Question about MCU - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

My MTCB unit replaced an AN21U clone.
It is my understanding that, at a high level, these are pretty much similar units, i.e. the MCU handling the radio, audio and basic functions like SWC and rear camera command while the main processor handles the OS, apps and UI, including apps to config the MCU functionality.
At startup, my AN21U radio was up within a couple of seconds and I was able to change the volume way before the Android UI was up.
On the MTCB unit the radio does not start until the OS is fully loaded and the radio app is launched. This is kinda unexpected and pretty annoying.
My MCU is KLD2, v.2.77. Is there another MCU version that works better? Or is there a way to have the radio start immediately after boot?

Disabled Canbus app to avoid issue? Potential problems?

Hi
I've purchased a PX5 MTCD based Dasaita 10.2" unit for my Peugeot 208 2016 to get Android auto.
Quite pleased with the design and features overall but had a show stopper when I realised that even if I set the unit to mph in the control settings app the car would flip back over to kph on my speedometer when it started up. This was even though the setting stayed as mph in the control settings app. Indeed I'd have to flip back to khp then back again to mph to rectify.
I tried first of all upgrading to the latest version of my DCU software (2.99MTCE) and updated and tried different ROM's to no avail.
Anyway. I've found a sort of workaround I think which is to disable the canbus app in Android settings. This has stopped the speedo from updating and the steering wheel controls still work. Have I broken anything else though? Does anyone know what force stopping this app does?
Thanks
Dasaita provided me with the fix today. If you PM me, I will send you the file and instructions. Note that you do the update at your own risk.
Fix= new firmware? Android or MCU?
Fix is an update for the canbus. It's not an android firmware nor MCU update.
Hi @jamesbruton, how/where do I turn off the Canbus app?

Subwoofer control after upgrading MCU.

Hello,
My headunit had MCU GS 2.78 what was giving me a bug, somethimes when starting the unit fm radio started at load noise and I had to restart.
After updating the MCU the bug was gone but I noticed that I had no control of the subwoofer, looks like it is controled by other bass controls but sliding sub control does nothing.
Downgrading back to MCU GS 2.78 give me back sub control.
I tried diverent MCU and now i,m on MCU GS 3.07.
Anybody knows why the sub control is not working above 2.78???
Or do I need special MCU because of build in DSP?

Hello Diablo-2u,
GS 2.84.1 will fix your issues and retain the sub woofer controls. I had the same issues with my unit in the beginning.
Cheers
Hello, I cannot control my subwoofer level in the equalizer app. I have a mtce lm v3.43 unit with integrated dedicated DSP (ADAU1401).
I already upgraded to hal9k V4 with the new DSP EQ app but even there I don't have the possibility to control or even mute my subwoofer channel.
Any experiences on that?
Thanks guys

I have Isudar H53 it also has built in DSP. Only the filter can be adjusted on the sub out. The SubgainL and SubgainR not works, the output signal smaller than the 4chs. The output voltage and volume value is strange.
volume 0 > sub output 0V
volume 1 > sub output 300mV
increased the volume to 17 the sub output is till 300mV
Volume over 18 the sub out voltage begin to increase.

PX3 problem after replacing the fm module TEF6686

Hey.
I recently broke down the radio module fm XD-6686AF-0 (on the XD-6851AF-0 board) - the radio did not work, did not search for the station, there was silence in general. I could not buy the same module anywhere. I found only one on aliexpress - TEF6686HN / F8602. So I replaced the previous one with a new one and the sound appeared on the radio, searches for the stations, but it can not find any, just noise.
I have px3 radio android 7.1.2. I have updated the whole device for mallaysk 5.0 (or 5.1) and newest mcu 3.01. The FM radio is still not working properly - still noise. I have MTCD XRC MCU, and on KLD mcu radio is fine working, but it beeping every 10 sec. :/
Is there a chance to adapt this new TEF6686HN / F8602 FM module to make it work properly on my radio?
Do you have any idea?
Thank you very much for help.

PX5 MTCE Hizpo 4Gb RAM 32GB ROM radio app error

Hello every one.
I have a problem with my HU its a HIPZO MTCE octa core android 8.0.0.
The problem is that the radio application does not always work. Sometimes it works normally but most of the time the application starts but no sound is heard or tuned to FM or AM stations.
When it is working incorrectly it will not be corrected even if I turn off and then turn on the device or engine of the car. The next day it may work and it may not, 1 to 10 work OK.
When it is working properly, there is no malfunction until I switch off the head unit or the car.
Can anyone help please?

Sorry to bump your thread, however have you found a way to do this yet? I have a PX6 Android 11 radio and want to do the same thing. Thanks!
The accessory power wire should allow the radio to work when the ignition key is in the accessory position. This is usually one stop before the normal run position but can be on the opposite side of the keys off position. If you did not wire the radio to include the accessory wire you need to rewire. If this does not work for some reason You could also use an always on 12 volt circuit and add an on off switch to allow you to use or turn off the radio at any time.
I have electric car, I have a large battery capacity in the car, additionally I controls the discharge of the battery.

Interesting. I've never really done any development with hardware directly beyond using a raspberry pi however I'm always willing to learn something new! Any good areas to start? Is this on a per-device basis or are these MCUs standard across all rockchip models? I have very little understanding of how it all works together you see...
From my initial understanding I thought the canbox controlled all of this. I do have all hardware needed to think to flash software if required. Otherwise the head unit is literally useless to me.
@rafal_olb I'd be happy to help work with you on this, I'm trying to do the same thing!
I'm software developer, but I'm not android developer and I have a one big problem, the problem is free time. I think that MCU sent signal do software, and then android going sleep. I thing that I need use rooted PX5 software and in this software I need to find function/method which put android sleep. Do you have free time to buy/search px5 rooted software and find this method in all android system files?
