How to change layout of external / physical bluetooth keyboard? - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can successfully bluetooth pair the bluetooth keyboard and use it. However, I would like to change the bluetooth keyboard layout to a different one. Googling reveals that Android should have a sub menu in the 'Settings', 'Language & input' menu called 'Physical Keyboard'... but on the Zenfone 2 there is no sign of it. Interestingly, if I navigate to 'Language & input' and click on the search icon in the top right hand corner, and then type 'physical' and the result pops up 'Physical keyboard'. If I click on the result then it takes me to the 'Language & input' menu... but there is on 'Physical keyboard' sub-menu Is this a bug in Lollipop or the Zenfone 2? How to change the bluetooth keyboard layout? Or how to get the 'Physical Keyboard' menu to appear?

Hand recognition on TP2?

I know when you are making a call, you can click on the notes icon and phone will let you scribble in your writing. Can the same be done for text messages and word?
yes. Its called transcriber. Infact its been a feature of Windows Mobiles for years...
Tap the keyboard icon down the bottom and choose transcriber somewhere in the list.
I cannot find the transcriber option in the keyboard options. I went to settings tab and when I try and change from Touch Input to Transcriber and click Ok and then go back to the input type menu, it's changed back to Touch.
found it...

Setting T9 instead of XT9

On my Kaiser I always set word correction to be T9 (pop up list of suggestions) rather than XT9.
I did the change using advanced config utility. The advanced config utility I have for the TP2 does not have this feature.
Who know how to adjust the registry to enable T9 instead of XT9?
Not sure if this is what you're looking for but here goes...
Go to "Settings" tab in TF3D
Tap "All Settings"
Go to "Personal" tab
Tap "Input"
With "Touch Input" selected, tap "Options..."
Go to "XT9 Settings" tab
Uncheck "Auto-Substitution"

Thanks for the reply but that's not it.
In XT9 the default, word suggestions appear in a row across the screen.
In T9 the word suggestions appear in a pop up block on the screen.

Has anyone figured out how to enable T9 instead of XT9 on the TP2?
I think the answer to your question is found in the thread:

I'm not very sure as I don't know what the T9 is supposed to look like...

T9 is a text predictive input method found mostly on mobile phones, where you use numeric keys to enter letters (hence the letters on each key) and the software predicts the word by the sequence in which you press the keys. This input method is present on my Dopod D810.
The word completion function being discussed is not a part of T9, but a Pocket PC/Windows Mobile feature that has always been present on PPC devices (way before these PDA convergence phones) but has been replaced by HTC to give a different behaviour and appearance.
I think I have the problem figured.
Once you do the reg tweaks T9 pop up word suggestion works great until you try and do a new contact.
When you move from a text field to a number field the keypad automatically changes to numeric and after that it will not change back again at all for any text field.
Some clever person out there needs to work out what other registry change needs to be made to re-enable the auto switching of the keyboard between text and numeric fields while still maintaining the T9 word suggestion.

anyway to select multiple files in file explorer?

it only allows you to select one at a time. anyone know how to do multiple files?
I think if you open up the on screen keyboard, you can hit the ctrl key and select multiple files.
what about the tilt 2? there's no control key.
Set the on screen keyboard to "compact keyboard" I believe. One of the keyboard types on the "on screen" keyboard has a ctrl key.
I've been selecting the first thing then Shift+down arrow on the keyboard to select multiples. Will have to try the compact on screen keyboard.
thanks, do you know how i can multi select in inbox? so i can delete more than 1 email?

A) Ok do this presss menu>settings>applications>manage applications>press the "All" tab>Scroll down to HTC Sense and tap it> scroll down and select "clear defaults"> now from the Home button on your phone(looks like a house)>A Complete Action Using window should appear> Check the "Use by default for this action" button>then select launcher pro......Laucher pro should be your default launcher now.
B) under settings>Language & Keyboard. Check the box next to all the keyboards to enable them. now open a text or something where you need to type. tap & hold in the text field until the "Edit Text" window appears then select Input Method and then pick your poison....DONE.
Hope that answers your questions bud.

(Q)How To Change HTC Keyboard

how to change the keyboard i download ics keyboard but i don't know how to change in settings i don't see any option
You'll need to go to Settings > Language & Keyboard
then turn "ON" the keyboard that you installed.
When any keyboard pops up during use, you will notice a keyboard icon at the notification bar. Open that up and you can choose all the available keyboards, including the one that you installed and turned "ON".
