I have a KLD rk3188 unit. It has been great, except for one problem. No voice control. My car's built in Bluetooth supported voice dial perfectly, but i cant seem to get it to talk through the canbus to the head unit. Thus i am dependent on what the radio offers me. Sadly, I can't make voice work. Downloaded the Google App. Tried using Google Now, but when I tap the microphone, the app crashes.
Any tips?

Bump. Not being able to hands-free dial is a major problem.

i too have got the same setup today and looking for some help with voice commands. If I find something will post here..
Apparently some of the pumpkin models now use a parrot bluetooth module that supports voice commands.
http://www.autopumpkin.com/pumpkin-...link-obd2-wifi-3g-steering-wheel-control.html
Otherwise it seems the same as the other MTCB models. Wonder if its possible to replace the bluetooth with the FC6000TN modules they are using?

I am using the latest Malaysk ROM dated 10th January 2016 for RK3188 1024*600. It lets me speak Ok Google and Call (contact name) to the phone when after pressing the call button. The way it works for me is:
1. Whatever is playing on the unit, it stops when I press the call button on my steering;
2. It launches the unit's dial screen;
3. I say 'OK Google', it launches the ok google listener on the phone;
4. I say 'Call (contact name)' and it calls.
Few things I had to manage before this started working was:
1. Enable the option to receive commands over bluetooth in Google Now settings in the phone;
2. Enable to XPOSED MTC in the XPOSED framework in the head unit;
3. Change the setting to integrate with phone's google now interface (something like that) in XPOSED MTC module.

Hello Sir
Can you tutorial with more detail? I installed XposedMTC. I want to use voice speech dial to call but It is not success. If you know way., please tell me
Thank you so much
I have Klyde MTCC unit with a Parrot BT board. Voice dial works great. It works just like the one in this video.
What I'd really like to know is how is the microphone overlay added. The microphone icon can be moved freely on the screen, even on the factory home screen. I have changed several ROMs, both 4.4 and 5.1 and it is always there. AFAIK only units with the Parrot BT board have this.

I've been able to accomplish this using Tasker and AutoVoice. It doesn't actually make the call, but you can use all voice commands to get the contact screen up with the results of your voice query to pick the person you want to dial.

I've found a app called Toppal. It is designed to run on Android head units. You have to buy a licence, which I have not done yet, but it dials through the bluetooth app.

The touch pro2 can't carry out the voice speed dial function with my bluetooth headset.
tap the call handling button on the headset can not make anything happen. Neither by press and hold the button.
The only function still remain with the sony-ericsson HBH-DS970 is double tap the call handling button on the headset to re-dial the last number.
The voice speed dial function is very useful when your hands is busy, such as driving. What can I do now?
I have two bluetooth headset, one is sony-ericsson HBH-DS970 and the other is SIEMENS HHB-750.
The software I use is cyberon Voice Speed Dial V1.2.
The following is an answer from HTC:
"I do not know how you have got Cyberon installed as it is not instaled on the device by default.
I therefore cannot give you any support as the devices do not have any voice command software installed out of the box.
best regards,
HTC Europe Support"
I can't have anymore words on this.
Correct it doesn't work There are a number of threads about this around here.
I use Microsoft Voice command and have to (long) press the send key on the phone then it kicks in through the Bluetooth car kit. The general theory is this is a side effect of the change in Bluetooth stack made on this phone, I'm sure we'll see a fix, but probably not until we start seeing cooked ROMs.
Gordon
All you can do is to change the settings for the Send button to launch CVSD when you hold it, but for doing this with your headset's button, unfortunately you'll have to wait... for another ROM...

Reporting in from Canada here... after reading a couple of threads about issues with bluetooth voice dial, I got concerned and tried it this evening with my Jabra BT3030 and Telus TP2. Voice dial using the included MS Voice Command software works properly when I press the voice dial button on the BT3030. So... the problem isn't universal; we have at least some bluetooth devices out there that work properly with voice dialing on a TP2.
Hope that helps,

Would you please list some detail information, such as type number, of the bluetooth devices which work perfectly on voice dial?
I seached on this forum and many other chinese forum, almost all of them report the voice dial can't be launch for the call handling button on the bluetooth device.
Thanks in advance.

Hi net_walker,
I'm not sure if I correctly followed your question, but if you're asking for the model number of bluetooth devices that seem to work with the TP2, I gave that in my original post. It is the Jabra brand, model "BT3030" that works correctly for me on my Telus TP2. The basic web page for the model is here:
http://www.jabra.com/Sites/Jabra/na-us/Headsets/Pages/JabraBT3030.aspx?productfamilytab=Details
On that website, they list it as the model BT3030, with what I believe is an extended specific model number of "(100-93030000-60)".
Hope that is helpful,

mmmh ! Very interesting !
At first time, i've thought for a BDR tweack to solve the problem.
Now it sounds like it is radio Rom dependant...

Thanks for your share.
Because at this moment we didn't have an HardSPL from our dear Olinex Team (hope they do there home work (lol)) to make a cooked rom, i'm looking for something like OEM to CAB to test the OEM into my TP2 and maybe solve the problem for all of us who can't use Bth button to make a voice call.

Hi, everybody,
Did someone know some other bluetooth headsets work with Touch Pro2 to carry out the Voice dial function, except this one "Jabra BT3030" ?
Yes, I have the Tmobile TP2 and the Bluetooth voice dial function works with the MSVC that came with the phone. There is a 5-7 seconds wait until the microphone activates. So after I hold down the call button on the ear piece for few seconds to activate voice command, I have to wait till I hear a second sound that tells me the phone is now listening. Other than this, it works just fine.
Its an old plantronic bluetooth ear piece, dont remember the model number, but its the one with silver stripes down the length of the device on the sides. Its in my car, I will check later and add that if anybody needs the number.
My Plantronics headset can call voicedial the same way it did on my Kaiser - a long press of the "call" button.

Hmmm, very strange.
I have a Plantronics Discovery 925 myself and it's supose to be one in the winner team of Plantronics, but still nothing
And I have to say that it works just perfect with Touch Cruise, Diamond and HD.
Not with this one. You're sure you didn't done anything to your phone regarding this?

Nope - one of the first things I checked when I got the phone, it worked right out of the box before I started hacking on the registry and such.

I can confirm that issue on the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2. It is a VERY long time to wait for MSVC to start listening. I wish there was a way to put the standard Bluetooth stack on here so that Voice Command would work better.
I use a variety of Bluetooth headset devices; BlueAnt S1 car kit, BlueAnt Interphone (motorcycle helmet kit), Nextlink G5, Motorola 850 Stereo headphones... and all have the same slowness for activating MSVC.
I have a MOTOROKR™ T505 and if I hold the button down it'll do last number redial but I have to hold the dial key on the phone down to get Cyberon to listen.
Can't use MSVC as it won't understand me. Lot's of humans have this problem too so it's no surprise
Anyone get anywhere with this ?
Is it fixed in 6.5 or are there any ROMs with a fix cooked in ?
I have the same problem with my SE bluetooth
I have a Tilt2 (wm 6.5) stock with a Motorola H17 and voice command works fine. About 2-3 sec after headset button push and MSVC is listening.
I'm having trouble pairing my Desire my with Parrot bluetooth car kit. Keeps saying pairing failed on the phone, which is set to discoverable. I've tried 0000 and 1234 as the codes and neither seem to work. (Can't remember using a code for the iphone) I have also cleared all paired devices on the parrot to start from scratch and no luck
any ideas?
Just managed to fix this, and for anyone having issues the reason it wasnt pairing/accepting the 1234 code was that I was holding the letters to input those numbers, switched the keyboard to numbers, input it, and it paired first time..
confirmed: when it pops up to enter the bluetooth code, change the keypad to numbers and type the 1234. It will pair immediately.
not sure where is the bug on HTC or Parrot side... but at least we have a workaround

slightly odd isn't it! at least there's a way to do it!
There is no bug, the keypad simply shows the location of the numeric characters on the alpha keys for when you do switch to the numeric/symbol pad. I'm presuming you had it on alpha when entering numbers. My 3100 connected no problem.

Say what ?
When you press and hold an alpha key, say "R", the number 4 is displayed in green, tap it and it enters the number "4" into the input box.
HTC Desire + Parrot 3100 and 3300 + SatNav
Hi
Was wondering if anyone who has the Desire and a parrot carkit has tried any satnav apps with it? I have and the results are a odd! First of all the instructions are not routed through the car stereo which they were with previous winmo devices (this is not a big problem for me tho) however they ARE routed trhough the car stereoWith NDrive and Sygic Mobile Maps ONLY when IN A CALL!!! which really IS a problem since you can not hear a thing the caller says during the voice instructions it is that loud!! Any ideas how I can stop the app using the bluetooth connection for instructions when in a call?
It seems totally the wrong way round.. voice instructions through the phone speaker when not in a call and through the car when in a call
i'm also wondering this.. best to start a new thread i think.

I just found on another forum, that you have to delete other old paired devices from Parot CK3100 in some cases to pair with a new phones.
Try this and let us know.
Hi there,
I've searched this great forum for this piece of information and haven't found it, so here goes:
I was about to buy a Desire HD and then I read several users reporting absence of voice dialing over a bluetooth headset. I have to be sure about this, because it would be a deal breaker for me. Apart from this the DHD seems to be a device that fits my needs perfectly.
Hope you guys can help me out.
Thanks for your help in advance
best regards
André
it does do voice dialing over bluetooth with android 2.2 and up, hope that's useful for you.
thanks for answering
I heard that Froyo solved the issue, but that there was still a problem with the Desire HD regarding this feature. could you just confirm that it works. do you have the dhd and tested it yourself? Hope you don't mind my asking, but I don't want to buy a USD 500 phone and find out that this very important feature for me doesnt work. So could you kindly tell me if your info is based on your personal experience with it?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
i am also very curious about this question. I was searching the internet and did not find information about how to get this feature to work. It is not so important for me, as for my father (he owns desire 2.2 fw), but i will also appriciate it. It`s mostly needed in car and it`s quite dangerous without it, i think you know what i am talking about. Thank you for your answers.
I tried voice dialing using Google's Android Voice Actions which worked. However, I did not use bluetooth headset.
I understand there is another app that does voice dialing too (became free from USD$10) which name I cannot recall now.
I believe these can do the job you require.
*Edit* The name of the other app is Vlingo. You can try it out.
just tried Google Voice Search with my BT headset (Plantronics 975) and long-pressing the button didn't get me anywhere...
let's see if Vlingo works
if anyone has a solution it would be very appreciated, since having to tap the phone while driving completely misses the point of using a bluetooth headset in the car.
best regards
André
I have a 10 day old desire hd, it does indeed come with a voice dialer (cyberon voice commander) - at least the telus version of the phone does.
I've not had issues with getting the voice dialing to work...
BUT, after much troubleshooting, I have found that whe the cyberon voice commander app is running, the phone's external speaker volume becomes much quieter - the result: it can be difficult to hear your phone ring in an environment that is not extremely quiet.
the fix: force close the voice commander.
I'm currently in search of a replacement voice dialer app to replace it with
Revolution HD 3.0 is based on Froyo 2.2.1 and I am not able to dial via BT.
There is no response to BT button!
Froyo 2.2 should solve this problem. Should.... In my case this is still issue.
ps. My BT is Plantronics 975
Vlingo does not work with BT Headset long-press button, but it's kind of a workaround. Very, VERY big mistake on behalf of HTC in not making handsfree BT headset voice dialing work, at least until now. I've been escalated in the HTC support, but up to now the only thing they told me is that i works with the plantronics 220. I asked them why it doesn't work with Plantronics 975, since it is their top-of-the-line headset and am waiting for an answer.
If this doesn't get fixed soon it'll be a dealbreaker for me.
Hope someone has a clue as to how to solve this.
best regards
André

I installed it this morining, works great. It is included in LeeDroid Rom.

Thanks a lot. Will try it later this evening Does my DHD have to be rooted in order to use it?
Vlingo was working rather well will bt heaset long button press until the update to 3.0. now I have to interact with the screen, which defeats Voice Dialing with BT headset for me.
Does anyone have another solution which works well for BT Headset Voice Dialing?
Best regards
André
I'm having problems getting voice dialing to work with the bluetooth headset as well. I've tried both RCMix3D Runnymede 1.4 and Android Revolution 6.1.1. It was very difficult to get the headset connect and it won't reconnect automatically. Further, the voice dialing app was missing from one of the ROMs and when bluetooth voice dialer starts up on the other one, it freezes the phone and you have to pull the battery which you know is a nightmare on this phone. Note that bluetooth will work when the phone is used to do the dialing but I need to be able to initiate this from the headset so it is truly hands-free to satisfy safe driving laws.
Does anyone have bluetooth voice dialing working on their Desire HD where it is invoked from a tap on the bluetooth device? Please post which ROM you are using and any special tricks required to set it up.
Thank you.
As a followup, I installed LeeDroid to try that out. It is still difficult to connect to the headset and reconnect automatically. However, once it is connected, handsfree bluetooth dialing works!
Can anyone tell me what needs to be fixed to make the BT connection work properly?
Just installed Cyberon Voice Dialer v1.2.3 build 110421 from the Market. Works very well with voice tags via a BT headset.

Maybe I didn't spend long enough with those apps. What I want is to hit the button on my BT headset, say the contacts name and have the phone dial it immediately without going through any further steps. All this via the BT headset. I could never get this to work on the HD2 (the mic on the phone picked up the sound, not the BT headset) but Cyberon Voice Speed Dial on the SGS2 works perfectly.
Can you do that with either of the 2 included apps?
afaik yes, but I will dust off my old BT headset and check
I can also confirm Cyberon Voice Speed Dial works via bluetooth. Vlingo also worked but you couldn't hear confirmation through the bluetooth headset so was a bit hit and miss / hit and hope its calling the right person. CSVD worked great on Windows mobile and does a similar job on Android.
Does this phone support offline voice dialing as symbian phone does?
THANKS for the incredible recommendation on Cyberon Speed Dial. EXACTLY what I was looking for!
I have a lot of foreign sounding contacts and the voice tagging is just like when I had my Palm Treo 600. Also works well starting up apps like Pandora, SMS, and Maps
HIGHLY recommend this app.
Another important difference is the need of internet connection for the 2 stock dialers. Cyberon's products instead work also without connection
This voice dialer is really great, because you can record your own voice tag for each contact, instead to try talking like R2-D2 with the stock application. Unfortunately, I have one big issue - when I first installed this app, all works like a charm. When I double press the home button or BT headset button, Cyberon speed dial starts. Then I flash the phone with the latest firmware (KE7) and now when I press these buttons, starting the terrible stock application. I spoke with the tech support, but all of their suggestions doesn't work. If somebody have an idea how to make Cyberon as default application or to remove stock app without rooting the phone, I will be very, very grateful. Already tried in Application/Manage application to clear default values for stock voice commander, but clear default button is innactive (gray).
Same problem for me with KE7 firmware - can't launch Voice Speed Dial from the BT headset. Have tried uninstalling it, unpairing the BT headset, turning off phone then removing battery. Then reinstalled app and re-paired headset. Still doesn't work.
Have reported this to Cyberon and they responded "...recent ROMs don't follow standard process of Android's definition to handle the Bluetooth activation event. We're not able to change it at this moment, but have reported this issue to Samsung, and hope they will fix it soon."
Meanwhile the only solution I've found is to root phone and then freeze Voice command using AntTek App Manager. Then unpair BT headset > soft reset > re-pair headset. I now have Voice Speed Dial launching from the headset again.

Just replace vlingo with stock android voice dialer app from sgs or from cm7 with root explorer in system/apps.
Works without internet, you can hear confirmations in bt headset, no need to re-pair the headset.
Or use cyberon.
Attached the version from nexus s.

Is there a way to replace the 'double tap' from launching Vilingo to Launch the Cyberion Voice Dialer app instead? If so, i'll be so glad to know how!
The voice call with BT headset does not work. In particular the BT uses the voice dialing app, which does not recognize the commands.
I have run some tests to investigate the matter without BT headset:
1. The voice dialing app does not recognize spoken commands.
2. The voice call using the google search works perfectly.
Then I tried to call google search from BT headset installing Bluetooth Launch but without success.
Do you have some idea?

Does your Bluetooth voice dialer use bluetooth 4.0?
Huawei P6 has a limitation of only supporting bluetooth devices up to version 3.0 which may explain why the two devices cannot communicate with each other.
My bluetooth voice dialer (Sena SMH5 - FM) uses bluetooth 3.0.
I tried to:
1. disable the stock voice dialing app
2. install the app Bluetooth Launch, which redirects the voice command to the google search
It works, but the Bluetooth Launch app not always redirects in the right way the vocal command. I would like to find a better solution which works without exceptions.
