I've rooted my CDMA Nexus and flashed to the leaked stock 4.0.4 update.
Will it be possible to update at all using normal methods or will I need to flash via rootkit again?

Has this already been answered?

Root is no problem. A non Stock recovery is, as well as a custom ROM. But you can always flash it manualy in stead of doing through the OTA process.

I am rooted and received the OTA notification could I do the update without un-rooting or should I un-root using Wug?
Thanks

If you are rooted then why would you want to update with ota?

Presumably, if it keeps root like he is asking, it'd be quicker for him to accept the update on his phone than go to a computer, download the update and then install from there.
What I meant is that if he is rooted then he can flash any version of android on his phone and doesn't need to update with ota

Rooted doesn't mean he has a custom recovery and can flash easily.
So in this case ota is easier.
And ota updates really are updates, which means you don't lose your data.
You can take the OTA. I took the update and didn't have to have stock recovery. I had to restore a backup of completely stock 4.1.1 because an audio mod was making the update fail. CWM also has a protect root option after the update and will allow you to switch back to stock recovery if you want.

Because of the SuperSU issue w/the JSS15Q ota, I installed Superuser instead. Anyone know of any issues when trying to do the JSS15R ota with Superuser installed?
I'm rooted with stock recovery. Thanks.

I just updated with supersu 1.65 with ota survival ticked. Worked just fine, it even managed to keep root.
Rooted with stock recovery

Think I'll just install SuperSU b4 OTA.

It would if it could run successfully, but it won't because the ota will likely fail if you have a different kernel and thus not install anything at all.
That is with 90% of the OTAs that are patch format. For some major upgrades they ship the OTA as a complete upgrade, in which case it would overwrite your existing kernel.
Hello, I have a question. Can I download an OTA update unto my note 3 that I ODIN back to stock. It's not rooted and has the stock recovery. I have a message about an update from t-mobile (5.1.1) I belive. Will it successfully flash?
