Two days ago, I ordered a couple of these: http://goo.gl/9PSGA, and even paid an extra 25 bucks for overnight shipping because I have this certain instant gratification issue I can't seem to shake...
Anyway, I got a tracking number but noticed it was only being shipped First Class ground, which meant a 2-5 day arrival. Obviously, they made a mistake, and I was a little upset about waiting after paying more for shipping than the cost of the actual product.
So, I went ahead and emailed them this morning at 10 a.m. about the issue.
Thirty minutes later, my phone rang with an area code I wasn't familiar with.
It was a dude named "Michael" calling from Flygrip.
He began by telling me that their shipping department had, in fact, dropped the ball, and apologized up front for that.
But, he also told me that he had just personally just driven over a replacement of my entire order over to FedEx to make sure I get them first thing tomorrow morning (FedEx wasn't the original shipper; it was USPS, and those are still coming).
I was pretty blown away by the quick, personal response, but not nearly as blown away as I was a little later, after I happened to re-watch one of their other videos.
That "dude" Michael?
Yeah, he was only the owner AND founder of the company, and had taken time out of his day to personally take care of my little issue.
I was doubly impressed again, to say the least.
Now, I'm just really looking forward to getting these and trying them out, (I got one for my SGSIII, and one for my Evo4gLTE.), and also wanted to ask:
Does anyone else use the "Flygrip"?
If so, how do you like it?
Or, does anyone else have a similar awesome customer service story concerning your Android devices?

edit: Just noticed QBKING77 already made a review video of these things :

whoa. that's awesome though. important to see a business that dedicated to satisfying customers. made me even more likeable to buying myself one.
im just getting into car sales and this is one of the most important ways to make the customer feel appreciated and will give them the desire to purchase from the company again. its a win win for the business because 1. you're satisfying the customer and 2. you're building your reputation. What you did with this thread was just show how good of a company they are and subconsciously referred us to buy from them. I know I will purchase from them. Excellent customer service goes a long way.
QBKing77 loves the flygrip

I would like to personalize one with a picture or logo like seen in the video below. But I don't see the option on their website. Are they no longer doing this?
- video from their website: http://flygrip.com/pg/create/
I just ordered one for my phone. I'm excited to see how this works.
Here's a review I found for it.

Well, it was more like $70 altogether, but now that I've used them, I hafta say they were quite the bargain. My only problem now is that I want one for every device I own.

Seems they got the price wrong and changed it quickly to £479.00 on launch, you would assume they would refund the difference but their support staff are being very cagey with their responses.
Anyone else in this situation or heard anything from Google?
I have an escalation case open with them at the moment for exactly this case. While not exactly, but the cause is the same.
I wanted the 64g, keyboard and type-c cables., but when I saw the price I said, you have to be kidding, thats far more than the 32g in comparison to the US price. Approx £150 more for the extra compared to £80 now.
I ordered the 32g, keyboard and type-c cables, not willing to pay £550
The next morning, I saw it was down to 479, so I tried to cancel the 32g and order the 64g, knowing that only 12hours had been wasted in processing time.
I couldn't cancel and they want 14 days for a refund and I buy the other one and wait another 3 days processing and 2 days shipment.
I wasn't happy and am waiting for them to sort it out. So wont open the boxes until I know. Really poor first experience directly from google.
They should just refund you the differance, as you could send it back, costing them money, but they have been rather intransigent with me so far, so who knows.

Yeah, if Google don't refund the difference the tablet will be sent back for a refund, I might have let it go if it was a small difference but £79 is substantial enough to be an issue and worth the hassle.
I've spoken to two people and they're been very unhelpful, they are not clued up and will only go as far as to say they're investigating the issue, bit of a shambles really.

You are more forgiving tham me I have to say.
If it was £20 they should refund, as it was clearly their error, or they are out to screw over their keenest supporters.
I've had no response from them all day today, so maybe its the US support that is great and the UK useless, as I read others have had great support from google in the past.

Ditto, really unimpressed. Courteous support staff but they have no idea what to do and from what I was told today they don't seem to have the necessary tools to allow them to do a partial refund.
The amount of wasted time and transport in sending out another tablet, just for me to box it up and return it again so that they can process a refund is ridiculous.

It's ridiculous, not impressed.
They are keeping me updated but it's basically the same information over are over again, they're investigating.
I will give them a few more days into next week and then I'm going to tell them to come and collect it.
Have you both asked for the case to be escalated? Presume so.
Not that it makes a differance, as they have not replied to me since the 10th.
For a premium product and their error, its quite staggering they do not know what to do.
I hope you get it sorted.

Yep, hasn't really helped.
It's just the same response every time, they're investigating, they're going to email the specialist team., etc.
dp? really.
Just received an email confirming that they will refund the £70... half an hour after I RMA'd and dropped the return package off with UPS! FFS.

That's really bad timing, I just got the same email.
It's completely their fault for making us wait almost a week without an answer, another day and I would have done the same.
I don't suppose there's any chance of getting that parcel back? If it's just been dropped off you might have a chance, I'd give them ring.
Thank you for your recent order from the Google Store.
During checkout it appears you were charged an additional £70 on top of what we had originally intended the Pixel C to be priced at for your region. We have gone ahead and applied a refund for this amount back to the original payment method used for this purchase. This refund may take a few days to reflect with your financial institution.

Well sounds like they did the right thing in the end. Although bad timing and so long!
After 6 days, with them ignoring my email, I spoke with support about my screen issue (which they appear to have resolved, still testing) and the support guy fully understood and agreed 6 days was not acceptable.
He stated he would take ownership and give me a proper answer, although thats what the previous guy said too!
Glad it sort of worked out for you both.
I purchased a water damaged Nexus 5x, took the time to tear it down, clean the board and connections. It's back to life! The problem is, as with most any water damaged phones, the battery is in need of replacement. Looking around my usual channels (ebay, google) I'm not able to find any. The exception at the moment is one listing in the US for an absurd $90, and another in Spain for a slightly reasonable $35, but with $15 shipping. Anybody around here know where a more affordable replacement can be procured?

I appreciate the link, but that battery is the BL-T9 for the Nexus 5 haha. I probably did come across those places during my intense googlin'. I'd be interested in knowing if the battery is interchangeable in some relatively easy way. But that, too, is hard information to come by.

In my opinion it is relatively easy in a sense that it's possible without too much effort. However it is not easy to the point where it's something that you're going to be able to do on the fly. I would plan on 5-10 minutes to change the battery. See the ifixit teardown of the Nexus 5X, you should be able to figure it out that way.

Search for'LG Nexus 5X Battery' at fixez.com (with a 'z' at the end) for $25.00
Also search for 'Nexus 5X Water Test 'on youtube first though.

I did a quick lookup. While they've got a few negative reviews on the BBB website, the people are complaining about poor customer service in the event of issues with the parts. So at least people are getting parts from them. Everything else seems legitimate enough. They accept paypal, so I'm confident enough to try. Thanks again, I looked and looked for hours and couldn't find anything in the US, let alone under $40 after shipping.
What did you pay for your water damaged phone? I had an opportunity to buy a previously submerged 5x for $120, but that seemed a lot for a potential paperweight.

I'm sorry, I just now saw you already asked that. I lucked out and got mine for $80. Complete gamble, but I had a good feeling about it. Wouldn't power up, but after cleaning off a few corrosion spots it fired up. Now behavior points to the battery needing replaced and I'll be good to go.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but fixez is bull**** for that battery right now. I saw your post and had to recover my password to reply to you but I am so annoyed by that company that I had to reply. So I watered my 5x a couple weeks ago and dried it out but it would not charge. So I figure it's the battery. Looked online, ebay has one from spain, one US guy has a used one for 60 bucks, fixez has them, and then some sites in the UK and Germany. I put an order in with fixez, and then a day later got my shipping confirmation yay!! on my way to getting back in business!! Then the next day I get a call and email saying that the item is backordered and should be in stock in a bout a week. I emailed back and told them that their site still has it shown as in stock and I asked them if they ever had the item in stock, and if they have ever actually shipped this item before. They ignored my questions and said we should have it in 7 days. 8 days later I emailed them and asked what is up and reminded them again that their website still lists it as in stock. They said they would let the tech guys know about the website error, but that the item should be available in a couple days.
Well I emailed them again with the same thing: that their site still has it shown as in stock and I asked them if they ever had the item in stock, and if they have ever actually shipped this item before. And I also asked for a "real" time estimate. I then got the same email and phone call that said that the item is back ordered and that they expect it in stock in about a week. So it went from "in stock", to "about 7 days", to a "couple days", back to "7 days" and the website still says it's in stock. So I ordered from rounded.com (total plus shipping came out to $35.24) and canceled my order with fixez, and now I wait to see if that works out. Rounded has emailed me to let me know that my order has been completed, but I was given no tracking number. If I had just ordered from rounded.com instead of fixez, I would already have my new battery by now. The refund from fixez came through right away.
Hope this helps.

The bubble was already popped for me, haha. When did this happen to you? The exact same thing happened with me. I made the order that day, got a tracking number within an hour, then yesterday got a call saying the exact thing. I missed the call, but the guy left a thorough message stating it was out of stock and they were expecting stock within seven days. Weird thing was I got an email a few minutes after the call from a different company quoting a different order number saying the exact same thing. When I returned the call at the number it came from, I got yet another different company name. I get that they could all be run by the same group of people, but it's far from confidence inspiring despite the good communication. I'll have to look into the site you mentioned.
And YES, the lack of battery on eBay is crazy. I'd have been better off ordering it from Spain, at least I'd have it by the weekend if I ordered when I very first saw it. The dude in the US that has the USED battery originally wanted $90 for it. I messaged him asking to make the price more reasonable for a pulled unit, and he did incremental drops over the next two hours to where it's sitting now. I told him about pricing other places have for it and offered 35 for it, and he said he couldn't go that low. Dickhead is trying to take advantage of the lack of availability. For his used ass battery... I ordered an extra unit from ifixez just to sell it for half his asking price just to spite him haha.
I put in my order with rounded.com yesterday and canceled my order with fixez today. I still don't think they ever had the battery in stock, or shipped one to a customer. I just don't understand why the would go through all the effort replying to me, calling me, misleading me, just to keep a $35 order active. Oh well. Hopefully rounded.com comes through. Good luck!!

Hey, that was me! I actually saw this thread when researching options for the replacement battery. I took the PCB from the original dead battery and it fit perfectly with the G2.
I have excellent battery life with the G2 battery so far, the only issue I have is my phone wont give out any battery percentage. But it lasts all day easily and I just charge it overnight so no issues at the moment.
I got the phone dead from Swappa so I'm also waiting to hear if that rounded.com battery works out.
Slickwraps had a sale some days ago for %50 off everything. I made the order and paid through PayPal. I get an email the next day or two that my order was canceled... with no reason. I emailed them to inquire and the response was... Their system flagged the transaction as fraud. I'm a bit skeptical about this as I used PayPal and am verified. No issues in the past. I suspect they didn't want to honor the %50 off deal. I asked them if I could reorder and still get 50 off. No response yet. I don't think I'll attempt to buy a thing from them again. Anyone here had similar experience?
Blame the FDA.
*EDIT - If you read the post I just deleted, ignore it. I was thinking about dbrand, so it was irrelevant. I did just checked slickwraps, though, and today is the last day for 50% off.

Oddly enough, dbrand is processing my order right now. I checked with PayPal and they didn't see any issue with my transaction with slickwraps. I went with slickwraps originally because of the supposed awesome customer service and quick turn around time. I'm done with them. They basically gave me some BS answer and didn't follow up or tried to make it right. Not asking for anything free, but at least offer to resubmit the order after I checked with PayPal about the transaction. They just straight up ignored me.
@tripey That's crazy about slickwraps, but you'll be happy with your dbrand skin. I've had both brands before and always pleased with both, just decided to go with dbrand on my v20. I haven't seen slickwraps on a v20 in person, so I can't really say which is better. I can't imagine slickwraps being any better, though, because the fitment of my dbrand skin is great. The quality looks and feels excellent, like usual, each of my previous dbrand skins always held up nicely. Which color combo did you order?

Oh definitely never order from Slickwrapps. I tried once and im not sure that i will waste my time with them anymore. I ordered, filled up all information as it's mentioned on website, waited 35 days and no response from them. After i contacted them i got information that for Dubai i need to write 0000 postal code, otherwise it will not be delivered.
I checked what i filled up and it's mentioned that if country dont have postal code, you're supposed to write N/A, as i wrote. After that i had option to pay again for delivery and wait again 30-40 days for delivery or pay some express delivery which is around 30$ and delivery time will again take 15 day. I just refused to loose more time with them since i had chance to see that there's also possibility to not deliver it again.

happen to me as well, i guess they didnt want to offer the 50% off their products for the natural series on slickwraps. so i got dbrand instead. problem solved.
I had a good experience with Slickwraps. My order was promptly shipped, but the post service was slow to deliver. I sent an email to Slickwraps noting the delay and they express shipped another skin without any fuss. My original order ended up coming later on.
That said, I don't use any skin anymore as the phone feels way too nice without one.

I'm in the same boat and currently using Zenfone 2 Laser. I'm currently getting 2-3 days of uptime with daily use of around 1 hour of whatsapp/facebook, listening to music for couple of hours, wifi/data on for 1-2 hours. Can I expect around the same from Honor 7x? I really like the phone and would've bought it if it had 4000mah battery, but confused now.

I Understand You Would Like Guaranteed Sure Fire Answer..
But what you ask, is impossible to judge.
No one knows what type of possible battery draining apps you have running in the background. Or for that matter,
Live Wallpapers..
Bright Wallpapers..
Your Enviroment... Hot ? Cold? etc...
The answer is Impossible for anyone to give but yourself. Can you get more than a day? YES :good:
Two to Three days ?
You have 15 days to return the device in the United States through Huawei.
You have 30 days to return the item through Amazon.
Give it a whirl.. and see what you think.

Just checked Amazon India return policy for mobiles and sadly you cannot return mobiles anymore. They'll only replace defective ones, that too within 10 days.
Thanks man! What you suggest makes sense, I just hope it doesn't breaks my heart to return the phone after reading great reviews about it's screen!
Battery life on this phone is the best I've ever had... Better than my Samsung Note 5, Note 3 and Galaxy S4 active. On days of light use, I take off the charger at 7:30 AM and when I leave work around 5 PM I am on 89%...days with moderate use, I'm at 70% at the end of the day. All of my other phones would be at 40%-50% from day one. This phone is unbelievably customizable. I have most apps set to sleep when screen is closed and some other items to save battery life. Also, I have a ASUS smartwatch with Android wear connected all day. Amazing battery life...
The only concern is texting is a bit wonky even with 3rd party applications. Scrolling through group texts is not smooth and tends to loop at times. Other than that---great phone.

Thanks. This gives me hope. What's your typical usage pattern, if you don't mind me asking?

Usually 1.2 hours of Bluetooth connection on my round trip to work and lunch with streaming music and about 25-40 minutes of phone calls. Connection to my smartwatch all day, checking Notes traveler email every 15 minutes (refreshes). Also, I probably take 10-15 photos for work each day and email to customers (20 MB), probably 15-50 texts during that period, calendar, Outlook and about 30-40 minutes SOT.

The battery is quite nice in this phone. I've jumped ship from Redmi Note 4 which had a massive 4100 MaH battery which usually lasted for around 10-12 hours (screen on time) depending upon screen brightness.
This one doesn't disappoint too. It lasts me for about 7-8 hours (screen on time). I've about 44 apps installed including the battery enemy messenger and Facebook apps too. I do think this phone is well optimised.
Screen on time depends on usage and number of active apps with screen brightness.
In ultra power mode, I left the phone at 25% charge at 10 pm and it was 25% at 6 am. So that's a big advantage again.
Here's a screenshot for you.
Battery life is really good on this phone...actually too good for my taste, as I found it killing Tasker, even though I had it whitelisted on their list of apps to kill when then phone goes to sleep. This was quite frustrating but I think I've found a fix in Tasker settings. I unchecked "Run In Foreground" and now I haven't seen it killed since, but it's only been 1 day. This seems backward to me but it seems better so far.

Amazon no longer takes returns on phones, only exchanges
https://www.gadgetsnow.com/tech-new...cy-for-mobile-phones/articleshow/50901907.cms
"All mobile phones that are fulfilled by Amazon, purchased on or after 7th February 2016, will have a replacement only policy. Mobile phone items that are fulfilled by Amazon will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged mobile phone, you will be eligible for a free replacement,"
Granted, this is from 2016, and I cannot find info regarding it on Amazon's website. But this is the reason i chose to buy directly from Huawei.
Yeah Amazon India also has no return/refund policy for mobiles anymore. Unfortunately honor india also doesn't have return policy, only 10 days replacement.
Sorry Guys... It's Not That Way In The U.S. of A...

I Don't Know About Other Countries..
And.. Topnomi's Info Is (I'm Sorry To Say.. Incorrect)
Here is the proof from my Own Personal Order that I placed in August for a Redmi Note 4.. (See Pic)
I had no hassle whatsoever returning the deivce for a full refund. I had to cutoff some of the pic because it contained my personal information..
But you can see enough to see that I recveived a Full Refund... No Questions Asked.
I hope this settles this issue for Amazon U.S.A.

Thanks for correcting my info guys
i should have done more research instead of accepting the fake news
