I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 running CM 10.1.3 Stable and I downloaded a custom kernel called chronickernel v2.1. I was hoping i could get some help with instaling this and overclocking my cpu. Thanks ahead of time.
Kernel are usually flash in custom recovery (zip file). Make sure it's compatible for your phone/ROM.
And I was hoping you could help me over clock my cpu
I use SetCPU but there are other apps out there that can do the same.
Is it okay if I use the CyanogenMod tool in the settings?

Hi,
I have had good luck with the KT- kernel in the general section, make sure you pick the proper kernal for your
carrier and whether you have a aosp or twk rom, it installs kt tweaker also, and you can follow their different
settings to run the kernel like you want. It has a setting in kt tweaker to overclock, and numerous other settings,
such as governing your cpu etc.

Yes. It works perfectly fine.
Just make sure you select "Set on boot" in that menu or you will lose the OC setting on reboot.
You will be happy with ChronicKernel. I've tried every kernel available for the S4 and Chronic has delivered the most stable results for me. (Your milage may vary)
Yes, I configured my ROMs kernel (current one)... But I Don't want to wipe out the changes I made. I want to install a new ROM, which of course will install a completely new kernel.
So... What I did to my kernel:
Through Ubuntu Terminal ADB, I got the /proc/config.gz and edited my kernel to optimize it for my external USB adapter. (My phone: Galaxy s4 i9505, my ROM: CyanogenMod 10.1 stable)
Here's the ROM I want to install:

So if anyone could reply if they know how to do kernel building and configuring and could help me, it would be VERY MUCH appreciated In fact, I might donate!
Try trickster MOD kernel settings from the play store. Use the donate 1 to unlock the ability to save your kernel preferences. Just be sure to have the kernel you are running now in a zip file so you can flash it after your new ROM and then restore your settings through trickster mod. Good luck!!

if you are new stick to the stock ..research on your own this is a development forum and there is no "best rom"
my openion is that the stock is kinda perfect for me with
-volume amplifying mod "just by changing some values in a system's file"
-xposed framework with some typical modules
-removing blotware apps and freezing "samsung apps" app with titanium backup
Thanks a lot .but what kernel shall I use for stock ROM?...I

No such thing as 'best ROM'. It all up to an user. However, I always like Slim. It bare minimum, I install only what I want to use, no unnecessary carp. As for Kernel, that depends on your final choice of ROM selection. Some ROM comes already with custom Kernel, if not obviously the choice of AOSP Kernels. If you do decide to stay with TouchWiz, there're custom Kernel for that too. Down the bottom line, you need to do some research first and see what ROM pleases you. But to honest, most are not that much of different. Only a handful would have a feature really stand out and no others have.

f4ktion (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568479) is a good Kernel, but it not for stock ROM, only AOSP compatible ROMs, such as Slimrom or CM. For stock TW ROM only the Vikinger (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545244)
Hi, would you recommend me kernel manager,i try trickstermod ,but its doesnt work.I want to set the system in "eko mode" UC,set to multicore power saving ...etc.
I doubt anything will work, UC and UV has to be enabled in the Kernel. Stock kernels dont have it.
