[Q] Debrand e975

Hi. To start, let me state that I am a noob to android.
Now, I purchased an e975 where it should be unbranded. But it was with Starhub Singapore. Bought from US and I am in Europe.
So, I am trying to find a way to debrand the phone. Flashing a valid LG rom would be ok too, but I cannot find any post stating if there is a way to do this and how.
Bottom line, I will return the phone but that would mean some delay I am trying to avoid.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Push thanks is i helped
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Unlock-a...740?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item257c0d4674
Thanks, but this is not the case. The device is not locked. It's branded. It's full of useless carrier specific apps and logos that can't be removed.
- root, unlock and install a custom rom
- use an kdz image from here for your phone model:

Thanks, I'm very glad to know that this CAN be done... I have a ROM downloaded since before I posted here... All I need now is to find out how to do it .
Does this link apply?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344
this is not for optimus g.
please read the threads for the correct phone model
Well, I've seen a bunh of posts and threads describing stuff, but I'm getting more and more lost trying to follow links and trying to depict points from any next post...
The best match I've managed to find is an article about unbricking a phone... This appears like a reasonable procedure for changing rom to a device...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624
Sorry for being so persistent, but I am not confident enough to start a procedure if I can't know that it is the correct procedure to be followed.. Shouldn't there be something like a wiki article with a step-by-step procedure from a to z on how to flash a kdz, from rooting to wiping to flashing to booting?

I have used the method in the link you posted at least 10 times. Never failed. Make sure you have the proper kdz.

I'll make sure, thanks... I've downloaded a file named E97510B_00.kdz, roughly 1GB. I've picked the one for Greece, from a list on
lg-phone-firmware dot com (sorry, can't post links yet )
Having an e975, I suppose this list is good for me... I'll stick to low letters (A,B) for starters and I'll see what I shall do next.
Unless something goes terribly wrong, I won't be posting back on this thread. Thank you all guys for the assistence...:laugh:

We both have the same problem. We both have partition error and unable to boot the phone and causes the hardware to malfunction. We also don't have IMEI which I used the lgflashtool and stated null. So we have to wait for a really good solution to unbrick this hardbricked phone

[Q] Running out of ideas...

Hey guys.
I'm desperate for some help with my LG G PAD 8.3 tablet.
All i simply want to do is put cyanogen mod ROM on the device, and I can't believe how difficult it is proving to do.
I have been all over the internet and spent around 4 days researching in to the whole process and every time I follow various online steps, guides and you tube videos i end up putting the tablet in to a software brick and then have to use the LG recovery tool to get the tablet working again. It's driving me insane!
So first of all i rooted the tablet using towel root. I then get a message saying that the device is rooted. I then download the super su app and that goes fine. I then try to get TWRP or CWM on to the device so i can back up the current running operating system and it's down hill from this point. The device reboots and comes up with:
Secure booting Error!
Cause : boot certification verify
it's happened 4 times to me now. I just can't figure out how to get this device doing what I want it to do. I see loads of videos and success stories of people having no problems getting cyanogen mod on to the LG tablet so what do i do? Is there someone that can provide a detailed step by step instruction to get this right?
i'm at the point of just giving up on it and being stuck with a poxy horrible LG stock look.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!
Anyone???
If I missed it in your OP, remind me, but what variant model of the 8.3? VK810.4G? V500? V510?
Sent from my VK810 4G
Sorry. Yes it's the v500 variant. I really wanted get this sorted and will appreciate everyone's help.

Maybe I can help you, You can Use This App To Unlock The Bootloader and to put the recovery (TWRP ONLY) Its just need root.
This is not mine But I help him to share this to people who has having problem with bootloader and recovery
Its working both 4.2 and 4.4
LINK:https://app.box.com/LGGPADRECOVERYTWRP
Thanks. Can you tell me what I do with this app? What order do I do things when I have installed it in the tablet?
Ignore this comment - I've worked it out. Will report back with my findings. Thank you so far!
Same problem

I totally messed everything up (stuck with brick)

I am an idiot..
Long story short my LG-D852 RGS is showing as an LG-D857 in LG FlashTool and I am unable to flash the correct rom as I keep getting an error message:
"Download fail!! Device model is different"
I somehow flashed my D852 to a D857 while messing around, and now I can not find any way to recover to factory.
Anyone have any solutions that can rescue me from this bricked phone?! PLEASE
If you want some good help to recover your phone go to this thread and ask for help or ask even if it is possible since you flashed the wrong ROM.

Yes I actually agree with that.
Here is the link to that thread which is actually closed but the OP of this thread here can have a good read and perhaps Google for the software to download.

I actually fixed it using a modified .DLL file that bypassed the model mismatch so I used it with the stock bell 5.0.1 and LG flash tool and it finally worked

Very glad you got it sorted. Another success story!
I am confident this phone is basically unbrickable, much like other LG devices I've had in the past

That doesn't help anyone to understand what went wrong.
Follow all the steps again and explain properly where did you get stuck and at which step you had to stop.
