So I installed the latest update for my T520 10.1 (which just added the kids mode) and now my tablet does random reboots all the time. Probably at least once an hour. I am running stock rom with root. I did have the cybertronic kernel installed and thought maybe it was causing the reboots. So I Odin'd back to stock, and am still having reboots. Anyone else experiencing this? (I did clear cache and factory reset)
hi,
I have exactly the same problem after the updates T520XXUANF4 (with last CF-Auto-Root)
Ditto after a factory reset ...
return to T520XXUAND1

I think reboots are kernel security related as my note pro 12.2 was rebooting several times a day after root and removing Knox, now I'm re rooted with Knox and no reboots in over 24 hours.

So I had frozen all the knox files with titanium backup. I went in and unfroze them a couple hours ago. No reboots since. Crossing my fingers that it works.
edit: still lots of reboots, so I chose to go with a custom rom.

Same here on the reboots! My device is no longer rooted after the previous update, which worked great. Only MagazineWidget, WatchOn and Screen Saver are turned off. Since I wasn't planning to root again I can't use Titanium Backup, but I'm assuming that whatever I froze there would show up in Application Manager in the "Turned Off' tab? The Knox application still shows the "download" icon b/c I never installed it.
I checked the Sammobile site, but it looks like it doesn't show U.S. firmware. Anyone know how I can get back to the previous update?
i am running stock which is not my normal staus but have never had a reboot on latest update or previous versions. just wanted to throw that out there.
have reload T520XXUANF4 and it's ok if you answered no to supersu when he wants to disable knox
no reboot after 24 hour

ps ; who speaks better English than me to explain the problem to Chainfire?

From my reading, I think you can use the firmware for Cellular South on sammobile. Or you can use the one from this link and follow his directions. The firmware is for France, but gives you the option for English language. I have used it several times myself.

Also having random reboots after latest update. I was able to root using the same Chainfire file as I did with the previous firmware.

So after using a custom rom for a few days, I really wanted to go back to the stock rooted rom. Here is my procedure. Maybe some of the steps were unnecessary, but in the end it worked. No more reboots!
I first went into twrp and wiped cache and dalvik cache. Then I did a factory reset. Then used Odin to load the stock rom. Went into stock recovery and did another factory reset. Then went thru the process of installing the updates. After the updates I rooted then did another factory reset and cleared cache. I had a random reboot shortly after that when I was restoring everything on the tablet. . But that was over 7 hours ago. No more reboots!
Factory reset and staying on stock worked for me. No random reboots since I did this yesterday.

Thought I'd contribute with having the same issue - TabPro 8.4 here (T320).
Stock NG2 ROM, but I was having reboots from NF2 as well.
I'll do a factory reset and try again, see if it helps.

May I ask which rom you went with? I'm experiencing the same problem and am trying to figure out which rom to install in order to get rid of the reboots.
Wiped data, rooted and said no to disabling Knox - no reboots yet!

I tried all that were available. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. I finally went back to rooted stock because I had a few apps that wouldn't work with the custom roms. Look a few posts earlier about doing the factory resets.
Solution Found
I updated my T520 from NAE to NG1 using Odin and rerooted it with CF method and I was experiencing random reboots. I did tow things:
1. I defrosted the knox notifications in TB (I had disabaled it when super user asked me to...)
2. I went to SuperSU app's settings under cleanup I tapped reinstall and followed the given commands there...
I have not had any reboots since 2 days ago. :fingers-crossed:
I just wanted to share this with those that are having random reboots. Give it a try... hopefully It will work
I flashed scrosler's stockish ROM and also haven't had any reboots in two days according to bootlog uptime. Woot!
As already mentioned, "defrosting" Knox with TB und skiping Chainfires SuperSu notification worked for me on CFrooted stock ROM. No reboots anymore

This appears to have solved my rebooting problem, too.
Another Solution
My T320 was rooted only once with TowelRoot and I disabled Knox when I was prompted and never tripped it. The soft reboots started happening and I searched all over for a solution but cannot remember where I had found talk of it. I haven't had any problems ever since I did it in the middle of July. I installed Xposed Installer and then installed the Samsung Kitkat SystemServer Crash Fix module which apparently was developed for the S4.

I alredy did that. It doesn't work. It stucks in android is upgrading or loading apps. I don't remember exactly what it says, but it's something like that. Do you have any idea for what may be happening? Thanks for your help!
EDIT: It's freeze and reboots as such as the image
I had this problem too and there is a solution for this boot loop. Downgrading lollipop to KK causes this loops. Search as "SM-N910A baseband unknown SOLUTION" on google and you'll find the solution.

hi, can you check your imei / baseband when you're on kitkat? (you have to do that very fast because your phone restarts every couple of minutes)
if your imei is null and baseband unknown, you can follow instructions on my thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-att/help/baseband-ok-imei-unknown-efs-folder-t3156309
it will wipe the efs files, baseband will fixed, but imei still unknown.
i'm still stuck on the imei, but so far, the phone's bootloop will be fixed, no more auto restarts :fingers-crossed:
So I have recently bought a new Lg G3 D856. I used it for the first week flawlessly but after a week or so, google play started showing issues.
So play store is just stuck on white screen. I tried clearing cache and restarting. It works, but temporarily. After a few hours, the issue arises again. Also gmail wont load, it just circles around. Moreover, facebook is also stuck on load-loop too. I have no idea what this issue is about, but it's extremely frustrating.
I've tried factory resetting. It worked smoothly for a week, and now im having the same issues again.
If anyone could help me out. :/
If you know how to root flash recovery and roms then do it. If factory reset didn't fix your problem then it seems your firmware broken. Flash a custom ROM.

Is there any possibility that the firmware will be fixed with the Android M update? I dont want to flash custom ROM this quick.
As the title says, phone has randomly rebooted
... twice in the last few minutes, both times I had picture in picture going while sending a text...has anyone else experienced this? Also, the boot time is amazingly fast at least!

Did you do a wipe when you flashed or just update? If you just did an update, I would try to reinstall and let it wipe the device.
Yup. I'm experiencing this as well. Happened to me twice yesterday. Maybe try a factory reset?

Having the same issue did a complete factory install with the stock image.
Then rooted not sure if that is causing my issues but, is anyone else stock not rooted having random reboots?
I've had 3 reboots since jumping on Oreo. Did my update the clean way through a factory reset and flashing a factory image. Stock, unrooted.

I had random reboots too coming from DP4 to FInal. No more random reboots since I flashed the factory images
Is 8.0 the version that is the start of the new OS updating system? I wonder if the partitioning is getting all screwed up? I think I'll stay on 7.1.2 for a bit longer till this gets ironed out.

when i first updated to oreo and rooted it, i ran into the rebooting issues some of you are experiencing. i think the root of my issue was busybox. i did a clean install of oreo again the other day and rooted, but didnt put busybox on the phone. phone ran fine for a day, so i tried giving busybox another go. the reboot issues came back. hope this helps
Mine only reboots randomly if I have YouTube picture in picture enabled once I disabled it I haven't had any reboots maybe try to disable that
Just did the update a couple hours ago and so far so good. Picture in picture works too. Stock, GPE on VZW, no root or anything.

Guys, anyone still getting random on persistent reboots on Oreo with Pixel (XL)? I'm doing my second factory reset atm and monitoring these two threads on buganiser - 1, 2. Basically people started getting reboots after upgrading to Oreo and one notable common thing is: 'Sense Key : Hardware Error [current]' which Google reps assigned to the threads read as hardware issue (probably with Toshiba's memory chips being prone to overflow/overload (?)). They haven't answered my question why is it only happening on Oreo though. I REALLY don't want to go through the warranty process again only to get a device with the same problem as I still believe it can be fixed in 8.1. Is there anyone who had similar issues that got fixed with the 8.1 Beta? Cheers!
I'm experiencing the random reboots too.
Oct. 8.0, Magisk, Root
I almost missed an alarm due to this, so I think I may go back to Nougat. Not only does it reboot, but it gets stuck in the boot screen. If I hold Power and reboot, it comes up though.
UPDATE:
I gave up and installed the stock Samsung ROM. For any germans on "open" A3s: The Austrian open version of 7.0 works fine. Not network related or other issues for me.
Hu guys,
I installed TWRP, rooted and tried installing xposed installer from here.
After that I got stuck in bootloop. Tried formatting data and a factory reset various times now, but I always get stuck in bootloop again.
Any idea how I can fix my messing up?
Thanks!

Why do you install an Xposed version for L and M on N?
Anyway, you have to flash stock again since a factory reset does not repair damaged system partitions. I would use SmartSwitch for returning to the latest official firmware.

I only flashed 7 after being stuck in bootloops. Before that I was running 6 and installed Xposed for 6.
Any reason in pareticular for not running Austrian 7 in Germany? Seems to work just fine.
Thanks!
