Hello everyone! I have a VS985 G3 on Verizon here. Looking to see if anyone has insight into what this means. I would post in the Verizon specific Q&A section but trying to reach a large part of the G3 community here incase other device versions have seen the same issue.
I am getting an error when trying to downgrade via flashtool TOT method.
Some background info:
I have two G3 devices. One of them is older and running 12.1 / twrp and my android environment flashes TOT and KDZ's just fine on that G3
I recently bought a new VS985 G3 from Verizon and it came already running the annoying 35B build and cannot downgrade.
Now some users have plenty of luck downgrading on the 35B build using the (.dll) file provided from the 35B kdz, I and a few other users report that we cannot.
Here is the error I get when using TOT method and the 35B DLL

I have tried every DLL from all of the KDZ files I have, which would be
The flashtool error also maybe involves the (.laf) file? Which I can obtain by extracting a TOT via the BoardDiag tool v2.99
Lastly, the log file containing the error from flashtool is attached to this post. (Programs like notepad++ open it best, you can get a better "line by line" read out to view)
With that all being said my questions if anyone can help:
1) Does anyone know what the KS version means? And how to potentially resolve this issue?
2) Does it seem to matter if the device was shipped with 35B or they OTA'd to that build, in regards to whatever the KS version would be?
3) Is the info in flashtool related to the actual LAF file in the TOT?
4) Am I asking the right questions based on the errors I am getting or am I off base here in finding a resolution?
Thanks to all who took the time to read! Hopefully someone knows what the problem is here.
Ps. I am running on windows 7 pro with signed drivers off and lg driver version 2.20 and also tried with driver version v4.0.3
Same Problem: "there is no ks version"
Same issue here. Tried on Windows 8.1 and Windows XP machines. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers a few times to rule that out. Any other ideas?
Same issue here. Got a new LG G3 with 35B. Trying to get TWRP on it. Can't downgrade due to the "ks" error. Any other way to get TWRP on?
I found a solution!

Guys, I am trying to flash a stock ROM (20A) on my G3 (D855P, 10C). I installed LG United Mobile Drivers, extracted the LG flash tool, downloaded the kdz file and tried to start flashing, but I keep having this error:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
These lots of question marks and phone stays on 0% progress.
If I disconect the phone, I can remove the battery and the phone works well. I just wanted to update to Lollipop, because it didn't arrived at my carrier yet.
I tried in two different computers (Win 7 x64 and Win 8.1 x64), and I keep having the same error. Also, I tried to change DIAG to CS_Emergency, samething.
One thing that I noticed is that I can't select any different country when flashing. If I select "different country", nothing appears on the second box. Don't know if this is related to the error.
I also tried two different ROMs (20A from Poland and from Brazil), same error on both.
Does anyone know what's going on? I will put the Log file that I got from LGMobileUpgrade folder down below.
Thank you very much!
Have you tried the TOT way over KDZ? On my G2 this worked well, but the KDZ did not work (probably a user error here). I'd say it's worth a shot if the KDZ isn't working for you. Think there's a thread in general that discusses these two. Just my two cents. Hope you get it working for you!

Under no circumstances use TOT
You have a higher chance of something going horribly wrong with it
Did you run it as administrator? Check your drivers, usb cable as well and try using another usb port

OK. Guess I missed that memo a year ago. Probably would have helped http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57100094&postcount=263
Yes, I think I did everything right, in 2 computers, using 2 different cables, using win 7 x64 and win 8.1 x64... don't know what to do anymore

It doesn't matter what your phone's imei is, all you need is to download the correct kdz files for your phone model. Try looking for a kdz for D855 instead of the imei. All you need is to flash the correct file for your phone model. You will never go wrong.
okay guys, so, problem
trying to downgrade my LG G4 H815T thats currently running 6.0 to 5.1 due to crap battery life.
now, heres the problem
when i attempt to use LGUP as said in the forums, it comes up with this error: DLL for H81520D is not installed properly. Please, install a DLL package (*.msi). for the model.
i've looked everywhere for a fix, uninstalling and then reinstalling, tried installing the DLL first, then the LGUP software, etc. and no luck, tried 5 different computers running between windows 7 and 10, still no luck. anyone got any ideas
Cheers
Are you using the LGUP from here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
Also, do you have all of the drivers for the phone installed?

Posting this because there seems to be no information on this device not in Russian.
Bought a HomTom HT3 (non-Pro). Came with firmware 1.0.1, and no OTA update available (seems HomTom's server has been down for some time, and their website is no help). 1.0.1 firmware doesn't seem rootable by any method I tried (not an experiences Android hacker, or even user).
Using SP Flash Tool (MediaTek flash tool) it's possible to flash official 2.0.8 firmware (latest, near as I can tell). I'd post a direct link to the firmware on Google Drive, but new user restrictions. You can Google: "M20_HT3_V2.0.8_user_20160419-14_29_27.zip"
In my case it was necessary to install the MediaTek VCOM drivers as well.
With 2.0.8 installed, rooting is as simple as installing and running KingRoot. Hope this helps someone.
p.s. it seems the Russians have CM and other customs ROMS for this phone.
You can Google: "M20_HT3_V2.0.8_user_20160419-14_29_27.zip"

I have exactly the same problem that u described.
But unfortunately the file was deleted from Google drive and I am screwed unless u can maybe send it to me or upload it and send me the link? I would appreciate a lot!! Really man, I am going crazy here x(
Unfortunately don't have. I'd suggest scouring HomTom's facebook page, including through user posts, for firmware links.
Damn, but thanks for your advice.
Btw do u have a recovery that works for this version?
I have problem with Homtom HT3 PRO version. After using SP Flash Tool to upgrade official ROM phone starting with broken picture. What I can do?

Problem solved. Just load used SP Flash Tool stock ROM 1.0.3 and phone will start. It does not work on stock softs 1.0.6, 1.0.9, 1.1.2
Hi,
I am a complete newbie when it comes to this so please explain in simple terms.
So I will explain as briefly as possible:
- I have Windows 10 x64
- Bought LG G3 last week, it had Android 4.4.2 (and was already rooted)
- It had overheating issues and battery died fast so I tried to update Android via LG PC Suite -> Did NOT work
- I read that having root access blocked it, but that I could update manually
- I installed USB drivers
- I setup ADB and Fastboot
- I tried using LG Flash Tool 2014 and the Android 6.0 KDZ but it did NOT work (always said there was connection error)
- I tried using lgg3rootdotcom's method to reset the phone back to STOCK ROM without root and followed their instructions to the letter (set COM to 41 etc)
- I did everything, but then it keeps coming up with an error on LG Flash Tool (at 6%)
- It repeats "LAF : Bin_User_Mode" three (3) times whereas in the instructional video it only showed ""LAF : Bin_User_Mode" once (1)
- Then "[ERROR] : Partition Change factory Partition (Phone!=tot)"
(I want to share images but I can't because I am a new member with restrictions, I will post images later today)
- I downloaded the .tot and .dll from lgg3rootcom's website
- I tried D855 Europe, Hongkong, and Taiwan .tot but NONE worked
- Now my phone ONLY boots into Download mode :crying:
- I cannot get into Recovery mode or Normal boot...
- I REALLY just want to get it back to stock right now... Please HELP!
Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I used exact instructions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772199
But it ERROR appears at 6% with "[ERROR] : Partition Change factory Partition (Phone!=tot)"
Also, please ask any questions if you want to know more so you can help me..
