Dead sd card after rooting 20A - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated my bootloader unlocked g4 to MM using lg brigde, and then installed TWRP. I then proceded to root by installing a rooted kernel called STOCK-20A-rooted. Worked fine, but my sd card is now not working. is there a fix for this?

You most likely have installed the wrong kernel. There are two different versions of the 20A stock rom. Search for systemless root, that should work with both versions. You need reflash stock kernel. After I had the same issue, I downloaded flashable zips (by @autoprime) and followed his instructions on how to flash, after this I installed systemless root.

[Q] How to root LG SU 640 V20F?

Hi,
How to root LG SU 640 with V20F firmware. My phone was on V20D rooted, then updated to V20F with LG PC software and lost root. Procedures for older versions seem to be not working with this. Is there any way to root? Need root to 1. uninstall annoying Korean SKT apps, 2. install custom ROM.
Thank you.

Revert to GB rom, root, flash custom recovery, flash custom rom.

Thanks, If I want to stick with stock for a while then? And flashing ROM is a tedious process, I would keep it as last option. Noway to root V20F?
you can root it, you cant put custom recovery.
best bet is to get back to GB root, custom recovery, put custom Stock ics rom if thats what you want.
Edit: i have rooted it but dont remember if that was 20D or 20F, but i did get root and able to delete system files. but get soft brick every time i tried to flash recovery. but after the new wind kernels i forgot about ICS and stock ROM's.

[SOLVED] Lost root, can't get it back

So I appear to have lost root after futzing around with a new kernel (xceed). I have not been able to figure out how to re-root, however. I'm on the latest 4.4.3 OTA and am S-OFF via javacard (and have verified that i'm still unlocked).
Here's what I've tried so far
Flashed two different kernels in TWRP (EliteLunar and Kangaroo)
Flashed several variants of SuperSU and Superuser zips
What else is there to try? Should I go back to CWM and flash SuperSU/Superuser from there? Am so lost

you should have made a nandroid when you first rooted.
if so wipe and restore it.
if not.. flash a stock-like ROM

many to choose from, including mine.
Would reflashing a custom ROM do the trick? Such a strange occurrence, haven't had any issue with root in the 1.5yrs I've had the One
EDIT: flashed BoneStock and root is back

10R root: Downgrade or update to LP

I have a G3 in white running 10r. To get root should I do the downgrade method or do any existing root tools manage to get root on Lolipop? LP is 20b baseband, correct?
EDIT: I just used LG Root Script v1.2 and it worked perfectly. Got root, installed Flashify from the app store and used that to install TWRP 2.8.6.0. Literally the easiest root -- installing recovery on any device ive ever owned

[LG G3] How do I update to Marshmellow with a Rooted Device?

Actually... I'm not unrooted. I unrooted via Superuser SU, but I then remembered that I had TWRP and Xposed Frameworks still installed.
What steps do I have to take in order to update to Marshmellow from here? I've tried to search through many threads, but since I still have TWRP + Xposed Frameworks while unrooted, I think I may be a special case.
You can always flash proper kdz via LG Flash Tool or LGUP

Is it possible to install TWRP on D850 stock Marshmallow?

Hi, I am trying to flash TWRP on my AT&T stock D850. I have a temporary root using Kingroot, and then I tried flashing TWRP from Flashify, but when I try to enter recovery it says SIG_LEN_MISMATCH: boot verification failed. Normal booting works fine.
A lot of the methods that involve 'bumping' the TWRP img etc., seem to be geared towards Lollipop. Has anyone been able to successfully install a custom recovery while on stock MM and using Kingroot root?
