AT&T Note 5 COM PORT/IOT Hidden Menu - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note5

Happy Holidays to those who celebrate.
I have a AT&T Note 5 SM-N920W8 and I am looking for assistance in getting my device to connect as a COM PORT for use with QXDM, QPST, JDSU, ect. Also the GSM variant code for the IOT Hidden menu.
I have tried the CDMA/Verizon method of ##366633# for DM and ##433346# for IOT, but no luck. Any ideas XDA?
Thanks

Any Help?
XDA,
I would appreciate an answer on this. Yes/No. Any help is appreciated.

You aren't getting an answer because your question doesn't make sense. There is no AT&T device with a model of SM-N920W8.

He's asking for the hidden menu dialer code that will work on the Note 5. I think the problem he's experiencing is that sometimes these hidden codes are carrier specific, but he's using an unofficial model of the phone on the ATT network. I would suggest he reach out directly to Samsung for the dialer code - you can even do so through their Samsung+ app
---------- Post added at 12:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:23 PM ----------
Have you tried:
*#0*# - Hardware Test Menu
*#*#4636#*#* - Phone Info/test Menu
*#9090# - Service Mode
I can confirm all those work and provide different functions on the SM-N920A on the AT&T Carrier network.

Thank you for the help. I was told it was an AT&T variant, after looking at the information I can see that it is not. I have tried those codes, but they are not the ones I am after. The IOT hidden menu is the one I have been searching for. The usual code I use for my samsung products is ##433346#, but I usually have to go into a PST tool to unlock the hidden menus first because most carriers lock these menus down unless you have a test device.

[Q] "Not Registered On Network" Error

Hi, hoping you guys can help me out:
Current Problem: Bought an unlocked N900T, put in my metroPCS sim, try to dial *228 to switch my plan to that phone's IMEI. Get the "Not Registered On Network" error. Ok. Call metroPCS and have them switch me to that IMEI manually while phone is off and sim is out, still not working, they switched the phone to troubleshooting mode for 2 hours and still couldnt figure it out. Now I'm back on my S3 trying to figure out what's wrong.
Things it cant be:
1) Can't be the sim, it works fine in my S3
2) Can't be the IMEI is bad, checked and looks good
3) Can't be ESN is blocked, checked that
Things i've already tried:
1) ODIN back to pure stock rom (was already there anyway tho)
2) Factory reset
3) Set network to GSM, select automatic registration, never finds service.
I hear there is some Ariza patch to fix network for s3, s4, note 2. dont see one for Note 3. Any ideas would be appreciated. :crying:
You might be in in a At&t area, and its trying to connect to that carrier. Mine does that when I'm not in tmobile area. You might want to uncheck roaming if it's enabled.

Sound like it's default carrier is wronge. Find network operators and manually set it to metropcs.

Also check what frequency metropcs is using. And set it correctly. Because if it's not set right your phone will try and connect to the wronge carrier that it's not registered too. It sounds like it's trying to connect to the wrong carrier.

T989 out of USA issues: good signal but no network access

I have this T989 unlocked and beeing used with local SIM in Central America, maybe the modem/radio is not full compatible with the local network because in a Building I can get 3 or 4 signal bars but when I send a SMS I get "SMS not send" message, and get "No Network Service" when trying a voice call, why is there 3-4 signal bars without Network Available? Phone come back to normal when I go to an open field. Maybe the T989 Modem/Radio is not as full compatibleas I9100 (international model) modem/Radio? May I flash I9100 Modem/Radio into T989?
First, if you flash that radio you could brick. Do not flash anything not made for your device.
If you're on Jelly Bean, or a higher custom rom version, only the latest T-Mobile or Telus radios will work. Nothing else.
Is likely that your apn settings are wrong or missing. You'll have to Google what your carrier apn settings are and check in mobile network settings.
Also, if your carrier bands aren't supported by the t989, there's nothing you can do... It won't work.

Yep, I have no sim and see those " signal bars" all the time. I believe T-Mobile told me it was for 911 signal or something.

OK, T989 will only work with modem for T989.
Thank you both!

I only know that TMO US supports FD. Most US carriers support this, but I haven't done a whole lot of research on other carriers other than TMO US.
you rock. i'm on tmobile and just enabled it. from the little research I did it seems like it's surely a good idea to enable it correct it? really no downside?

my only question is i've read if you have it on and your area/network don't support it you can loose more battery life? Does all of tmobile have it in the US or does it go by area and if so how do i check?
BTW Thanks again!

There is no downside as long as your carrier supports it, yeah. FD basically switches your LTE connection to 3G if you're not using the internet. This way it doesn't drain your battery as quickly. The reason why you lose battery if your carrier does NOT support it, is because then your phone ping the network more than it should. All of TMO US LTE areas have this because it's built into the network.
Just curious why T-Mobile doesnt enable this by default on their phones if it is so useful?
I keep getting this error when I type the code in, any help?

Thanks, I enabled this yesterday . Question if this uses 3G for phone calls does it affect HD calls or HD calls are also on 3G connections?
I just went through the hidden menu on the H815 model - couldn't find any setting akin to fast dormancy. I can assume then that this is strictly for the T-Mobile variant?

No mobile data on LTE

Hi,
I have a problem with my LG G3. I can't connect to mobile data, while network is connected to LTE. On LOS 14.1 everything is working fine. But on any stock ROM (v21a, v21c, v30b, v30d, v30n) phone is connected to LTE, but mobile data doesn't work. On CDMA only I have mobile data through 3G+ or H+. Reflashing through LG UP or flashtool doesn't help. Any suggestions? On custom ROMs LTE is working flawlessly, so it is clearly software issue.
Also enabling or disabling fast dormancy didn't help.
I found that the Access Point Name (APN) defined for my carrier on the phone didnt work. I had to manually define it - after which mobile data worked.
The simple answer is - some or all LTE bands are disabled. You have to enable it. To enable it:
1) go to play store and download "Network signal guru".
2) open the app with an active internet connection.
3)tap on the 3 dots on the top right corner.
4) tap on band locking.
5) tap on lte.
6) select all lte bands. Done.
No reboot required. If the network bars still don't show up, then reboot your phone.
Also make sure that you have the proper APN.
I have the same problem. I want to fix it without root.

All LG phones come with a hidden menu. To enable lte bands there. If it still doesn't work, try resetting network settings.
I bought an LG G3 about 6 months ago. Everything was great and everything was working until I rooted and changed ROMs to Fulmics ROM 5.6. I got back to stock (30b Global), because I didn't like it and I discovered that my LTE isn't working. Like I mean GSM/WCDMA provides me Internet but only (H and 3G), but when I switch to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto it doesn't even try to connect to the internet. I flashed cyanogen 13, and other AOSP roms and guess what?! I had LTE. So then I thought, that if i have it on custom roms, i need to have it on the stock one. So I flashed about 5 versions of the stock rom and still no luck.
I still have guarantee, but will they do something else then reflashing the stock?
I've also messed about in the Hidden Menu with those fixes that I found on XDA Forums, but still.. No luck at all.
I really want to have fast internet (My carrier supports LTE, and on the box from the phone it has "LTE" on it. Is it possible to be a hardware problem or software? It's soo slow that I can't even upload this.
Also is there any way of fixing this issue without Root?

I'm assuming that you have full network bars and you only cannot access the internet.
Accessing hidden menu comes in use ONLY when no network bars are appearing after changing from GSM/HSPA to LTE and it also requires root.
If you ONLY cannot access the internet but have full network bars after changing to LTE, you have to change the APN in settings. APNs are carried specific, so they differ from carrier to carrier. APNs act like a gateway between the phone and the internet. So, APNs are necessary in order to use the internet.
To get your APN, open Google and search "apn settings for [carrier name] 4g"

First try claiming a replacement for your sim card. If it still doesn't work, ask for a replacement for ur phone itself.
With new SIM card the problem still exists.

T-Mobile help

I need your help guys and gals. Just switched to T-Mobile and my wife is the only one having issues. I had the phone unlocked and it does work but intermittently. The data will stop working at random even with correct apn settings. Sometimes the 4g lte indicator will be there sometimes not. Restart sometimes fixes, searching available network helps as well. Any help would be appreciated.
Mod please move to question. Put it in wrong place. Thanks.

Here is the settings above (link straight from t-mobile)
Also just an FYI in case that doesn't work... there has been issues with 7.0 active on t-mobile
Flash back to 6.0.1 (no root needed) and then set apn settings. However don't do that unless for sure your still having issues after going through everything else.
I have set all the apn settings. She is running 7.0, I will try 6 when she gets home.
Try this

This is not "S7 Active" specific issue. It is overall S7 issue on Android 7.0. You don't need to downgrade to 6.0.1. Just delete all the APNs (make it EMPTY!) -> Restart phone -> Add APN -> Restart. Problem solved.

If you get poor LTE coverage on T-mobile, you should switch to 4G instead. That way, you'll get better reception + you'll save little bit of battery life.
Dial *#*#4636#*#* on your phone dialer -> 'Device Information' -> 'Set Preferred Network Type:' -> Select 'WCDMA preferred' or 'Global auto (PRL)'
I used to get 1 bar on LTE, now I'm getting full coverage on UMTS. I'm on MINT SIM (they are T-mobile MVNO).
