Power Menu reboot options for stock rom? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have minimal root and/or custom rom needs. I mostly just want to disable tethering checks, use adaway and have the reboot options in the power menu enabled.
I use the new chain fire systemless root, and I know how to add text to the build.prop file to disable tethering. Is there any way to enable reboot options to the power menu without installing an app or custom rom?
I am aware of Xposed modules, but gravity box power menu options don't seem to work like they used to.
I really like the way it is provided in Chroma, but I have found my battery life is far better on stock than custom rom. (though I'm probably doing something wrong)
thanks for the advice!

What troubles are you having with Gravity Box? The extra reboot options are working fine for me.

I'm not sure, they just aren't working for me. Everything else in GB does, but the power menu items just don't appear. I can only get the stock power off option.

[Guide] Get Camera Access on Stock 4.4 Secured Lock Screen

Hi,
Not sure if this is will be of any use to anyone, but just putting it out there.
I personally want to use my pattern password lock, but be able to to quick access camera. Since upgrading to 4.4 I haven't found any apps or mods that let me doit on root stock till now.
You'll need to be rooted first.
Install Xposed (you are on rooted stock, you do have this installed right? riiight?)
Combining these two mods got the camera access working.
Unlock effect before security widget

Enable camera on lockscreen

Enable them and reboot. Neither have a UI or any settings to control.
And everything should be working

Disable first Lockscreen and wake up direct to pattern screen

Since update to Lollipop we need to perform two actions (if you use any security lock) to get to your homescreen:
1. swype up
2. enter pattern or pin
In KitKat there was an option to bypass the first screen and wake up the phone direct to the pattern/pin screen.
With Lollipop this option is gone.
Does anyone found an option, a patch or exposed module to bypass the first (notification) screen or can give me a hint how to do so?
I am s-off, rooted and have exposed working with sense toolbox.
Thanks for any hint / advice.
Regards,
Umqi
Gravitybox (xposed module) can do this. It's under lockscreen tweaks, then Direct unlock.

Thanks,
but Gravitybox ist only for AOSP and GPE ROMs, I forgot to say that I am on ARHD 45 which is a close to stock Sense ROM so I'm afraid to try
Reboot in TWRP, make a backup, try it, if it bootloops or breaks bad, restore the backup. I just moved to the GPE MM rom and installed Gravitybox and made all the tweaks that bl*ssr*m gave me. You might be surprised!

Did my NAND, installed, aktivated module, rebooted and tried.
The tweaks I would need in GravityTB are not working. I can change the color of the Blutooth Icon, so I can say installation is ok.
Problem not solved jet....

Is there a way to turn the "Advanced Power Menu" in MIUI (P)?

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to enable the Advanced Power Menu in MIUI 11 on Android P allowing you to quickly reboot to bootloader, fastboot, recovery for instance.
I know I can do that from MIUI update screen or if rooted from Magisk Manager module page, however that option is very handy to quickly reboot to what we want.
That option used to be in the developer options, but it is not there anymore. Maybe it is hidden somewhere?
Or would you know any other way to enable it?
Thanks in advance,
Regards.

So no built-in solution to your knowledge not requiring to use Xposed for it?
Thanks.

No built-in solution AFAIK. You still need a root for that.
There is a magisk module out there that do that thing, but I forget that module.
Or mod your systemui, but that will take some time.
Another alternative is use Reboot Xtream, small apps that do its job. But still, it requires root.

Question What's the perks? Rooting

Last time I rooted my phone it was like the OnePlus 6, but now days these phones are great but I'd still like to root this phone, but I'm unsure of the perks now, back then it just to be xposed modules but xposed was dangerous to use if you installed the wrong thing lol
, So, what's the pros and cons??
Thanks
Ad blocker, certain tasker tasks, franko kernel manager, greenify, root file access, enable call recording, ability to run root terminal commands when needed, for backup apps, etc

[MOD][Xposed+Magisk][13 Compatible] AOSP Mods - System modifications for AOSP-based Android 12+
^ This mod alone is worth it. Otherwise, I like being able to backup app data for apps that don't support Google's built-in cloud backup, using Swift Backup. There are other mods I like as well, like [APP][ROOT][11+][19/07] Classic Power Menu - Power Menu Replacement w/ Wallet, Controls on Android 11, 12, 13+, cutom kernels...
I will root my phone's for as long as it's possible. Unlocking the bootloader alone has so many benefits. It's a lot easier to fix a messed up phone , and why not root?
Privileged access to the entire device? Yes please.
I use a lot of non root features on my phone but having system access with root makes the experience so much more fun if one knows what they're doing
My list that I send anyone who asks this question:
- Use ACCA to extend battery life
- Install the more efficient YouTube Vanced/ReVanced root version and system wide adblockers like AdAway
- Use Insular or Shelter to create 2nd profile without having to manually enter adb commands
- Make full backups without having to use google and even if apps doesn't allow it
- Enable 3rd party stores like F-Droid and Aurora to install apps in the background
- Change build.prop to enable features your manufacturer may has disabled (if not using a custom ROM)
- Access and modify system files (inspect/debug things and change settings that maybe arent visible in the ui)
- Access the portected data of apps (extract keys and other information apps don't want to willingly give or maybe to cheat in games that save their scores locally)
- It's just cool to be god over your system
Being able to doze battery guzzling system apps (gms) and ANY apps u see fit! Have better control of battery resources and charging as well with AccA. And yeah...AOSP Mods module rocks!
