If you check the forums loads of people have mentioned the settings apk does not work on the AFTV2, also I think you may need a Usb keyboard I am using the Logitech k900 plus but at first it wouldn't work, after unchecking Usb debugging the keyboard & Usb socket starting working again. Don't think you can use the bluetooth keyboard with it? Have you tried going into settings & the section with controllers keyboards & devices & tried pairing it in there? Are you using the bluetooth dongle as well? I have a compatible apps & accessories section for the AFTV2 in this forum but don't think I have any bluetooth devices listed as working?
Check here for compatible apps & accessories - http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/help/aftv2-best-compatible-apps-accessories-t3269267
Hope this helps If so press that thanks button

With Windows 7 I am unable to transfer/receive files over bluetooth with Defy. Have tested with Windows XP it works fine. If anyone have a solution for this please share.
Note:- Mods - I couldn't find any topic specific to this issue hence created a new thread. If required please merge it.
Try bluetooth file transfer app from market. Although both native pair and using this app work for me in Win7 sometimes i have to use the app ^ to get things going. Also delete your pc from bluetooth settings, delete the device from device manager in win7, try to pair them again. As win7 has so many issues with drivers, it's a common error. Also make sure the bluetooth adaptor driver (if any came with it) is installed properly /last version and not some Win7 generic driver instead.
Hope i helped and it works.

I too have some issues with the bluetooth. The speed seems to be very slow. Also when sending multiple files most of them fail. I've tried sending files to different phones. Same issue.

Keyboard Problem
Lopes,
Your answer is on other forums (if you have not already solved it). You need to access the android market via your pc and download a keyboard .apk file to your computer, then transfer to your kindle via usb. After installing a new keyboard app on your device the problem should disappear. I suggest something like GoKeyboard.
Thanks very much !!!
I did it..... Now everything is working!!!
Very nice system!!

Hi mates,I was trying to find a way to control my laptop via my android phone and i came across this. This app is really great and its free too.Just try this app and find out.You can also buy the paid version and can do almost everyting on your pc through your device.just head to the links below and experience it.Before installing the apk make sure you have installed the server on your PC.you must have a LAN connected PC and an android device connected to the same network through WIFI.

If you look at the first post in that thread there are APK attachments of the app.
see if you have usb debugging enabled and disable it. (the choice below enable adb)
Is anyone able to get sideload AirDroid onto there Amazon FireTV Stick (non-rooted)? I always get DEXOPT error or something like that during the actual install process. From what little reading I did it looks like its due to android SDK version apk was made with and version SDK that is installed on fire stick or something.
Thanks,
~SG

Have you tried pushing it to the sdcard and just installing it manually?
Side note-what are you trying to do? Push notifications and texts to the AFTV?
I mainly use it to view and control the screen of many of my android based devices as well as the camera in most of my android devices over the internet. Yes i have tried manually installing via adb command but always get the same error.

I just got it working... by downloading and sideloading the latest version in rev 3 (3.2.6) from here: airdroid(DOT)en(DOT)uptodown(DOT)com/android/old.
Out of the box, it works fine for transferring files through wifi (which can also be done with ES File Explroer easily). It also works as a keyboard input and screen mirror when USB connected to PC.
HOWEVER, there are several options for AirDriod that can only be enabled through the Firestick interface, and, at least for me, cannot actually be accessed (like it wants touchscreen input typically found on phones).
Overall, I'm missing the benefit of having it running in it's current state. ES File Explorer does file transfer fine. I can't really see the application of screen mirror and keyboard control when it must be plugged in to my pc. It's pretty useless in t's current form, imho.
Update: Also, since it's an outdated version, it will not work over the web portal.
