thanks . that worked.
I just got my phone back from LG, but they have pre-installed the new OTA update from February, so I can't root it anymore. Is there a way for me to root it? Maybe, if, you know, I followed the the last steps of the unbricking guide where I have to flash the original ATT images?

You need to follow the entire unbricking guide. The last steps require root, and the steps leading up to that are what allow you to get root in the first place.
Although it will bring you to the original AT&T ROM, keep in mind you will be rooted even after flashing them and there really isn't a clean way to get back to a fully unrooted ROM.

If you are going straight to CM9 or another flashed ROM, then you can skip the last steps and just install CWM from the Korean ROM. Although you may still want to flash the baseband/firmware images.

Should've read this earlier.....followed the whole unbricking process. Oh well, I'm on the CWM Flashable ICS leak now.
I have uploaded rom lt18i_4.1.B.0.587. I tried to do everything according to all the instructions which I read on the forum, but nothing helps. Always when I Upload this rom automatically locks the root and I do not have it.
have already installed the rom lt18i 4.1.B.0.431 downgrade to this rom (LT18i) _4.0.2.A.0.42_CE and always like to come back to the topic I do not have root.
can someone write me step by step how do I do this root, including the correct files. I started bugging me. can even be on priv.

Terribly sorry if this has been asked before or if the info is in another thread already. I wasn't able to find it and threads about this update state no questions should be asked regarding my problem.
The January update was flashable without whiping the device. I was wondering if this same process can be followed regarding the february update.
Does anyone know? Thanks.
I would be surprised if it wouldn't work this time.
Just manually flash the mentioned images using fastboot.
Optional:
Reroot the device, flash kernel and or flash additional xposed and modules if applicable.
Recommended:
Clear dalvik/cache and reboot.
First boot will take a little longer but after that it will boot with everything still installed.
Just in case make a nandroid backup first.
This is what I was actually coming here to ask. Thanks.

It's also described in Heisenberg's guide:

It's kept updated with the latest developments so you might give it a read.

You need to root before you install TWRP. Be sure to root with CF-Auto-Root. After that, you can find TWRP for your device here: https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/
Thank you very much. Now do I root through oden or by memery card?

To flash with CF-Autoroot, you flash it with Odin. You can find detailed instructions on how to root here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672393
You can skip the first step and just follow the steps on how to flash with CF-Autoroot and how to flash TWRP
Follow instructions carefully
Good luck!
Root is not required to flash TWRP. You can flash TWRP from Odin and then flash supersu from TWRP to root the phone.
Rooting with cfautoroot will not install a custom recovery.

Be sure to have downloaded the correct cf-autoroot for N900T. Should be named something like this: "CF-Auto-Root-hltetmo-hltetmo-smn900t"
Thank you for the help you have been giving me. I was able to root my phone once I got the correct file. I have also installed twrp . Now I just need to find a good ROM to mess around with.

Glad to help. There are pretty good ROMs out there. I would suggest getting a Note7 port, since not only you get a newer version of Android, you get the very specific Note features which are awesome! Happy flashing!
