Hey everyone,
Before I begin, my device is rooted and has bootloader unlocked. I have an issue when I try to flash a ROM, I first tried to install Resurrection remix (6.0.1r3) by twrp (temporary by computer) . I factory reset and and flashed it, along with gapps (6.0). When completed, I rebooted and the device went to a screen that said "installing update" and then to a dead android bot with a red exclamation, which I assume is a problem with the recovery mode though Im not too sure. So I restored my backup, factory reset and tried SuperZen ROM and I got the same result- an android bot with a red triangle. When I restore my backup and reboot the system it loads fine, although if Im in bootloader and go to recovery mode, it takes me to the dead bot, where I press the power button and the volume Up key to get past it. So my question is, how do I fix the dead android bot with the red triangle when I install a new ROM?

I'm sorry I accidently had posted this question in the development forum. Mods please delete that thread.
Guys I need your help. I had 4.0.4 and then I unlocked and rooted my phone to get Jelly Bean (installed V1) following the walkthrough (the day it was released). Tonight I wanted to get to V3 so I made my backups (note not nandroid, just on Titanium & Go Backup) and tried to boot into Recovery Mode. Did the whole vol & power thing and got to the Fastboot mode. Selected Recovery Mode from the menu and was hoping to get to the screen where I can wipe and do the nandroid backup and all. But it shows the Google lock screen (unlocked icon) and then shows the android guy on its back, chest open and a red triangle. I remember having this a while ago when I was unlocking the phone and flashing JB on it but it was no problem. This time it just stays on this red triangle for a while and then the phone reboots (no menu for wipe, backup etc) but the kicker is that it stays stuck on the nexus jelly bean (the "x") animation forever and does not move from there. I've tried to wait it out for over 15 minutes and nothing. I can't even go back to stock on this as I'm using Wugs toolkit and the phone is not recognized in the list devices (I have Win8). I need to get this working as soon as possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Did you try ODIN back? I had this problem, but instead of the red triangle, I had the EXCLAMATION mark between a PC and phone icon. Somewhere along the line I messed up with the files and soft-bricked my phone. ODIN would be your last bet, but for me, nothing worked.
Got a replacement next day (covered by warranty)... Good luck, dude...
I met the same problem when I flash JB (JRN84D ROM) from 4.0.4. When I saw "red triangle", I just kept pressing power and press volume up and then it brought me to recovery page. However, be careful, after I did data wipe, I lost all of kernels, rom, cwm recovery...in my phone. it was my first time to flash a phone so I must have done something wrong so now I have 4.1 but re-locked and don't know how to root it again and get CWM back. But at least, you can try power and volume up when you see "red triangle" to enter recovery mode.
sueshake,
thanks for that handy tip with the power and vol up combo. At least now I have some access to phone...thanks
will keep u updated on the progress
You are welcome. Be careful if you want to do superwipe. I guess I almost bricked my phone by doing that. Fortunately, I did flash 4.1 stock rom successfully before wiping data, though I am not sure how I made it from 4.0.4.
So here is a little back history.
I just recently purchased a GNexus from Sprint
Unlocking Bootloader and flashing Twrp went Great.
Backing up original stock rom went great!
My First Issue
My problem started when I flashed a JB rom. I notice that the phone was taking extremely long to boat up. Stuck at JB Boot Screen for about 45mins. I immediately thought that okay. .maybe im missing some type of requirement or twrp needs to be updated. So I battery pulled my phone.Attempted to go back into recovery and restore my old stock backup. WIth that being said i found that TWRP is corrupted. I did another battery pull and tried once more (same results)
I did another battery pull and booted to the bootloader when I selected recovery this time a screen popped up that allowed you to a factory reset (It was not the original TWRP Screen) My idiotic mistake was that I choose yes which then deleted my nand backup. As you now see I have a nexus that does not have a rom installed
I have been able to successfully adb push twrp back to my phone and TWRP comes up when I boot into recovery.
Here comes my second issue.
When I adb push a rom to the sdcard it transfer fine. I have been told to reboot recovery when you adb push a file to it. Therefore I reboot the phone and boot back into recovery to find out that the rom is gone. I have even tried to just directly flash the rom when I transfer the rom to the phone via adb push. TWRP states that the rom installed successfully so i reboot and the phone is still at a softbrick stage where I just have the google logo and the unlock bootloader at the bottom. When I boot back into recovery the rom.zip is no where to be found.
I have tried recovering by using ODIN and successfully followed each step for the GNEXUS CDMA\LTE version. Once again upon reboot I still receive the google bootloop of death.
Can anyone help me get my phone back to normal I will truly appreciate. I don't believe I truly bricked my phone because of that fact that I can still boot into bootloader, recovery and ODIN mode.

Once again any help is truly appreciated. I only had this phone for one day.. lol only made 2 calls on it before I screwed it up  (On stock rom)
After you ODIN stock it will bootloop. You don't have a custom recovery anymore, but if you remove the battery and then do "powers and both volume keys and select recovery" In recovery you will see a android with a red X. Press "power and both volume keys again" This time you have android system recovery that's in blue. Choose "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" . Then "reboot system now" after all that's done. You phone will boot up to factory in 3-5 min.
Reread everything you said... First thing first get back on stock. I used Odin method. Then follow steps above as it will bootloop.

ok, i will try this.
Thanks
After trying what you stated above i was able to successfully return to stock.
Thanks again for your help.. It's funny how something so small can lead to hours of debugging and searching for the answers.
Hey look on the bright side....you won't make the same mistake again!
I made the mistake of flashing the Touch CWM last week and accidentally wiped my SD instead of System as I was trying to flash a new rom with a full wipe....I wasn't impressed!
So now I'm back to the non touch screen recovery which I'm used to and harder to make a mistake on.

Hello All,
My Device is SGH-M919...Rooted and was running Cyanogenmod 13.
Last week something went wrong (no idea what happened, but phone went black screen and when rebooted it just stays in boot loop)...Tried to went to recovery to clear cache and format so that i can start over, but it never boots into recovery....So, i re flashed TWRP (which i had earlier), but no joy...
So i decided, to flash the stock ROM and start all over again (not worried of backup as i have daily backup of my calls, sms, pics, videos etc)...
Tried flashing stock via ODIN, it shows succesful, but it still is in boot loop...it just shows the Samsung logo and restarts.....Tried to went to Recovery, but its not booting into Recovery, But am able to goto the Download mode and ODIN recognizes my device...
What am i doing wrong or what am i missing in the whole process of recovering my phone...
Any help is much appreciated.....
Note: I already moved to Moto X Pure, but still miss my S4....
Did you boot to stock recovery and perform a factory wipe before booting the stock rom for the first time?
Hello Everybody,
I had a working Zenfone 2, flashed with LineageOS. I decided to factory reset my phone via the Settings app, as I was intending to pass it off to someone, but instead of taking me to the setup screen, I was brought to TWRP recovery. At this point, when I rebooted to system, it would take me to TWRP again and again. I then decided to wipe everything (dalvik, data, cache, internal storage, etc., except MicroSD, as I was intending to reflash and had the latest LineageOS nightly, GApps, addonSU, and latest TWRP for the Zenfone2).
Within TWRP, I went to install and chose the latest TWRP image to flash to recovery. I then rebooted and it went straight to my bootloader (Fastboot mode). I would show a picture but I am a new user so I cannot. It is the screen with the android laying down with its stomach open. At the top, I can choose between "Normal Boot", "Recovery", "Restart Bootloader", and "Power Off". At the bottom, it says "Fastboot mode", followed by a bunch of information about my device, followed by "Continue the fastboot process?" in green text.
At this point, I can't even get back to the recovery, after using the volume buttons to select to boot into Recovery. It will always bring me back here. Using Fastboot on my computer, I flashed TWRP recovery again, but when the phone reboots, it goes back to the bootloader again, even when I select reboot to Recovery. Since then, I've tried running the Unlock Marshmallow Bootloader file, and my phone said Unlock failed, and I was brought back to the bootloader screen (Except this time, the text at the bottom "continue the fastboot process?" is in blue instead of green). I tried running the Unlock Lollipop bootloader files, and the same thing, my phone said unlock failed, and that is where I stopped because I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and fear I am just making things worse.
Can anyone help me get my phone functioning again? At this point, I don't care if I have LineageOS on it, or just plain Stock firmware from ASUS. I just want my phone to work again.
Thank you very much in advance.
My telephone keeps booting to fastboot after trying to update TWRP.
I am trying to restore the original ROM (apollo_eea_global_images_V12.5.12.0.RJDEUXM_20220208.0000.00_11.0_eea) and I can get the rom installed through fastboot but the phone enters a boot loop cycle. It starts up, vibrates shortly then reboots.
If i press volume up it goes into the original recovery menu. I have tried clearing everything and even entering safe mode but the phone will not boot.
Am i screwed?
Thanks in advance.
I installed the Pixel Experience recovery and side-loaded the zip and at least have a working OS.
I must be doing something wrong with the stock mi10t
Now i sided the miui zip and its working agian. I think i have misunderstood the procedure. I thought you only need to install the rom with flashboot and that was it.
