Hello, I would like to fix this bug but I do not know how.
Whatever I do I can no see pictures in my stock gallery (android 4.1.1) on Note 2.
I try to put pictures via cable, dropbox, sdcard...
I try to reset gallery application
I try some other solutions that I found on this forum but nothing helped with this problem.
I really hate it! Can someone help me please?
And I would like to know if it is possible to set up phone to vibrate when contact (which I am calling) answere his phone.
Thank you
Application Manager -> All. Select Media Storage, and clear data. Reboot the phone. This will force the system to rescan all media files.

Use Kies
The same thing happened with me, and the only workaround I found to fix this problem, is by copying the pictures from phone to computer, then used kies to copy the pictures from the computer back to phone, and it worked.

Might I suggest, sadly, the last two options:
Completely delete the entire SD card. If that doesn't work, format your phone. If you're rooted, backup any NECESSARY data, (no options, settings or anything like that, just in case it's related to the settings, but you can make a back up, just don't restore), and then reset device to factory default and see if that eliminates the issue.
Wait, are you rooted? On stock Android Galaxy Note 2? Or do you have any special changes done to your phone?

Are you on CM10?
I believe that this is a bug that has been hitting Samsung phones. It's either, a) a fault in the MMC chip, or b) a CM10 bug. I've had that happen 3 times to me, the 1st time I had no backups and lost over 10GB of media from my External SD Card. The other 2 times I was prevented and lost everything but had a backup. So protip : backup each time you have something new on your phone. Better safe than sorry.
Now, download this program and run it. It'll recover almost all the deleted photos from your SD : http://www.piriform.com/recuva

Hi, I dont know if I have CM10 :S .. i only know that I have anything as brand new (stock rom).
I found a solution but it`s not 100% working.
I downloaded Fish bowl gallery and go in setting>advanced>find missing photos> and than I select the maps where the photos are but are not shown in the stock gallery.
I waited till photos are added and now i have 100 photos (of 117 total) added in my stock gallery (but i still does not have other 17 photos)
Thank you
You should return your phone. If your pictures aren't showing up even after flashing an official rom then something is wrong.

Hi, i have the same problem, as others I think that it is a bug in the stock rom. I didnt resolve it but i use quick.pic instead which is a great too

Hi,
I'm using a SGS3 (no root, no custom rom) but got the same problem! I think it's a jelly bean problem..
Hey buddies,
I'm deleting photos on gallery but when I check them after some times later I assume that they come back!
What should I do ?
I have no idea..
Cheers

Your pictures are most probably getting saved on your external sd card, and since kitkat, you can't modify contents of the sdcard, so that's probably why your pictures are still there even after deleting them.

So, i have the pics on my SD card. what can I do that HTC lets me delete unwanted photos?
I have reset my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 T700 running Android 4.4.2. I had totally forgotten that there were some pictures on the internal storage. I wish to have them but.. Data restore apps need root, right? (Most I've read about do)
So. How do I restore my pictures from the internal storage (if any other methods are possible)
And. How do I root my Tab S WITHOUT TRIPPING KNOX..

No way to flash/root your tab without trippin knox sorry... and for your data: it is really really difficult to restore your data/pics. As soon as you start doing some other stuff on your resetted tab, it will begin to overwrite the old data, that's what deleting does: It says the tab, there is storage that is free now and can be overwritten... so there are kind of 5% chance to get it back
If you are prepared too root your device I have had good success with disk digger. Several times I have used it and recovered nearly everything.
Just ensure you don't recover to the same location.
@Tkkg1994 I see. Thanks for the information. I will stick to not rooting my Tab. @ashyx Cool! Thank you! Will use that app first incase i decide to root .. (Which maybe too late by now, since already have used the Tab to store other stuff as well)

Next time, turn on photo upload in Dropbox or google+. I use it all the time and when ever I take a picture, it uploads to one of them. I have flashed many roms and have also lost data. But all my pictures were saved in the cloud in which I can restore them anytime I want!

Same here, all my pics and vids get auto backed up to Google photos. Plus I only ever use the sd card for media storage. Much easier to recover from an sd card.
+1 to that @DUHAsianSKILLZ but 3G is very limited here. So. Can't.
@ashyx True for the SD card part. Thanks. I just use "Recuva" foe that, but this time it's the internal storage, so.
well i got a new rom flashed on my galaxy nexus but i didnt know i have got some important photos of mine which are now deleted cuz i've formatted evrything ..... now anything can make them come back??? can anything be done?? Do anyone knows anything???

Well, there are applications that can help you.
DiskDigger and Undelete
Both of them needs rooted device.
They are user friendly.
Just scan internal memory and recover.
Both of them are available on play store.
Just the thing is, the data shouldn't be over written.
If you found this helpful, there's a thumbs up button, just click it

A flash memory doesn't work like a hard drive memory. When data is deleted it's gone. On a hdd, when data is deleted the data is just marked as ready to overwrite and is still physically there. As far as we all know, your phone uses flash memory, so all your data is gone, unless you had a back-up to google photos. If not, I'm sorry.

It is very natural to everyone. Please check out your backups such as Google drive, photos, notes , your PC etc.And restore all data as much as you can.You can also log in into your Google account while first boot so that if there is anything was saved to your Google account automatically it will be restored.
