The Fast Boot option has been removed by HTC since the guide was written, so don't worry about that.

Correct. But I would uninstall HTC Sync. The drivers will remain.
HTC Sync doesn't play nice with ADB, and after the drivers are installed it is pretty much useless

Transfer it to your internal storage. By root directory, it means just to the storage and not in a folder. Just drag and drop it to your phone's storage with the Windows file explorer

yeah, ok, the procedure enables the search of the Internet adb drivers (Windows Vista), but these are not found in databases of Microsoft.
So the only way is to install them manually as specified above.

there are two different versions of the gpad tablet. If you didn't buy it through the Google Play Store it is not the GPE.
I am not aware that adb can be used with the bootloader on the regular LG g pad.
the second thread in the general section has information on rooting your lg device.
if you did buy it through the Play Store then make that the first thread.
might I ask what you're trying to do? There may be another way.
ah gpe google play edition of course! i am trying to put a custom reocvery onto it. using a script i found online and it doesn't seem to be working.

you first need to download and install ADB properly on your computer. Then make sure that your device is read by your computer, and then proceed from there. Again, if you are using Linux feel free to follow my signature below if you are using Windows however you will need to definitely follow the guide in general.

There is. From a device that is off, plug in your USB cord and then press the power button and the down volume button at the same time. The bootloader screen should come up. I don't know that this works for a locked bootloader.
When you type in "adb devices", you should receive a prompt on your tablet instructing you do accept your computer as an interface. I recommend trying this first. Without adb you stand a good chance of messing up your device.
im not getting a dialog box on the tablet but adb does see the tablet

1) Mods won't like you posting a question in the Dev thread... there are specific sections (general, firmware, etc) where you can post it...
2)Considering that your phone is practically new, if you only rooted it and haven't installed a custom recovery, you will be able to update your firmare (OTA) through the built in upgrade process on your phone. Once, that is done, root your phone and install a custom recovery like TWRP.
good luck

Yes, I sure do.
First of all, if you want the newest ViperOne, you'll want 5.0.1 firmware, at least.
Hook up to you PC. Get into ADB/fastboot, and issue the command fastboot getvar all.
Post the readout here, and I, or someone else, will point you in the proper direction to update your firmware.
Please make sure to delete the serial# and IMEI from the readout. Never post those in a public forum.

Yes, but that's easy. Unlock your bootloader, flash TWRP, and flash a rooted ROM, such as ViperOne.
Also, I recommend not using one click toolkit methods. They often cause problems, plus doing it manually is easy and gives you an introduction to ADB and fastboot, making it less intimidating.
I don't know how to do it manually =( last time I tried I hard bricked my m7

I don't know.
Maybe you don't have the drivers installed on your PC.
Go to Device Manager with your phone connected. You should see that your M8 is connected.
If you don't see it in Device Manager, download HTC Sync Manager and run it to install the drivers. After that, uninstall HTC Sync. It doesn't play nice with ADB and fastboot. The drivers will remain.
Then go to Device Manager and confirm that your phone is listed there when connected..

I think i know how you hardbricked your G3
Its because you wrote the G2 versions of the android bootloader, kernel and download mode partition
Its because of these commands below. It would have copied these partitions to your phone and then written them to your device
adb.exe push aboot.img /data/local/tmp/aboot.img
adb.exe push laf.img /data/local/tmp/laf.img
adb.exe push boot.img /data/local/tmp/boot.img
adb.exe push recovery.img /data/local/tmp/recovery.img
You can follow this guide instead with the D855 TOT+DLL but im doubtful it will work. This methods seems to be hit and miss http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772199
If it also wrote the System Bootlooder your phone would have automatically kicked into QHUSB_DLOAD and that is alot easier to fix than this
