Just When You Thought Your Favourite Dev Is Out Of Ideas... He Comes Up With This
ok so alot are complaining how we can't flash kernel away from the pc among other things (which ill get to later ), (mostly @One-X-master)
so i looked for a way to get around this and found Kexec as the answer.
Wiki said:
In computing, kexec (kernel execution) is a mechanism of the Linux kernel that allows "live" booting of a new kernel "over" the currently running kernel. kexec skips the bootloader stage (hardware initialization phase by the firmware or BIOS) and directly loads the new kernel into memory, where it starts executing immediately. This avoids the long times associated with a full reboot, and can help systems to meet high-availability requirements by minimizing downtime.

however, with that comes managing online hardware which is somewhat problematic,
thus that prompted few people to come up with an ingenious solution called Kexec-hardboot.
Kexec-hardboot:This works by loading the kernel into memory and force restarting the phone with new kernel.
All of that with some ramdisk tweak allowed me to set a kernel at boot and restart to it,
avoiding having to flash it in the 1st place
Updating the kernel is called flashing..
A Flash is also what precedes Thunder
its also refered to as Lightning, Thus I came up with the name Kernel Lighter
Lighter= To Set Things On Fire/To Ignite (The Kernel)
Thus this is a kernel igniter
I Know, i've got to much time on my hand.
If you have a smart name, please do suggest.
Special Thanks: @Tasssadar: For His N7 Port, which made this port a breeze and for his help in debugging.
@Alex-V: Currently using his kernel as Base Kexec Kernel.

Something Went Wrong:
Let say the phone wouldnt boot during kernel update after using the app,
the best solution would be to go back to stock kernel, look at the recovery flashable zips in Extras section,
If none seem to fit, try another custom kernel
if you still had no luck booting, you should try flashing that kernel through fastboot and see if it makes any difference.
Warning!!
Note: All the zips provided are flashable through both The App & Recovery... but I recommend recovery
BUT DON'T FLASH THE KEXEC (KL.Zeus.img) KERNEL THROUGH THE APP or Recovery,
as it will continuously boot itself over and over and over again.

this works on both sense 5 and 4+
i had this running for almost a week now on sense 4+
and just moved to sense 5 and thought it will be a good time to release this.
The Stock kernel comes from sense 5 ROM
I know, but back to 4.1.1 is not a solution for me (Sense 5 is the dealbreaker with AOSP ROMs )
Another Question, if i change to AOSP, it will work too? or must we flash (an not realeased) Kexec AOSP kernel? (i ask not for me, i ask for everyone on AOSP with ORD xD )

you dont have to go back to 4.1.1, this will work with sense 5 rom
if you want to use AOSP you must follow the custom kernel guide.
Ahh, (my english is bad..) i think we misunderstand each other, i asked for an Sense 5 kernel.zip to try your "Flash kernel in Recovery" Solution, it exists not so many Kernel.zip with the "Flash Kernel Script" to flash the kernel in recovery... I hope its clear what i mean
this wiil be work on maximus 21 ?

im not 100% sure, but if you're looking for the zip, its in the 2nd post
the 1st time you must flash the kernel through fastboot AND zip through recovery,
later i will make an app that will work to replace kernels.
but even that all will require 1 flash through fastboot.
NOTE:
the zip contains to kernel, one that you flash in fastboot
one that will be copied to /data/boot/
the 1st is kexec which will boot the one in /data/boot/
Not clear enough xD, this (the kernel.zip) was not a request to you, it was an request to somebody to make me a flashable kernel zip, as an example repacked Alex-V kernel for Sense 5, to test this.
Its late here, so my explanation will suffer, sorry for that.

if you are new stick to the stock ..research on your own this is a development forum and there is no "best rom"
my openion is that the stock is kinda perfect for me with
-volume amplifying mod "just by changing some values in a system's file"
-xposed framework with some typical modules
-removing blotware apps and freezing "samsung apps" app with titanium backup

No such thing as 'best ROM'. It all up to an user. However, I always like Slim. It bare minimum, I install only what I want to use, no unnecessary carp. As for Kernel, that depends on your final choice of ROM selection. Some ROM comes already with custom Kernel, if not obviously the choice of AOSP Kernels. If you do decide to stay with TouchWiz, there're custom Kernel for that too. Down the bottom line, you need to do some research first and see what ROM pleases you. But to honest, most are not that much of different. Only a handful would have a feature really stand out and no others have.

You need to have Samsung 4.3 Bootloader or newer.
Make sure you have the latest TWRP/CWM recovery installed.
Next, remember to backup your apps and your efs folder. That's something that you always should do before flashing anything.
Go to TWRP/CWM recovery via pressing home + power + volume up button at the same time.
Make a Nandroid backup of your working system, if you haven't done so.
Its best to do a clean install for any new Rom (clean installation recommended includes internal storage)
In TWRP Recovery hit wipe, and slide to factory data reset system. (Internal won't be touched fyi)
In PHILZ Recovery Format Internal SDCard (in mounts and storage) and do Factory reset (I will install a new ROM option in PhilZ)
(Reminder) Remember that everything you flash you do it at your own risk so do your research before flashing anything!!
Now find the location of the Rom on your external and install it.
Flashing the Rom zip.
It should take less than 10 minutes till it boots...

Xposed Installer Credit : Author(s): rovo89, Tungstwenty
This is the installer for the Xposed framework, which is a requirement for all modules.
Xposed is a framework for modules that can change the behavior of the system and apps without touching any APKs. That's great because it means that modules can work for different versions and even ROMs without any changes (as long as the original code was not changed too much). It's also easy to undo. As all changes are done in the memory, you just need to deactivate the module and reboot to get your original system back. There are many other advantages, but here is just one more: Multiple modules can do changes to the same part of the system or app. With modified APKs, you to decide for one. No way to combine them, unless the author builds multiple APKs with different combinations.

So does this mean that you have to flash the ne1 ROM (buttnaked or full) before flashing this one? Also, how has agni kernel been behaving on 4.4 lately? I shied away from using it because of all the freezes and reboots awhile back. I'm using a 4.4 ROM whose kernel is stock based right now, but the network type within the APN keeps switching LTE off on me, and it's driving me nuts. I love it, but I also love your ROMS, I used your mk6 ROM for a very long time and always keep it in my back pocket. I might give this NJ1 build a shot, since it's an ATT base. Thanks in advance. ?

I used the NE5 as base and patched the NJ1 OTA. So you can just flash it all by itself. It does not have the kernel, but it does have the NJ1 modem.
DoctorQMM has been chatting with Bajanman and he suggested do not go over 4.2.8 kernel.Doc has been running it for a few days and it's doing fine on his phone. But you know, every phone acts different.
I've been running 4.2.5 since it came out. I just loaded 4.2.8 last night. It's running good. I may add it to an update, only thing I see right now is removing a couple of Knox files I missed.
I'm messing with the AOSP 5.0, should be done with the Almost Naked today or tomorrow. Thought I was done last night until I flashed it.
I lost track of my builds ober the last week and the build I'm messing with had the newer Play services and store.
It was a train wreck when I tried to get into Play sotre.. Updates worked fine and it's running now, but it's half assed if I release it like it is.
I dirty flashed this over the ne5 buttnaked v1 I had installed, and it works flawlessly. I had some crashes on the ne5, but none so far on this rom. Thanks Dev...because of you guys, I don't have a need update my Note 2. Much appreciated.

Did you install anything between the flashes? The only difference really is the NJ1 Buttnaked does not have a kernel and the NE5 does.

Use my 3.8.1 kernel. Super solid and stweaks is packed. Just fixed a boot issue with TW as it's dual boot but I've been running it on my Saber rom and it's been flawless. No SOD or RR. Kernel has updated LTE modem firmware too. Gave me an extra bar at home where I consistently had been getting only one. Make sure to get build 3.8.1 from AFH and not 3.8 on xda. I haven't been able to upload to xda for 3 days

Ever since MultiRom come out for D851, People have been experiencing Kernel panics with the latest updates from the CM Sources. (Not everyone, But Most)
The method I used below has worked with no problems with me. I cant say it will work with everyone. But it worked for me..
I know installing a Full Kernel ZIP file on secondary rom can either take 45 mins or longer, or not even work at all. (My Experience.)
But the method listed below, only took 5 secs and worked perfectly..
Now I just wanted to post a work around for the people that are experiencing Kernel Panics when using MultiRom..
Example: you install CM-12 as a secondary rom, Reboot and it crashes with Kernel Panic,
Work around: This awesome Kernel: Optimized SM-4.9.3 Kernel V2.2 for D855/D851/D850/LS990 http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/kernel-optimized-sm-4-9-3-kernel-t2976049
Take that kernel and unzip file. Then in Multi rom settings in TWRP-MultiRom goto list roms.. Pick the Rom with the kernel panic and Then remove Boot image..
click on the add boot image now.. and then goto the unziped kernel from above, Find the boot.img and click on it.. it will add it.. takes only a few secs.
Reboot.. Kernel panic is now gone..... (Becides, that Kernel works great)..
Note: that above example is for Lollipop only.. I havent tested it with any other kernels.. Most kernels that I unziped had that bump stuff listed for the locked bootloaders.
and no correctly listed boot.img So.. it wouldnt work...
You can also Make a Backup of your current working boot image and then flash that into it, Havent testing it like that, but should work the same.
The other work around I heard posted is:
Install to primary ROM then move to secondary rom.
Thank you for this. I have been flashing RIN kernel after any cm12 I've installed since installing MultiROM. Seems to work too, but the hour long wait to flash a 7mb kernel really bugs me.
Next time I flash a cm12 as secondary I'll give this a go.

Or you can try the tootsie-pop test kernel. I implemented the multirom patch into it tonight. If everything works fine it'll be been bumped into the stable kernel and be included with bliss pop and Resurrection remix ROMs.

Yes from what I have tested it works with any Compatible flashable Kernel that unzips and has a boot.img..
The above kernel that I listed on post #1 is Stable but is overclockable, If you dont want that.. Then dont use that one, It was only listed as an Example.
I use that kernel with no problems.. I dont OC my phone, but its nice to have the option to do so.
Ill test out the tootie-pop kernel the next time I feel like messing with my phone.
Now isnt a good time, Im sick, and I have already messed up my linux system and my windows system (windows 10 Enterprise build 9926).. Had to do a fresh install on windows.. my linux doesnt want to let me mount my own drives in gnome.. Says I dont have access do to some error, But I am running Ubuntu Vivid 15.04.. so thats to be expected..
So touching my phone isnt a good idea right now.. I might just end up blowing it up the way my luck is going.
Thanks to the OP. This was a quick and simple fix to a frustrating issue.

After doing a little research, and finding out that the MultiRom is pretty much dead. I decided to delete it all together and stick with the one rom that seemed
very stable and likable for me. I wont say what rom that was as to respect all developers on this forum.. So I stopped all testing and experiments dealing with MultiRom..
If the Developer once again decides to post updates and fixes. I will again. try it.. but for now.. I will no longer post any workarounds or help with this MultiRom section anymore...
As you know that thread was closed in the ROM Development section..
Best rom with custom kernel support for better gaming. Since stock miui is too heavy. PLease suggest
Unofficial LineageOS by nijel8, my script & pico Gapps.

which script exactly sir? there are number of them
This one, maybe

Scripts are in fifth post, you use one for a variant of the phone you have.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71739624&postcount=5
You flash it like anything else from TWRP & if you don't like it you flash back stock one from same post.

I explicitly told you which ROM, Gapps & script you need to flash. Script won't work with MIUI! Their is no costume kernel for MIUI!
ROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max/development/rom-lineageos-14-1-t3529851
Why this one? Because it's rock stable & far less buggy than MIUI. It comes with semi costume kernel (only really needed things ware add & set as defaults) which is also much more secure than others available. Same kernel is adopted by all newer costume ROM's. It's also semi costume ROM & contains only fixes like full support for dual SIM, VOLTE status bar indicator that you won't find in official LineageOS builds, it also uses firmware property libs for hardware directory from Xiaomi MIUI builds. It doesn't contain any added apps or anything else different from official LineageOS. Reed the first post carefully before flashing!
Pico Gapps are the smallest one's & only ones that don't come with Google Asistent which alone saves 100MB of RAM.
So from TWRP as I assume you already have it if you don't find also nijel8 TWRP & install it first. You first flash the ROM, firmware, Pico Gapps (all linked in the first post for ROM), power/performance script. Let it boot in settings find & enable hotplug install your apps & games & enjoy.

Gapps are Gapps. I told pico Gapps because they are smaller and lack Google assistant for sole gaming purpose that means 100MB free RAM. I don't know about RR (I doubt it) ask the author.
