@FPA10: Hi, sometimes, when the RAM of phone gets full, the android wear application force closes and it disconnects the phone. Try to check, if your phone RAM is/ is not full when the BT disconnection occurs.

Can you give a bit more info on when BT disconnects and how you see that it is disconnected?
For instance I happen to know right now there is a version problem on google play music app & wear, where it will tell you the watch is disconnected, when trying to move files to the watch, yet it is connected in the wear app.

I have the same problem. It disconnects at random moments.
It comes up with a question if I want to connect the watch/phone again (where you have confirm the 6 digits code)
At the same time it has dropped the secure device settings to keep my phone unlocked when connected to my phone.
So it really looks like the phone forgets all about the watch...
No issues seen with RAM at the time these issues happen.

Bluetooth not alive when phone is locked?

All,
I have this small issue with my HTC Desire and the Parrot CK3000 Evolution. Until now, everything works perfectly (calling, sending contacts, voice dialing, ending calls,...)
However I have one small issue. When I enter my car, and my phone is locked, the Desire will not pair with the Parrot. From the moment I activate the screen, pairing is done within a few seconds. I already tried to leave it there for half an hour, no pairing, touched the screen, pairing within a few seconds.
It looks to me like the bluetooth is not active / alive when the phone is locked (or in sleep). From the moment the pairing is done, everything works fine, also when the phone is back in lock / sleep.
Anybody has anything similar or has a solution for this? I searched the market for some kind of Bluetooth-keep-alive application, but could not really find it...
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Speedygerre
Small bump, nobody any idea for a solution or somekind of workaround / app?

I have a similar situation with my Audi A5 (factory BT kit).
It will connect when the phone is locked (screen off etc) but it can take anything from 1 to 10 minutes before it does connect.
Like yourself, my Desire connects immediately if the phone is not locked.
Strangely, it appears to work OK in my Mazda MX-5 which has a Kenwood DNX8220BT system (Bluetooth, SatNav, Ipod, coffee maker etc) - and the Bluetooth is a Parrot system. Having said that, I haven't used the MX-5 much since I got my Desire so it might not be a representative sample.
There is definitely something amiss though.
I have a Parrot CK 3100, and whilst I am happy to report that I do not have the same problem as you, I did have a problem syncing my contacts.
Check out this site, and download the software to udate to the latest firmware. You will need a laptop with either built in bluetooth, or a seperate bluetooth dongle.
http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/onlinehelpguides
I updated the firmware on mine, and now my contacts sync properly.
There is a good chance that updating could fix your connection problem as well.
Sorry forgot to add, that updating the kit really is a doddle, but their software is Windows 32bit ONLY and definitely no MAC!
Thans pergolesi, I hope your suggestion workshop, I will try it when I have some time one of the next days.
However I still think it has something to do with the Desire, since syncing workshop perfectly when Desire is not locked...

I don't know about the Bluetooth but I know my wifi deactivates after about 5 minutes when it's locked even though I have it set to never turn off. Maybe the Bluetooth is doing the same.
Perhaps not much help, but I sometimes play music from my Desire on my car headunit using Bluetooth streaming, and that continues to work fine when the screen goes off and the phone is locked. It also still responds to commands from the headunit (skip, pause, etc).
Once it's connected, everything works OK for me as well, it just is the connecting moment which apparently does not always work

Can I ask what year your A5 is? I've got a 2010 A3 and BT doesn't work properly with my Desire I can get it to pair, but then it will disconnect a few minutes later and the only way to reconnect seems to be to unpair/repair or switch the car off/on. When it IS working it can make calls, etc. fine - but I just can't get it to stay connected I tried my Audi dealer but they just said it's not on the Audi list and there's no update to support it, so interested to hear you got it working on your A5.

My A5 is a 2008 model with SatNav and therefore MMI High. The Desire paired straight away with no problems and both the car and the phone remember each other - it just takes awhile sometimes for one or the other to realise it and connect.
I'm pretty certain that it is the phone that has the problem as I had no such problems with several Sony Ericsson phones previously.

Thanks - interesting. I wonder how many different BT stacks Audi run - I was hoping they'd share some common code and therefore be updated quickly but it sounds like this isn't the case given that it's working fine on your A5. Thanks for the info though!

[Q] Moto 360 can't connect to my lenovo phone

Hi guys,
the moto 360 doesnt connects to my phone. I hope someone knows a solution for this problem.
My situation:
The phone is a Lenovo S920 with chinese firmware. It has android 4.4.2 Vibe UI 2.0 and i flashed gapps-micro. the latest version of play services, google search and android wear are installed. Everything works perfect.
The website from google with the wear compatibility check works.
Pairing with the watch works also but it doesnt stay connected, just for a few milliseconds.
With other phones the watch is working and the bluetooth from my phone works with other devices, like speakers or computer.
For me it sounds there is a problem with the bluetooth. Is there a opperntunity to fix this. I'm wearing the watch since two weeks without any functionality. Well, it just does what a watch does, telling me the time
I fixes it. After I installed new firmware on my phone android wear asked for a permission to use bluetooth. But after any disconnection the pop up displays again. It doesnt remember my choice.

Bluetooth bug, new info

There's a bluetooth bug in 7.1.1 and possibly in Nougat in general where a bluetooth device would connect and be in the state "Connected (no phone)."
This prevents the device from making or receiving phone calls or invoking the Google Assistant (but you can still stream music).
Now, this is clearly a bug, and it may or may not show up for different people with different configurations of their software/settings/devices. So, if you don't experience this bug, please keep that in mind.
I have this bug and it annoys the hell out of me. It was not there before 7.1.1 for me personally, but it was for many people with bt car devices. Some have reported the bug being fixed in 7.1.1, so maybe fixing it for some in 7.1.1 broke it for others. I have researched this for many hours over many days. So, here's something new I just found out.
My setup is a Pixel XL with Project FI on 7.1.1 patch and very few apps installed. Also connected is a Huawei Watch, which may be important.
The symptoms are as follows: when a bt device turns on and tries to connect to the phone, it connects in a "Connected (no phone)" state. A way to remedy this is to go to Settings/Bluetooh, click on the device to disconnect it and then click on it again to connect it. Then it connects correctly in a "Connected" state.
Here's something I just noticed.
1) If a smartwatch is already connected beforehand, "Connected (no phone)" happens.
2) If a smartwatch is disconnected, then the bt device connects correctly.
3) If you force a connection to bt device manually, as described above, the watch seems to disconnect from phone functions - now making a call on the watch produces bt phone audio on the bt device, and not on the watch as it should.
4) If you force a connection to the watch, while the bt device is connected correctly, the bt device goes into "Connected (no phone)" state immediately.
So, it seems like 7.1.1 introduced an entirely new bug for someone like myself with a similar setup - the phone audio to a bt device and a smartwatch are mutually exclusive. Either watch can use bt phone audio or a bt device, but not both at the same time.
I am not sure about Nougat, but on the Galaxy Note 7 with Marshmallow, the bt phone audio would play correctly on a watch or a bt device depending on who initiated or answered a call, or called up Google Assistant. In other words, both the watch and bt device could be used simultaneously, without conflict.
I would appreciate some feedback, possibly with ideas of fixing this issue. Thanks!
Seems to me ( and I'm just saying . . . I'm just guessing . . . ) this is a carrier connectivity issue spilling into the BT.
Is this at work or at home or both ? ? ?
When you are on "Project Fi" - who is 'actually' providing you your cell service ? ? ? Sprint ? ? ( poopie quantity of cell towers . . . )
.
( honest stuff next )
I was on t-mobile last year and I had okay service at work and pretty damn crappy service at home. . . . It was like I had to go outside and get the ladder to make a call . . .

It seems to be a bug introduced in 7.1.1, as this was not a problem in 7.1. I'm not sure how a cellular radio can affect a bt radio. Are you saying that you have seen someone who was not on Project Fi and didn't have this bug?
Update: I just tested it with a brand new Motorola Roadster 2. I didn't wear a smartwatch intentionally and the car kit connected correctly, and I was able to speak and make phone calls. Of course, when I was wearing the watch yesterday, it connected as "Connected (no phone.)"
When will Google fire their bluetooth "guru" and hire someone who can actually make this work?
EDIT: I know how this sounds, but it is the truth!

You are right. Google's Bluetooth has been buggy for a long time.

Mi6 bluetooth problems

Each time I use Mi6 via bluetooth in car to answer/make calls - first call goes OK, and all others not - people I talk to don't hear me. It happena in 4 different cars so it's not car's problem. Mi5 was OK. I run 7.1.1 NMF26X global beta. miui 8 7.6.8 global beta. And can't solve it myself. Tried deleting and re-adding cars, restarted phone - nothing helped. When I switch to phone during call - it's OK. As soon as I switch back to car - same problem. No one hears me and I hear everyone.
Any1?
I'm sorry but I can't test because I don't have any Bluetooth devices.
Not using any bluetooth device either.

Ok, one by one.
1. My phone does not see andriod wear app on my smart clock with bluetooth --> My watch works, did you unpair your watch with old phone first? Android wear watch can only connect to 1 phone.
2. There's personal hotspot, you can see it in the settings menu.
3. GPS needs time to find your phone, you need to have wifi (or mobile data connection to assist the phone), if it located your phone, next time GPS will work faster.
It is a different issue with me: when paired with a BT device with the "phone audio" profile enabled, despite picking up the call on via pressing the green button on the touchscreen, it still defaults to the BT device (and I have to switch audio back to "phone" before the other person cuts off after hearing nothing). This is on the global ROM 8.2.2.0...
The global ROM seems buggy as hell...

Hello Friend.
The same happens to me.
It connects to bluetooth but I have no output or audio input.
Did you get it fixed?
Thank you
Everyone.
This is not xiaomi's problem.
This problem is due to oreo's new bluetooth stack.
There is no current solution to this. I've searched far, wide and deep.
Android has a great track record in keeping the bluetooth stack broken.
If you try to search google, you will find out that not only xiaomi phones have this problem.
The only theoretical solution is to port old bluetooth blobs, and somehow make it work. But as far as i know, no one has done this before.
There is hope that android pie will fix this. But from what i read, early builds of pie still has this problem.

Bluetooth always reconnecting in car

The problem is to connect Bluetooth on a Moto Z Play Android 7.1.1 patchlevel 2/2018 (current in reteu, was same result with Android 6.0.1 12/2016) with a Volvo XC40 car.
The first pairing with Bluetooth succeeds for a second. Then, nearly immediately, both displays (car and mobile) show reconnecting for about 10 seconds. It has a connect for a fraction of a second, and then is reconnecting and so on.
Trying flight mode and then only Bluetooth enabled on the mobile did not help. IIRC it showed some message about "My Volvo Carnull not bonded" (the name of the car for Bluetooth is "My Volvo Car" and some message with typo, something like "conecnting not successful". After that I rebooted, result was the state before with reconnecting.
Did try this several times. Also did try to reduce the amount of Bluetooth access types the car tries. There are 4 connected: phone, audio, internet, contacts. Did also not help.
Has anyone an idea how to get a successful connection or what the cause of the problem is? Did search for similar problems with Bluetooth in cars, but could not find anything (except for that hint with flight mode which did not help).
What I tried by now:
- Flight mode, only Bluetooth (as already mentioned). No change
- Remove all bluetooth connections. Pair new. No change
- Delete data for sytem app "Bluetooth Freigabe". No change
All other bluetooth connections are working fine. Another Moto Z Play using Android 7.0 (01/2017) is working flawlessly with that car. Strange for me is that it didn't work on 6.0.1 in the same way it does now fail on 7.1.1, but the other Moto Z Play using 7.0 is connecting stable.
Still the question: Does anyone have an idea how to get the connection working?
Factory reset?
I see that you deleted all bt connection but do you have some apps that are using bt? Like for smartwatch, headphones...?
I have Amazfit and watch must be connected to be able to pair a new device. Drow me crazy first time when I had that problem. I thought that car audio is broken, then phone... After pairing, watch doesn't have to be connected to reconnect.

I was afraid this reply could come. When doing a factory reset, I do following: Pack /data/media somewhere because Nandroid omits this. Backup all partitions using twrp. Backup all apk using adb. Export SMS. Export contacts. Screenshots of the launcher screens. All this takes about 2-3 hours. Then I struggle a week until my device behaves like before. I'd be willing to do it if I saw a reason why it could help.

Headphone, yes, there is August EP650 configuration tool that is not necessary. Thank you for the hint, will try it. Also I read somewhere it may help to delete cache partition, that's also worth a try before doing factory reset. Maybe I'll wait for Oreo before trying factory reset, could be they fixed some bug there.
Edit: BatOn which shows Bluetooth battery for external devices could also be the culprit.

That's a strange behavior indeed. Amazfit seems to do something wrong.
It doesn't get any better if you upgrade to Oreo, I've been having problems with my Moto Z play disconnecting and reconnecting to the radio in my Corolla constantly ever since I went up to nougat. To be honest I just bought a good pair of headphones and stopped using the radio. Good luck though, if someone finds something that helps let me know.
I'm using bt with car audio, headphones, smartwatch... No problems at all, except one with Amazfit. And that is related to their bt implementation, not Moto fault.

Seems the last action to remove Bluetooth related apps was the right one . There were two apps installed:
1. BatOn showing the state of battery of connected Bluetooth device
2. August configuration app for August EP650 headset
Removed both as they are usually not needed and it seems to work now. Will see later if it only worked for the short test I did today (currently I try to avoid driving because of an injury) or if it keeps stable.
Good, you didn't have to factory reset after all
