Please can some one explain what are the different power saving modes on Asus Fonepad 7 Me175cg (K00Z) running android 4.3
I can see Ultra/Optimised/Cutomized mode
Please can someone explain the different between them
Do they reduce the CPU frequency or only affect screen brightness and wifi
How exactly do they help?
just what it says AFAIK ultra reduces perfomance of processor so that battery last longer.

Hi!
I recently installed PowerTutor on CM7 nightly from yesterday. An app to display the power consumption in mA. Now I recognized some strange behaviour.
First I measured the power consumption with display on highest power. ->700mA
Second I measred with lowest power. -> 350mA
then I switched on auto-brightness. -> 350mA
When I switch on auto-brightness after having the display on highest power it uses 700mA.
Can anybody confirm this?
Thanks for your answers!
I'we noticed it too
After a clean install i always set the brightness level to lowest value and then activate auto brightness and it is ok.
I did this even on a samsung Galaxy s - Custom ROM 2.3.3 and it keeps batery from quickly draining.
I'll try it out on an original Defy and post results here. If it's a CM7 bug, I'm gonna post it on github.
Anybody else having noticed this?
Hi, i noticed this also after installing the cm7.1.
I found this issue from the battery usage info. On previous versions the highest consumption was from the cell stdby and idle phone, and in this version about 80% os the display
Exactly the same values, any solutions... Display eat so much more power compare to stock 2.2, but why... I want to try some tips about to decrease display consumption
I have reproduced the problem...but I think it is due to the way power tutor misestimates LCD power draw, not an actual of LCD power usage. See post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17674701&postcount=11806
and the few posts above...

The Defy doesnt have any reporting measurement in the Battery driver, this means we cant see how many mA are actually being consumed.
Doesnt matter if it is Froyo, Cm7 or MIUI, the Driver just doesnt provide the info to the OS. All we can use are Voltage readings and estimations.
What does power saver do ??? like it uses only 2 cores..or what ?
i think downcloak cpu also in 1.3 Mhz.
Underclocks to like 1GHz, limits fps and controls wifi and gsm radio to save power.
also says the lowers the brightness..but my brightness stay at the same level..and also..connection data and other things ARE the same :-s.
Perhaps it is designed to be unnoticeable and it's doing good job at it.
Sent from my HTC One X
Haptic feedback also gets turned off.
Power-saving mode existed before in all androids, but the new Ultra Power Saving Mode can keep the phone running 24 hours on 10 percent battery, according to Samsung's claim.
Does any N7105 rom have this feature ? ( i am using CM-REMIX rom seems like no this feature)
The Ultra Power Saving Mode let the screen only output black and white to saving the battery.
It is a good feature for us to use. Please tell me if there is a n7105 rom have this feature.
Thank you very much .!
Hey peeps,
Do the saving modes on Zenfone 2 actually make a difference? It seems to me that Performance mode (runs on 2.3 Ghz) and Normal Mode (runs on 1.8 Ghz) use around the same amount of juice (at least that's how it looks when I look at on screen time) and the last ones (Power Saving and Super Saving) only have network disable turned off, compared to Performance and Normal.
Did anyone test this?
Hy guys .. can anyone tell me is any ultra power saving mod is available for one plus 3 or not like samsung galaxy s6 type of.. or how can save battery other then the stock power saving mode...
:good: thanks in advance
In OOS, you will find the standard battery saving mod. Use less mobile data and more Wi-Fi, control the sync duration, use medium brightness etc. these could help you with battery life. For me, this is the best battery life i have seen in any phone i have used.
I think its called turning off the phone.
