Have never had bootloop issues, until yesterday. Verizon pushed a 29a security update. Updated, continued to use the phone - and then it rebooted and is now stuck in bootloop. I was able to get in to safe mode menu screen, but when i chose safe mode, it rebooted and now i can't get back to the safe mode menu screen.
I need to get some very valuable data off of this phone, and then i dont care what happens to it after that. HELP - please. It's irreplaceable media.
There are thousands of ways how to temporarily fix G4 bootloop just to get files from it. Check general or YouTube for detailed how-to do that

I googled your problem. It looks like LG is rather dickish about debloating.
You might have to wait until some brick fix via ODIN is out

Maybe its possible for you to re-install the .apk's using push from adb...
download & install latest usb driver
download & insatall LG Mobile Support Tool
remove the battery from the phone
while pressing volume down button connect the usb cable and wait (about 10 seconds) in this mobe until SW upgarde is displayed on the phone
insert the battery back
perform a SW update via LG Mobile Support Tool
I don't have the optimus G but this helped me with other lg phone ; maybe will help you also
If the above metod don't work they are also other metods to try

My guess is uninstalled with root explorer because when he factory reset it should of repushed them if they were still on the system.
Yeah, I uninstalled them. I also tried the LG Mobile Support Tool, all a no go. Sucks, I really like the phone, more so than my Galaxy S3. Just have to be patient and hope a someone finds a solution.

Go to AT&T and replace it lol still got 14 days
Can you access adb?
Couldn't access adb either after this happened, could before. I did solve the problem although I feel a little guilty how I did it since I know it is totally my fault. I returned it, said I was using the LG update software on my desktop and said it got half through the update and our power went out and it wouldn't boot after that. If the earlier post hadn't reminded me that AT&T no longer has a 30 return I would have waited it out in hopes of a solution, but I'm going on a business trip and won't be back before the 14 days are up. Thanks for all the help and ideas, this time I'll just remove the AT&T crap and not any Google stuff.

if it was me I'd unscrew the back and take it out as long as it is not marked by a sticker or something it shouldn't void the warranty
read thoroughly " I WOULD DO IT" it's not a suggestion for anyone to do it, I'm just saying what's on my mind
I can verify that freezing, with TB, certain DRM-related apps will cause this problem too.
Sprint doesn't have the images from LG required to restore the device yet, and the guy at the store tried to take it apart to get the battery out so now all the glue is unstuck from the back glass and it's squeaky. I'm waiting on a replacement from them now. :-|

From what I saw of the Sprint guy's efforts they filled the thing with glue. I guess that's why it feels so solid

I accidentally formatted everything from my phone. I was in CWM and I formatted everything, and now I basically do not have anything on my phone at all. After the LG boot up logo, the phone goes blank. I'm able to go into download mode. I tried following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2420219, I keep getting failed previousload() a few seconds after clicking the top left yellow icon in LG flash tool. Anyone have any idea whats going on or how to fix this? LG E988.

Hi I didn't find it in one particular section, I had to search everywhere, i spent a good 8 hours straight searching as I really needed my phone to work. I will try my best to start you off though.
I started here.

Watched this.

That's basically all you have to do. I did, however, run into plenty of issues along the way which is what took up all if not most of the 8 hours. What I did was google each and every issues that occured and I always found answers to it (with some added trial and error).
Here are some of the issues I faced while sideloading that you or your friend may come across.
''device not found''
''cannot read file''
Both of which can easily be solved by googling. I hope I guided you in the right path, feel free to pm me if you need anymore help.

So I just rooted my Verizon G3. Everything was going smoothly, I rooted fine. Downloaded an app to uninstall bloatware.
Then, I came across a list on here of possible things to disable. On this list it was called com.lge . I uninstalled it. And I KNEW I should have not uninstalled it for some reason in the back of my mind, but I did anyway.
As soon as I uninstalled it, bam. All kinds of stuff went haywire and now, all my phone is doing is loading and reloading the Verizon start up screen, over, and over, and over, and over. I've tried to Safe Mode, i've tried a factory data reset and everything. Nothing is working. The phone is caught in this endless loop.
Any ideas what to do?
Thanks ALOT!!

That was a hell of a lot easier. Right the Flash software is showing PASS! And my phone has a blue screen that says Factory Reset Status and then a big letter 3. Nothing else is going on...should I reset the phone?

You read my mind.....
Why on earth would you just start deleting system apk's if you have no idea what they are?:what:
On top of that we don't have a boot loader unlock or workaround IE Loki .. So there fore no CWM or TWRP recovery to bail u out of a jam...
Your only option it a complete restore...

KillSwitch
Three different ways that I found to get rid of the KillSwitch
Through deactivating and then reactivating your google account/s.
Using the Hard Brick Recovery method.
Octopus/Octoplusbox.
Explanation
The one I actually tried was the Hard Brick Recovery Method (WillCracker), but
even after that I was still unable to bypass the KillSwitch. So I went back BoardDiag and decided to flash the System, UserData, and Cache since I still couldn't get into download mode.
After about 5-6 hours it was completed. I try booting up download mode and guess what?! KillSwitch is still there xD. I'm absolutely fustrated now and all I could think of is to flash the rest of the files that the HBRM didn't say anything about.
I started flashing in this order: Modem, Misc, Persist, and RCT. Everything is now flashed and I hope everything worksout.
I turn on the phone, waiting patiently. Bootloop over and over again, but guess what?! I tried download mode one last time before I was going to go ape $h!t. Then to my surprise the download mode screen turned on, I used the LG Flash Tool and I am now killswitch free.
KillSwitch did come back after a few updates, but I was able to enter in a pin code allowing me in the future to turn it off at will
Well thank you all for listening, just wanted to share my experience.
as my first post, I do apologize in advance if this is the wrong area for this.
Keep on keeping on xD
Can you tell me the exact order you flashed the phone using boardiag? Thanks in advance!

Im looking for advice as my brothers LG G4 is no longer working. My brother passed away in May of this year and no one is aware of the draw pattern to unlock the phone. I attempted to use an online tool called Dr.Fone to take the passcode off, however this didnt work. The firmware update screen froze and nothing would move so i removed the battery to restart it. On restarting it, the screen began to change colour and the touchscreen wouldnt work, although it takes you to the draw pattern screen. Im at a loss with what to do, as I cant loose the data on the phone and a hard reset isnt an option. If theres an suggestions id be grateful.

Backing up your data can be done with DLM backup (check my sig)!
Removing the screen lock is possible in TWRP if you have it.. If not its maybe possible in download mode but this requires Linux or best FWUL (check my sig) as here all tools needed already included!
Depending on what you have i can share details but first i need to know :
Do you have TWRP and so your device is unlocked?
Do you have Linux AND do you have the knowledge to use it? If you can't answer BOTH with "yes" download FWUL first.
sfX
Il be honest that i have absolutely no idea what they are. Im not technically savvy when it comes to phones and things of the sort.
As far as i can explain, the touchscreen wont work and anytime you press the home button the screen lights up, but you cant actually use it. Im not sure if the term bricked applies as it sounds potentially along those lines?
Id probably need a step by step to sort it without getting to the point of being unable to salvage it.
