I tried multiple times to use it, and each time it stops because it can't connect to it's server like if it was down. The twitter for the dev si gone too.

Just tried LGUP. Says I'm not on a known model(Canada H812). And for Flash tool, it completely stops the program once I get the error so I can't do my disney princess and "just let it go" :crying:
Lg flash tool stops probably because of marshmallow (101%)

Drop back a firmware version. Or factory reset. Usually does the trick.. A ballache I know, but it'll probably fix it.

well most problems are caused by people trying to upgrade(who don't want to lose apps and data). and the kdz method is for some to hard
but if you insist:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54809238&postcount=151
I got g via the normal OTA method.
Weirdly today after doing nothing to fix it, the freezing hadn't happened once! Very odd

Np, we agree, reading instructions is problematic for some. Searching too ...
About that changing hardware when there's a problem with software - we can blame companies as much as users, if not more. They're actually the ones suggesting hardware repair/change, just because they're too lazy to bother with software.
OnePlus is kinda good here, they at least try reinstalling ROM via remote session before resorting to service.
Anyways, it's good to have all necessary software for unbricking publicly available
and I'm wandering into offtopic ...

Have never had bootloop issues, until yesterday. Verizon pushed a 29a security update. Updated, continued to use the phone - and then it rebooted and is now stuck in bootloop. I was able to get in to safe mode menu screen, but when i chose safe mode, it rebooted and now i can't get back to the safe mode menu screen.
I need to get some very valuable data off of this phone, and then i dont care what happens to it after that. HELP - please. It's irreplaceable media.
There are thousands of ways how to temporarily fix G4 bootloop just to get files from it. Check general or YouTube for detailed how-to do that

I'm on gigabit fiber. I think it's their server.
Not sure why you'd be getting such better speeds, but I can guarantee that it's not my download speed that's the problem.

I'm at work and the internet is slow here so I'm using my mobile hotspot. I started it about a half hour ago and it's at 75 percent. Almost there.

Hard pass, multiple old entries and people saying older files are compatible with newer phones. I'll wait.
It used to be where you could download an update, put it at the root of your phone, reboot to recovery and manually install. Does that not work anymore?
I'll be updating once i get home..good news

If it's a KDZ, flash it with LGUP. Connect phone to your PC. Install LGUP.
See files attached to post #1 of this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/us998-lg-v30-market-us998-t3736910/page11
Read the instructions "Here's how to flash." You'll use the KDZ you just downloaded here.

I just wanted to say thanks. I tried using LG Bridge, but that wasn't working. After some digging to get LG UP working, it flashed perfectly (other than my inability to choose "upgrade" over "refurbish" - but that's on me).
Anyway... Thanks for the upload.
I just got the ota notification this morning, updating it and bricked the damn thing.
Phone wasn't rooted, rebranded or anything, straight OTA messed it up. It boots straight to erecovery, and nothing can be done with it. Hisuite don't work either

thats what I ended up doing, still trying though
The update just became available to me tonight on public mobile. Im going to try to take it tonight maybe. I know when i downloaded it from firmware finder before it actually became approved, it wasnt the size it said it should have been when it finished downloading. Im wondering if it is corrupt. It's C792 for Kirin 970. I also dont see it on androidhost.
Ok so i took the update through software update app built into the phone and everything went fine. Seems like the phone may even be a tad snappier. Still no expandable notifications though.
