Hey guys I have a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition SMP-600 and the lollipop update has been out for a while now, but I haven't updated because I had TWRP recovery, and just yesterday I flashed the stock recovery in hopes of updating to 5.1.1 via OTA, everything went fine until I entered recovery, in the middle of the update process it says error and reboots, and prompts me to update via kies. So I was wondering if I have to unroot to be able to update to 5.1.1 or I was doing something wrong. So please help me thanks:laugh:
P.S I have knox disabled with titanium backup

Just follow this direction to flash 5.1.1 stock rom and do root. You should be fine. Power off the device, then Just hold down vol down, home and power button to boot to Odin (download mode) then follow the direction to flash and root. Don't let that error message scare you.

No, you just use Odin to flash factory rom, no need to unroot. Just follow the link,

Thanks for the clear up, but I have slow internet connection, and the samfirmware downloader tool takes forever, so I was wondering if you have the 5.1.1 firmware, could you possibly upload it to mega, or mediafire, because on the sammobile website you can't use IDM without premium, so the downloads are SUPER SLOW, but you can use IDM on mega, and mediafire so it would download 5x faster, so if you could possibly upload the 5.1.1 stock firmware to mega, or mediafire that would be greatly appreciated.
p.s my device region code is XAR

1. Download your stock rom from SamMobile,
2. Put your phone in download mode
3. Open ODIN and flash the stock firmware.
You will be unrooted, but all stock apps, including FlipBoard, will be present.
Side Note: I do believe you can download Flipboard from Google Play

The one from July is more recent, so I would download and flash it. (UCALG1)
If you want some advice, always download the most recent firmware from your carrier based on date.

I was attempting to root my Samsung S3 lite SM-T110 I installed clockworkmod
and applied android-armeabi-universal-root-signed. However when I select reboot system now
it comes back to clockworkmod, my understanding and correct me if I wrong is that I wiped the system entirely.
So now it seems I need the stockrom that comes with this device, can someone please tell me where can I obtain this?
Or how to fix this issue.

when you have installed clockwork mod, do a nandroid backup 1st before proceeding to root
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36cihz4l-vk
Once you have created a backup then you can resume by applying the Root Zip Package
when you are done installing, reboot the device.
Now head on over to the google play store and download a root checker
install this app follow the onscreen directions and your device should say it's rooted.
Now you can do whatever keep it stock or install other roms etc..I kept mine stock for now
but have added other apps.

If I understand you correctly, your Galaxy Tab 8.0 is currently on 4.4.2 - either NE9 or NG1. You tried to use ODIN and flash the MK1 (4.2.2), but it failed.
Firstly, I haven't downgraded modem or the whole firmware myself on my Galaxy Tab 3, but I did it for my Galaxy S4 phone. It requires that you flash it twice. Here is what I would do.
1. Go back to SamMobile, and download the Kitkat firmware that you currently have (NE9 or NG1). Use ODIN to flash it and make sure that ODIN is working. This serves as your safety net; i.e., whenever things go wrong, you know you can at least bring your tablet back to a working state.
2. Now try to downgrade just the modem (not the entire firmware).
Read Post #19 on this page. This is what you need to do for "flashing the modem twice with ODIN".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/modem-4-4-2-i337mumufne3-t2815999/page2
To get your own modem.bin file, you need to extract it from the md5 file:
- find the MK1 md5 file you downloaded from SamMobile earlier,
- unzip it, and you will see the modem.bin file
3. Finally, use ODIN to flash the entire firmware (MK1 md5).
Proceed at your own risk.
Good luck.

Try this:
GalaxyTab3 Toolkit v1.1
Get the TWRP recovery installed on your GTab, then flash the GalaTab ROM. It's not hard, it just seems like it from some of the failures and horror stories.
I'm no expert, but I'll try to describe what to do. NOTE: There may be other ways to do it, but this is what I did.
Do you have a recovery (TWRP or CWM) on your tab? If not, that's the first thing you need to do. You are going to need to install Kies, Odin and then the Toolkit.
Note: TWRP works with the GalaTab ROM, and it's fairly simple to use. Install TWRP so we are all on the same page.
Lots of stuff, but the goal is to get a recovery on your Tab. Once all this is installed, start the Toolkit and connect your Tab to the PC. The Toolkit has great instructions, so follow those.
Once you have done all of that and you have a working recovery, get the GalaTab ROM onto your Tab and flash away.
Get a recovery onto your Tab first, and the rest is easy. Try just getting a recovery working and post your results and we'll go from there.
Note: This is for the SM-T310 only!

Sorry, I don't speak French or Turkish!
I found this on the Samsung ROM page:
Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 SM-T310 TUR T310XWUAMG3 Android 4.2.2 23.07.2013 1174257 Unlock Download File
I'm assuming that will be in Turkish from the start. It SHOULD be the ROM that would come stock on a GTab 3 purchased in Turkey.
Is it a language barrier causing trouble flashing your tablet? Perhaps we could try screen caps to help. Wish I could be more helpful.

I don't know Turkish either. You can try translating using Google. Copy and paste the following text at the following website:

I agree with Tromatic. If you are still having problems, forget custom ROM or recovery, just go back to factory using ODIN. But...
Since you already have a French ROM with 4.4.2, you need to use a Turkish ROM in 4.4.2. Unfortunately, the only Turkish ROM available on SammMobile is 4.2.2 ROM (which Tromatic kindly provided a link above). It is unclear whether we can flash a ROM with an older version using ODIN. So you need to try it and find out.
Flashing of factory ROM is best done using ODIN. To begin, you need to make sure that ODIN is working.
You need a Windows computer, with the proper Samsung driver installed. Also search and download Odin 3.09, and have it ready to run.
The Turkish 4.2.2 ROM is linked in the post above by Tromatic. Download that.
To use ODIN, follow this guide:
http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-tutorials/how-to-unroot-galaxy-s4-and-remove-root-completely/
Step 1. Power off your tablet and hold down Volume Down, Center Home, and Power button together for about 5 seconds.
Step 2. When you see the warning screen, hit Volume Up button to enter ODIN Download mode.
Step 3. Connect a micro-USB cable from your tablet to your computer.
Step 4. Download and run ODIN 3.09 program.
Step 5. Unzip the stock firmware, you should find a file ending in “tar.md5″. That is the stock firmware you will flash using ODIN.
Step 6. DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE but hit the PDA button, select the stock firmware “tar.md5″ file and hit “Start” button. That’s it. This should take around 5-10 minutes. If you get stuck right after hitting “Start” button, try another USB port and turn off Kies in Task Manager.
Step 7. When done successfully, you will see “PASS!” and your tablet will reboot.
If for some reason, you get “FAIL!” during the ODIN flashing process, simply reboot your tablet into ODIN download mode and try again. Also, if you see some type of “Firmware error” during boot, just try running ODIN in that mode, that’s same as ODIN download mode.
Step 8. Once rebooted, your tablet should be fully back to stock firmware.
Step 9. If for some reason, your tablet doesn’t boot up or you want to erase EVERYTHING on your internal storage and the phone for returning for warranty, you can do a factory reset using stock recovery.
Power off your phone (or pull battery) and hold down Volume Up, Center Home, and Power buttons together.
Step 10. Keep holding down Volume Up and Center Home buttons but let go of Power button.
Step 11. Once in stock recovery, choose “wipe data/factory reset”.
Step 12. Choose “delete all user data”. WARNING! This will ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE!
Step 13. Once done, reboot system.
Step 14. Once rebooted, you should find your Galaxy S4 completely back to Day 1 you got the phone, congrats!
If you are not successful in flashing the 4.2.2 Turkish ROM, go back and flash the French 4.4.2 ROM.
You can download the French 4.4.2 ROM from here:
http://samsung-updates.com/details/30982/Galaxy_Tab_3_8.0/SM-T310/XEF/T310XXUBNG1.html
Repeat the above steps, but use the different ROM file.
Hello XDA,
I am looking to update my Tab S to Lollipop. Problem is, I rooted it almost a year ago and do not know the method in which I did it. I'm guessing without knowing any other information, my best best bet would be downloading 5.0.2 from Sammobile (currently doing so) and using Odin 3.09? Is this the easiest way?
Also, if I'm located in the USA, what region do I want to use for the download? I didn't see anything that applied to me, so I picked an unknown region. Is there something else I should be looking for?

The quickest way would be to use Samsung Kies. The download is quicker but it installs immediately so you don't get to keep the download.
EDIT: Also the US region is called Cellular South.

Is that what Smart Switch Mobile is? Do you happen to have a link for a short guide? And will I still need to download the stock firmware when using Kies?
And thanks for clearing up the region question.
http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/#none
Use the link to download Kies, install, connect tablet to pc and open Kies. From there you'll know what to do. No guide necessary. No need to download the firmware either. Kies is automated once you select upgrade.
EDIT: There are two versions of Kies. Grab Kies3.

I have downloaded the stock ROM from some Russian web site which then directed me to some Google drive, a 1.6GB download, in my case SEE-T805XXU1BOD1-20150511102748.zip
I then used Odin to flash it - Select BL for "T805XXU1BOG2_bootloader.tar.md5" (stock bootloader) and AP for "T805XXU1BOD1_T805OXX1BOD1_T805XXU1BOD3_HOME.tar.md5" (stock ROM)
I believe that the above procedure works under almost all circumstances, root or no.
I then made plenty of backups with TWRP so that I do not have to use Odin anymore, I simply restore the stock ROM from backup (plus I get all my applications and system as I want it rather than having to re-do everything from scratch each time).
And just to say that all the OSes I have downloaded so far, they all had problems, so I end up restoring the stock ROM within hours of installing a new OS.

Well, I flashed my stock Note 5 rom over to the MM leak and now I'm stuck with it till the official release is out and I can flash back to stock and receive the latest official updates as they come out.
What happened was I wiped the drive and then flashed the lower # official roms and all it did was bootloop or just wouldn't flash the version at all and would just give me an error while trying to flash.

my phone stiil blocked on recovery mode after mm 8.0 download with dm-verity verification failed. Chek drk first i can try this ?
I flashed backed to 5.1.1, I left my phone sitting with wifi enabled, sprint downloaded the 6.0.1 update and gave me no choice but to install it again. I had no way to back out of it. I put 5.1.1 on my phone twice today and it keeps sending me to MM. Is there a way to flash back to 5.1.1 and disable OTA without rooting the phone..? if not then you really can't go back because Sprint will force the update to your phone.
i guess there should be an option in setting/update for you to uncheck the "update".

Rolling back is as simple as using ODIN and flash the stock rom, I rooted 6.0.1 and its starting to grow on me but I can flash back to stock 5.1.1 even if I was not rooted, I only root because like you I need tether and so far this was the only way on 6.0.1 MM
Man oh man, I thought I broke my charging port the day after I rooted. I was about to cry myself to sleep for the next 2 months.
Going to MM
Should I use this to go back to stock and then take the OTA to get to the latest firmware? Or would it be a better idea to download the current firmware from Sammobile?

I can't say if it actually works as I live in the US and my phone is not unlocked, but it seems to have helped others.
Here a link for the latest stock TAR files: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862

This is a very old thread. That error means that your phone has updated to a software version of 6 or 7 and you can't revert back to 5.

More accurately, it means that your bootloader version is 4, and you can't flash anything lower.
But no, you can't go back to Android 5
