootloader (remove the microSD to delete the 0P6BIMG.zip)
Now you can boot to TWRP recovery and do the rest as described above.

Moreover, i made mistake that i also had flashed firmware file according to htc europe rom. Now which one should choose.
Doesn't matter about the firmware now .. just install RUU.
That was the guide written above.
1. Change MID
2. Install RUU exe that is linked above.
Make sure you have windows PC with usb2.0 and the latest htc usb drivers are installed.
HTC USB drivers - Install HTC Sync Manager - http://www.htc.com/us/support/software/htc-sync-manager.aspx
- it will install the needed drivers then uninstall the HTC Sync Manager but leave the drivers.
Or you can use RUU zip
0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_6.20.651.3_RUU.zip that you can get in Sprint thread.
Rename it to 0P6BIMG.zip and install the same way as you installed TWRP above (microSD method)

There is another problem occured i flashed signed firmware now phone only shows the HTC logo and unable to restart what should do now???
Was the firmware installation successful ? This is important.
When you reboot, there is no OS, you need to put back to bootloader then install RUU.
(Same way after you installed TWRP before)
I think this is easier.. instead of going to Marsmallow, install the lollipop first just to get your phone up & running.
Install this 0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_4.25.651.18_RUU.zip, for this you don't need to install firmware.
Once successful, then you can try again to install Marshmallow 0P6BIMG_Sprint_HTC_One_M8_6.20.651.3_RUU.zip but
you need to install 6.20.651.3 Firmware first.

Hotspot is locked out on most US carrier versions. If you don't see Hotspot as an available "tile" in the notification quick settings, and no Hotspot widget, than the feature has been disabled on your stock ROM.
Easiest way to enable Hotspot is with the proper custom ROM (supports Sprint version M8).

Your post is really unclear, making it impossible to help without further info.
Did you have the issue of no SIM before, causing you to try to fix it? Or were you playing around with ROMs, and broke the baseband/SIM? In other words, what was the exact sequence of events that led to the current condition.
Do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
Also, is the bootloader locked, unlocked or relocked?
Do you have TWRP installed? If so, what version number?

If you can boot ROM as no.1 and no baseband & imei, try install 6.15.720.2 firmware only to see whether it can fix your problem

That is a RUU not flashable rom zip, you can't install RUU in twrp.
You installed GPE ROM in twrp ? So I guess you didn't install GPE RUU.
Try any other Sense ROM like ICE, if can boot but no baseband & imei, install firmware as I said above.
Another thing.. your bootloader is white and not black, right ?

yes bootloader is white , i tried the RUU method but it's stuck to, i had some errors. and i must phone must be relocked , i lost S-off when i did it.
i tried to get a backup like u say in ur post but not working
please can u help, what's the rom i may install can u give me all tutoriel
I never say any backup to try, only the firmware.
No need to relock bootloader to install RUU and no need to change to S-On (same for installing firmware too)
Install again GPE rom as you said you can install and working but no baseband
Then after install firmware, fw_6.15.720.2.zip only
then tell if baseband is fixed or not.

What format is the RUU, is it zip or exe?
If it got stuck, what was the specific error message? Only telling us it "had some errors" is not useful. I shouldn't have to be telling you this again. Provide as much detail as possible, if you expect us to help.
You don't need to relock the bootloader to RUU when you have s-off.
Relocking the bootloader does not make the device s-on. Never seen it. It just makes the bootloader RELOCKED, which restricts a lot of other things (can't flash TWRP, etc.).

Firmware and recovery nor two different things. I'm skeptical if you flashed the right thing, or did it properly.
Did you get the file, and follow the instructions exactly as listed in the link that ckpv5 gave your for the firmware?
Did you flash it twice, as the instructions say?
Do fastboot getvar all, again, and post (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).

It's not easy to help you when you don't understand the suggestion.
I never say 6.15.720.2_recovery.img, no such file in the link that I gave you. Please read again the filename is fw.15.720.2.zip and you need to install it using fastboot method or ext_sd method.

Are you sure? I can't find error code 179.
Maybe you mean Error 170, which is USB connection error. Which often just means you need to put the phone in fastboot mode. Or try another USB cable, another USB port on the PC, or re-install the HTC drivers.

Any of the ROMs from the M8 development section should work. You will need to unlock the bootloader again, and flash TWRP to the device again (suggest current TWRP version 3.1.1-0). This is due to the fact that firmware over-wrote TWRP with stock recovery.
Most of the "ROMs" you were trying to flash before were RUUs, not TWRP-flashable ROMs. So hopefully, you won't have any issue flashing ROMs now.

I don't personally do "best ROM" recommendations for 2 main reasons:
1) There is no such thing as a "best ROM" for everyone. Each user has drastically different preferences and usage patterns. What is "best" for me, may not even be any good for you. You need to decide for yourself what is "best". If you want some ROM suggestions, there are plenty (IMO, too many) of existing threads with such discussions.
2) The notion of a "best ROM(s)" is insulting to the developers, most of whom do all this work for no compensation. If everyone kept recommending the "best" ROM(s), what point would there ever be for devs to introduce new ROMs or ideas? The variety/choice in ROMs is a good thing. Don't rob yourself of the potential "hidden gems" by being a sheep and doing what everyone else does, or just doing what a stranger tells you is "best".
You won't do anything to the phone by flashing ROMs, that isn't recoverable. We all occasionally run into bad ROM flashes, no boot situations, and other bugs. It's just part of the game. If you flash ROMs, root, or otherwise mod these phones; you have to live with the fact that sometimes things go wrong, and you have to know how to recover from those things.
If you stick with the M8 development section, and look for Sense ROMs, you will find what you seek. Don't flash any RUUs or firmware, unless you know what you are doing.
